Fantastic food, love all the little extra touches and the staff were excellent. However, I felt we were left a long time without our drinks order being taken and drinks arriving. We’d read the whole menu several times and discussed it at length whilst supping on water, personally I like to sup on a glass of wine whilst deciding on what to eat and my husband would have liked to have had time to drink more than a few mouthfuls of his pint before his food arrived.

Have been to Fox and Goose for a meal a few times. Has always been good place for a 'special' meal. So disappointed in Christmas lunch. Bland soup and underwhelming main. Christmas pudding was best part. Should have been far better for price. On the plus side the service was excellent

My friend and I went out for a special lunch to this lovely restaurant. We were very warmly welcomed at the door and loved the interior. Calming heritage colours on the walls, lovely furniture and artwork on the walls and a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered lots of delicious choices and we really enjoyed every mouthful of our three courses. Beautifully cooked and presented food in delightful surroundings. It was amazing! We will certainly be back.

This is my favourite place to eat near to where we live. We have been coming here for years and it has never failed to delight . The food is always the same high standard and the staff are delightful whether younger or a little more mature. We know them now and it just heightens the experience. Thanks to Paul and Team for changing nothing except the menu.

I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch we had but one tiny suggestion. Please could you tone down the size of the Yorkshire pudding served with the main course of roast beef. A more modest portion would suffice, plus the presentation of the meal would be greatly enhanced. Otherwise, car parking no problem, terrific ambiinside and lovely staff.

The Fox and Goose has become our new favourite place this summer and autumn! We have visited four times , twice with different sets of friends and twice with family The lady who is in the upstairs restaurant is welcoming , charming and sensitive to our requests ( perfect in fact on all four occasions). The menu is varied and everything arrives at the table with great attention to detail! Beautiful food in lovely surroundings, what more could you ask for. We have one more visit booked for the Christmas menu..very much looking forward to that !

Chose this restaurant whilst on holiday in the area due to excellent reviews and was certainly not disappointed. Lovely 3 course lunch superbly presented and tasted as good as it looked. Service and friendly staff just added to a perfect lunch. I am gluten free and had put this on my booking. On arrival the menu presented to me had been altered to show what was suitable. Couldn’t find fault in anything. Would highly recommend.

I was expecting this meal to be on a level with my favourite resturant in Diss given the reviews and £35 pp 3 course meal. The food was tasty but very little of it. Starter was literally a spoonful of crab with dressing. My main was sea bream on pac choi which wasn't to my taste(not had pac choi it before) 3 tiny croquet potatoes no more than an inch long tasty coating but not much of it and no other veg was served. The desert again a teaspoonful of sorbet and same of the salted caramel mouse. We had 1 drink each and coffee which was a cup not a pot and served with milk not cream and it was strong coffee needed cream. I know a lot of work goes into cooking the sophisticated recipes and sauces but I compare every new resturant to my favourite one and that also has many sophisticated meals but not so skimpy portions also with fresh seasonal veg and lovely herb roasted potatoes. We really didn't feel like we had a 3 course meal sadly. Lastly we were placed in a small room at the end of the building which was a bland white room overlooking the graveyard atmoshphere was lacking for a period historic building. Due to our location in the building I am not able to answer the questions below

We visit this restaurant whenever we are on holiday nearby in Suffolk and always enjoy the atmosphere, the quality of the food and the service. On this occasion we booked ahead which was as well as the car park and the restaurant was very busy. We particularly enjoy the pre-dinner drink in the small lounge after which we were led to our table in the upstairs restaurant. The starter and main course were well presented and very tasty but unfortunately my main course was not very warm. Staff were generally attentive but we had our plates removed whilst we were still chewing the last mouthful. A bit rushed and the waiter appeared inexperienced and humourless.

I was in a party of eight visiting a local church to view a ceiling at Huntingfield. We had lunch at the Fox and Goose. I eat out a lot and this surpassed anything I have had in years. It was beautifully presented with delicious tastes and the the waitresses were lovely. As I suspect it was freshly prepared and we had to wait for our meals, we were brought some lovely home made rolls which were still warm. I wish I lived nearer to this restaurant.

