Nice venue. Unfortunately 2 servings of sourdough were so burnt we had to send it back.Am surprised it was actually served. No apology.

Great coffee and amazing coffee. Small menu but everything done to perfection. The homemade hash brown was beautiful. Will be back.

Before leaving chester to go back home wanted breakfast and this place came up good on review and was not dissapointed. A coffee, tea with egs benidict and a full English. Reasonable price good service and beautiful food, very nice indeed and worth a trip away from the hassle and bustle of the town.

Brilliant breakfast sandwiches and lovely coffee. Friendly service. We are in Chester on a visit. Wish this gem of a cafe/restaurant was nearer to home. Outstanding.

Went for brunch today. Had the full English which was the best I’ve ever had. It included all the elements you would expect but to another level! I normally leave anything which resembles a hash brown on a breakfast but this breakfast comes with their own rosti which was Devine! The breakfast also comes Bulgarian baked beans, absolutely delicious and full of sneaky veg (ideal for kids and grownups alike) Everything else was cooked and seasoned to perfection and every fork full was packed with flavour. We’ve had the coffee and cake on previous visits which are also top notch, and would give any patisserie a run for their money. Looking forward to trying more of the menu in the very near future

Lovely coffee and delicious food. We tried the Reuben Sandwich and Welsh Rarebit, followed by lattes with lemon drizzle cake and raspberry macrons. Everything was fresh and tasty. Staff were very welcoming and provided attentive, but non-intrusive, service. Nice location at the canal as a bonus. A bowl of water was provided for our tired pooches without having to be asked. Definitely hope to return on any future visit to Chester. Highly recommended.

The location, atmosphere and food are phenomenal. Just had what’s maybe the tastiest full English breakfast fast ever. The customer service is outstanding, going way above and beyond!

Wanted to try this place for a while as we live very close! We had a friend over from London so thought we’d give it a try. We all had the full English! It was absolutely delicious. Such great value too. Beautiful crispy bacon, tasty sausage (I never order a sausage as I’m always disappointed !!!) gorgeous sour dough etc! Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Go try it! Got a feeling I won’t be cooking breakfast again on a Sunday for a while!!!

Came for breakfast. Lovely venue by the riverside. Good menu selection and enjoyed the option of building my own sandwich. My husband is a big foodie and said his Welsh rarebit was the best thing he has ever had for breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. Options for indoor and outdoor seating. Hope to come back the next time we visit Chester

Laura's effervescent charisma has been a huge loss to Handbridge since Meltdown's closure, but will no doubt be a giant gain to whatever comes next for the (former) Toastie Queen. I say former, as there's one final chance to taste her magic creations before the apron is hung up for good at fellow Chester indie scene star That Beer Place on Foregate St tomorrow, which I wouldn't miss for all the cheese in Cheshire...

Great coffee, amazing stuffed croissants and very friendly service with a great playlist in the background. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in Chester and looking for speciality coffee.

Amazing and cheap, a must when you go to the market and you feel peckish after shopping for 5 hours with your family!🤪🤪 They also let my dog in

Just amazing. The bartenders are really knowledgeable and know their stuff. It’s the perfect place to sit in the Market. The drinks are amazing and perfectly balanced. They were more than happy to adjust my amaretto sour to my personal taste and checked back on me after a few minutes to make sure it was to my liking and I loved it! I will definitely be returning and recommending to people
