Stumbled upon this place and ended up going three mornings in a row. Staff were so pleasant (Joshua was extremely friendly) and they went out of their way to help. Food was excellent (bacon rolls especially and the honey, cinnamon and banana toastie). Best thing was the coffees they made which were excellent - everything was done with a lot of care and attention. Loved the cafe ambience and vibe in there too. Would highly recommend

This is a cafe with great atmosphere, friendly accommodating staff and a simple well delivered menu. If you want Art, the Cafe displays work by local artists, just to look or buy if you fancy something. The balcony area is a must for people watching whilst enjoying your favourite bevvy and a bite to eat. Well worth a visit, and whilst you are there visit the Record Collector's and memorabilia Shop (amongst others) in the Drill Hall.

Myself & my partner stopped in here for a coffee and a toastie. The service was quite slow but the staff were very friendly and apologetic about this, taking the time to come to our table and explain the reasons for the slow service. As an apology, we were given two free coffees on the house. This wasn’t a necessary thing to do but it really showed how much the staff cared about their customers. The food was nice and coffee was delicious!

We visited here today after walking around town and every cafe was full. This one had tables vacant. Staff quick to take order and brought hot drinks quickly however we had to wait over 30 minutes for a toastie, by then the drinks were cold and toastie fillings were rather meagre. Other tables waited a long time for service too. Staff apologised for staff shortages but there were 4 staff members, it's not a large cafe and 30 minutes was a long time to wait. Disappointing experience.

We had just been dropped off the open-topped bus which circumnavigates lower Cornwall, returning to St Ives after a journey of over three hours. Wandering into the quiet streets away from the much busier harbourside, we changed upon this very good cafe. We were offered seating on the covered patio and enjoyed a cream tea and coffee, watching the crowds to by. Happily, we also found the cafe offers toilet facilities, and after such a journey, that was such a relief.

Ended up in this cafe as many others packed out. However, they sold what we were looking for - an Halloumi wrap ! They came with mushrooms which my daughter didnt want as she said they always drip mushroom juice as you eat them. So we had 2 with and 2 with mushrooms. Sure enough the mushrooms did drip juice everywhere and it would be worth them noting this ! We had good smoothies and my wife had a superb brie salad. We would go back.

This cafe is a true arts meeting place for local people. There are regular art exhibitions and art/craft groups during the week and also musical sessions. During the September Festival, Cafe Art takes centre stage, by all accounts, with open mic slots, story-telling, writing, etc. The tea was very nice but I sat out in the corridor next to the Cafe Art book-exchange to drink it as the cafe itself was quite crammed with big furniture and people! However, 15 minutes later we were still waiting & then noticed the 'waiter' was serving 6 take away coffees for visitors who came in after ourselves. This was very annoying. When the drinks did arrive they were barely luke warm! After complaining it was replaced by a hot drink. Also, don't sit by the faulty door to the terrace, as it is thoughtlessly left open by those using it & it doesent close properly anyway so makes it very cold! Probably won't be returning anytime soon.