We stumbled across this little gem a few years ago and as we were in the vicinity decided to make the 30 mile bike ride for a spot of lunch. It was just as good. The menu is inventive and is superb restaurant quality with clever mixes of ingredients and textures to excite the palette.I had a mackerel Gillette with B having a a prawn and crab fish cake. Mains was a pork fillet with B having sea bream. The house wine was also pretty good. The restaurant is literally next door to the village church and whilst it may sound macabre as the graveyard was a view it was nevertheless a pretty setting.Service was friendly professional and attentive.Only downside was the background music which was not to my taste but you can't have everything

We were recommended to have a meal at the Goose & Fox by friends. We stayed the week in a cottage at Watson’s Farm. We saved our visit for the last night of the holiday. After a wonderful week this was the cherry on the cake. We had been told to book in advance which we did through their website, very easy. Pleased we did it was a very busy night (Friday). This is a very quaint restaurant, the building dating back to the 1500’s. A warm welcome from the staff. We had a drink in the small bar until it was time for our table. Silver service in the restaurant. The menu is local and seasonal, service is not slow but paced which gives you time to enjoy the wonderful food they serve and the restaurant. The food and additional extras such as the warm bread and sample Gazpacho Soup . The whole evening was special, highly recommend. Ps book in advance and it’s an adult restaurant rather than very young children.

Really good food! This was a last minute booking while on holiday in the area. It was recommended by a friend who lives locally. What a find. The restaurant is dog friendly and has three large tables next to the bar which can be used by dog owners. Although you are in a separate room from the restaurant you still feel part of the restaurant and can feel the buzz of the place. This was the end of a busy foodie weekend so we watching our calorie intake! For starters we shared a chicken terrine which tasted amazing and had a gel, some pear slices and toast to accompany it. We were also provided with two complimentary warm soft rolls and butter which was a nice touch. For mains we both went for the roast beef which was cooked to perfection. My wife asked for it to be served medium which was not a problem. It came with all the usual trimmings that were faultless and I found it a good portion size for me. And finally I went for the chocolate mouse and salted caramel ice cream for desert. This was really well presented and tasted fantastic. The restaurant was really busy. But the staff remained friendly and professional despite training a new waitress. We will be returning when we are next in the area.

Stopped here last month on our regular tandem ride. Lovely welcome from friendly staff. The variety of comfortable tables is well thought out. The food was very good and, unlike some reviewers, we thought that the portions were ok. Our only real comment was that the range of beers was limited and the draught Adnams was run through the cooler and thus way too cold. Just keeping a small range of bottled beers would have done the trick.

It is something of a tradition, that my wife & I come here on Christmas Eve (and many other times in the year too) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have been coming for more years than I care to contemplate, but the passage of time has done nothing to dent our liking for this restaurant. This is a lovely restaurant where we have enjoyed some fabulous meals. The food is beautifully presented but on our last visit we all felt a little ripped off. Starters were a mouthfull and the although the mains were cooked to perfection each plate was finished in minutes even by one of our slow eaters! The price for three courses here is on the expensive side so we should reasonably expect quality and proportionate quantity. Some lovely touches but it does not make up for leaving the F&G still feeling hungry. Sorry to be negative but the proprietor needs to reflect on minimalist portions.

