Old Kings Head in Hackney

Lovely atmosphere, a good selection of beers. It was very busy but there was no trouble, everyone was there for a good time. I will definitely be returning.

We only came for drinks but had a wonderful time. We sat outside and watched the world go by with reasonably priced drinks

The old kings head is a traditional little pub quite near Liverpool Street it has a very good range of lagers and ales quite good London prices for the beer and the staff were lovely and friendly.

Popped in for lunch yesterday with 2 of my boys whilst waiting to go to Bounce. The food was amazing and excellent value. The staff were very polite and there was no wait to be served even tho the pub got very busy quickly after we arrived. The no ball games sign above gents toilets made my 10 yr old laugh a lot🤣

Nice place, decent beer selection. The only thing that spoiled it was being bundled out a bit aggressively by security when they decided to close the place randomly at around 10:20pm on Friday evening even though it's meant to be open until 11..

We had breakfast here on an easy tuesday morning. We kind of stopped here randomly to enjoy the atmosphere and weren’t disappointed. Food and service is nothing fancy but OK and we definitely got the ol’ bri’ish experience. Coffee is made of nesoresso (like) capsules which is funny but OK.

Staff were crazy friendly and helpful ! Got served almost immediately and found a spot to sit at in no time. Wish I had more time to spend there as the food smelt really nice, especially the fish and chips

Absolutely love this pub, the new lights are far too bright though. Had to fight this guy off earlier, it’s an accident waiting to happen

The quintessential home pub! The staff is lovely, the beer delicious and people kind. It’s like being in a small pub out in the country but you’re in the heart of Shoreditch! Highly recommend for a pint or two.

Decently priced pints in a cozy classic British pub. However we asked for Ales and they gave us IPAs which is not the same thing. Cozy place though!

A proper pub with superb burgers.

Just went for team lunch and had a Halloumi wrap, was quite tasty and yumm. Service was quite quick. I am non alcoholic however team seemed to enjoy the pub grub. Definitely affordable compared to other outlets in the area!

This is a good size traditional corner boozer with no frills or gimmicks. The beer was good and the food is very reasonably priced, they are open from 8am for those in search of a full english. The atmosphere was lively on this busy Tuesday evening with plenty of office workers enjoying an after work drink. Billy Ocean (Caribbean Queen) was playing in the background which brought a smile to my face as it reminded me of being at a school disco but cemented the fact that this was a pub which didn’t need to change the formula of pubs of old. . Really enjoyed my visit here and to top it off there was a cool pub cat too. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 20/02/18

The worst service i have ever received from any establishment, the short lady with blondish hair has a serious attitude issue, from the minute we walked in she had a serious frown on her and spoke in a very rude and abrupt manor, even though I tried to smile and speak politely, she remained the same, she needs to be taught manors and how to serve customers. the gentleman who served us as we complained, was very polite and knows how to serve customers. Management really need to look into the service provided to your paying customers, she really lets the place down.

The lady serving is so rude, asked what vodka is available told us to check what’s on the bar, gave us a bill asked for the receipt and she gave us one that had no breakdown. Con of a place and felt so out of place after the way she behaved she kept pulling faces

Good little “old man” pub that serves decent burgers and some decent ales - popped in at lunch time with my work team for a lunch and was pleased to find it mostly empty at the time. We all had burgers which were delicious and served promptly. The service was very friendly and welcoming.

Nice pub, got full English breakfasts, they were very accommodating, we made a few subs to the standard English and they were so easy going. Great place, would visit again.

We stumbled across this bar on an impromptu trip to London. We were greeted by 2 smiling faces Stuart & Dzestina. I can’t say enough good things about these two. They made us feel very welcome and the service ! Amazing. My drink was never empty. We shared laughs and they gave us some great recommendations of things to see around the city. We even came back the night before we left to say bye to them. If/ when I come back to London I will defiantly be back to see them both !

Old man's boozer full of post-work punters on a Thursday night and spilling out onto the street. Six bartenders so you can get a drink quickly - really good. Friendly staff enjoying themselves.

