Ordered a takeaway impressed with speedy delivery and the food was great thank you we will be using your restaurant again

Didn’t get 1 Pashwari naan and missing 2 chicken makani

A family friend told us to try forest Spice again. The portions were generous, and lots of meat in the mains we chose, however the flavour wasn’t there and the meat was dry and tough. The keema was very odd, tasted exactly like it had been made with goat meat.

Ordered a takeaway, food collected and was ok not good but not bad just ok. They put a menu in the bag and was just looking at it later that evening and realised a difference in the price I paid so phoned the restaurant to ask why the difference he said it’s a different website the prices are higher although it was forest spice web site I used and although it was only about £3 different I felt ripped off, he seemed to agree, just kept saying yes yes yes but no apologies. Won’t be using again out of principle!!

The Biryani served here is not at all an authentic indian cuisine, as iam a biryani lover and fortunate to have tasted almost all kinds of biryanis, all over india, as different regions have different style of masala,spices and rice. To much oil, and the chicken doesnt have any flavour of the biryani. Just the smell of spices dominates. Wouldnt try the biryani again for sure, but maybe other signature dishes 👍

The menu is huge, so I order different dish every time I'm there. So far, all of them were delicious. The portions are huge, most of my friends had to take their leftovers home. It's not the most romantic place because the tables are close together. It's great for groups and you can bring your own alcohol.

Food was fantastic & good value for money. Would have been 5 stars but we must have been last on the delivery route as food wasn't very hot. Wouldn't stop us ordering again though 🙂

This was such a shame. This restaurant has always been reliable and delicious. Tonight the chicken and prawns were both terribly over cooked and therefore rubbery. Sauces were also under seasoned. I hope this is just a bad day.

What an outstanding service, polite, on time, food immaculate, best take out i have had!!!! Added to their honesty, delivery man turned up, apparently i had not paid, still gave me the food, based on he trusted me, immediately called restaurant, gave the relevant details to pay... How many businesses operate with those morals and, on that level, you deserve 10 stars, as does your delivery guy!!!

Extremely underwhelming with 0 flavour. I had high hopes and I do not ever write reviews but I've not been to a curry place before and have had to put my own salt into it. The bread was plain,cold and greasy just not worth the money.

Our food was fantastic, full of flavour & spice. Best curry we've had for ages! The only downside was the length of time it was with the delivery driver. It was almost cold by the time it reached us.

I’m not as fond of Indian food as my partner but I have to say my meal was amazing! The onion Bajhi’s were crisp, the birihani & vegetable curry so moreish I wanted to eat the lot but hate that stuffed to the gills feeling so took half back to our holiday let for lunch/ dinner today. The service was great we didn’t have to wait long for our food. We walked to the restaurant so we could have a beer but it’s not licensed , didn’t realise that we planned on getting a taxi back but Evan, a restaurant college, offered to drive us back, now that’s service! 😀 He even gave us his number to call him if we need a ride elsewhere. I’m sure we will eat there again, or maybe get a take out delivery before we go back home.

We went to the place after seeing the reviews. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. Hygiene was ok. Taste was not at all worth the 4.5+ rating. Staff was also ok. Most of the dishes were the readymade curry based. Nothing great about the food

Great food, great staff. But had a party if 18 next to our table and they where very loud so could not hear what our party where saying all through our meal

Gobsmacked at the attitude I received from the delivery driver. Telling me I live too far away and it’s taken him ages to find us and that I should have collected. There is an extra delivery charge of £2 for this and would have happily paid more if it has asked me to. He even questioned why we would chose one so far away and did I understand how far he had driven. Heaven forbid he has to drive on a deliver job. This was my favourite Indian but I’m disgusted on the way I was treated and won’t be using them again for this reason alone.

My king prawn byriani was so flavoursome. I asked them to do a madras veg curry instead of the usual mild one. Made it even better. We also order a garlic chicken that had a little tasty kick without being silly. Nice service. Bring your own as well. Great.

We order chicken tikka pathia as we always do but this time the flavour was not sweet but very sour and acidic- not quite sure why it was so different to the normal but we just ate the rice and sag

We went there with some friends it was a lovely meal but guy who served us had long hair very messy. When you serve food he should have had his hair tied back in a ponytail or something. Food was good but this was very off putting

Had a delivery. Hour late and food was cold. Food was good quality just cold which is a shame.

