Great pub, with excellent food, super fresh and tasty, excellent portions, great service theres a really nice atmosphere and a great pool tabel. I had the ribs and they were full ribs with a fresh chimichurri sauce. absolutely delicious and perfect pint of korev

Our first visit today, two of us. The food and ambience was very nice but I was very disappointed that I was charged £2 for a glass of soda water from the pump. I fully appreciate that it won’t be free but £2 is outrageous. Up until the bill I was mentally making a note to go again with my stream of summer visitors. But having spent £50.10 in lunch I came away felling a bit ripped off. No return visit from me or my family. The £2 won’t have done the landlord much good. Loads of pubs don’t charge at all for soda water. Landlords are always whinging about how tough it is but really this is not a good marketing move.

AMAZING SERVICE!!! Went there yesterday for a Sunday carvery and OMG it was absolutely BANGING!! I went for the turkey with a side of peas, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes drizzled with gravy. Would come back here again!

Just back from this amazing venue. Sheer perfection. Every member of staff were super friendly and made us feel completely at home. The food was outstanding. I had the beef and horseradish pie which was the best pie I've ever had. Also the lemon meringue roulade which was fantastic. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his meal of Caribbean Chicken followed by chocolate fudge cake. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere full of character. Cheered me up on such a miserable day.

The pie of the day was amazing, and the presentation was beautifully presented. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The fire also gave it a cosy atmosphere. Definitely would say stop here if you are in the area.

Carvery very nice, some of the veg not the best quality. Patches of grey cauli and woody swede, but mostly good.

We called into this Pub on our way back from Falmouth to our Hotel in Launceston on Sunday January 19th & though we hadn't made a booking the Staff made us extremely welcome & got us a Table for Two! As it was 3.00pm they were clearing away the Carvery but were prepared to delay it for us but we decided to choose from their Lunch Menu! My Wife had Scampi & I had Fish & Chips! Both Meals were Huge, Piping hot & absolutely delicious! All the Staff said Hello as they passed our Table & were just such lovely people who obviously enjoyed working there! What a Fantastic Pub to come across & would highly recommend & hopefully one day we will return!

Chose the special of slow cooked citrus and herb stuffed porchetta which was unbelievably good. Fantastic flavour and beautifully presented. Excellent service from a really warm and friendly team of staff. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Couldn’t recommend this pub more! Thank you for a great meal!

If you're looking for a pub that will make your taste buds do a happy little jig, look no further than The Fox and Hounds! The corned beef hash and Caribbean chicken were so good, I half expected the chef to come out and take a bow. The staff? Absolute gems – friendly, welcoming, and clearly in cahoots with the kitchen to keep you smiling. The place was spotless and toasty, perfect for hiding from the British weather. Oh, and they have a dog menu! Your four-legged friend can finally judge your life choices while eating better than you do. 10/10 would wag my tail there again.

Very enjoyable sizzling skillet, one of the best we have enjoyed in a long while. Really made our day as we called in on the off chance when on holiday. Would certainly return when we are in the area again.

Very friendly owner and staff, lovely carvery, and looked after our dog like a king! We called in on a very busy Sunday, without a reservation, and they really tried to accommodate us, which they did, and it was lovely.

I had high hopes for this pub, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. While the ambiance was pleasant and the staff initially seemed friendly, the meal I ordered fell far below expectations. The steak was very fatty and gristly and not what I had expected from a place with good reviews. I kindly pointed this out to staff, hoping for a resolution, but when the manager got involved, the situation went downhill. Rather than addressing my concerns the manager dismissed the issue and made excuses saying that she had no control over what cuts of meat the butcher sent her. I pointed out that surely the chef could see the poor quality of the steak compared to others. I found her unprofessional patronising and unhelpful. It’s understandable that things can go wrong in a busy kitchen, but lack of accountability was disappointing. Although she acknowledged that the steak was not good, her offer of recompense was insulting. Based on this experience, I would not return or recommend this pub. I hope management takes feedback more seriously in the future to ensure a better experience go other customers.

Great place to eat, so much so we went there three times in the week we were in Cornwall. Our particular favorites were the pulled pork burgers and Sunday carvery. Service was superb, especially the young ladies and the guy on the carvery. We would highly recommend!

Great carvery food and the kids loved there pasta and garlic bread. We asked for a table out the way for are autistic child and they said if we need the music turned down or anything just ask. The girls doing the waitressing were all great and couldn't have been more helpful. Will be back again soon.

