Frankies and Benny's in Croydon

Previous visits were very nice. Today 18th November it was abysmal. Waitress really couldn’t be bothered, spent ages talking in a different language to one table at least 20 mns before asking us to order drinks. Bearing in mind only two tables in use, us being the 2nd table. Starters came with the cheese not even melted and the dip missing. By th time the mains came it was too hot in the restaurant to breath let alone eat. The mini ceaser salad was a baby gem cut in half with highly salted toast smothered in dressing. Inedible. Basically a disaster.

Came here for our family Christmas get together as we have done for a few years now, as the service is great, but on this occasion we were let down. Our food took way to long to come and when it did I have to say I was disappointed with my meal, the jacket potato was cold and I didn't realise you have to pay separately for the salad, which was poor. We had to wait even longer for our desserts and the bill arrived before our puddings. Sadly we won't be returning to celebrate our Christmas again with frankie and bennies.

I booked the table reservation online and we got a free mains which was lovely! The restaurant was not packed, which was ideal as I had been there before and the constant happy birthdays and some loud people eating there did get annoying! Our waitress was friendly, and the food was brought out quickly. She also changed the bananas for strawberries when I ordered the yummy Lotus pancakes, which was appreciated. However what spoilt it all for me was that the website says they close at 10pm on a Sunday, yet by 9pm with some people still in the restaurant they said they were closing at 9pm. Had we known we would have ordered everything when we arrived including the coffee, which at 9pm we could not order, because the coffee machine was being cleaned. None of this info was on the website and this was not conveyed when we arrived. I was seeing a friend that came from far to see me so the aim was to have a few good hours of good food and convo, and it all then felt like it was all quite rushed by 9pm to leave. It was a shame as we both ordered the pancake stacks and it tasted lovely but really needed some coffee to finish them off nicely. So as that wasn't available and we felt rushed to leave, we both left much of the pancakes on the plate. I am not sure I will be back and if I do go back I will probably keep in mind that I need to get the order including coffee put in as soon as I arrive, and I might be asked to leave an hour before closing time (as on their website) even though the restaurant is not full! It is a shame as people go out to eat for the experience and not just the food and this seems to be overlooked at this place.

Terrible service from Fabiana. She got our order wrong multiple times, started to clear the table while some of our party were still eating, even to the extent of stretching over people eating to get to plates or glasses that weren't being used. She also took away glasses that people were still drinking from. The restaurant still had 60 minutes before closing when she did this. When the bill came, the OPTIONAL service charge was automatically added to the cost that was inputted to the card machine, and then the card reader was asking for an additional service charge on top of this! When we said we were not going to pay the optional service charge that had been added this was met with questioning as to why we didn't want to pay it, we explained the poor service and were then told a manager would have to remove the charge, so clearly, despite being optional, many people are being fleeced by it automatically being added to bills. Fabians could not conceal her annoyance at this, slamming the card reader back down onto the table, glaring at us and refusing to speak to us again. Would definitely not return (this was our first visit), food was okay, cooked well but very overpriced for what it was, toilets were very smelly and there was no soap available in them and clearly hadn't been checked by staff for a good while!

Brilliant customer service! a rarity in the restaurant business! Staff member dagmara was lovely and always checked on us. food came in a good reasonable time, will definitely come again and go through the menu and there cocktails 🍹

Staff were very helpful and polite and were joking with our children. Nice atmosphere. Their range of drinks is good and good deals for kids at a very good price.

I ordered a takeaway from Frankie and Bennys and one of the items that was sent was the wrong item. So I called the restaurant and spoke to James (the manager) who said that he would re-do the whole order plus keep all the original items at no extra cost, as long as I could come and collect the new items. I was very impressed with the way that James resolved my issue. That’s excellent customer service right there. I would like to thank James once again for resolving this issue, even better than I thought possible. Sunil

We had a reservation at 3:15 on GCSE results day because we wanted to get free pizza. The manager came out yelling at us all and was very rude, he told us to come back in an hour without providing an explanation. This meant we had to wait outside for an hour in the rain whilst very hungry. After an hour we went inside only to find out they had run out of pizza. This meant we were unable to claim the free lunch that was offered and instead had to go elsewhere. The manager was very rude and yelled at multiple of us and did not give us all the information he had, meaning we were confused the entire time. I would not recommend eating here. This did not only happen to my group but also affected the numerous other students waiting to claim their free pizza.

