Fountain Park Fry in Edinburgh, City of

Absolutely shocking tonight ! I used your own website as opposed to justeat as it’s better for the business. Order was accepted HOURS AGO. States it’s open, but after 9 phone calls , no answer, I went onto just eat . Looked you up, and it states you are closed today. Yet you sent me a text with order number. I use your take away all the time . But I’ve been charged over £20.00 and received no order tonight . I won’t be directly ordering again. Thank you. Now I will try to get a refund and report this..!

So where to start.... I had been before and fish was great so decided I wanted a good fish again. Ordered a single fish. They cook to order which is good with me. 8 mins wait, cool. Fish ready I spot some chips in box so maybe they give some free or are trying to charge me for a supper. He holds out payment machine but will not show me the amount. I insist to look over at screen and it is £11.50... menu says £10.50 for supper and I think £8 for single. I complain and I am told the illuminated huge menu is out of date.... OK maybe add some stickers? I pay by card as I want my food. But then I say I feel conned as I ordered a single. Now to give credit, the manager steps in and agrees he heard what I ordered and I get a cash refund to the single price. Appreciated. So excellent battered fish but poor service. I say check price before you pay as it felt a bit off to me but manager saved the day!

I went in for a Pizza, build your own, which was very delicious. The staff were friendly, chatty and gave off a happy vibe. It was great because not many places accept cash in Edinburgh, which isn't normally a problem but I had my card stolen while on The Royal Mile so only had cash on me. Definitely recommend for fabulous take away food.

Waited 20 minutes for an order. Asked then kindly how long it'll be beforehand, they gave me a death stare and acted real cold. Started yelling at others while I waited. Looked an order I thought might be mine and he lost it. When the order was ready, I mumbled that it took way too long. One of them comes to the front, asks what I said, I repeat it. Rip the food out of my hands and threaten to get me cancelled from deliveroo (I've done delivery for them for 5 years) all of this while I was fasting and absolutely exhausted. It's genuinely not worth coming here, people are awful, food is absolutely dog poo for the price and it's usually poorly made (I used to order from then until I could drive and will never again now.) SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE

We order from here quite regularly as the food is consistently good and well priced. Tried a different kind of pizza for a change today (chefs special- smoked sausage & onion) and it was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Even on a bad day this place is good, but today it was fantastic.

Worst food , they abuse the customers and delivery drivers in their natives language all the time I suggest please don’t encourage this shop

Used this chippy in the past it’s went down hill orders wrong and oily when phone up to ask to fix rude staff hang up on you don’t accept responsibility for wrong-doings! This place is terrible don’t waste your money you will be left disappointed.. Very rude staff

Used to order from here regularly, cut down on the fish and chips but as family were up decided to get a treat. Unfortunately food took over an hour to arrive and there was an item missing from the order. Called up and a replacement sent out but it was also incorrect, ordered with just sauce and it arrived overcooked and covered in salt (no sauce). Once one of my favourite chippies but I don't think I will order from them again unfortunately.

Fries were very limp. Fish looked and tasted like it came from the microwave. Bad experience!

Fountain Park Fry is hands down the best takeaway around! The food is absolutely delicious, well-priced, and comes in generous portions. My go-to is the chicken steak supper – the chicken is fantastic because it’s not processed like you find at other places. The chips are always perfectly cooked, and even with delivery, they never arrive soggy, which is a huge plus. Tonight, I left a note asking for delivery at a specific time as I was putting my baby to sleep, and they went above and beyond. The driver arrived at the perfect time and was incredibly considerate, avoiding the buzzer to make sure he didn’t disturb the baby. This level of care and attention is so rare and much appreciated. Thank you for the amazing food and thoughtful service. Highly recommend Fountain Park Fry – they’ve definitely earned their 5 stars!

We ordered some sausage suppers and they were inedible, the chips were soggy and in so much grease we just put them in the bin. Would not return. The staff were friendly and the shop was clean but they really should not be selling this quality of food.

