Ordered take away on Saturday and had to wait almost 2 hours for the food, which was 1 hour longer than the estimated time they gave for collection.

I placed an order online and asked for no veg in my chow mein it came with veg phoned them and they said if I went food with no veg I have to phone so they told me I would have to eat as it wouldn't make since to send out more as it would take another 45mins to be delivered I said that it was fine and I would wait it turned up again exactly the same as the first one right at closing time so i couldn't ring them or go to them so my both food delivery's went in the bin and I wasted my money not very happy but the delivery man was very nice and apologised on there behalf

1 star to match your disappointing 1 star food hygiene rating. It such a shame as the concept works so well. Slightly improved to 2 but still not great.

Last 4 orders have had missing items or over 1hour 30min late or order went missing or not collected. Shame as food really good

Placed an order for over £90 on Saturday night at 7.10pm... received the order at 9.45pm. Absolutely unacceptable service. I was told it would be 45 mins to 1 hour for delivery. I called to chase at 8.30pm to be told the delivery driver would be back in 10 mins to collect our order and then deliver - we are about 15 mins away so thought 30 mins max. Tried calling again just after 9pm but they close and disconnect their phone lines so you're screwed. I emailed on the night, again the next day, and again the next...no response yet. Absolutely mental customer service - or lack of! Also good luck getting through on the phone, I was on hold 10-15 mins before my calls was even answered. Won't be using or recommending Fort Woks again. Edit- update on 12/03 I’ve emailed every day and tried calling (but being on hold for 5/10/ mins I give up) and not one response from this place. Disgusting service and disgusting management. Avoid at all costs.

Worst service I have ever come across, lucky if you can contact them by phone and when you finally do your lucky if all your order actually comes complete. Had delivery issues with this place before but thought we would give them another try, safe to say we will never buy food from this place again.

Foods always great!! Great customer service !! After ordering some food as my husband was away on work and I was at home with 3 children they kindly still delivered to us even though the bill was Under the minimum delivery charge. Thank you

The food is really good. And the staff are friendly. Only downside is if you book online, you only find out after you’ve paid that it’ll be 1.5-2hrs delivery. Very slow delivery.

I wouldn’t say this Chinese has the wow factor but the food is nice , it’s probably not somewhere I would eat again but that’s not saying the food is bad just didn’t do it for me to eat again , I also asked for chicken omelette with no veg and I got a chicken chow mein with veg but it’s okay , I did it eat this but would of rather of had what I ordered no worries , just an honest review of my experience

Had a really lovely dinner from Fort Woks. Food was delicious and the service was very quick. Very generous portions as well with lots of meat! Will definitely be going back :)

STAY AWAY First time using this Chinese. Waiting over a hour for delivery. Tried calling to ask where it was. Nobody answering phone. Then it came. £60. We were missing a dish we rang up to find rude response. The food was hard and stone cold. We had to microwave our £60 Chinese. 40mins have passed and have no missing dish. Very disappointed.

Always a great atmosphere when waiting in the shop for food to be cooked. . It’s great to be able to see just how fresh the food is that’s being cooked and the speed the chefs work . . The manger is extremely customer focused and I’ve witnessed him go the extra mile to ensure a customer is happy.

After some bad times, Fort Woks is again a nice place for great quality food. But I want to highlight the extra mile the staff went for the residents in our nursing home, as they've gave us fortune cookies for everyone to support our activities for the Chinese New Year. Food is good but the service has gone down hill. We used to order from here a lot, now not going to bother. I had an email telling me to collect in 10mins - 55mins later still stood in the cramped restaurant waiting for my food. With not so much as a sorry from the boss. I’m not sure what’s happened recently but customers are definitely not the top of the agenda for them anymore.

As usual the food was great, the service? Not so good. Ordered on line for collection and email received to say ready in 10 mins. When I arrived they said to give them 10 mins, this took it to 15, ok, that's not bad. After 35 mins I asked how much longer as the email said 10 mins and I'd been waiting over 30. "Well, the email isn't exact" I appreciate that, but 3 times longer than advised? After 45mins a bag of food was placed in front of of me with an abrupt "there it is" no name or order check, no thank you. As I left I informed him I would be leaving an honest review. "What did you say" he shouted back My response " well there you go" Food 5 * Service...........