I am on my bfs Google account but I’m absolutely appalled got a phone call about a trial got exited as it’s very hard to get a job at my age told me to come in on a Sunday when they are usually busy didn’t think much of it and went for the trial she told me to come in on Halloween well she didn’t mention that she said come in on Thursday I was up for it as I needed a job and really wanted it I had to cancel plans with my bf and friends we was all going to go out but I cancelled to make sure I get the job little did I know I was about to turn up to a wedding party there and it’s Halloween so ofc there is a quiz she told me to come in on Thursday to see what a normal day looks like she lied to my face then after my trial on Halloween she told me she will defo here from me after another person comes in for a trial on Saturday I waited and heard nothing just bc I’m young and have no experience is no excuse not to take me on don’t use me for your busy days bc your short on staff and can’t be bothered to train me and pay me properly it’s vile how people can leave young people like this hoping they got the job when they didn’t call me even if I didn’t or if I did it dosnt matter still give me a call to see what I can improve on ofc I was nervous on the trial I did on the Sunday I have anxiety and she knows that she took me on for a trial knowing that she probably wasn’t gonna take me on I feel bad for her staff she was all nice to my face but behind doors she probably talked rubbish about me I’m done with people who are to rude to take young people on and give them a chance Michell the manger is the woman who I am speaking about I’m fuming with has happened I worked my very best for your restaurant just to be thrown aside absolutely vile…

Far too expensive for the quality and quantity of food served. Poor menu choice as most items were not available.... not even baked potatoes! We went at lunch time yesterday and there were no other customers the whole time. No heat, no atmosphere. Such a shame it used to be such a thriving place. We gave it 3 chances, not again !

Excellent in every way. We went with friends for Sunday lunch (& our dog) - we had a warm welcome , super service and fantastic food . We enjoyed it so much, we went back for another meal a few days later.

We have been fairly frequently to this pub and generally happy with food we have been served and price paid. I’m sorry to say that the significant price increases are not justified and although the food was ok, the portions are smaller and the price high. I’m sure it’s very difficult to run a pub atm but sadly there are equally good around for much less than paid today. We all need to watch the pennies and mine won’t be spent here

Went for lunch, not half as busy as normal. Staff not up to the usual standard and it appears things have been let go slightly! Prices have been increased, which we don't mind for good food and service. BUT food was mediocre. Paid £10 for a dessert and all that came on the plate was one waffle with one scoop of ice cream with no decoration and the waffle was so hard it flew off my sons plate while trying to cut it!

Our dog was catered for and our requests from the menu were sorted efficientliently This is our second visit and Daveydog says woof, woof for my sausages, am 9f for zzzzz.

Can't say no more about this place than the stars ive given them, its always been great, the lasses in there are so helpful, food is and always has been great 👍

Always a great visit here. Good ales on tap and service is always welcoming and polite. Nice beer garden out the front by the stream or out the back away from the road.

We had roast which was lovely and puddings but very much very priced since we have been to alot of places as we are local, nachos are not worth the money just under £10 all most all are broken and not worth the money, puddwere nice but again Iver priced, had a look at the menu and a ploughman's lunch at £18 very very pricey we have been on dartmoor and either not this price or you pay for the view.

Called in here as we were both hungry and we were certainly not disappointed, the food was excellent and very tasty. So much so we went in again the following day! Lovely place, lovely people, great food. 10/10

Visited again in September and chef has recently changed and the meals were fantastic. Keep up the good work. Good service and better choice than there was available in the summer.

Super tasty food and very friendly, accommodating staff at reasonable prices. When we couldn't eat there the second time because there was a technical problem in the kitchen, they organized and reserved a table for us in a nearby restaurant, which was also very good. This is customer service. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely go to Fox&Hounds again...

We happened upon this wonderful place on our journey back to our holiday home, we received a warm welcome from Amber and was promptly given menus and a lovely spot with clean table. There was more than enough choice with the menu's however, me and the wife both chose the pil pil prawns dish, we were so glad we did, it was out of this world, our son chose the loaded fries and was more than happy. We felt, Not only was the food and drinks outstanding and delicious, the staff, especially Amber, went above and beyond to make our experience here, such a good one Thanks to the team, especially Amber and the kitchen staff for such a wonderful lunch, we won't forget this one in a hurry Edit September 2024 We returned and were greeted by the wonderful Aymie and Emilie, I think this was the young ladies names, they made our experience even more by their friendliness, the food was still absolutely sublime, infact id even go so far as to say better, if this is possible! What a team! Can't wait to return!!

Poor steaks. Ordered a prawn dish and was served chicken. Steaks grisly. Waitress was patronising and tried to talk down to us. They did knock a bit off the bill but it was already over priced for what it was. Small serving of vegetables/chips. Had to send one dish back. Wife was served 20mins after everyone else. And the pasta wasn't cooked properly and sauce was watery. Wife left most of it as it wasn't good at all. Drinks well over priced. I dont mind paying for good food and service but on this occasion it was shambolic. They said they had complaints by previous customer over the steaks so why carry on serving a product that you have a known issue with ? And the waitress said they are having issues finding a good cheif! (How un professional! ) Id avoid this pub for food in future. Pubs are struggling but with this level of quality no wonder people are opting to keep their money in their pockets. Such a shame as Fox & Hounds use to be a great eating place.

