I was visiting the Mousehole and was checking out a restaurant for dinner, the menu had a good choice of fish options I choose the Cornish Sole. While waiting for my meal to arrived I notice that when customers arrive they were given jug of water for the table, as a solo customer this was not offered. When the fish arrived which was beautifully cooked but it came with new potatoes some where turning black. Non of the waiting staff checked to see if meal was satisfactory or if I needed another drink. I asked to see the desert menu but after waiting over twenty minutes for my order I decided just to ask for the bill. This restaurant has a good chef but the front of staff are letting the customer experience down especially as a solo diner.

Came across this cafe by chance ,and what a find ,I had a cream tea and my husband had the crab soup ,the scones were so light and delicious and of course I ate it the cornish way ,the crab soup was tasty ,delicious and filling. Mousehole is full secret nooks and crannies, streets that seem to go nowhere, hidden alleyways, and unheralded views, so when you come across one of the best cafés in Cornwall tucked away in a hidden corner of this most picturesque of towns, it is really worth shouting about. Popular to a fault, you may need to wait for a table to come free, Four Teas Café might best be described as the South West’s best-kept open secret. It is a tiny place, but it is so worth seeking out. Especially in a county infested with tourist traps. This one is the real deal. Themed around Britain in the forties, the décor is vintage posters, pictures, and signs. The music is Vera Lyn’s greatest hits. And the menus are ration books. It should be noted that the latter is just a prop – the food is deliciously fantastic. Sandwiches are traditional. And if you want to experience something of the forties, I can highly recommend the Coronation Chicken, the best version of this classic I have had. There are also limited meal options available. These are all homemade, of course, and seem to change regularly – watch out for the specials board! Cakes are fantastic. I sampled the coffee cake (more than once) and, again, it remains one of the best I have had. And if you are seeking out a great Cornish cream tea (accompanied by shouts of cream on top!), you have come to the right place too. But what about the service? I hear you ask. Well, just when you might think it couldn’t get any better, the service is efficient and friendly. In fact, I’ll add welcoming, accommodating, and entertaining too. Special mention of the owner, Gale, who looked after us during our (sadly) short stay. All in all, a must-visit. In fact, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t go out of your way to experience this fantastic eating place. Highly recommended.

What a find this lovely little cafe was! During a visit to Mousehole, found this amazing cafe whilst looking for somewhere for a cup of tea and something to eat. Ended up stopping for a late lunch with soup and fish and chips, all of which was made fresh on the premises and was delicious and very tasty. Would have had a slice of cake too, but too full. The service from the chatty and very friendly lady (Gail) running the cafe was excellent and she was more than happy to let us in with our two well-behaved dogs. Nothing was too much trouble. We were staying in Porthleven and visited Mousehole, and Four Teas Cafe, twice. On the first occasion, we each had a Cornish pasty which was delicious and good value at £4.50 each. We followed the pasties with a teacake which we shared, although we never really fathomed how we ended up with it! Gail, the proprietor, is clearly a polished salesperson because the teacake was her suggestion and there did seem to be quite a few other customers with teacakes too! That said, it was delicious, with a decent portion of butter and not just a couple of those silly little packs that barely cover one side of the teacake. Anyway, we returned to Mousehole, and Four Teas Cafe (I love the name of the cafe and the clever play on words), a couple of days later. Second time around and I had a coronation chicken sandwich on granary bread, accompanied by a few cheesy chips whilst my friend had the mackerel pate with soda bread toast which she followed with, er… a teacake! Portion sizes are particularly generous here and the food, including the teacakes (which was not Gail’s suggestion on the second occasion!), tasted fresh and was very enjoyable, as were the lattes and teas (decaf and ordinary). Even though the cafe is not overly big, there is a comprehensive menu and prices are extremely reasonable, especially when compared to other eateries in Mousehole which attracts a good number of tourists and is not the cheapest village in the area. Added to that, the cafe has a lovely atmosphere which is mostly down to Gail who is quite a character and runs the front of house. Unfortunately, my friend and I are not local, otherwise we’d be visiting on a regular basis, but we will return next time we’re in the area, as I really want to sample the cream tea!