Visited this restaurant , as I have eaten there before,and prevoously had found the food good and service excellent. I ordered the BBQ chicken srack for £17.60 and requested a jacket potato instead of fries. The meal comes with onion rings, but only 1 was put on the plate, and the jacket potato was hard I asked for the food to be redone and more onion rings with my meal. The presntation of the meal was not apoetsing with the chicken hanging off the plate. The waitress bought 4 onion rings in a bowl to me, and redone my food. However the manager did not apologise, and I asked for a discount which was given, and a consolation drink, as by the time my meal arrived I had finished my first one. If you are not starving, and have a heavy purse then, good luck, Franky & Bennys, if not McDonald's is directly opposite and suggest you eat there.

I was looking forward to going to the cinema next door with my partner on a rare day off we had each and decided to pop in here to try it out and ended up regretting that decision. We was welcomed in by a guy at the front desk and taken to a seat. We checked they had a disabled access toilet for my partner as she is a wheelchair user and they did which is the only plus thing in this review. We were seated at a table in a restaurant that was easily less than a quarter full and did not get seen for over 10 mins, not even for drinks, I had to request someone come over as the guy on front desk was on his phone and the 2 waitresses were standing and chatting to each other. Eventually we got served but the waitress taking our order didn't even look at us whilst doing so and was looking at someone else on another table. The vegan milkshake was good and the expresso martini was below average. We both had hot dogs and the bun was dry as old leather, I left mine but my partner was so hungry she forced her way through. The actual hot dog was also dry and with the speed we was served our meal I'm sure it had been cooked a long time ago and left out to dry. Couldn't find anyone to ask for the bill so in the end a guy emerged from a back office and I said I wanted to pay, he gave the bill then asked a waitress to come and setlle up. Terrible food and diabolical customer service. Will not be returning to this establishment any time in the future.

Was extremely let down and quite confused with how bad the food was and for the price. We all ordered burgers and chips and it came out within 5 minutes which was suspect as it was and the food even came out before the drinks! The bill was wrong as well with items we hadn't ordered so had to get them removed, all in all it was a bad experience

I was in the area at lunch time on 23 Dec. I needed somewhere to eat and decided upon this Restaurant. The customer service was simply fantastic, so friendly so welcoming I dined alone ,but the staff could not have looked after me any better, the food was equally as good large portion very tasty -Chicken New York. Once I got home I could not wait to tell everyone about my great experience the staff really looked after me .

Came here today for a bite to eat and honestly I have nothing to complain about when it comes to the food. It came quickly and was honestly delicious but the waitress who was serving us she made us feel like we was bothering her just because we didn’t know what we would like to order the second we sat down. It was my first time back here in years and the menu had changed quite a bit but the waitress was acting very impatient and kept rushing us to order to the point we just picked the first thing we saw. And there was only a few other tables and plenty of other staff on so it wasn’t like she was rushed off her feet. Me and my friend both felt very disrespected and dismissed as she was acting like she didn’t even want to serve us and was coming across as very snappy. I will say the host and the rest of the staff was very nice and cheerful but if I was to come back again it would be for their food.

