Me and my friend booked to stay here on a fairly busy saturday night. The service from the moment we walked in until the moment we left was amazing! Our room was very clean. The only thing i would say is that the rooms could probably do with a re-vamp as they are quite outdated. We came down on the Sunday for a Sunday lunch. We both chose the 3 meats which was beef, pork and chicken. The portion sizes were absolutely huge and such a great value for money!! Staff were absolutely amazing , quick to serve and came to check and make sure everything was okay for us which was very nice as not many places i have visited do that anymore. Thankyou again to the Foresters for accommodating us and for 5 start service! We will definitely be returning!!

Visited this pub today hoping for a delicious meal as we had before Covid .The food was absolutely disgusting & tasteless really gone downhill unfortunately. Starters were awful as was the main meals .Definitely won't ever be back a terrible experience

A place to go if you like a hub bub of villagy noise. Pleasant staff and loud locals make this a place you treat like Marmite ! An overnight stay means you're likely to not sleep well till the early hours as the loud music continues til well after closing. Then the chatter of staff goes on til the late early hours.

Lovely welcome and host asked if we’d booked taxis for our evening and let us know helpful local information. Lovely clean room with everything we needed and comfortable. Highly recommend staying here we would definitely stay again!

Real English sports pub with lots of guests and good food

Stayed for the weekend for work, rooms are lovely, food was delicious (and very reasonably priced!) From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and there was a great atmosphere the whole weekend. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the chef was excited to try the new menu (which was excellent!)

Stayed a couple of nights. Food was amazing. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. Very friendly staff that were really enthusiastic about their jobs.

Great atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff, lady who works in the kitchen was especially helpful and really good with my autistic nephew. Food was fantastic and great sized portions, and particularly good service when you consider that we were a party of nine (plus dogs!) who turned up without a reservation. Would definitely recommend.

Booked an overnight stay, bed and breakfast. No room initially available. Eventually given one which was small, shabby and dirty. A chance comment led to us being told breakfasts were not available, though we had paid in advance. To be fair, the bar manager and barmaid, were as helpful as possible, but was an absolute disaster. I don't think we were expected at all. Shall never revisit! Bitterly disappointed we left very early Sunday morning, without even a hot drink. The cups on the hostess tray were stained!

Visited for lunch. Waited over 30 minutes for a cheeseburger. Order came out wrong then was spoken to very rudely by staff. Not worth the money, not worth the visit. Kids are ill.

The menu is well priced and the standard of food is excellent. Staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is great, especially with the warmth of a real fire.

They stopped doing breakfast between me booking and me arriving which was annoying. Booked month’s in advance. Should've been informed before arrival of the change to breakfast service. Expensive for what it was to be honest. Wouldn't stay there again.

We have come to stay near by for my birthday today. We came across this pub by accident, but so glad we did. The staff were all very friendly. The food was perfect and my husband said it was the best guiness he had had in ages. Highly reccomended and would come again of in the area. Thank you.

This could be a great pub in a great location but unfortunately it's a less than average pub in a great location. Barely acknowledged when ordering a very expensive and very average pint and not the best of vibes inside, I stepped into the beer garden to enjoy the rattling of the air con units and dodge the wasps near the empties. Trying to enjoy my time as much as possible, I supped in disappointment on my beer and sat and admired the 2 hanging baskets whilst earwigging on a joke about a shepherd and a ewe. Missed the punchline, finished my pint, left and reflected.

We had a single night stay after a wedding. I'm afraid to say its really gloomy inside and quite run down. The manager was friendly enough but the rooms were of a poor quality and I certainly wouldn't go back.

The staff could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable - a great nights sleep. And the food was delicious.

Great rooms, with a good bed, storage and ensuite. TV reception is rubbish, I felt I needed to reserve a table to eat.

Dirty, smelly and noisy. Absolutely appalling. I stayed on my own on Saturday night and had to fight my way to the bar through drunks to try to check in. I waited twenty minutes. I was shown up to the single room and told absolutely nothing other than if I went out late which door to use. The room was run down, with broken toilet an iron on the floor, dirty kettle, dirty curtains and a broken bathroom suite under the sink. The room absolutely stunk of fried food coming up from the kitchen underneath and stale beer. It was horrendously noisy with noise from the drunks downstairs and children running and screaming in the corridors that the room was in. Loud music was playing and there was a busy main road outside. Expedia do not put any of this on their description. The television kept breaking up with picture and noise. This whole stay was the most awful experience I have ever had. I tried to find somewhere else but everywhere was booked up that night. I was very tired as I had been with my daughter all day competing her horse so I gave in and stayed. To top it all the internet was some weird process of getting on to which was not easy. I was charged £75 with no breakfast. I got up really early and left really early as I could not wait to get out of the place. It was disgusting.

