Zoë was our server and she did an amazing job-super kind, friendly and helpful and really made our experience so comfortable ! Highly recommend for dates :)

An absolutely gorgeous venue for the whole family to enjoy, would highly recommend the haggis neeps and tatties they were absolutely to die for. Top top service here aswell, some of the best in the industry! Our server Zoë made sure we had everything we needed! Would reccommend in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a good meal in St Andrews.

Fantastic lunch, great service and good value. They were very busy but explained clearly. Vini served us, made us feel very welcome and helped us decide what to eat.

A lovely evening with excellent food and extremely good service. We had the goats cheese tarts followed by the venison pie, sausages and mash, and sides of roast veg and chips. Everything was perfectly cooked. Zoe our server was so kind and attentive and was working so hard all evening. We’ll be back and will probably purchase a gift voucher for family too!

Not the usual service for Forgans so really disappointed. We booked in advance for Easter Sunday lunch. Waited for 20min for starter. I had Cullen Skink soup, full of potatoes with barely no fish and no taste to the broth. An hour later we still had no mains which we chased up. When my Sausage and mash came the plate we cold, the mash and Jus also cold with 2 warm sausages. I sent it back. My partners fish was lovely though. We only had 1 hour and 45min on the table so decided not to bother with another main. Really disappointed as it’s usually good but won’t be returning anytime soon.

We had dinner at Forgan’s for our first night in St. Andrews, and it we had a lovely meal and memorable experience. We hadn’t planned in advanced, so we walked in via recommendation from a local, taking our chances and hoping that there would be an available table. Luckily for us, we were offered two seats at the bar (which we usually prefer anyway). The drinks and food were excellent, as was the service. We also enjoyed chatting with Sam, the lead behind the bar (and both his drink and food recommendations were spot on)!

Absolutely shocking service today, went with my hubbie has is type 1 diabetes and daughter. Waited over an hour and when we questioned how much longer we needed to wait the waitress said she misplaced our cheque/order!!!!! Poor show! Not the only table that weren’t happy. We will not be back. Avoid at all costs.

My partner and I visited the Forgan's restaurant last weekend. We have never been to St Andrews, this was our first visit. The atmosphere in the Forgan's restaurant was exactly what we needed, not too busy and the acoustics were quote good too. I often get frustrated if a restaurant has bad acoustics but this was not the case here. Nice and ambient lights too. The waiters were all lovely, very attendant, and polite. We ordered the steak for two with a bottle of the house red wine, and it was delicious! One of the best steaks I've had in a while. I highly recommend it. The peppercorn sauce was also a great addition and complimented the meat very well. We enjoyed the wine too. I also had the toffee pudding, and it was an excellent choice. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Straight 1%......at best I have written far more drafts on this than I should have done, all with the aim of informing anyone who might be thinking of wasting time and money at Forgan's. But best to keep it brief as the photos might be more informative than an endless tirade following an awful experience on 19 December 2023. I ordered mushroom tart with winter salad: in a nutshell, hard, dried puff pastry, tired withered mushrooms, and wilted rocket (maybe that's what happens to rocket in winter). My son ordered the classic burger: overcooked and burnt. I sent my tart back and refused to pay for it; he was too hungry not to eat half his burger before giving up. The only positive thing I can say is that, after being offered a full bill, Forgan's did in fact remove the cost of the mushroom tart. But not with an apology.

First visit to this place and really enjoyed it. The mussel and glass of wine deal was great, good value portion of really nicely cooked mussels in a bacon cream sauce with a side of super crunchy fries, washed down with a glass of house white - perfect lunch! This was recommended to me by a friend and I am so happy I went. First of all, I was dining alone and, whether this was a fluke or not, the staff placed me in the perfect place. I had a great view of the restaurant without feeling exposed to stares. The decor in the place is super interesting and cool and the music was great. They have a wonderful way of balancing a casual yet refined style of dining. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I ordered the olives, duck and sticky toffee pudding. These were delicious (and this could just be my own palate) but a few of the ingredients I couldn't pick up on such as the five spice in the duck and the coffee in the pudding, again, could just be me and nonetheless delicious!

I really enjoyed the panna cotta, it was flavourful and juicy! My mother in law enjoyed her fish and chips also, we will definitely be back :) Would recommend!