Wow. Go on a Friday night. Decided to go for a pizza crunch for nostalgic reasons. Oil and batter were perfect. Yes it took a bit of time (10 min) but when you serve food like that it doesn't matter

Very bad experience. The owner himself doesn’t know how to behave, or serve food in a proper way. Went there to order for takeaway but had to cancel the plan because he was shouting at the staff and also was very rude to the customer infront of me. When I came here to see the reviews, almost everyone had this same bad experience. I am unable to comment on there food as I didnt try it because of these bad behaviours. They are lucky because there is no any late night shops in that area, or else would choose the other takeaways for sure. Very bad👎🏻

Ordered via Deliveroo, took a hoagie wrap but since deliveroo does not accept change for this restaurant I called immediately for have no salad since I disgust it (did already couple times with no issue)today tried to call for 20 minutes in a row, strange was always occupied.. Now I have spent 11 pound for basically cannot eat because I cannot change and I do not eat salad. Plus the fact that we paid for a bottle of coke that never arrived.

Finest chippy in the area, great selection and always has fresh fish. Highly reccomend this place to eat, always a friendly atmosphere

Looked bashed up and the boy that was serving was very intimidating and before we got it the guy stuck his finger in the fish and chips and expected us to eat it. Accepted my order but apparently were closed. so they took my money and I'm getting no food. Apparently won't get a refund until tomorrow, ridiculous.

I normally don't eat here but tried it last night. Horrible experience. Chips were only blanched not fried. Pretty difficult to miss at both the cooking and prepping stations, had I seen that before I got home I would have asked for my money back. 14 quid in the bin.

Decent experience, busy Saturday night shift. the bearded host was delightful when we arrived, but unfortunately it quickly took a down turn when we had to have our order taken at the till. Took a couple minutes to be seen and then directed to the manager Dany. Despite doing almost nothing around the venue, and being completely unpleasant, he still somehow managed to get order wrong and ring my 1/4 chicken as a 1/2 chicken, which I only found out when the food arrived, obviously costing me more. Aisha, however, who seemed to be the only reason the place is still running, was delightful and friendly when dropping off the food. Couldn't get the order fixed because we were on a tight schedule. Please let Aisha run the venue because the manager obviously doesn't care

We weren’t being loud trying to order chicken and chips, and a fella on the phone told us to be quiet as they were having problems with their line. Could have easily just gone next door. Weren’t overly accommodating or apologetic. Won’t be going back to that kind of treatment.

We came here with friends from the US and Canada on Saturday night, and brought them to Nandos because you can't go wrong with a cheeky Nandos right? WRONG! Ordered on the app, food took forever to come and some of it was wrong/missing and cold. This isn't even a big problem, we weren't in a rush, staff were nice enough and replaced anything we needed. The most fun part of the visit was the food poisoning that 5 of our group got hit with. I still have no idea how food that takes so long to be served can still be undercooked. There's nothing like 24hrs of constant vomiting and diarrhea, curled up fetal on your bathroom floor (and an IV drip for one of us) to really seal off a Bank Holiday Weekend. Totally wrote off our Sunday plans, and made our hotel owner very happy with the extra night we had to fork out for because we were too ill to travel home. If you ever need to lose a few lbs quickly, save yourself a trip to Slimming World and go to Fountain Park Nandos instead. I've only given it a 1 because I can't give a 0.

Family of 6 here on vacation staying at Hampton by Hilton. We asked bartender for a good fish and chips close , he said try this place, it was awesome, they showed us the fish (haddock) it was a huge filet. It was fresh. He cooked it in front of us while we waited along with the fries, we brought it back to the hotel to eat. Highly recommend this place for price and quality, people were very pleasant also. Oh my goodness! Our first trip to Edinburgh, Scotland UK, from the Big ole state of Michigan, USA.... and we were so hungry for fish and chips... We found Fountain Park Fry, and the twin brothers did an amazing job with our fried haddock, fish 'n chips. Thank you for some great food. 5 STARS *****

i am not happy with this, they say the food is all halal but they cook the food in the same FAT as all the other food. i got a fish supper it was revolting and all soggy and the manager/boss hung up and was very rude and never resolved the issue or even apologised do not recommend this place to worst enemy.

Absolutely amazing chips cheese and curry sauce, they definitely weren’t stingy with the cheese and sauce like most takeaways are. Juices are super expensive tho unfortunately. Would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t so expensive.

Had a sausage supper lastnight and ended up spewing the whole thing back up several hours later. It had definitely been sitting for a very long time as the sausages were almost completely cold when I got home. Ate it none the less as I was starving and paid the price. No chance i'll ever be going back.

Came to this Nando’s to have a meal with my family and 2 of the plates came within 10 minutes of ordering. 40 minutes later 2 of us are still waiting on food only to be told they have run out of chicken thighs. I will not be returning I repeat I will not be returning. To top it off the place was so quiet!

