Frankie & Benny's in South Gloucestershire

Me and a few friends went to dine at this branch today and didn’t have the best experience, though it wasn’t awful we just weren’t pleased. Firstly, we were sat on a round table by perhaps the host or runner? And when our waiter came over we were asked to move as they had a reservation for a round table? We moved with no hassle not a problem for us, these things happen but then turned to see that there was an exact same table a few more tables back. He was very lovely at first with a warm welcome, drinks were ran shortly and food order was taken. Food took about 30-40 mins which we didn’t mind we could see they were short on staff and it was a weekend and as a hospitality worker myself these circumstances are understandable. However food came and it wasn’t the best, pizza and garlic bread was hardly cut and really overcooked bread was very hard from being burnt. Mozzarella dippers were hollow throughout meaning they were cooked for too long. When the waiter came it was a bit of a rushed check back and we didn’t really have time too feedback, we mentioned to him that we had ordered 4 sauces with him and only 3 came and there was a little of bit of unnecessary attitude and disagreement with this when he could of just said that it was a misunderstanding and grabbed the extra sauce when he had a spare minute, because of the food quality and communication from the server we resulted in wanting to discuss our experience with the manager. The manager was a great help and could see the poor quality of the food as soon as he came to the table. He apologised about this and took the necessary items of the bill and added a discount. He dealt with us very well and we’re pleased with his understanding and help. With a price rise we agreed that the price we was paying wasn’t quite worth it. Overall these mistakes can easily be fixed and this is not a sign to not go there but just me sharing our experience.

Amazing place, the staff members are kind and helpful, the food is very good and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. I have dined here several times, and each time I was not disappointed. They offer discounts if you have movie tickets from VUE, which makes it an excellent place for an after-film meal. If you are in the area, I highly recommend it!

A great meal from start to finish! I was welcomed very politely as I entered. The restaurant was clean, tidy and had a good buzz/atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and was severed very promptly. The staff really went above and beyond and made our meal very enjoyable indeed.

Steve O our server was very helpful. He couldn't do enough for us especially as we were vegetarian and my partner Gluten Free. He spent time explaining our options. Thank you Steve!

Andy made the whole trip! Child/toddler friendly! Gave us a booth so my daughter could sit with us! Food was really good from the new American menu! Lots on the kids menu Whatever Andy is on wage wise we deservers double!!

I’ve got a soft spot for F&B, been years since I've gone and for old times sake, my brother and I went after the cinema. In short, my pepperoni pizza was cheap and nasty. Like a Tesco value special. No quality or flavour. My brother’s BBQ chicken pizza was basically bread and bbq sauce. They’ve stretched the margins too far and have low quality food. Staff were nice enough. No issue there. Sad times lol. Won’t go back again, even though I have a free main meal voucher. In this day and age there’s no excuse to serve such bland, salty and low quality food. It’s of my opinion this is a corporate decision, same prices as everyone else, lower quality, bigger return on sale. Sad times.

The quietest place I've ever eaten on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately food was very average.

Myself and a colleague came here for work reasons with our students. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and turned our order around in record time as we were on a tight time frame due to working for the ambulance service. The food was good and very reasonably priced. The service was far better than what we received at Nandos. I would certainly recommend dining here and would definitely come back. We visited Frankie & bennies today, had exceptional food, service from Steve was outstanding (as always) always very friendly, has an amazing memory, always remembers what we have or want. Makes a very tasty espresso martini. Highly recommended

We got seated very quickly and the waiter was very quick to take our order. Food arrived at a good pace and a good temperature. Steak quite poor, cooked correctly but a very budget steak and for the £20 price tag we felt it was very overpriced. Pizza faultless. Cocktail not great, extremely bitter. Waiter definitely needs lessons on how to make them. Would not return again as it’s gone down hill a lot. Shame as it used to be a very good place to go. No atmosphere at all. Very quiet. No music.

Wonderful dinner today at Frankie and Bennys Longwell Green. Thanks to Steve for wonderful service and making sure everything was great. Steve always go out his way and make sure that you are happy and great service as always!

American diner style food with finesse. As a vegetarian there were a few choices but felt a little limited and with flair. The food was tasty though. When asking for a garlic bread bare in mind its a big share portion not a single serving. Good size portions. Good flavours. Desserts to die for! OMG wonderfully indulgent. Pricing is on the higher end.

Server was friendly. Food quite pricey. My pizza was burnt on edges and when asked if food was ok server ignored me so I told him at the end and his response no worries. My favourite part is the edges so not being able to eat that for an overpriced pizza was very disappointing. We asked for birthday cake to be brought out before desserts which it was but as soon as the candles were blown out server then took desert orders which then kids wanted deserts which they couldn't eat as was full with the cake. So the whole experience was disappointing and not the standard I've had there before

Visited my daughter for Easter took them all out on Saturday 30th March to Frankie and Bennys. Stephen was our waiter and he was amazing. Our little boy is Autistic and they were very good we accommodating to his needs. We will definitely be back.

Came in when pub on site had low staff and over an hour wait for food. F&B were also short staffed, straight in and food within 15 minutes... Great service, reasonable prices and good food before a cinema visit...

