Frankie & Benny's in Plymouth

Wasn’t busy when we entered having booked. Despite having two young children was 20 minutes before we could get kids menu left 5 minutes later. Signed up for app and even had free main meal code never redeemed. Lots of space despite this given a table so wobbly they must know it is faulty. Only on leaving did the waitress come over so said we were going elsewhere. First and last visit.

Brilliant service Amelia J was fantastic, made the experience even better.

Amelia served us today and can quite honestly say she’s the best waitress I’ve ever known. Friendly, fun, and absolute asset to Frankie & Benny’s.

We had reserved a table for 6pm. We were told on arrival it was half an hour for food. It was really busy , but we ordered quickly and we were told twice food was on its way. After about an hour and 15 we were told that the had an issue with the ticketing which had caused a delay but would be given a discount. We ordered another round of drinks and kept being told they would arrive too. A couple who arrived some time after us received their food before us, just on the brink of leaving after 1.5 hours food arrived, but I think everyone was pretty over it by this point. Disappointing more so for our son who was celebrating his birthday. If the problem had been explained earlier this would have been a better solution, we could have taken the decision to move on.

We were celebrating a 30th birthday, with six people in our party, including a child and a baby, and had reserved a table for 5:45 PM. Upon arrival just before our reservation time, we were informed that no suitable table was available to accommodate a high chair. We were given the option to either wait 30-45 minutes or sit in a booth, which meant our 1-year-old would have to sit on the seat. This proved to be a challenge, as she was restless and wanted to crawl around, making the experience stressful from the outset. We placed our order at 6:10 PM and were told our food would arrive within 20 minutes, which we understood given how busy the restaurant was. However, our drinks didn't arrive until 6:40 PM, and they were incorrect, so we had to send them back. When we finally received the corrected drinks at 7:00 PM, they had been sitting at the bar since the incorrect order was returned, so the ice had melted, resulting in watered-down drinks. At this point, we still hadn't received any food. We politely asked a member of staff to provide an update, and 20 minutes later, a manager informed us that the ticket machine was broken, and our order hadn't gone through. While we appreciate that technical issues can occur, it was highly disappointing that this was not communicated to us sooner. By 7:45 PM, after having waited for over an hour and a half without receiving any food and with incorrect drinks, we made the decision to leave. The whole situation was frustrating, particularly as we had young children who were tired and hungry. We left the restaurant feeling dissatisfied, upset, and hungry. Unfortunately, this experience has left us with no desire to return, and we will not be recommending this restaurant to friends or family. I hope you can take this feedback into consideration and look into improving the service for future guests. We would appreciate a response to address this matter.

Arrived on a Friday night just to have a drink with 3 other friends prior to watching a movie and communicated this to the waiter who sat us down at a table. Another waiter then moved us to an another table “bar table”. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks, no one arrived so we left. It was empty at 20:20 so not sure what was going on. Another national chain destined for failure!

Ribs & sweet potato fries were good. Will order again. For me, the cheesecake & tiramisu were a little disappointing.

our server charlie was wonderful. nothing was too much hassle, and he was attentive and friendly.

Basic and limited menu, basic food and poor service. Place was half empty on a Friday evening yet our two course meal still took over two hours to finish due to slow service. Food was lukewarm, very basic and definitely not worth the price we paid. Also got charged an extra £1 for a couple tablespoons of BBQ sauce!!! Has completely lost any sense of atmosphere since moving to what is supposed to be some sort of New York dinner. Gone are the hearty Italian meals, it’s now barely microwave meal quality. A real shame as was a decent place a few years ago.

Danny was a great waiter, rushing about all on his own, seemingly at every table simultaneously. Very polite too.

Danny was amazingly helpful. Good was perfect. Thank you helped make our trip to Plymouth even better.

Dined in today and had an amazing experience. Many thanks to Amelka, Mya and Patricia. Food, service and drinks were all 10/10, spot on. Would highly recommend.

What an awful experience. Very slow service, waiter missed a meal off the order. It was eventually rushed through but came out burnt. They were turning people away despite every other table being empty. They didn’t seem to be able to cope with the few people that were in there though. Very expensive for the quality of food and portion sizes. Won’t be returning!

