Love the food here , staff are always friendly and helpful .Greg, Lucia & Amelia went out of their way, above and beyond in looking after my parents before they passed away this year , even taking food & drinks out to the car as Mum was unable to mobilise . An never thank them enough for their love and care . We as a family are regulars for gorgeous breakfasts , coffees and ice cream . Highly recommended and the views are amazing !

i had today fortes icecream ..well i am so disappointed as the icecream was not the icecream i had 5 months ago! runny very sweet nothing like the one i really enjoyed before which was tasty thick creamy… what’s happened? maybe the freezer wasn’t working come on you are going to lose people

Ordered 2 ice creams thinking this was the place to go for the best, oh my how wrong i was, tasteless sugary and melting as soon as it hit the cone, would have been best placed in a cup and given a straw, Go to joes ice cream if your looking for a proper ice cream!

Good coffee/food at a reasonable price. Staff are friendly and menu variable. We have been visiting for a very long time and satisfaction is guaranteed.

The food is ok, The food comes out quick and the staff is nice however, i dont know. I'd Rather eat at trams or pippins.

Not a fan of ice cream but my partner went and ordered raspberry ripple and Turkish delight. Was amazing friendly staff, great ice cream which tasted more gelato which I personally prefer and beautiful setting. Highly recommend

We are staying in Limeslade again & used Fortes before & was lovely.... but my goodness what a change! We ordered poached eggs on toast, simple snack. It arrived looking like a cross between boiled & fried egg! The yolks were solid & my husbands whites we runny. The toast was like warm bread. When my husband called over the waitress & told her & he didn't want a replacement, she just shrugged & said ok & took it away! No one came & asked why or even offered a refund! Such a shame as this place was lovely & always went on out stays here, but no more.

We ordered two straight-forward hot drinks - one just requiring hot water and a tea bag. With five staff on duty, it is hard to understand why it took nearly 15 minutes for our drinks to be delivered (and we had to chase them up) - and there was no-one ahead of us who'd ordered! The young girl who took the order couldn't have been more surly and unsmiling if she'd tried, but clearly it's a case of minimum wage, no training in customer service for the teenage staff but maximum profit for the owner. Such a shame as the place has great potential.

We made a trip to The Mumbles on our way around Wales on our vacation. Boy, were we completely underwhelmed with this town overall. However, we stopped in here at Forte's for a couple of cones, and it was delicious. Great service too!!!!

Amazing foods and excellent ice cream. The service is also terrific. However slightly on the pricey side.

We had a lovely freshly made sandwich here and also one of their ice-creams. Lots of flavor choices. Good seating inside ten tables each seating four also a few seats outside. Lovely staff.

I had a Turkish delight and coconut cone with a flake. My boyfriend had a biscoff and cookie dough cone with a flake. It was delicious and could tell that it was homemade but it was a tad pricey. What you pay for two double cones you could also have at least one hot drink also in another place. Definitely is worth trying just once. And is definitely a treat.

My other half was in work, step daughters were at their fathers so a free day to myself. I came to the beach and had an ice cream, a cup of tea and a read of my book. Staff were really friendly, helpful and polite, fantastic service.

Visited with my wife July 12th at 1-30pm and both had takeaway tubs of vanilla ice cream with a dash of raspberry sauce. Hope this was just a one off but it was a total failure on all counts. The ice-cream was tasteless and lumpy...

Visited just before lockdown. And it’s one of my favourite place’s for it’s tasty ice cream! Loads of different flavours to choose from. And amazing views to take in. Highly recommended

The location of this place is near Bracelet Bay and quite close to the Castellamare cafe and restaurant. The food was very good and delicious especially on a very wet day which we had. The price for the food was ok. It has breath taking...

Can't beat the location - great views over Limeslade bay -if you are lucky you may see a passing(swimming) seal. Great for a breakfast (late -10 am) coffee,snacks and of course ice cream.

Stopped for a breakfast roll with our dog. Dogs allowed inside (if well behaved). Very friendly and family feel to place. Food was good and we will definitely use as our regular when we visit Mumbles.

We've been living in and now visiting Swansea for 25 years but only discovered Fortes last year. But it's definitely now a form favourite and this trip back it was the first place our boys wanted to visit. Service, ice cream, snacks,breakfasts and lunches all really good. The staff are so lovely and they work hard, particularly when it gets busy.

On a nice day, a walk along Bracelet Bay, A Ice Cream, and down to another beach where we sat and ate our Ice Creams, what could be better?

Went to visit this lovely cafe the other day, and was served by a lovely short, bearded boy. He was very polite and conversational, he made me feel very welcome! He is a credit to the Forte’s and deserves so much recognition from the managers!

Great little coffee shop, we come here most Sundays. The fruit tarts are lovely and the prices are not extortionate for the area, dog friendly with stunning views. The staff are very friendly. We always leave with an ice cream!

