Dropped in for a quick lunch before a visit to the Bronte Parsonage. What a great little place, so different to the usual bland cafe. The owner was very pleasant and cheerful, nothing was too much trouble. We had a sandwich and shared a piece of homemade cake all delicious. Although a tiny place it was big on personality. Hope it all went well at Saltair 1940s we we told about.

Been for a walk round Haworth with the dog and called in , this is the best TEA room I know we just wanted a afternoon creamtea, we had creamtea the scones were homemade with jam and real cream and fresh strawberries the added chocolate was a bonus. if I had wanted lunch I would have visited one of the many cafe's in the area. The staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home, the staffs singing and cheerfulness really brightens the day would highly recommend a visit.

We were shocked at the basic menu and decided to get two toasties. The bread was very cheap, with tasteless cheese and poor quality ham. Our cappuccinos were like warm milk with froth on the top and chocolate sprinkles, hardly any coffee flavour. Our table cloth was filthy, covered in tea stains and very grubby. Simply not acceptable. The side salad was fresh but small, and again ‘basic’ lettuce, cucumber and tomato, with a few crisps. I’d knock the crisps on the head, a bit naff? From the minute we arrived the lady serving us was singing, it was too loud and she clearly wanted attention. It made us feel very uncomfortable as it was clear that she was doing it for effect, not just a happy worker quietly singing. Talk about cringe, it was very embarrassing. The lady also greeted every single customer the same, and it felt wooden and unnatural, it began ‘good afternoon….. and welcome to my living room……’ it was just bizarre. She then went on to ‘joke’ how she couldn’t afford an indoor toilet and you had to use a yellow bucket in the back garden. Just not funny really. The interior has clearly been a labour of love and they’ve put a lot of effort into giving it the wartime feel, so it’s a real shame the food is poor and the service from staff just made us feel uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong, she was pleasant and clearly trying to offer guests an experience but for us, it was just simply weird. Stop the singing, improve the menu and just act normal, without the strange script. We couldn’t possibly visit again as it’s one of the most bizarre places we’ve ever visited with poor quality food.

We all loved Forteas. The food is lovely but not expensive, the staff are lovely, the decor is fabulous, the experience is brilliant. My son had a milkshake from heaven, we had two for tea (although enough for 6) and we all had sandwiches or toasties. Simple but beautiful. Can't wait to go back. Ps the toilet is fabulous - reminded me of my nan's outdoor toilet.

I want people to know about this wonderful 1940's themed café in Howarth. Not only is it a fantastic place to visit where the food is sublime and the staff are so friendly. the owner Chay and her Mum Janet are angels. Let me explain (and I hope Chay doesn't mind me posting this) I had booked a Christmas afternoon tea to celebrate my Mum's birthday on 1st Dec. However due to having been made redundant at the beginning of the week I rang Chay to cancel. Bless her 🥰she wouldn't let me cancel saying to bring me some cheer it was on the house with love. Well she brought me good luck as well as cheer, as I found a new job yesterday🎉 I rang and offered to pay but she still wanted to honour her offer ❤️ as we have known each other for years I said could we split the bill which we did. Thank you so much for making mine and mum's day ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The cafe is really thought out with the 1940s theme, staff are friendly, and cakes looked good. However, it's just not ok to be charging £3.20 for a cappuccino when you don't have a coffee machine. A packet mix, whisked together and heated in a microwave is pretty poor. It is also super sweet as it must be 3 in 1 mix which contains sugar so no good for coffee drinkers who don't take sugar like my wife who couldn't drink it and left it almost untouched.

Lovely inside, nicely decorated for those that want a 40’s vibe, Food was very poor. Yorkshire Rarebit was just cheese on toast, unbelievable. Toasties were just as bad. Very cheap ingredients, my 10 year old son could put a dish together better. Coffee was nice, that was the only saving grace. Overall, overpriced and extremely underwhelming meal.

Smashing place! We had arranged an afternoon tea during a visit to Haworth to celebrate a birthday. The tea was a treat, choices of sandwiches, crackers and cheese, savouries, grapes, scones with jam and cream and a lovely Victoria Sandwich cake with copious amounts of Yorkshire tea. Couldn’t have asked for more. There was a fab 40’s soundtrack to go with the ambience, which was now and then punctuated by the mellifluous tones of the proprietor joining in, and very good she was! All in all a lovely afternoon which was more of an immersive experience than an afternoon tea. Would thoroughly recommend.

We visited ForTeas yesterday afternoon, the food was delicious, the scone amazing and the best bit were the mother/daughter owners. They were amazingly friendly and really fun in their 1940’s outfits. The tea room itself is full of quirky decor and I would definitely recommend...

Went to this tea shop this afternoon and what a wonderful experience it was ! Attention to detail was fabulous . True nostalgia for a time gone by being recreated in the 21st century, with the hopes of a post pandemic positive experience !

Fantastic meal for two. We shared two of the nibbles to start - Korean belly pork bites and fried jalapeño. Both delicious! Mains were tasty and such a generous portion. Would definitely return and recommend

I’m so pleased that I have such a fab chippie on my doorstep! Literally the best fish n chips in Yorkshire! 😍 They do gluten free fish and cook in vegetable oil, and chips are white and batter is light and crispy, just how I like it. 😊 The staff make you feel like you’re one of the family. Super friendly, chatty and funny! Batter and banter at its finest! Thank you 🙏 A lovely Yorkshire institution with a smile, exceptional food and superb customer service Try it now!
