Forest tandoori Indian takeaway in New Forest

In all my travels Ive never had such good indian food from a takeaway the tandoori mixed grill and biryanis are to die for, no wonder they have awards great helpful staff great prices…… I’m hooked highly recommend.

It's the only place my family will go for our curries.

Once a year I come all the way from Mexico specifically to have this curry. The Vindaloo is delicious. The service is wonderful.. If you are near the area, you must stop for the most delicious curry!

Tried out Forest Tandoori for the first time last night on the recommendation of more than one friend. It was a superb experience, from the phonecall to place the order, the delicious smell and friendly service when I walked in to collect it, and ending with more, flavoursome, freshly cooked food than we could possibly eat (and for less money than we have previously have paid elsewhere). For me, the lamb tikka biryani was the highlight of the meal - but literally everything we had was tasty, colourful and supplied in generous amounts. Definitely our new favourite takeaway!

Really excellent takeaway- large portions and great flavours. We had 2 dansaks, a rogan josh and a jalfrezi and all were delicious.

First time using this restaurant after a recommendation from a work colleague ordered over the phone and collected 20 mins later. Staff were extremely friendly even gave my daughter a lollipop for the journey home. The food was absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best Indian meal we have had in a long time. Will definitely be going back Highly recommend!

Spending few days in the New Forest and ordered from this restaurant on a whim. Very pleased that we did. Great food, generous portions and lovely customer service. Pay them a visit if you are near.

First experience at Forest Tandoori and was really impressed. We usually try another local Indian but after a dry meal that was expensive we decided to give this a go. So glad we did, friendly customer service, lovely food and portion sizes and best of all free popadoms & fresh salad! (Nothing comes for free these days!!) Thanks for a nice meal, be back soon!

We ordered food from this place, apart from the horrible red colors on the food, there was no salt or taste On top of it, they did not give the nan breads. Very very disappointing

Great take away Tandoori, very pleasant team of men that work in this establishment. They go out of there way to make sure the order is exactly what is needed. And the fid is very good. We returned twice in 3 days.

Best takeaway curry house for miles around. I think apart from the great flavours and large menu options, I like the fact that you can see the chefs cook your favourite dish right In front of you and you can watch them use all the different spices by freehand. Very friendly, nice atmosphere highly recommended this I personally wouldn't go anywhere else

I have had curries across the UK. And the most, at the very best, bang average, but here oh my god, these guys know how to cook a curry alright! Their style of curry is where commercial meets the home style, so, so good!

Yes they sold… Chef is back. Loads of bad press about. But I knew it was a load of bs. Came back in England after 2 years. This place has always been the best curry house in England imo. Tried tons from brick lane to Manchester. Im always having a polish curry always a bit disappointed, but it’s completely different to a uk one. Had been dreaming about forest tandoori for a year, every curry I have. I’m always thinking on the dansak they serve here but it never compares. Maybe that’s why I’m disappointed when I go else where. Last time I was down went to lal quila, was disappointed. Was very expensive and just not how it used to be. Was always a good experience in there back in the day. But was a poor curry. Better than rivaaz though, that one sucks! All I can say is damn, the chicken portion has got BIG!!!! First picture was day 1, 2nd pic next day for lunch. Must have been at least 16 bits of chicken tikka in it 😋🤤 Next day the curry is always better as the spices have time to mature. Only thing, it feels like they need a refit in there. Feels a bit neglected. Apart from that you will not be disappointed with forest tandoori!!! Absolutely spot on thanks 🙏

Came here tonight with work colleagues. Great service and lovely food. Added bonus on a Thursday there is a DJ playing some great music but not too loud that we couldn’t talk. Will definitely be back

Well how sad is this. I've had two take aways recently, and the meat is cheap and dry,and the sauce is painfully weak. I understand this business been sold recently and the new people clearly think downgrading on quality of ingredients will work ! Not so ! I'll never go back but a hugh thank you to the previous owners who delivered quality food...as one BMW M series owner to another you did great food. Best regards. Nick

We’ve tried the other 2 takeaway curries in the local area. Neither came anywhere close to this. Walk in and it’s a huge open kitchen which gives you great confidence. Proud of their work and friendly welcome. Everything was utterly perfect. Better than our favourite curry in London. 10/10. Superb.

Thali was lovely as always. Despite being very busy the wait was fairly short. Some local places were quoting 2 hours for delivery and an hour for collection.

The best Indian food in the south

Incredible quality. I have been ordering here for over 15 years and it is by far the best curry takeaway in Lymington. The food is always tasty and consistent. Great value with generous portions. The staff are very friendly and it is a pleasure to visit and collect. Well done team.

Ordered a chicken bhuna and a king prawn madras. King prawns were royally hot n' spicy, just the way it should be. Seshwari naan was on point, nice coconut flakes, really hit the spot. Pilau rice - not much to say about that, can't really get that wrong if you tried. Chicken Bhuna was delightfulm big hefty chonky slabs of chicken breast sitting in a welcoming sauce. Friendly staff who popped in a few poppadoms too for good measure. Would highly recommend them!

Easily the best tasting Indian takeaway I’ve ever been to.

Tried a few different curries from this place and unfortunately they all taste very much the same. Buttery and sweet. Needs a bit more authentic flavour!

Ive never been disappointed by the takeaways I have received from forest tandoori. The flavours are excellent and so is the quality of meat. This is doubled up with their enormous portions well worth trying out! My only criticism is that they don’t offer delivery but this has never put me off the short drive to collect

Absolutely delicious! Phoned through our order and waited outside to collect, called in one person at a time. Easy. Good portions, good price and yummy food. Drive from Milford as best Indian takeaway around. Can’t fault it!

Having decided to stay in for New Year we wanted the best Indian Take Away . Unfortunately that involved a 2 hour round trip to Forest Tandoori . All I can say is that it was well worth it and we finished off left overs for breakfast on New Years Day . Excellent !!!!

Absolutely top notch tandoori. Ordered the chicken jal, chicken dhansak and onion bhajis for collection - food was ready in twenty minutes and was some of the tastiest curry we've ever had. Reasonably well priced, great portions (i.e. huge) and just incredibly tasty.

Whenever our Indian Food expert (lecturer and chef) visits we always get an Indian takeaway from these guys. It’s always good. You always get large portions for the money so you get to eat another day as well! Cannot recommend this place enough.

Unfortunately hit and miss!. Occasionally very nice and occasionally very poor! Sadly, as I do love Indian cuisine I will not be playing the lottery there any more!....

A shirt distance on the road out of Lymington going towards Milton, is this great Indian take away. Parking outside and in the road alongside. Very varied menu. The curries we had were great and portions were set to match those with a good appetite. Fantastic value compared to the prices in the Indian restaurants in Lymington high street.

Always a pleasure to look forward to. Watch the guys doing their magic in the open kitchen. Chicken Tikka Dhansak delicious, as are other menu options.

We visit the new forest every year for a family birthday celebration and every year we make sure we visit Forest Tandoori for a meal. From the friendly welcoming service to the delicious food you really can’t go wrong, highly recommended.

Amazing Indian food cooked in an open kitchen. Have had several meals from here and yet to be disappointed. Not the cheapest but the quality makes it worth it

Having lived in Bournemouth and Southampton in previous years, i have tried Indian food from a vast number of takeaways and restaurants, I can honestly say hands down that Forest Tandoori is without a doubt the best and feel privileged to have them on my doorstep. Trouble is I have a job staying away from the place as I live local. Would definitely recommend others to try even if from a far.

Dad's lived across the road for years and it's always my go-to. Never had a bad curry and service is good, you won't be disappointed.