We'd been promising ourselves a lunch at the Fox & Goose since we'd been recommended to eat here by friends. We were not disappointed: we arrived earlier than our booking, but this did not faze the two lovely ladies looking after the restaurant that day. We were shown to a spotless table in a spotless restaurant, and thereafter treated with every courtesy and consideration. Customer service and a friendly welcome here is clearly a very high priority. We opted for the set menu, which is excellent value with three courses for under £21, and both enjoyed the duck confit starter. My husband's pork fillet was delicious, as was my beef tenderloin - both were beautifully cooked and presented - and for dessert we were spoiled for choice, but the treacle and blueberry tart was a winner. Visited for mid week lunch, recommended by friends. We ate in the restaurant and did book. The menu was captivating and full of taste combinations that you wanted to try so very hard to choose. We both chose homemade salmon fish cakes with tarragon mayonnaise, beetroot and rhubarb chutney, they were delicious and piping hot. My only complaint is that the finish on the China plate is slightly grooved and makes too much noise when you are trying to ensure you have eaten every last bit of the chutney. The warm home made bread was brilliant. My husband chose the fillet of sea bream and I had the pork fillet. The colours on the plate were amazing Shared a fantastic treacle and hazelnut tart followed by coffee and home made shortbread and truffle. I visited the Fox and Goose on Sunday,24th September as one of a family party of eight, the restaurant was busy but the staff most attentive as we sat in the sun and made our choices from the menu before being shown to our nicely appointed table in an upstairs room .I had chosen a warm salad of confit of duck and pears to start with and this was excellent. Other members of the party enjoyed fish cakes and soup. The entire party had chosen “rib eye of beef” as our main course and this turned out to be a sad let down. The cut .of meat served was certainly not “rib eye” but was more likely top side or even silver side, and extremely tough, it was accompanied by desperately over cooked Yorkshire pudding and a very boring selection of vegetables. After this I faced prospect of pudding with some trepidation but I need not have feared as my warm blackcurrant and treacle tart was beyond reproach. The two bottles of wine served were excellent and served at proper temperature. The Fox and Goose is an excellent place to eat with charming and efficient staff but I suspect Sunday lunch is not the time to experience it at its best.

We have not visited for a long while but the restaurant was packed with folk. The lunch was so delicious and the service impeccable and in spite of the many diners we were not rushed nor were we kept waiting.

Infrequent visitors because of the distance from home this is a gastro pub/restaurant visited for special occasions. It is simply outstanding. If you choose the restaurant you will find food of exceptional quality, perfectly prepared by the owner/chef and very reasonable priced (two courses for £16.95). The staff are a delight, the location charming and the ambience relaxing but lending itself to a special occasion. The food, as mentioned, is sublime and, while not having experienced Michelin starred establishments, the F and G achieves a standard that must be very close to that level.

We had a fantastic meal and really lovely evening. What a pity we live so far away! My sea trout was delicious as was my husband's lamb.

Just experienced the taster menu and I have to say it was superb. Each dish was carefully put together with perfect ingredients . At £50 each it was excellent value for money and well worth a try if visiting the area. The staff were lovely too.

We have been luck enough to have been going here for fifteen years and never once have we had a poor experience. my wife uses the scallops here as a grading system for this dish in any other restaurant. the food is always excellent and the staff pleasant and helpful. Ingredients are sourced locally for first class Suffolk farms and prepared with care by the owner Paul and his staff. probably our favourite UK restaurant for good food and consistency. Been many times and will (with any luck) be able to go many times more!

Why anyone would choose to call a cafe Tickety Boo is beyond me but the food is good and you don't eat the name! Very strange and off-putting style where they take your money before you eat - which meant we didn't order any cake after our meal as we couldn't be bothered to queue and pay all over again. None of the diners I've seen in here look like the type that would run off without paying! Despite this the food really was excellent and I will be back for more.

The owner of this place does not have a clue about running a business which includes giving polite, courteous customer service because she has none of these skills! Off hand, flippant and down right rude are skills she is good at. The staff they employ are inexperienced, ignorant and lacking any customer skills also. Asked if they could serve a flat white coffee they responded, “never heard of it” and when we asked what beer they had the waitress said one in a bottle with a red label and one with a blue label. Unbelievable! Overpriced and the food is very mediocre, we cook better and tastier at home. Never go again and would never recommend. Tip for owner, go on a management course to help your inexperienced staff and while there learn some customer service skills.

Our family joined my wife and I to celebrate her birthday at "The Kitchen" on Sunday. The chef offered a choice of three roasts bookable in advance. The food was well presented and delicious, and the waiters were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. This venture is in its infancy and the bar like surroundings could be improved. Good food at good prices. Book in advance as the opening hours are limited.

These folks know how to treat people. Getting in might be a little tough but it is worth the wait.