Not first time I stayed there.perfect place if you are doing sandstone trail. Can be a bit noisy since its a pub but will quite down after 10pm Food was really good and staff were really friendly Rooms aren't the cleanest but perfect stay for one night while doing the trail Will deffo go back

Large and very friendly pub set on the edge of the beautiful picturesque villiage of Tarporley. Our Sunday lunch was amazing and chef made sure we were all satisfied with our food...impressive staff hospitality ! Plenty of outdoor drinking space too in the beer garden for the warmer weather or enjoying watching sports on the giant screen. Highly recommended.

Popped in for a quick drink before football. Very rude staff. Had to asked to be served, 3 staff talking at end of bar paying no attention to customers. Won't be coming here again

I stayed here on 18th September 2022 for one night. The room was warm, and bed comfortable, the tea making facilities were excellent. Also there was a tray with bottles on and a small fridge. The Sunday roast was tasty and the breakfast excellent. The only negative thjng was normally bar staff knock the tv standby off but this did not happen and standby flashed amber to blue which was distracting. So check with staff thie tv is off. Otherwise, a very comfortable stay and will stay again.

My bowling team, 10 of us ate here last night the food was lovely and considering the chef was on her own she did an amazing job getting all our meals out together

Budget accommodation clean and tidy stayed in single bedroom would recommend a new bed or mattress apart from that job done.

Lovely pub, nice ales and very nice Landlady and Landlord. Highly recommended. I stayed in the accommodation as I was visiting Oulton Park next day which is a 10 minute drive away. It's an ideal base.

Stayed here as a stop over on the Sandstone Trail. Great location only a few miles off the trial. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived, lovely people. Vast selection of drinks, food was excellent. We eat an evening meal and had breakfast. The room was comfortable. An added bonus was the resident only sun terrace/balcony. We eat and had drinks up there. Ideal in the summer. Thanks to all at the Foresters Arms, fantastic 5 star service!

Stayed here for the night after walking part of the sandstone trail. The staff are brilliant. The room is nice with a nice hot shower an comfy beds. The food is lovely. Really nice atmosphere in the pub at night. Nice breakfast as well.

Nice little pub, clean and friendly, good carpark space, and nice beer garden

We have had two nights in the Forresters, sadly the occasion was a family funeral, however we were extremly well looked after, The room was clean and well presented with all amenities. The family held a post funeral get together at the pub and the staff were wonderful, supplying a exceptional buffet. Thanks to one and all

Great pub serving good food and drink

Lovely pub, food is great and very tasty, landlord needs slight customer service however bar staff and cooks were fantastic, quite disappointed with the room see through shower next to window, tap sinks broke and heating never came on, also major creaky landing outside our room so could hear everyone who walked past as my room on main road wide awake at 5, I can't fault the traffic as I picked location but no glazing, did have lovely beer garden allowing animals but won't be returning

Nice nut roast on a Sunday and friendly staff

Lovely traditional pub in the village of Tarpoley. Carpark to the back. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food from the new menu especially the Cambodian curry. Highly recommend it. Very accomadating as my husband is a fussy eater and they willingly swapped items for healthier options with his steak.

Very nice food, good atmosphere, the waiters provided an excellent service. The slight issue that I had when eating the southern fried chicken burger that was on the menu was that the bun they used was quite hard to swallow. Other than that, everything was good.

Four of us Visited on Saturday night lovely traditional pub with separate areas inside for food, drinking and games really nice atmosphere, with car parking as well. Really nice village the pub is set in. Good choice of food at very reasonable prices. I had the fish and chips which were one of the best i have had lovely batter and fish the rest of the group loved their meals as well, quick service and staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful as well. Will look forward to visiting again when in the area, would fully recommend to visit.

Great pint of Tim Taylor's in the sun yesterday evening with my group of golfers. Staff were brilliant and couldnt do enough for us.

Good during day but dead at night. Staff during day very good and very helpful. Beer garden nice and large. Evening staff not great. White wine at night was very warm. Vodka and diet coke flat and awful. Have up then.

Friendly staff. Rooms alright but unfortunately breakfast isn't cooked at present due to Corona.

Room was quite dated and a bit basic but okay for an overnight stay. Getting taxis to surrounding areas was a bit difficult on the evening I stayed. Breakfast was good.

Excellent value for money! Rooms are squeaky clean & housekeeping visits every morning, hoovers & refreshes the necessaries. Clean, crisp, sheets on very comfy beds, with plenty of pillow choices provided. Good Strong free Wifi signal - fast enough for YouTube / streaming. Piping hot fresh food, small wait as everything is cooked fresh upon order. Good selection of beers & sprits at the bar & very friendly service, nothing to much trouble. If you are a Race Team visiting Oulton Park (8-10 min away) This is the place for you! We will definitely be back. Many Thanks, Regards..... Bell Racing.