Spaghetti bolognese with lovely highly me recommended

We were a big party of 11 and we did not have a booking, but it was not a problem and was looked after very well.

Late, cold, congealed mess. It was honestly inedible even after reheating. The pasta was cooked so long it really thick and unpleasant. All of the food arrived stone-cold not even like-warm.

Really impressed with the level of service tonight, especially considering how busy they were. Steve was very efficient and friendly

Come here for my dads birthday a couple of weeks ago and the food was considerably better than last time I've visited the chain. The staff were helpful bringing a birthday cake out and playing a short happy birthday song. Will be back again.

Food is very dry at Frankie's. Binding. Lots of bread and batter and pizza crusts and huge burger buns. The service at this Frankie's is fantastic and the cocktails come as you would imagine they should. The burgers were great but again quite dry, and so much bread. We had 2 garlic pizza breads, one was burnt, one was undercooked, which suites us but is inconsistent. Even the pasta was very dry and chewy. Would eat here again but will try different choices next time

We ordered 'birdbox' that was accepted and was approved and apparently on the way. Only an hour later was it reported that it was cancelled and refunded. One of our friends called and was told 'its not our fault, the delivery drivers aren't picking up'. Don't bother.

We had a table of six yesterday and we were served by Steve (I think - this is the name on the receipt) and he was just the most genuine and lovely server we have ever had in a restaurant. He was patient when my daughter spilt a drink and very quickly replaced it, one of our meals came out with normal fries instead of sweet potato fries and that wasn’t a problem either he just replaced them. My daughter has sensory processing difficulties and spilling a drink on herself is cause for meltdown but everyone remained calm in the situation instead of making a fuss, including Steve (without knowledge of her difficulties). I was able to take her away from the situation and come back to the table with a happy child. He also crouched down and spoke to my toddler and made him laugh. The food was lovely, but the service was just impeccable and we will be back!

My family of 4 ate there as part of a birthday celebration. Our server was excellent with the kids and made us feel welcome too. The food came super quick considering how busy it was and tasted great. I had the NY Giant pizza which was crammed with flavour!

The food was really good, it's a family restaurant so expect some noise from children. Prices are pretty high but staff are great, overall a great experience.

Sadly Frankie & Bennys is no longer a "go to" place for us. 10 years ago, the decor was much nicer as it tried to ape the old school Italian American restaurants of the 1950's, but today's decor is bland and uninteresting. The wait for food was well over an hour, not remotely enough kitchen staff to cope, glad we didn't have the starters as that would have dragged the night on even further. The menu? A shadow of what it used to be, and £17.90 for a double burger and fries is Steak prices. £3.90 for a large Coke is beyond ridiculous, cheaper to drink alcohol. The food was simply OK, there isn't the choice their used to be, no more Little Italy Mussels, the pizza whilst freshly made wasn't exactly filling, not very large and thin. I wouldn't mind so much, but in the past it was quite expensive to eat there but then they had a much broader menu, today, not nearly as much and yet for four of us and a small child, our bill exceeded £100, and that was no starters and no desserts. The problem for me is I don't see Frankie & Bennys justified in charging that much anymore, it all feels very corporate chain, certainly not the same as a small independent restaurant that could charge that much, it feels like a slightly posher experience than Burger King or McDonalds. End of the road for us, our last time.

Amazing food and such caring and friendly staff. The meals arrived quickly and the cocktails and milkshakes we ordered were perfectly presented! The head chef Anna was excellent at accommodating my dietary needs and was very friendly whilst discussing the matter. On top of this, the portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Frankie and Bennies the service was phenomenal and I will be back very soon! 10/10

Not impressed at all with the service, as we were paying the woman that was serving us was huffing and puffing, whilst we were all trying to calculate it persons meal by food was too overcooked. My dessert was burnt. This was my partner’s birthday meal as well so definitely was not impressed. The manager on the other hand was very polite and helped us and help with what we needed help with another man, also laughed at my cousin for saying the other woman was very rude we do not appreciate being spoke to like this and definitely not being told if we don’t pay we don’t leave

To start the server was miserable made us feel uncomfortable from the start. Messed up my burger. Dessert was overcooked. The server was so rude at the end getting frustrated huffing and puffing and then got another staff member involved who was even more rude when I explained its unacceptable to treat customers that way and he laughed in my face. The manager was lovely and sorted everything out but definitely wasn't worth the stress and the service we received was disgusting and a birthday meal was completely ruined

Ordered 2 cheese burgers, 1 normal and 1 with added streaky bacon, but both were normal, i.e 1 was missing the bacon added at extra cost. Requested delivery for 7pm, delivered at 7.38pm - fortunately my daughter was back later than expected so didn't cause much of an issue. Otherwise food was nice, maybe a bit more sauce/meat with the beef fettucine would be better.

Ordered 2 BBQ crispy chicken burgers on Uber Eats. 1 Chicken Burger came and it was inedible and chewy. Never going back here again!

Went for my daughters birthday. Food was good and they made a big fuss of her bringing out cake and singing etc.