Had a late lunch - Large steak pasty for my husband, beef and horseradish sandwiches on gluten free bread and a portion of chunky chips to share. Had a couple of soft drinks and came to under £20. Lovely 40s themed cafe with ration books for menus, 40s music and great decor. Staff were incredibly polite and friendly, very attentive. Highly recommend. Visiting this cafe was the primary reason for visiting Mousehole and it didn't disappoint. It's a family run cafe with the old lady handling all matters at the front - managing customer seating, helping with the menu, helping with and taking meal orders and bill payments, all with a smile. We were full when we visited but couldn't resist a slice of cake with coffee. Had the Dundee cake which came recommended and the tea cake both of which were amazing and tasted fresh and delicious. The tea cake was toasted perfectly and was perfect with butter and a pot of tea. The cafe decor is old school and is kept very clean. Depending on how busy it gets and what you offer, you might have to wait a bit to be seated and get your food as it's prepared fresh. Our visit to Mousehole for this was worth it.

Cosy small cafe run by couple (wife in front, husband in kitchen). Lucky enough to get a table for 2 on a Monday afternoon in August (happened to be a cruise docking day so it was busy). Saw many decide not to wait. Expect to wait for a table and service to be slow as it is couple/family run. What can I say about the food, the crab in the sandwich was fresh (and advised freshly pick out the crab to order) although bread used could have been a little more exciting. Warm cream tea was delightful with warm scones. Menu is extensive and comprehensive with many options would like to try. Beware, no bathroom on site, a good 5 minutes walk away by the car park.

We did have a short wait for a table but worth it as the menu choices are extensive and everything is cooked fresh by the husband of the lovely lady front of house. We went for the coronation chicken sandwich and the roast beef sandwich with shared chips. The portion was very big but we managed to finish it. ( didn’t eat anything else all day ). Came across this busy place and liked the look of the options on the menu. Just wanted some sandwiches to take away to eat by the harbour area. Ordered teo sandwiches, one crab and one crayfish. Both with lettuce and lemon mayo. Took a little time to get our order but the place was busy and to be honest, very much worth the wait. Sandwiches were full of shellfish, no skimping here. Bread was fresh, mayo was lovely and the crunch of the lettuce just finished it off. Very tasty indeed

We chose this café today based on Google reviews and we can confirm all the other 5-star reviews. It's a wonderful little family business. We immediately felt at home, like we were at Mommy's house (in this restaurant, probably also like at Dad's house, because he's the cook, if I remember correctly). We were served quickly and friendly. The food was super tasty and you could tell that it was freshly made. It's really worth the wait, which was perfectly fine (shorter wait usually means worse quality). There are also vegetarian and vegan dishes marked with v and vg (I think more v could be added here). There were a lot of guests that day. As soon as one left, the next came in. So a very, very popular cafe. Nevertheless, the owner took the time to talk to us and answer questions. I really like the 1940s style. And what's nice is that it's consistent in decoration, music and menu. I like the pun “Four Teas”. Finally, I would like to mention that we really liked that our table was first cleared and cleaned and then we were shown to the table. This was discussed very friendly with us beforehand.

All very reasonably priced and service was spot on. So glad we found this place and we will visit Mousehole again all the way from Leicester!

A really quaint and quirky little restaurant. The service was exemplary with the waitress working really hard. Food was superb, I would highly recommend this place for a spot of lunch.

Came upon this little tea room when wandering around Mousehole. Great decision to come on in. Large Cornish pasty and a posh sausage roll with a joint portion of well cooked chips and a couple of coffees. Excellent value and service. Thank you

Nettes Cafe mit kleinen Speisen. Wird auch von Einheimischen gerne besucht. Die Wirtin hält den Laden toll am Laufen.

Unbelievablely warm and friendly, gorgeous little cafe. We had lunch today and lady who served us could not have been more helpful. Truly first class. So unusual to find service this good anywhere in the fast food can't be bothered UK hospitality sector. This is...

Dropped in at short notice for a coffee/tea and cake. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Beautiful homemade scones, delicious jam and cream and even a slice of chocolate cake for the kids. Well worth a visit!

Nice little cafe, lovely vintage atmosphere. Disappointed that the menu titles 'cream tea' but you have to pay extra for the tea... Have never encountered this before.

My wife and I had a short wait for a table yesterday afternoon. I had a pasty and chips and my wife had a cream tea. My “chunky” chips were the best I have had for many a long year and the pasty was from Prima. My wife could not believe how much jam and cream was provided. The free advice was not only which to spread, the jam or cream first, but also where to park our car when we visited next! The service was exemplary and always with a smile. Covid rules were rigorously applied, thank you.

TTTT Cafe is situated in the beautiful and picturesque harbour village of Mousehole. The Cafe is a 1940s themed affair with some nice touches. My wife and I had a cream tea with coffee and also learned how to have a 'proper cream tea' too....
