Just came in for coffee. Great flat white. Nice place and people.

Friendly staff and great coffee, oh and don't forget the food......mmmmm New York Stack.....They do have kids portions of the meals, but you have to ask.

Went with some friends and it was a lovely experience very welcoming staff and our barista Kate was fabulous . Would 1000% recommend visiting. The food was amazing and fresh and the cafe was very clean and hygienic! If you are in Carlise looking for a bite to eat it is definitely worth a visit. 🤩✨

Nice full English breakfast here. Vegetarian options available etc. Nice coffee, too. Can be busy though, so take your chances at finding a table. Was full to the brim when I visited. Service was a little slow, but understandable given the amount of customers.

The food took a bit of time to arrive but when it did it was very good. The price was very reasonable as well. I will be going back again.

Disappointing. £26 for an average coffee and a tasteless Earl Grey; the eggs benedict (without hollandaise on request) consisted of a barely toasted and dry, bordering on stale, muffin, two small rashers of very overcooked bacon and two poached eggs, one of which was hard and the other only just cooked; the All American Fox (no beans or syrup on request) was 3 small pancakes (from a packet I'm guessing) 3 rashers of streaky bacon, only one of which was (only just) edible the other two being incinerated in whatever implement they were cooked or reheated in, and therefore inedible, the sausage swirl that came with it was dry and overcooked, an anaemic and cold hashbrown on the side. Despite our orders being taken together they arrived separately at the table with at least a 5 minute wait between, so one breakfast (served on a cold plate) was cold by the time the other arrived, which was barely warm. Upon paying my husband was asked about the breakfasts and he explained about the very overcooked bacon. They still took full payment. We'll not be back.

What a find! We stumbled upon this lovely cafe as we were passing through Carlisle and we were so pleasantly surprised. Delicious food that was delivered quickly and with such a good portion size for your money, staff were super friendly and helpful aswell. We were in and out in 30 mins but it left such a good impression, we are going back again soon!

Absolutely 10/10 breakfast and coffee! I got the American Fox Breakfast with added black pudding. Highly recommend. Reasonably priced too

Great place, nice food and friendly staff.

Just had breakfast, it was really good. Unfortunately I didn’t realise they don’t take cash with card only payments. I feel very strongly about this modern trend and if I’d known I wouldn’t have gone in and gone somewhere else which is a real shame. I know I’m not the only one who feels like this and suggest the business owner rethinks their policy. It really winds me up!!!!!

Nine brunch place in Carlisle. Had the full English and tried a Cumberland sausage for the first time. Good selection of coffees.

Most boring unimaginative food. I asked for a Bagel veggie option without the egg. It as clearly a shop-bought bagel with tw0 pieces of processed cheese, freezing cold avocado and a slimy slice of tomato. The bagel was stone cold not even heated or toasted. Zero taste and absolutely no flavour. Complete waste of money. Didn’t even bother to give them feedback as it obvious they were not interested or empowered.

Dog friendly, cosy, great staff and the best cappuccino in Carlisle. Only downside, it is not wheelchair friendly.

had small breakfast costing £8, plus pot of tea for 1 costing £3. having read some other reviews, I was very disappointed at the quality, quantity, and content of the breakfast. I felt it was the very minimum to be called a breakfast. eg. no fried bread. no blackpudding. no mushrooms , no marmalade. whilst the content was low. I felt that the price for what it was , was high. compared to others in the locality, it was poor. I was surprised also, having left a tip in cash, that when I came to pay the bill by card, it specifically asked for a tip! I always thought tips were at the discretion of the customer, for good service., not to supplement poor wages. I shall not be going there again

Great staff, food and ambience. Today I had the carrot & coriander soup, with a tuna melt, absolutely cannot fault the food. We'll be back again, keep up the great standard.

Great little cafe but if I’m paying £15 for a breakfast I would expect the heating to be on at that price it must surely pay for a bit of warmth on a cold day

Good food but let down by poor service and being ignored whilst staff chat to each other and friends. Disappointing really as this used to be our go-to place in Carlisle.

Always go here for the events held, my only point is that they should expand their menu a little! But not a nit pick at all. Lovely place.

Food was delicious, but we had to wait half an hour for it. We both had pancakes. Our dog thought the bacon and sausage was very tasty.

Good vegetarian options. But the food itself was overpriced for what it is the avocado had no seasoning at all. Had a soya latte, and the coffee tasted burned.

Popped in yesterday afternoon for brunch. Many places were shut so we were thankful to see tables on the pavement when we approached. We had 2 types of pancake stack , absolutely delicious, friendly service and nice atmosphere, will return

One of my favourite brunch spots in Carlisle - the team are brilliant, they do excellent coffee and their Pancakes and Eggs Benedict are the perfect Sunday morning treat. Added bonus - they’re dog friendly!

Great little café with amazing staff, and the atmosphere is really nice.

Had a very disappointing sandwich. The bread was wet and soggy and the ham chewy and gristly. The salad also looked a bit sad. I took 2 bites and informed the waitress. She asked if I would like to swap it for something else. I had pancakes which were nice. I was then charged for the 2 meals which I was not expecting. I queried this but was told the waitress was only 16 and didn’t have authority to change it. Usually when you swap a meal you are not charged for both. Won’t be back!

Unable to give 6 stars for service but would if permitted. Lovely food, convivial atmosphere. What a gem.