We thought we’d try here after not going here for a while and we shouldn’t have bothered as it was terrible!! The service we received from the waitress was good, but the food was awful. My partner ordered spaghetti bolognaise only they brought it out as all spaghetti with no bolognaise!!! When we asked where the meat was they went and put it on, but it was clearly from a tin or container my partner couldn’t eat it! The rest of the meals were OK but it just isn’t worth the money. Frankie and bennys used to be good years ago, but now they’ve got less on the menu, no deals and higher prices and it just isn’t worth it. Overall a massive disappointment and we won’t be returning for a long time.

Haven’t been to a f&b in bout 10 years all I remember is the pizza came unsliced and was delicious .. went yesterday and it was like a vending machine pizza diabolical tbh and the “ skin on fries” was hard and cold .. All came within 5 mins of ordering Friendly service Probably wouldn’t ever go again considering it isn’t what it used to be

Food good but was missing the included sweetcorn side from the meal deal. Requested time 7.05 but was approx 20-30 mins afterwards (however the later time fortunately suited us due to unforeseen circumstances!)

We had an amazing time here and John our server was quick and very nice , we had bbq brisket loaded fries and they are amazing will come back just for them alone , pizzas are big enough for 2 and kids loved the mac and cheese we will be back very soon x

This was a terrible terrible takeaway. I had a freezing cold pizza delivered & it didn’t include the extra pepperoni I paid for. Chips tasted stale and honestly were so bad we couldn’t eat them. My two friends went for the overpriced ribs as said it was super hard to get the bone off the meat. Gutted really as this was a proper treat and very overpriced and disappointing. Everything was so cold and stale. Never again.

While the picture really doesn't do it justice, this BBQ Brisket Loaded Fries was absolutely incredible. So yummy! Fries were perfectly cooked - fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. The meat was fabulous and tasty. All in all the ratio of each ingredient was perfect! One of the best loaded fries combos I've had and would 100% get again. Highly recommend! Got this via Uber eats, delivery was pretty fast and food arrived hot :)

They have cut down hugely on the menu and the price has shot up really quickly for you average tasting mean

3hours after order was placed i received a phone call from the driver. Told the driver it was 3hrs late and he said he still needed to deliver the food. The driver still did not turn up and food was never delivered.

F&B's used to be a destination, like TGIs, but has changed into nothing more than an expensive Wetherspoons, which is a shame. The theme has entirely disappeared - the bench seating and a few modern murals of NYC remain, but the music is now modern (JLS instead of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra? 🤮), and the interesting black and white photos of old are gone. Gone with them is the authentic dishes there used to have. The menu is now 100% run of the mill pub food - you can get this anywhere, done just as well, or better, for cheaper. Not the fault of this branch - staff were very good, friendly and quick, but head office need to go back to their roots. I won't bother going here again 😞

Not at all like the Frankie and Bennys I remember. Cheap preprepared microwaved food.

Burgers meals all good. Meatballs also good. Feedback from those who had the normal fettucine bolognese felt they were a bit light on the bolognese sauce, but otherwise tasted good and quantity also fine.

First time I just had stacks burgers from there and we'll I ain't never left a review in my life I leave that to other people but I was actually highly disappointed with it for how much it costs I had it delivered and in my opinion there nothing special or even nice or different about I'd sooner go to macdonalds sorry for the negative review but at £37 for 2 burgers with chips and 1 onion rings not to forget my 2 drinks missing and 1 chips.

I only had a coffee but my BiL's meal looked good. Staff were friendly, and the restaurant nice and clean.

Love F&B’s! Came in last week for cheese burger and fries, it was hot, a generous sized portion and tasted lovely As usual. Will definetely come back! Definetely recommend too! ♥️

Really lovely food and great service

Impromptu visit. Food was very nice. Didn't have to wait long. Not that busy but got busier as time went on. Special offer on when we went, kids eat free, so the grand kids loved it.

Arrived at 5pm and eventually got food well over an hour later. Literally watched takeaway orders flying out the door - definitely had priority over in-restaurant customers. Food was dull and greasy and compared to my local sizzler pub, I'd rather pay half the price for comparable food at the sizzler.

All the staff are super friendly and professional. Even though it is expensive it is delicious and it was surprisingly fast. I would come again except with my parents so they can pay.

Just want to say i love the rack of ribs they do here. Love this place, but last time we went in for 3 adults and 2 kids for a two course it was £85, ouch, so dont think i will be going back again soon. Also i dont know why they went from serving ribs on plates, to serving them on trays with paper underneath, which falls apart as you are eating/cutting. Please change back to using plates.

Big portions, flavoursome food. Friendly and attentive service without being fake. The restaurant was quite quiet on a Thursday night but that was actually quite nice. The staff encouraged us to sing for somebody's birthday, which was sweet. Nice mocktails.

Mothers day!! Wow greeted by awall of noise,, table for 8? Cramped seating, ask to move to a bigger table, no, a bright waitress added another table!! "" another hour and we got food, 10 minutes later i got mine!!! 🤑 It was really good, out front not good,, i don't live here so won't be visiting again soon!!