Good food with great service thanks

Me and my boyfriend went there for a meal on Thursday night and it’s was amazing, we had this new girl who’s only just started called Molly and she was wonderful couldn’t do more for us which we was thankful for. She made the night amazing and was nice to talk to. 👍

Really poor food, surely a chef should be able to cook a medium steak, had to be taken back to the kitchen as very rare , when returned still blood running all over my plate, and unable to cut, chicken pasta dish, with 3 small pieces of chicken, cheese and tomato pizza, with hardly no cheese, very rare do we complain about food, but we had to on this occasion, not a good experience

We left very disappointed with our meal: A steak that was requested medium and served very rare, then supposedly put back on the griddle but looked no different when it was re-served. A pizza with a tiny sprinkle of cheese which was then taken away and more cheese was plonked on top. Chicken Pasta dish with 3 pieces of bite size chicken.By this point, I’d lost interest in the meal and gave up. Overall the worst meal I’ve had there which is a shame because a few years ago I used to think it was a fair meal for what you paid. Sadly that is not the case now. Avoid unless you want to end up with being ripped off for a poor quality meal. Next time I’d rather go McDonalds… and that’s saying something!

We popped in for some post cinema food. The fettuccine bolognese was surprisingly tasty, although it’s a chain restaurant the food was very tasty and well presented. The service was really good, was greeted on arrival and seated in a nice booth. Kids were provided with a colouring pad and crayons. The atmosphere was great and child friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I had a meal in a well known Italian restaurant a few nights ago, the food & the service in Frankie & Benny’s was far better. Thanks to Mike & the team.

I used to enjoy this restaurant I have not been for years. Went on a Fri for a birthday meal. Children were happy with the pizzas. The steak was fatty with no flavour. The burgers pink in the middle did not looked cooked. Customer service was not great waited a long time for orders half came out then waited a while for the other part of the order. Not the same atmosphere that it did have

AMY is an amazing front of house staff member!! She greeted us with a smile and checked on us when our food arrived. She really is a lovely person and hard worker. It was my first time here at the Plymouth Frankie and Benny’s near vue cinema and I will definitely be back! Thank you Amy:)

So I'm still sat in the restaurant and after over an hour our door arrives and the chicken pasta dish has no chicken in it. The waitress we had was very apologetic and worked to get it sorted and we got a free round of drinks However something is wrong here as many parties were getting up and leaving after a looong wait.

Food come out fast that’s after they came out 15mins after taken order to say something sold out! Eat food then had to wait 40mins for them to come back and clear table (they didn’t ) just asked if we wanted the check! We said never mind we didn’t want deserts (shocking service) we just asked for the check.

Went with my kids for mothers day. We had a reservation so were seated and served promptly. We all love the italo American style food and desserts. Good value for money as well. No complaints

We are currently 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant and yet it has taken more than an hour and a half for our food to arrive. I can see the kitchen from our table and the chefs are stood there on their phones. For a restaurant as popular as this, it should not take this long for service. It’s unacceptable.

We have been sitting at are table for an hour waiting for our food we are all currently sat on our phone I don't normally complain but when there is only 2 tables sat down to eat and the chefs are stood talk and walk up and down to get drinks its unacceptable the service is slow

The food was delicious and flavourful. I had the arrabbiata pasta and I would definitely order it again. Lots of options on the menu, so you will never be short of choice. Our server, Amy, was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend to anyone.

Although the serving staff were excellent and attentive, any notes on our food preferences were totally missed by the chiefs. There is definitely a big communication problem, luckily, nothing serious came from it and the orderes were changed quickly after the mistakes were highlighted.

Mya was absolutely lovely and we had a wonderful time here! Great service, being able to use a taste card was lovely. Would really recommend the new hot honey burger! :)

It was a busy Saturday evening, but we managed to get a table, the food was great and the sevice was amazing, especially from Amy, our waitress, she was very friendly and helpful.

Amy provided excellent service to us throughout our time at Frankie and Benny's Plymouth. Has a good atmosphere, only minor snag was having a brioche bun for hotdog. I personally don't like that but thats a matter of my personal taste and not a failure from the service providers or Fanky and Bennys.