Sunday 24th February was a glorious bright warm sunny day without a cloud in the sky. A beautiful Spring day (in February ???).

We have been going to Fortes for years and years and its wonderful. It has great charm and even better ice cream- the best in Swansea! It is however Lucia, Amelia and the team that make it special. The welcome is always warm and friendly and its so much better than a cafe from a national chain.

If you are in The Mumbles you “must” visit Fortes Ice Cream Parlour on Limeslade Bay, a two minute drive from Mumbles centre.

Traditional, wooden building - cafe from the 1950s, with excellent coffee, cooked breakfast and home made ice cream. Wonderful staff and service, and they let dogs in!!!

Very good service, followed by amazing food. My chorizo, mozzarella and pesto panini was served on a oyster shell style plate, and came with a fresh salad garnish. It’s a very heartwarming and welcoming cafe, with polite and very friendly staff. Will definitely be making a trip back! Thank you for such a lovely experience

Visited Forte's Ice Cream Parlour today with my dog. Staff and owner very friendly and pleasant. The cafe is dog friendly and you can sit inside or out with your dog. I had a coffee and light snack my dog had a sausage. It was brilliant and I shall be making this cafe a regular place to visit with my dog. The food was cooked to perfection and presented and was really good value for money. Fantastic

This is the sort of ice cream parlour I remember from my youth. The varieties are numerous and the quality superb. There is a current trend to put salt into ice cream nowadays (ie - a parlour in Mumbles) but not this place. Pure, creamy and a delight to enjoy.

I regularly visit this place for breakfast and ice cream. It’s a beautiful spot with lovely views, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is great and you have to try the salted caramel ice cream it’s amazing

When I was a child (literally a previous century) Bampa would take my sister and I onto the hill top path from Westcliff, Plunch Lane. We'd sit a while watching the Cork ferry or imagine where the freight ships were from that were waiting for the tide to change so they could dock at Britton Ferry. Bampa would teach us to play tunes through a blade of grass and we'd watch the ramblers along the lower sea path. Eventually we'd wander down the rugged track onto the steps beside Fortes at Limeslade Bay.

Lovely little café and Ice Cream Parlour just round the bay in Mumbles. A good selection of flavours, reasonably priced and served by friendly staff. I'll pop in again next time I'm in the area.

Went here for ice cream with hubs I had minty choc chip which had little chocolate buttons which was heavenly. Hubs had strawberry . We had x2 scoops in a tub each which was more than enough. The ice cream was really creamy, prices at 3.20 per tub which I thought was quite pricey if buying 2. We did really enjoy and will probably go there again.

For fans of Dr Who this is a must! Outside of the TARDIS this is the only place where I have seen the laws of physics being defied. Somehow the staff manage to conjure up a menu including an eclectic English breakfast, omelettes and jacket potatoes from a kitchen the size of a match box!

After a long walk along the coastal path my wife and I stopped for a large ad delicious ice cream and we were not disappointed, The young staff members were lovely and very friendly,we will definitely be back before we go back home

Called in here recently for an ice cream for my Grandson.

Went here for a quick visit prior to going on a walk around mumbles. Was served by very polite staff who engaged every customer with conversation whether it was quick or just a simple offering of advice. Only had a cappuccino with my friend, but it was lovely.

Probably my favourite ice cream parlour in Swansea. It hasn’t changed since I was a child and the ice cream is delicious with a few flavour choices nowadays. I had salted caramel and coconut during this visit.

Upon every visit back to my hometown of Swansea we call for a mini breakfast, freshly cooked and served by delightful, friendly staff . The view, whilst tucking in to eggs, beans, bacon and hot buttered toast, consists of the lighthouse and the rocky beach below us. Even on a stormy, windswept day we could sit inside all day never taking our eyes of the view. There is seating outside for those who like to take up the sun or enjoy the elements the season can throw at you. Broad selection of sandwiches, pies, soup, cakes and of course Forte’s famous ice cream in a range of flavors. Clean disabled toilet facilities. No designated parking area.

This has become not only my place for ice cream when I visit Mumbles but my husbands favourite breakfast stop. The service is great, with the staff friendly and chatty. The fact it is a dog friendly establishment is a bonus.

The place Hasn’t changed in 20 years ice cream is lovely. Prices are ok service is good. Parking can be a bit of a pain but it’s worth it

As any Parlour should be. Excellent Ice Cream selection even an Easter Hot Cross Bun flavour that was divine. Good wholesome sandwiches which were true and honest and not artistically mucked about with. Nice coffee. Helpful and cheerful staff. Excellent view over the bay and really a very welcome repast from the grey clouds and chilled Easter weather. Thank you

I have been going to forte's for ever and it never fails, It is a institution in our family we try and go every 2-3 weeks but the winter is the best, sitting drinking horlicks and eat apple pie with ice-cream while watching the storm blow out side, my wife likes it in the summer, sitting outside with a coffee and the sun beating down but what ever the weather it's fab. The food is always fresh and well cooked with something for most people, but the pie's is the best, enjoy

Staff could not have been kinder to us and our enormous dog. Made a huge fuss of him and gave him treats. On a bitterly cold day we had bowls of steaming homemade veg soup. Easily fulfilled our ‘five a day’. Great old fashioned ice cream parlour with loads of pictures of old Mumbles, and a fantastic view. Reasonably priced and a complete joy. All it’s missing is a log burner to rival the extremely popular Langland Surf Side. Will definitely call in again.