Donner wrap what a size its mahoosive and great value for the money and tastes great eating as I type and the chips and cheese are also amazing not over cooked just the right crunch and the cheese melted hot and stringy brilliant I will be back and also told my colleagues as well all hungry bus drivers

I have mean meaning to try fountain park fry for a while now due to the late opening times I must admit. It is without doubt my go to chippy now , although I live a good two plus miles away the food was piping hot and absolutely delicious, definitely recommend.I wrote this review have way through eating as it so deserves a five star , I have now completely finished my chippy…. For the first time ! Thank you fountain park I will definitely be back !

Placed the order at 1830 and delivery was estimated to be around 1920, no food at 2000 so called shop to be told it would be leaving in 5 mins. 2045 still no food so call again at 2045 to be told it has just let the shop and arrived around 2100. 2.5 hour delivery for food is a joke but not as much of a joke as what eventually arrived. One item was missing, phoned the shop to complain and the guy that answered clearly didn’t listen to what I said and couldn’t get me off the phone quick enough so paid £3.90 for nothing, poor customer service. As for the combo box, vegetable pakora was a ball of greasy sludge that had an unpleasant smell, kebab meat was dry and overdone and the pizza over done. If I could give zero stars I would.

We visited Nando's at Fountain Park, Edinburgh today at around 2ish after we were compelled to leave McCowans pub at Fountain Park. We experienced a lot of overt and covert racism at McCowans and apparently my valid Uni id, which had an expiry date, suddenly didn't have one. I was repeatedly dismissed, experienced rudeness and hostility when ordering at the bar and we weren't made to feel welcome at all. We actually had gone out for my son's pre-birthday meal with his pal and this was an extremely frustrating and angering experience. We went to Nando's at Fountain Park, Edinburgh right after and were served by Stella who was very friendly and hospitable. When she checked in on us while leaving, I told her what happened and she got Katie, the asst. Manager, who was very compassionate. Katie got us the email of the head of security and on hearing we were out to celebrate my son's birthday, in advance, got him a voucher. This wasn't necessary but my son wanted me to pass on that he was both delighted and grateful for the voucher. Thank you both so very much!

The owner of this shop regularly parks illegally and dangerously on the corner outside his shop, simultaneously ON the pavement, ON double yellows, IN a protected cycle lane. I once challenged him on this behaviour, pointing out the danger, illegality and inconsiderate nature of his actions - he told me "I don't care." Hopefully he cares more about the food he produces.

why they call you fast food there is nothing like that. and let your customers know that you prepare your customers' orders on site and your personal deliveries first and other delivery platforms can go for green caviar. people wait in their homes for an hour or two to eat your greasy feasts. Let me tell you that you are not the only food shop. I won't set foot in your place, I've been waiting for 30 minutes like some .........

Before the stomach ache, it was 5-stars. Now 3. Previous review: Wow, it was a very impressive portion for the price. I went for the 'combo box 2', ordered in person. £13.30 with pepperoni on the pizza. It included a sizeable pizza, fair amount of chips, lots of Donner meat, salad and 3 veg+chicken pakoras.

Prices are all over the place, hygiene is a massive issue here (staff, food and the shop itself) and the food itself is subpar. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else

Ordered a chicken kebab, with salad. The kebab came and it looked like it had been thrown in, covered in a weird sauce. Never seen anything like it. Ended up with food poisoning. Phoned the dump and the owner refused to take any blame. Place should be closed down. Seen rats running around the side of the building. Customer service skills are absolutely vile. Just like their nasty food

We walked in at 9pm and asked to be seated and were told it would be a 25min wait for a table. So, we decided to go next door for a game of table tennnis after being assured we would receive a text when our table was ready. We received the initial text to say were in the queue and linking their app. After about 30mins the app sent us a message to say, "Sorry we're running a bit late but will seat you as soon as possible". I then sent a friendly message on the app which got no reply. After 50 mins I decided to check on line only to see the the place was marked "closed". When I went next door to check, I found people closing down. One waitress informed me that they hadn't ordered enough stock and had to close early. I asked why no one had let us know, and nobody wanted to take responsibility. Manager came over and was smarmry af, said it was a human error and nothing could be done. Rude. u Useless. Eaten there before and the food was mediocre at best. Thought I give them another chance, my mistake. Avoid, if you want decent food and customer service rooted in a bit of respect, rather than self-importance. The only thing that's cheeky about this place, is the staff's instability to take responsibility for a blatent, evening souring miskake.
