Franco's Aintree in Liverpool

Arrived at the restaurant as a group or 4 and was kindly greeted to the table by the friendly manager Josh. After the waiter swiftly took our orders they had more than pleased us by providing us with our cocktails: Our starters came and we were left without any issues and no complaints. We then proceeded to order our main which was delightfully took down by our amazing waiter. Staff always seemed to be on their toes despite being the Christmas period. The service provided by Francis far exceed what was expected including the exceptional service from the manager Josh himself. Would 100% recommend and not have any compliments regarding the manager and staff. Overall, would definitely recommend as they had resolved all our issues and provided an excellent level of customer service.

Food was to die for, also a brilliant selection of drinks to choose from and the staff were very polite and required to our every need. Would highly recommend dining here if you enjoy Italian food or are just passing through the area, also a brilliant.

Came here as a group of 6 adults and 1 child for my partner's mum's birthday. We waited half an hour for starters and had to ask multiple times for the staff to check when they would be ready, of which their response would be, "in a minute" every time. The table wasn't dressed properly so we had to ask for more cutlery, to which we were given knives and forks in a wine cooler bucket as if it were self service. We then had to instruct the staff to take our plates away when we were finished with starters after waiting 20 mins for them to come. When the main meals did arrive, it was evident that very cheap ingredients were used and I could honestly make a better meal at home. We were very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service and they weren't genuinely apologetic or going to offer any compensation/goodwill gesture at all until one of our party spoke to the manager. He had a very bad attitude and a bad temper but agreed to take the starters off the bill. The experience completely ruined the occasion. If you happen to be in the area, just avoid this place and go to the Turkish restaurant down the road.

This was our second to Francos. Food is excellent. Service is great. We were a party of 8. We were looked after excellently. All the food came out on time and was hot. We will definitely be back

Maybe we were just unlucky on our visit but it was terrible - empty restaurant, a waiter who didn't want to be there, blandest soggy rubbery squid, i couldn't finish my pizza, cheap mozzarella, tasteless tomato, uncooked centre. The banquette seat and table top were sticky and the whole place needs a proper clean.

Lovely food, huge portions and friendly staff. What more could you want . Clean loos too! We had cheesy garlic bread which was awesome and 2 pasta dishes. Mine was spicy and delicious.

I’d like to give a big shout-out for Franco’s Italian Restaurant in Aintree. For the second year running, myself and a small team have been allocated a working point right outside Franco’s on the junction of Melling Road / Warbreck Moor as part of the Grand National Festival. The team at Franco’s could not have been more accommodating and friendly towards us. Franco’s is an excellently located choice for delicious race day breakfasts and serves food throughout the day had a great buzz after racing with live music and dancing. The entire team at Franco’s extend the kind of absolutely genuine welcome and service that can only be found in Liverpool. Highly recommended.

If you’re wanting authentic Italian food this is NOT the place to go! Bland flavourless food, mostly frozen ingredients jazzed up to look more authentic. Very disappointing! Packet chicken like what you get at the chilled section at the supermarket, bland tomato sauce that tastes like it was from a smart price jar, frozen meatballs also very bland. Didn’t bother with desert as starters and main were a huge disappointment. What a waste of money we definitely will not be bothering with this place again.

Excellent service however I ordered chicken Arrabbiata, the chicken had no taste and the texture and shape of tofu. With that said I would return as the people I ate with had lasagne and carbonara and both were delicious.

Ate at Franco's mid week. Offer on certain days 30% off pasta and pizza. I had the tempura prawns to start and husband had the meat balls - everything tasted great. Mains husband had the lasagne and i had the chicken pasta bake. We shared a garlic cheese bread with the mains. Service good and everywhere very clean. Just a stroll from bus stop on the A59 and 10 minutes stroll from Aintree Station.

Found this Italian restaurant while I went for a Sunday walk and loved every second. I started with a strawberry lime cider and then got the best pizza Hawaii I've ever had, followed by a beer to end my feast. Pablo is a boss lad, no more to say. Will deffo come again and can really recommend this place!

Amazing! Drove past this place so many times and often want to call in but never get round to it. So glad I brought my friend here tonight for a catch up and belated birthday. Service was spot on and food was delicious and lots of it! The bill came in and was cheap as chips! So so happy with this place! Will be coming back for sure! It was my mums birthday on the 20th December. Sadly, she passed away on the 6th, so we went out as a family for a meal and to raise a glass for her. I’ve often driven past Franco’s and wondered what it was like so I decided to book. What can I say!!! Absolutely fabulous food, service and prices. We all really enjoyed it, and I’m sure my mum would have if she were there. Well done to everyone front and back of house. Don’t go to this gaff, the food is piss poor. Looks and tastes like they’ve just pulled it out of a Tesco bag and put it on your plate. Trust me, save your money and to elsewhere.