.. Rustic, totally cozy and very tasty. We were allowed to stay overnight with our campervan. The most dog friendly place I have ever experienced. Own dog menu card! Highly recommended!

Great meal. We had the pulled pork burger and the veg lasagne. Both were really good size and very nice. Very dog friendly with ours having beef,potatoes and gravy. Would definitely recommend

A very nice dinner at the Fox and Hounds. We had booked a table online and glad we did because the pub was full. We went on a busy holiday weeknight evening but the service was very friendly and they provided table service for drinks too. Good pub food, nice outside seating in the garden. Carvery at weekend it seems. Recommended.

One of our favourite places, any time of the day. Stopped off for est coffee and amazing desert late one afternoon, squeezwd in a game of pool and darts in the process,

Such a wonderful place - we come here quite regularly and always enjoy the warm welcome for both ourselves and our large dog. They have a menu just for dogs, so if you've been out on a long walk, you can all have something to eat together. Lovely team of people - thank you!

We have eaten in this pub/restaurant twice and both times as a result of being turned away at a nearby pub because it was booked up. However, on both occasions we have all thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and a good atmosphere although a little out of the way for us from where we live and where our friends were staying. The car park is huge and could possibly be a venue for motorhomes to eat and stay although no mention of this on their website. The pub is very large and beautifully covered in flowers with a large beer garden and surrounded by greenery. The menu was fairly safe and standard but with some interesting additions on the specials board. I chose the deep fried whitebait (£9.95) followed by the rump on a hot skillet with chips (£22.95). Both were delicious with an ample serving. Others in our party had fish and chips, a burger and a Chinese noodle dish from the specials board. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent and a real credit to the pub.

My partner and I spotted the Fox & Hounds on a drive to the north coast of Cornwall. Being lunchtime, we stopped for a light bite and a drink. The service was exceptional and food nicely presented and tasty. As an indication of how highly we rated the pub, we are intending to visit it again for lunch tomorrow.

My husband and I went for dinner today. The staff were really friendly and the food excellent. I let slip that it was my birthday and they brought my dessert with a lighted candle and sang "Happy birthday" Thank you all - it made it a special day.

Such a warm welcome from Abby, we were on our first trip away in our newly bought camper van and been to the campsite which was horrid so we had nowhere to stay, lovely Abby immediately said we could stay in their car park if we couldn't find anywhere for the night 😀 thank you so much Abby! We had a meal this evening and the food was delicious 😋 but the highlight of the night was how welcoming the staff were they went above and beyond. Special mention to Amber and Tabbitha. The hanging baskets were beautiful on the exterior of the pub.

The waitresses were extremely attentive and polite. Unfortunately, the food was poor. The Nachos were put in a bowl that was not very wide, so the toppings were concentrated over a small section and the cheese was not melted well. I was unable to finish the vegetarian lasagne because it was too greasy. The lasagne consisted of: a 1cm wedge of cheese topping, hardly any pasta sheets, the vegetables were minuscule and non-existent and the sauce was sloppy like soup. A disappointing meal.

Really dog friendly, Ivy loved her chicken and rice off the hound menu. Lovely staff, very welcoming, children loved their lasagna, decent portions, skillet plate was great. Reasonably priced for good portions. Good wine and ale. Dessert was good too. Thank you, would recommend!

This is a regular favourite super dog friendly pub for us. Always a lovely welcome for us and our dog (s). Menu choice is varied and the food is always great.

This is really great place with fantastic atmosphere and best service, food was really nice. The only missing thing was a bit healthier, less salty options, especially on kids menu, but other than that it was delish!

Absolutely disgusting starter prawns were sill frozen ,main courses chips were not cooked only blanched once still white my burger was raw in the middle the burger bun I could not even cut or eat at all my ,my husband fish was cremated and his chips weren’t cooked either which he didn’t eat and he always eat his chip I am sorry but I wouldn’t recommend and the food was served and she ran off so quickly I did not have a chance to ask for cutlery she was probably embarrassed at the food she served disgusting.

Lovely pub nicely set. One criticism. We planned to have food but sat in the Lovely garden, but the music being broadcast over the speakers in the middle of the day did grater on the nerves after a while. ( and I do love all types of music) Shame because the food looked great.

Called in here on the way back to Falmouth 4.6.24. The lady (Amy?) was super super nice, made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. She made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. We ordered food, Pil Pil prawns, classic prawn skillet, a lasagne and ham egg and chips for my elderly Dad. Fabulous! We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Tasty and piping hot what more can you ask for. Wish we’d found it sooner as would’ve gone again.