Just enjoyed a delicious Veggie breakfast at Forte’s Ice cream parlor in the Mumbles. On a bitterly cold and wet day it definately hit the spot! Great service, friendly staff who actually seem to be enjoying their work (unusual these days), a very reasonably priced for the area. Can’t think of anywhere that I can buy a cup if good tea for only £1.30, especially in the Gower. Very impressed! I shall be returning.

Please note this review is for Limeslade Fortes, the little one. Lovely homemade veggie soup with a warm roll and egg mayo sandwiches on really good brown bread. Both generous portions, washed down with frothy cappuccino. Nice and quiet, no loud music, rare these days. Lovely staff.

Not many people will find this place as its a little hidden gem. Easiest way to find it is come out of the bottom of Mumbles and then park in the big car park at the top of the hill where the children's playground is, then walk down as its double yellow lines along all of the roads around there. The ice creams are to die for, and you cant beat sitting outside in the summer and taking in the view with a nice afternoon cuppa and an ice cream.

I was just saying to others with me that Forte's had been there overlooking Limeslade Bay in MUMBLES for at least 50 years, when I noticed the message on their glass door "Founded 1936". Crickey, how long is that?

My husband and I decided to visit here for lunch, the atmosphere was very welcoming. We ordered our food and drinks, the prices were very reasonable. The food was served quickly and it was lovely. The cafe was very clean

Such a lovely, friendly, old-fashioned in the best way place for a coffee, a breakfast or a simple lunch. Fabulous ice-cream too. The staff are so welcoming and work non-stop to look after everyone. Lots of locals when we visited (three times) but newcomers are treated just the same. Don't change or modernise, it's a gem!

Although small, Fortes is perfectly formed. Excellent location, excellent food and coffee. Really lovely, friendly staff. I'm almost afraid to review it in case more people but, but I think the word is already out!

we have been returning to this cafe for over 40 years and its a sort of place that everyone returns as vigil to Fortes ice cream .This may a small little cafe but its very popular for its ice cream and its memories .There is seating inside and out and they serve light lunches as well as snacks.There are no toilets here and no child chairs. with views to the bay this is tradition not to miss.

I went to Forte's as a child and now take our grandchildren there. It's the best view, the best coffee and serves lovely food and ice cream. The best place in Mumbles

Quite simply the best ice cream on the Gower. Park at the top of the hill, walk down and grab a simple vanilla cornet (with a flake) and eat while enjoying the view over Bracelet Bay. Bliss!

Ate breakfast twice here when we stayed at Limeslade Bay, Food was cooked while we waited, Staff were friendly and was well priced. Even allow dogs into the cafe. which was great the second time we visited as it started to rain.

We have been here dozens of times over the years as very frequent visitors to Gower. This has always been a favourite coffee / breakfast stop. However, visited this morning and just ordered 2 coffees, 1 bacon and egg sandwich and 1 toasted tea cake. Coffees came after a couple of minutes, but then waited almost 25 minutes for the tea cake and sandwich- sorry, but there were only 5 other people in and this delay meant coffees were finished long before food arrived. Have noticed a decline in recent months, but today was just too bad. Next time we come, we will have breakfast somewhere else - which is a real shame as we hope to come and live nearby very soon.

This ice cream parlour, is only small and is a bit isolated, but it does have some really lovely flavours, which change regularly, as they are home made. They do have a really fresh taste and are lovely.

Since we've been having some nice days, I thought I'd try fortes. I always wanted to go in but never had the chance. The ice cream is lovely and light tasting. the staff were warm and friendly.

Started with an ice cream which was just the ticket on a warm afternoon. Returned later for a cup of tea which we drank at a table outside while watching the world go by. Friendly service.

Situated over looking Limeslade bay this small ice cream parlour has been here since I was a child...over 60 years! Their ice cream is soft and delicious .the out looking over the bay is lovely ,and over looking the lifeboat look out.

I have been here on several occasions and they have all been good visits.

Lovely ice creams and coffees and various snacks. Very reasonably priced too. Also table and chairs outside to enjoy the good weather too

This has the better ice-cream than an other overhyped place close-by, better prices and better views. I hope it stays just the way it is. Let the tourists stay down the road and leave this gem to the locals.

Right on the coast, with sea-walks in both direction, or up the hills behind the beaches. Will you walk before or after a stop for a hot drink in winter or ice-cream in summer? Or vice versa?