Amazing place, amazing pancakes🥞

The food was pretty good and I had a great catch up with a friend but the staff weren't cleaning up the tables after customers leaving and going on their phone behind the counter and the toilet door is a bit awkward by that table where customers were sat . The cutlery was dirty so I had to ask for a new set , I'm guessing they have a machine that washes the dishes rather than hand washing

Tables a bit too close for me ,squeezed in, had conversations on both sides I didn't want to hear, a table right by the toilet door, as well.

Great place for a quick bite or something more substantial. We popped in here and tried the milkshake in an actual pint bottle! Blew our minds!! Tasted great. The staff were really friendly and accommodating with gluten-free/vegetarian options.

Definitely worth a visit. Stopped for lunch with two young boys and were relieved to find a box of toys and books for the little ones. Our 3 year old declared his vanilla milkshake to be the "best thing I've ever tasted". For the adults, Caesar Salad and Tuna Melt were excellent. It was great value: we got lunch and multiple drinks for four for £40. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Strong recommend.

Over priced “full fox breakfast” for what you get. Wasn’t nice. Coffees are good. Won’t be back.

Unfortunatley was unhappy today. I requested to change my type of egg & it had come to my suprise they can not change it. To change from a fried to a scrambled, i just dont understand how this requirement couldnt be done. Due to personal reasons i struggle eating various foods so now i have left hungry & disappointed. Thank you foxes.

Good vibes friendly folks and the younger ones gave me great respect for the elders coffee tea and alcohol served here nicely kept inside and clean would.visit.again

We live around here but never came across this cafe! Glad we've found another cafe that we can visit to get proper coffee and brunch food.

Toddler friendly Great cosy atmosphere, lovely food and the staff are brilliant, they really go above and beyond. I brought my 2 year old and they were fab with him, great comfy highchairs (the ikea ones) and they brought a box of wooden toys to play with along with some lovely books. There are foxes hidden around the cafe that we enjoyed finding. Highly reccommend.

There was dead flies in a cobweb and a need for dusting/sweeping. We received a friendly greeting but had to wait too long to place our order, then also for drinks and food. The board outside advertises food that isn’t on the menu. The apple juice was concentrated.

Card only payment. It was my first visit here. A delightful and busy little cafe close to the Cathedral and Tullie. There's on street disc parking nearby, and with its close proximity to the city centre, there are ample car parks to choose from. There are good public transport links to the city as well. Dogs are allowed. Helpful and friendly staff who were very efficient. A good choice of hot and cold beverages, to sit in or take away. The cups are fabulous. They all have something descriptive written on the bottom. What will yours say? A wide choice of breakfasts, including vegetarian and vegan. Light meals and sweet treats are available, too. The cafe is split across two levels. The upper level is accessed by stairs. This is where the compact toilet facilities are located. I want to go again to sample more of the menu. Today, I went with the Little Foxes breakfast, Earl Grey tea, and a chocolate Brownie.

First time visitors to foxes, we weren't disappointed. One full foxes breakfast and a bagel, with cheese egg and bacon bagel, all freshly cooked. We'd originally stopped to have breakfast at dobies garden centre, but it looked awful and dried up, so decided to head further into town. Foxes is near the cathedral, in a lovely area of town. The cafe staff were lovely, the cafe clean and cute, love the furniture and decor. My cappuccino was hot, as I like it, not lukewarm. Gorgeous place, with nice food and atmosphere.

Found this place online while driving through carlisle heading to do part of Haidrians wall, we found it easy and we loved it! the food was lovely and the service was 1st class.

This place is now my favourite breakfast place! The eggs are amazing and everything is perfect. The chocolate milkshakes are on point, and I recommend this little, tucked away cafe to anyone looking for a breakfast place to meet up with friends or meet new people. Everyone is really friendly!

Went here during trip to Carlisle. Great chilled out atmosphere. Super service. Food was yummy, The American Fox was memorable. The eggs in the eggs Benedict could have been bit runnier. The Mocha was delicious, one of best i've had. Loved the names at bottom of coffee cups. Highly recommended.

Food is always lovely here. The white hot chocolate is absolutely divine. The customer service is always good. Close to The Cathedral and the castle for Carlisle visitors.

We came here last minute for lunch and it was brilliant. The staff were absolutely lovely and always had a smile on their face. The food was very nice. Will 100% be back.

Fantastic place for breakfast! I loved the atmosphere, it was extremely cozy. The food was delicious, maybe the best bacon I've ever had. I loved the berry and banana pancakes too. If you're in the area definitely stop in here for breakfast. The waitresses were kind and they were very quick with everything too. Even the music selection was fun!

Stopped here for breakfast yesterday, which was lovely! I had a gluten free cooked breakfast, and my partner had a vegetarian cooked breakfast, both were great! Quick, and friendly service, and a nice quiet little lounge.

Had a lovely breakfast here with my daughter while visiting Carlisle. The coffee was good too. Staff were very friendly and gave us advice of places to visit. We went to Tullie Museum after which is just over the road and an antique shop in the Cathedral grounds that one of the girls told us about. Thank you, can’t wait to come back.

The staff were very welcoming, our food arrived quickly considering how busy the place was. My little one Loved the teddy bear art, very impressive. I’ve heard good things about Foxes and I wasn’t disappointed. 🦊

Two girls were very rude pretty much rolled their eyes at me as I asked to order while one stood around and rolled a fag. The food was awful the sausage was like it was mirowaved couldn’t even get a knife through it. Only one member of staff (dark, short hair with glasses) was helpful. Unwelcoming experience, expensive, awful food never again.

Very friendly service but the food was below average. We had full breakfast and pancakes. Our order was delivered very quick, too quick. It couldn't be freshly prepared in the short time so it must have been reheated/microwaved. Food was not properly warm. Prices are ok.
