Fox Reformed in Hackney

Do yourself a favour and visit this Stoke Newington gem. Great independent wine bar, unpretentious, friendly, delicious value for money food with a perfect little outdoor area for catching some sunshine!

Has estado aquí quizás 20 años ... solía ser Fin de la Chase como era bastante lujoso. Presentamos negar la hace unas pocas semanas y no pude conseguir una mesa así que esta noche nos llamó por adelantado. sensación muy acogedor bar de vinos y el agradable y atento servicio. Ambos tenían charcutería, absolutamente bien, abadejo ahumado, pero he comido un plato principal, muy bueno, ravioles, casero, agradable. Nada terriblemente especial, pero no está tan mal. Clasificado como muy buena, lo que no era bastante pero la próxima una abajo es normal y es un poco mejor que eso. Bill era menos de lo que pensé que iba a ser. Volveremos algún día.

En Stoke Newington Church Street, un autobús de Angel, así que no hay excusa. El Fox reformado dispone de un elegante bar de vinos y es, junto con un menú lo suficientemente bueno para calificar como un restaurante decente. Hay una cálida bienvenida y consejos prácticos sobre las opciones. Recomendado.

Acabo de disfrutar de una de las mejores hamburguesas vegetarianas que he tenido en mucho tiempo en este encantador bar/restaurante de vinos en Stoke Newington. El brioche pan casero de hinojo, rematando sabroso Patty crudite con cebolla y chutney de mozzarella con gusto. acompañada de patatas fritas gordas y ensalada, ñam ñam! Sin duda comer aquí.

El poco/bistro bar encantador en Stoke Newington Church St. un ambiente tranquilo y relajado comparado con el de otros muchos de la actividad frenética de bullicio y bares de la zona. La familia propietaria y tun, todo casero (y se nota) hasta el pan recién horneado. buena comida, bebidas grandes y variados lista y el personal es amable, muy mucho mi tipo de lugar, no lo puedo recomendar más!

Uno de los mejores, si no el mejor, lugares para comer, beber y pasar por aquí. excelente carta de vinos, cervezas locales, calidad Lagers y una amplia variedad de deliciosa comida.

Nos decidimos entrar para una cena del viernes por la noche. personal muy amable y un gran ambiente.

Cuando fuimos a la Fox reformado nos sorprendió la "autenticidad" del lugar. parece ser una extraña descripción, explicaré yo. estoy 43 y en los años 80 (Dios me hace sentir viejo escribiendo esta jajaja) me encantaba bares de vino. Si no fuera por los años 80 puede que no sabes a lo que me refiero pero durante los últimos años he estado en muchos (muchos) bares y han encontrado que los nuevos bares de vino falta algo o intenta incluir dicho algo en un esfuerzo para reproducir el ambiente auténtico. El Fox es un real, correcto bar de vinos como solían ser que es debido al hecho de que ha sido en la misma familia durante 30 años extraños. No me malinterpretes, estaba impecablemente limpio y bien hecha. Es maneja el hijo de los dueños con una pasión por su trabajo que es raro hoy en día. Él tiene un conocimiento enciclopédico de sus bebidas (Pregúntale por sus rones) y claramente ama su trabajo y su bar. La comida es absolutamente perfecto (mismo chef por nueve años aparentemente). Me encanta este pequeño bar y sin duda me volveré otra vez.

Popped into the fox after many years, and had a great time. We both had steaks , salad and chips. This sounds simple it was , but cooked perfectly! Our wine a Shiraz was excellent and the service, first class. We were served by young courteous staff who were attentive and somewhat old school in there approach, very refreshing to see that today. Decor is as I remember it some 20 years ago but pleasant , and cosy, very 80's bistro . Hope to make this a regular haunt especially as we live close by .

Food midweek is excellent but have never been at weekends when the menu is quite different. Needless to say, lovely wines. Less obviously, the place is run by and frequented by some very nice, interesting people indeed.

This was our 3rd visit, not one of regular sunday roast venues but thought we would give it a go. Do I regret it ? no. Was it strange ? yes. We opted for the veggie roast, what came to our table was as I sad odd. The gravy was curried.....and I mean very curried........4hours later i can still taste it. Funny really as we nearly went for an indian. The food was acceptable but nothing special.The desserts we had, brulee (undercooked) and cheesecake covered in cocca powder (it was a lemon cheesecake) were just ok.Service was acceptable, but the experienced sligtly tainted by a very loud couple who engaged the staff in a very loud conversation about paris and the french. Both not a patch on cyprus apparently. Will we go back........probably not for a while but I am glad its there,

We love dropping in to the Fox Reformed for a simple meal, or even just a glass of wine. Chess, backgammon and other games available, plus bust of Edgar Allen Poe who has a Stoke Newington Connection.

The fox is local to us, we've eaten here a few times & been for drinks at other times. The food has always been lovely & they have a great little courtyard garden out the back. Good offering of wines & beers and we've always had excellent service. Would recommend as a great alternative to the gastro-pub offerings on church st - it's a little calmer & more cosy.

The wine selection here is very good and they also have some good bottled beer and ale. The steaks are consistently good. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable - a great place to go if you want a 'quiet night in' but don't want to flop at home in front of the TV. There is backgammon and decent reading material (e.g. New Statesman, New Scientist etc). The music is unobtrusive. The small courtyard at the back is a nice spot when the weather's good.

nice little local restaurant with a small bar and garden. We both ate fillet Steaks that were very good. service was also good. There are games (backgammon) at the bar and the place is casual and local. Wine selection was good. Enjoyed the atmosphere but feel it was a little overpriced but to most Americans almost all of London is! Would eat there again.

Lovely wine. Food very diappointing. There was barely any meat on our Sunday lunch pork (as my boyfriend said, 'which bits are edible?'), lumpy gravy and the smallest amount of vegetables. 2 bits of carrot and and 3 pieces of courgette. It was warm though. Will need to eat again tonight to fill in the gaps. Not great for a £10 Sunday lunch.
