Lovely spot on the canel, food & coffee were delicious but very pricey! I ordered the pork in a croissant, which was small but tasty! Would have liked the rest of the croissant! Husband said his was perfect. Coffee was great.

My twin brother and I were walking along the canalside of the Shropshire Union Canal when we decided to drop by Fork & Flavour and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, interior is superb, light and airy, lovely decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this cafe both inside and when the weather is good outside looking out onto the busy and bustling canalside. We were here on a bitterly cold February morning, cafe was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered a flat white coffee each, these were served steaming hot, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular cafe while we sipped our coffee's. From the first sip till the last sup you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve in this busy and popular cafe, its hardly surprising that this cafe is so popular with coffee of this quality. We both really enjoyed our coffee's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to Fork & Flavour we had a great time. Fork & Flavour is easy to locate the Shropshire Union Canal on Seller Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday, 9am till 5pm. Sunday, 10am till 4pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning a trip to Chester.

When you visit a city like Chester there's a lot of cafes but as always the best ones are not the obvious ones in the obvious places which rely on passing tourism. Only 5-10 minutes walk from the city centre along the canal this is an unassuming but excellent cafe. Although we were tourists we felt like we were with the locals. We went back 3 times on our recent 3 day visit to Chester. First day had avocado on sourdough toast which was really impressive. Super tasty with addition of varied and interesting selection of leaves and veggies and finished with cameralised pecan nuts and pomegranate seeds Best avo on toast I've had and I am not often impressed in cafes. Next day went for breakfast. You can choose lots of different things. Mushrooms were well cooked and seasoned. Good well made scrambled egg and indulgent Gruyère on toast. Super filling and tasty. My son loved the eggs royale and chicken baguette - quoting the You Tuber Ryan Trahan he described them as "Super Yummy". As for drinks the coffee is hot and good and the lattes well made. I doubt you could do better in Chester than visit this excellent cafe for breakfast, brunch, lunch or for a drink and a snack. 100% recommend.

There was a small wait for food, but that shows how popular it is and how fresh the food is. We ordered breakfast sandwiches. I had the mushrooms and they were absolutely delicious, I can't recommend them enough! If you're staying at any of the nearby hotels, it's a great place to eat.

Waiter excellent. Food better. One of the most flavoursome breakfasts I’ve ever had. Cortado very good. Would be nice to sit outside (if weather was nicer).

Not a lot of choice for breakfast, apart from various cooked options. The tea was expensive and bland and the coffee weak

My friend and I had popped in for a drink earlier in the day and found it to be such a lovely place we decided to go back for our lunch. That decision turned out to be a great one! My friend chose the eggs benedict and told me it was absolutely delicious, my choice of mushrooms on toast I believe was an even choice as it was so exquisite i found myself taking my time to eat it so I can continue to enjoy it. The people who work there are very helpful and welcoming, I am already looking forward to going back there.

This a very good place. We had coffee and a full English breakfast which was excellent. It’s a must try… Only problem is the parking, best to park on city road and go down the steps to canal level. Easy for blue badge holders, parking right outside.

Wonderful location by the canal. Warm welcome from staff and a fantastic menu. We had brunch of avocado on toast and I was treated to home made gluten free focaccia - I normally have to duress cardboard bread and never bother to eat it. So perfect for gluten free bods. The avocado was served with poached pears and caramelised onions, which was a lovely twist. Coffee was great too and dog friendly. So all in all perfect a must if you are in Chester.

Went for brunch today. Had the full English which was the best I’ve ever had. It included all the elements you would expect but to another level! I normally leave anything which resembles a hash brown on a breakfast but this breakfast comes with their own rosti which was Devine! The breakfast also comes Bulgarian baked beans, absolutely delicious and full of sneaky veg (ideal for kids and grownups alike) Everything else was cooked and seasoned to perfection and every fork full was packed with flavour. We’ve had the coffee and cake on previous visits which are also top notch, and would give any patisserie a run for their money. Looking forward to trying more of the menu in the very near future

Lovely coffee and delicious food. We tried the Reuben Sandwich and Welsh Rarebit, followed by lattes with lemon drizzle cake and raspberry macrons. Everything was fresh and tasty. Staff were very welcoming and provided attentive, but non-intrusive, service. Nice location at the canal as a bonus. A bowl of water was provided for our tired pooches without having to be asked. Definitely hope to return on any future visit to Chester. Highly recommended.

Wanted to try this place for a while as we live very close! We had a friend over from London so thought we’d give it a try. We all had the full English! It was absolutely delicious. Such great value too. Beautiful crispy bacon, tasty sausage (I never order a sausage as I’m always disappointed !!!) gorgeous sour dough etc! Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Go try it! Got a feeling I won’t be cooking breakfast again on a Sunday for a while!!!

Came for breakfast. Lovely venue by the riverside. Good menu selection and enjoyed the option of building my own sandwich. My husband is a big foodie and said his Welsh rarebit was the best thing he has ever had for breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. Options for indoor and outdoor seating. Hope to come back the next time we visit Chester

Laura's effervescent charisma has been a huge loss to Handbridge since Meltdown's closure, but will no doubt be a giant gain to whatever comes next for the (former) Toastie Queen. I say former, as there's one final chance to taste her magic creations before the apron is hung up for good at fellow Chester indie scene star That Beer Place on Foregate St tomorrow, which I wouldn't miss for all the cheese in Cheshire...

Friendly local bar serving fine wine local beers, ciders and ales and guest beers and ales from around the U.K. excellent gin selection and Whiskeys too. Quiz night on Tuesday! Great for meeting friends and used often by cycling groups as they pass through! Opened in July/August 2022 and has served the community well. Dog friendly and children too. Recent addition is some Cheshire farm ice cream which is a favourite for the children during the hot weather. Well worth popping in for a pint of three and for the wine drinkers there is a good selection of fine wines.

What an absolute gem. We called in for some respite from the Christmas crowds in the run up to the big day and found a cosy cellar bar haven - a lovely malbec for me, a mulled wine for my husband and a Pepsi for our son plus some charcuterie and nibbles. Magic. We walked back out to the sunset and the twinkle lights ....one of those glimmers of joy. Thank you. So so much.