First time trying fort woks and the food and service was amazing small issue we didn’t receive the rice but the manager went above and beyond to resolve the issues and we were very grateful so thank you again, very happy and couldn’t fault anything spotless kitchen and thank you to the manager for fixing our order we will be back 100% 😊

Tried everywhere but Fort Woks is hands down the best.

Cannot fault Fort Woks, it’s our go to Chinese. There’s a meal that everyone loves in the family without it being disappointing, I always find the other chineses I need to pick around what I really like. I highly recommend Chilli Beef & the Salt & Pepper Chicken. Also they’re so welcoming when my other half takes the children in, even a game of chess to occupy the 9 year old. (Picture was a sneaky treat for me whilst the cats are away the mice will play, definitely breakfast and probably lunch too) 😆

Always a proper treat ordering from Fort Woks. Don’t live in the area anymore, and get very excited when I visit, because there really is no other Chinese takeaway like it! Cheers Rollo 😅

Food is exceptional only let down by the service. They tell you to come and collect in half an hour, left waiting for nearly an extra hour. With no apology given and asked if I was always this angry when I was actually quite polite to the man.

Friday night takeaway from Fort Works! I only had to wait a few minutes inside for our order, and the atmosphere was lovely, got to enjoy watching the chefs from the open kitchen. Delicious, our faves were the yummy chips and Kung pao prawns ⭐⭐⭐ we'll be back!

Tried most other chinese takeaways around us and I can hands down say Fort Woks are the BEST by far. The food is amazing, not to mention the incredible customer service, we ordered under the delivery minimum and couldn’t collect due to our car breaking down and they delivered it to us! Fantastic place, great staff with great food. Always worth the wait and freshly made EDIT- Had to wait 2 hours for our food the other day. No money off, no apology. Just really dissapointed because its such a nice place. Usually we would let it go just once but its unfortunately the third or fourth time we've had a really long wait, although this was definitely the longest. Have emailed them to discuss it further but no answer so don't expect an answer about anything if you contact them. We probably won't order from here again because we just can't risk the wait times but if you've got a few hours spare the food is great!

I recently had the most disappointing and disgusting experience at Fort Woks. I placed an order online for pickup, and was told my order would be ready in 30-40 minutes. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was told that my order would be ready in an additional 20-30 minutes. When I brought this to the attention of the restaurant manager, they were incredibly rude, horrible and unhelpful. After waiting for over an hour, I finally received my order. However, to my dismay, my order was completely wrong. I was so disgusted and flabbergasted by the entire experience that I will never return to this restaurant . I cannot believe that a restaurant would treat their customers in this way. I would strongly advise anyone considering eating at Fort Woks to reconsider.

Worst service, happy to take your money, and lie about time it will be ready, was told 30 minutes for the food to be ready, then told 10 minutes, then told another 10 mins. Was sat in there for 1 hour and 45 minutes until I got my food. The manager was extremely rude and not apologetic or understanding, just told me the chef is cooking!

Awful customer services, ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK. I made an order (vegetarian option) and they had it all mixed up, brought me someone else food which had chicken. Tried to contact them and the recipient was very rude and unapologetic. I went to their shop and they ignored me the entire time even though the posters outside their shop says they close at 11pm. They made me wait outside and kept on doing whatever. No respect to their customers whatsover. If it happened to me its a matter of time before it happens to everyone else. AVOID THESE PLACE LIKE PLAGUE