Toller Pub nur einen Steinwurf von der Tubestation entfernt und direkt vor dem Borough Markt. Da in einer kleinen Seitenstraße gelegen (40 m abseits) ist hier komischerweise wenig los. Für uns gut. Es sind viele locals und Stammgäste hier. Tolle Atmosphäre und man kommt mit dem Personal auch ins Gespräch. Lecker Bier und Essen verstehen sich von selbst. Absolut empfehlenswert, um in der Mittagshitze den Menschenmassen zu entfliehen.

OMG best fish finger sandwich anywhere.

The service wasn't great and got worse as the night wore on. The beer was good though, although it's same stuff on tap as everywhere else. I'd opt for somewhere else next time, this just happen to be close to the office.

I am no english pub expert, but I found this place truly lovely and it offered exactly what I needed: good modern beer and a breakfast.

They managed to host 25 of us on a very busy lunch time - were quick with orders and all correct! Staff and food were lovely, will be coming again! thank you all

Had the full English breakfast. It was excellent. Best I've had in a long time. Eggs were perfectly cooked, hash brown was crispy, sausages herby and delicious, mushrooms were flavourful. Coffee was lovely. Was not expecting such a great meal. Blown away. And in a lovely pub setting.

Best pub in Shoreditch so welcoming and great vibe

I went on Tuesday and it was very lively with a great atmosphere, but it was a bit noisy and not very suitable for conversation. The red wine was delicious and not too acidic. The sweet chilli potato chips were also very tasty.

Nice place. Spacious, well decorated good selection of beers, including brewdod, cheaper than in their bars and the best, the accept cash!

Its good. The pints weren't warm, in fact the opposite. Underrated boozer in its location and I am glad places like this still exist in Shoreditch.

Probably the only real pub in the city. The least pretentious place to have a drink in the area. Sure it's rough around the edges but if you want to have a pint and a lunch for under £15 this is the place to go.

Absolutely brilliant guys behind the bar ...Came for a birthday party to meet a chicken... He was dressed as one lol dermott and kaya littellary kept us there all night great music best bar we found in Shoreditch.. Are group was meant to do a pub crawl but we did not move staying all night thanks to the guys proper pub and great staff lucky to have people like that in ur bar legends defo be back

Friendly staff and great service, the best value for money I've ever seen in London. Had a chicken and chorizo wrap and they really didn't skimp on the filling! Can't wait to go back and try other things on their menu.

Don't know what her problem was, went to the pub after work with colleagues. She was serving everyone but me. Refused to look me in the eye and purposely served other customers. Don't know if she has a grudge against women, but she was only serving the men. Told my company that she was ignoring me, and they went in line, said to her to serve me next as I was next, or technically even before them. But she turned her face and served a different guy. The manager was finally the one to serve me, which was to open one bottle of Smirnoff ice. Now I rarely come across bad service, but this was rude on another level. Was probably standing there for 15 minutes while this lady was bending her back to not serve me. Even left the floor when it got empty in my area because, well guess what, she would've had to open my bottle. Manager was really nice, I don't blame him for her actions (or inactions lol) but I would urge him to do some more training with her on how to greet people and would you guess it SERVE.

Stuart was a total legend. We had the best time! It was Monday night and I was over from Cape town for a short time in London and I felt so welcome. Love this place. Made me feel like home 🙂

Good old fashioned watering hole. A welcome change from the fancy bars and restaurants in the area. Staff were inviting and friendly. My friends and I enjoyed watching the champions league here.

The Old King's Head stepped in at late notice to help kick off a large team away day. They provided teas, coffees, a range of soft drinks, pastries, bloomer sandwiches and accommodated bespoke orders as well from the bar. The team sorted us out, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was happy. All good. A number of us returned later for a pint also, cracking beer. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was ideal for what we needed.

This is a great place for pints. They have TV’s for sports and good seating to watch. The bartenders were at tentative. Daisy and Stewart will ensure you have a good time. There’s a big kind kitty named Sally that stole my heart.

This pub is the antidote to hen parties and gimmicky bars. I would rather less people know about it but gotta give these guys the great review they deserve. Friendly, chilled staff. Obliged us with putting the football and Eurovision on the telly. Proprietor even instructed us where we should stand to catch the sunshine outside and not be bothering other businesses. My new favourite pub.

Out in London on a hen party weekend, found this great pub for drinks and music. Staff very welcoming and friendly. We were treated like VIP’s. Would recommend if you want excellent service and a great atmosphere.
