I doubt u will get a bigger piece of fish in St Austell. Friendly staff and not expensive.

Haven't been for a while and have to admit cod was tasteless and chips were hard , disappointing as was really looking forward to not cooking 😕

Food is always nice and tasty from here.

Absolutely belter of fish and chip portion sizes are on point fish is lovely but they have upped there prices which is becoming quite expensive now they have always been good value for money so we have gone else where for now £12-£13 for a large fish and chips (there prices have now increased again I believe) no longer good value for money nor worth our 10 miles ther and 10 miles back that we would normally travel for it shame there getting greedy to be honest

First class fish chips, pies, burgers kebabs etc etc. Massive portions friendly service. You can phone your order in for a speedy collection as they don't deliver. Best chipshop in St. Austell.

Best fish and chips we had in years, consistent too. Portions ginormous. Regular cod and chips will easily feed two.

I've always enjoyed eating from Francines but the value for money is not that great anymore. £3.80 for a spam fritter is a joke and the same price for chicken and mushroom that had hardly any filling in it. I won't be going there much anymore.

Quick service. Very generous portions of fish, chips and chicken shish kebab.Lots of salad in the kebab! Regular chips was easily enough for 2. All well cooked and tasty. We would visit again.

It's OK. We use this when our usual is closed. The portion size is ridiculously large and they do savaloys unlike other chippies but lately the food has become very greasy and leaves a nasty after taste that lingers for 2 days.

Really good fish here! Chips are quite good too. Prices are in line with other local fish & chip shops. The place seems busy, its clean, well organised and the food is great so it's not surprising. There is not a huge amount of on street parking but there is a council owned carpark opposite.

Best Chippy by a long way in the South of Cornwall. All cooked in Beef dripping and all cooked fresh to order. Great sized portions, you will struggle to eat the large Cod and chips. I couldn't do it. 😆

Flipping awesome. Waiting a while but well worth it. Staff are lovely too even though they are rushed off their feet. Totally recommended.

Food is made fresh so factor in a little wait time. The batter is made with beef dripping and is TO DIE FOR. One of the best battered fish I've ever had. Chips were great. Staff are polite, efficient, and smart looking.

Recommended by the lady in the Kelly Ice cream shop in Charlestown. Ate it on Carlyon Bay with a double rainbow in the background. Perfect end to our sweet little 3 day holiday.

I had the chicken Shish kebab and it was truly delicious and very big portion sizes. My partner had fish and chips and really enjoyed that. Kids meals was excellent too.

Only disappointment is parking, but best chippy about.

Large size portions, a bit too much for one person but plenty of you like to share. Fish was very tasty. Both fish and chips were cooked well. Good value for money and I will happily visit again.

This seemed like a very popular local fish and chip shop, we stopped half an hour before they were due to close! So glad to get served. The fish was delicious however we didn't enjoy the chips as much, still would be worth another try.

Really good value for money...we had a takeaway from here with friend's and the large fish and chips x 4 was huge.. it was like a whale..but also good quality...i would have given 5 stars but chips although were good was the only thing i could fault it on but very slightly We have already been back it was that good... I am amending my review today(may 23) to 5 stars.. As i called in at approx 8.30 last night and they had shut or were closing, but the man said come in i will serve you which i thought was really nice and then for him to make all we wanted fresh was amaizing..nice to see old fashioned business attitude with first class customer service in this day and age.. Thank you and well done. We have recommended you to anyone who will listen... We will be back next holiday

Not even deserved a 1 star. I went to the shop on 20/4/2023 so just a few days ago. Ordered a chicken wrap and it wasn’t even warm , so obviously not cooked properly. Had a large cheesy chips to share with my partner and they were awful , covered in oil and all soggy. The day after started feeling ill, woke up about 4 times in the night and was sick around 12 times!! My legs were shaking obviously telling me something wasn’t right . Never going to this shop again absolute disgusting food 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

Always good here ,portion size is always spot on,and the fish is lovely can't quite give it 5 starts as the food in the hot cabinet just needs to be slightly hotter for me,my savoloy was cold .shame but I'm sure it can be sorted

Stayed with friends for the night in St Austell we went to Francine's for a take out dinner. Food was lovely with absolutely huge portions, could save money with slightly smaller portions as most of mine went to waste. A fantastic chippie, very popular, really well cooked food and plenty of choice. Definitely the best fish and chips we've had in a long time and very generous portions. We'll definitely be back in the future and very happy to recommend.

Couldn't believe we found this place as we normally stay in Newquay and there's a francines there (They are the same family). Always delicious and cooked in beef dripping. Fish & chips, sausage in batter and their spicy curry sauce are all must trys! There's nothing else you can say its 5 stars.. yes you have to wait for its all cooked to order. Fish had thick white flakes and you couldn't eat a portion of chips to yourself. Will visit again when back visiting family!

Oh me gosh! Just had our first ever cod and chips on a spur of the moment stop off … out of the corner of my eye I noticed a sign saying “we fry in beef dripping”. I knew then that it would be a winner and it did not disappoint! Great tasting chips - the perfect combination of crispy and yet also soggy from all the vinegar and the cod was cooked to perfection. Good value for money too and the place was very clean. We will go back. Probably often.

Fish was overcooked, we ordered haddock but got cod which was terrible, staff don't listen to what's being asked. Not good.

So disappointed this time . Chips were horrid . Hard dry and tbh picked out the best ones which were a handful. Shame as always found them the best for chips so 🤞 they sort it

OK it's a chippy so what more can I say. We'll great value for money, and massive portions. Chips not greasy, can't say on the cod but my folks enjoyed them. FYI large Chips can feed two people 🤣😋🤪 underestimated the meaning of large. Slight wait but worth it. Would I use again? Yep.

Make sure your hungery huge portions

Long wait last week outside when it was pelting down and having to wait on the pavement. After a long wait, the food was good but not as many chips that I expected, also the chips were slightly soggy and undercooked, the fisth was very nice. My advice is that you should employ another member of staff to help with the cooking and ensure that your chips are cooked for a few minutes more. Apart from this, lovely fish!

Great value fish and chippy. Liked the fish and chips. Was able to order online but waited 25mins. Recommend ring to order ahead. Limited parking but bigger car park opposite.