Me and my partner came to the Croydon branch in Valley Park. Kasia.B was absolutely amazing. Her customer service was on point. She even poured our wine for us. We were taken back from it, thank you Kasia for all your help and service. Would highly recommend to a friend

Hello my fellow trip advisees, I must come clean and start by admitting my dark past. I hate to say this and I am ashamed of who I once was but you have to remember I have changed and people make mistakes. My dear readers, I must admit to you that prior to my visit i was a frankie and in addition to this bennys HATER. Oh how i would cry at night simply at the thought of waking up to frankie stood at the end of my bed telling me to get a job, and benny calling me things i shall not repeat. I believe this stemmed from the fact that my second cousins pet goldfish was called benny and he once slapped me with his 20 inch fin. HOWEVER. I have to say that i was pleasantly surprised (!) when upon arrival i was greeted with a full performance of bust a move starring the one and only matthew morrison featuring frankie himself from the hit restaurant frankie and then bennys! My friends, i could NOT believe my eyes!!!!! There before me stood the love of my life, my one and only. I thought this day visit couldnt get any better. How wrong I was…. When I was flown from the door to my seat in a private jet, i was presented with the menu. The only thing on it was sainsburys own broccoli, picked fresh from the island of ligma to which i was DELIGHTED as this is my favourite place in the whole of the land and the wood. Please please please listen to me you MUST take all your families friends and school to frisnkie and furthemore beanies because it is just so good there is not a greater place to exist i promise and you can trust me because i am an honest soul. If you can dream it fronkle and banjos can do it. I hope this will inspire you to venture to the great realm of benny and franks as you woll not be disappointed! Thank yo uand goodnight.

We went here after a trip to the cinema. The food was very nice and came quickly. It was very loud, so if your looking for a quiet place to eat this is not it. The waitress was lovely as well.

Always enjoy coming here. Food is delicious and hot. Staff are welcoming and super nice. Very accommodating towards my 2 years. I have came here multiple times and have never had a problem.

My late lunch experience at frankie this evening was special has my server Fabiana gave a five star service to me and my colleague. She gave all her attention to all 5btables that were in restaurant with professionalism and care. Food was great and warm. WILL BE BACK FOR SURE!!!

Good service and nice table. Brought extra coke, wrong sides on kids meal given, wrong adult side given. However staff lovely and all rectified within minutes hence the 4*. Food tasty and kids got slime and balloon and service was prompt thank you

Had a very pleasant lunch at Frankie & Benny’s Valley Park this afternoon. We both had hot dogs which were nice followed an equally nice desert. Our waiter Laser was first class. We will be returning again

Had another excellent meal at Frankie and Benny’s Valley Park.The food is always hot and very tasty.All the staff are very friendly and polite.Our server Lazer is one of our favourite members of staff. He is always friendly and offers 110%+ customer service.He is so good with our son and is always friendly and smiling. Nothing is too much trouble and he makes you feel very comfortable and welcome.Frankie and Benny’s would do well to get him to teach others what first class customer services is.Well done to Laser keep the good work up

We had a great time at frankie & benny’s today. Food and drink arrived promptly and all tasted great. Excellent service by Lazer. He was friendly, polite and efficient. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved the Avacado Bacon Chicken Salad very delicious and fresh of course with a waiter like vasco makes everything always better

Last sunday evening i came back to dine at our local Frankies was please to see vasco again luckily the host sat us down at on of his tables he didn't recognise us but always with good humour and quality service food was amazing like always best burgers in town! As drinks don't stay far behind. Thank you again!!!!!

Went for a meal before the cinema my wife had chicken and mushroom pasta. (Very good). However I ordered a hot dog with bacon and cheese that was truly awful. It was like a dry bit of leather that had been reheated in the microwave.

We visited Frankie and Benny’s on Sunday for Breakfast. It was lovely. The food was delicious and service was very fast and friendly. Our waiter LAZER was very friendly and helpful. He was always smiling and willing to help. Great experience and would recommend this restaurant.

I visited Frankies and Bennies yesterday and had an amazing time with my girlfriend. We were seated straightaway. Lazer our waiter took the order soon after we sat. He was very helpful and recommending dishes for us. The food came quick and looked and tasted great. The place was busy and service was very fast. Great atmosphere. We definitely will go back to this restaurant again.