Unfortunately I feel the need to share my experience this evening. My review is based on actual events & in no way exaggerated. We placed an order over the phone , told 1hour 30/40 for delivery or 30 mins pickup. We chose pick up, the order was placed at 6.23pm. I arrived for collection 7pm. The manager said my order would be ready in 10/15mins, acceptable as it was very busy. There were quite a few upset customers in the shop as like me told a completely different time order would be ready. A couple of people asked & quite rightly the manager why he was telling customers completely wrong times, the manager in my opinion was very patronising referring to time as ‘science of time & that it was a very busy night’. The customers were only correct in questioning his style of management. I asked again at 730pm why my order was taking so long & told ‘he cannot predict an actual time’, I explained I had a family at home waiting for their dinner, that being told an order would be ready within 30mins I don’t expect to be waiting at this point 40 mins. I finally received my order @748pm. Nearly 50 mins later than expected. I asked the manager at this point what could he do for a better outcome. He begrudgingly apologised, I questioned why it took him this long to apologise & he said you can see I’m sorry. Again an absolute insult to injury. If things couldn’t any worse. I drive home to only realise the order was incorrect. It took another 10 mins to get through by phone & 1 hour for the correct dish to be delivered. Absolutely appalling.

This is the worst service I have ever received in a Chinese restaurant ever. They said they'd email my dinner once ready but after waiting over two hours nothing showed up. I went to the restaurant and they all ignored me. I have evidence videos. So in humane. Try at your own risk

Only one word can describe Fort Woks…Phenomenal! The service was impeccable with incredibly friendly staff, as well as this the food was spectacular. If you knew no better you would believe Fort Woks was located in the heart of China! I was only in Didcot for a couple of days and this takeaway definitely left a great impression!

I can’t begin to overstate how good the guys are at Fort Woks. Ordered some food for a set time for collection, however due to a minor miscommunication the food was ready too early. When I arrived to pick up, the team had already started cooking my food fresh again for me which I have to say was outstanding quality when consumed (which it always is). Now mistakes happen, however you should always judge a company on how it rectifies said mistakes and all I can say is Fort Woks really did go above and beyond to ensure I had a great customer experience! Excellent food and service, would recommend.

I absolutely love Fort Woks. I live in London and previously had a few meals from there whilst staying with friends who live in Blewbury. I remember raving to my friends that it was better than the takeaways I used to get from great Chinese restaurants in W2 in London (known for the quality of its Chinese restaurants). Just stayed near Didcot for a few nights and had literally the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. The sweet and sour sauce was smooth and fresh; and the duck pancakes sublime - all quite standard fare - but excellently done.

Ordered collection from Fort Woks for the first time last night. We picked the Banquet Box, and everything was incredible. I usually feel tired and bloated the day after eating Chinese food, but not from here. The food was also given promptly and with a smile.

Food took 2 hours to arrive. All was cold and tasted like it had been microwaved several times. Extremely dry. Forgot sauce and drinks.

Diabolical service!! After a two hour wait for food with ZERO COMMUNICATION we had two starters missing and what we did end up with was STONE COLD food. Which I then had to put in the microwave and air fryer. I have never known anything like it!! Horrendous experience and we will never be ordering from Fort Wok again. We can appreciate if it’s busier than usual but if it gets overwhelming then stop accepting orders so you can catch up and deliver food hot and in a timely manner. We tried calling for 30mins and just got left on hold. If you want cold soggy Chinese then Fort Woks is the place to go!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that in the past fork woks made me poorly and I had be scared to go back but when I couldn’t be bothered one night I went to get some food. It was absolutely amazing, the menu has changed (maybe the owners too?) and it’s MUCH better the food is good, hot and quick. I’m really impressed.

Always good food, it’s so nice that you can look into the kitchen while they’re prepping your food. The free tea really helps. Plus a lot of their menu caters to my gluten free/ coeliac partner.

Excellent service and food. Almost all food can be made gluten free which is hard to find in this area, and staff have always been helpful when talking through allergies. Always offered free tea while waiting and chess set in waiting area too.

Fort Woks has become our favourite take away. The food is always of great quality. We tend stick to our same core order but include a different dish each visit. Everything we have tried is fantastic. Staff are always polite friendly and courteous and the restaurant is always clean and well presented.

Well priced, well portioned and well seasoned! Never had a problem when ordering from Fort Woks, the food is exactly as you would imagine, and reasonably priced too!