I ordered a large takeaway for a lunchtime work meeting. Selection of dishes, sides etc. I also asked them to deliver and provide plates/cutlery. Order arrived promptly and was hot and tasty. I have also eaten in the restaurant and would recommend that as well

Food was delicious, we had the Lamb Naga which was very spicy but extremely tasty. Onion bhajis were the perfect level of crunchiness. Service was fantastic and they seemed very happy to see us arrive. They saw that we brought our own drinks and immediately asked us how many beer and wine glasses we needed. The atmosphere was good, it wasn't too overcrowded I felt like there was plenty of space. The naan bread had more keema in it than I've seen at other places which was fantastic, I cant remember the last time I had a keema naan and there was keema in every bite.

My wife and I fancied a curry and thought we would give this place a try for the first time. Menu had so much choice and rather than go for our usual we tried the set menu for two. Really good tasting food and generous portions. Interior is dated but alright 80s vibe as we would remember😊. The also have a takeaway delivery service and seemed busy with that even though we got there when it opened. Worth just looking at the menu to see how comprehensive it is...too much choice.

I only give this rating because the telephone operator has terrible phone skills his un friendly . Obtuse. And unwillingness. Is very off putting and would make you less likely to use again

Scratching my head trying to work out why this place has so many great reviews? I guess the majority of people know absolutely nothing about fine curry and this must be the standard they are used to! The chicken was the chewiest that I had ever come across and looked like it was somebody's left overs... from three nights ago, the rice was clumpy and sticky and the naan bread was burned to a cinder. I have generously given 2 stars because the ceylon sauce definitely resembled a decent ceylon with plenty of coconut, which Is hard to come by these days, the staff were friendly and attentive and it's a bring your own booze affair! I know curry well, I was brought up on it, so do yourselves a favour and go to the Balti House further up the road! Mr Curry.

Always friendly, great flavours and chefs always in clean White uniforms. Portion size is generous and Taj often Looks after his regular customers with a few tasty complementary dishes. No Coriander Chicken Tikka Dansak is my favourite dish . Looking forward to my weekly visit Thankyou Raj

Had the best ever Sally chicken here last night😋

We've had many tasty meals from here, but the last 2 have been very unsatisfactory. The Chicken Tikka Mossalh used to be a vibrant, thick and creamy red dish, that now appears as a watery orange slop. The rice is clumpy and the effort towards customer satisfaction really showed with the 1 crushed poppadom between a family of 4 (each having a main course). Not to mention the 2 hour wait for the delivery and this restaurant has been removed from our favourites 😕

I like spicy food and the takeaway Naga was just right for me. Didn't need the bag of plain sliced onions though... Hot but not too rich, tender meat in thick sauce that wasn't at all greasy or oily. They even offered to bring it outside to me.

No longer goto local Indian. Changed food and staff autumn 2021. Cannot recommend now.

Menu on paper is same as before but the actual food you get doesn't resemble what you got previously. Pity, for years this was our goto Indian restaurant around here.

Service very good. Food arrived promptly. Unfortunately food very bland, ordered chicken tikka balti and chicken Kari, both dishes lacked flavour. Very disappointed. This is my normal go to curry house, however will be reluctant to order from forest spice again.

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered. It arrived an hour and 25 minutes later, the food was cold, we needed to re-heat it. We called and complained, the gentleman was quite rude and disregarding of our complaint. We have eaten at Forrest Spice for many years and have never needed to complain. I am totally disappointed.

I’ve ordered from this restaurant before and the food has been good, but this time it was not pleasant. The food was cold and the chicken was tough. The naan bread was chewy and the rice was clumpy. I also was told that payment was cash only, where the delivery driver had no change and had to return my change later on in the evening. It’s a real shame. I will not be eating at forest spice again.

Nice quality food, reasonably priced, and smart decor. It's on quite a busy road but, luckily, we were able to park very close by. We enjoyed our dinner here.

Great food great service great value definitely coming back

Last week I took 3 friends along that usually eat up the road at the Balti House as closer to the pub ALL 3 said Forest spice food was better quality, largo portions and superb flavour than they are use to up the road , and never had to wait an hour for it as the crammed in busy Balti House with tables so close have so many people in such a confined space and Forest spice has more space between tables so more relaxed atmosphere. Well done Raj and the team

We used to love this place but the last couple of times the delivery has been really late and the food not as good as before. Also missed basics from order like mint sauce with bhajees. Won’t be using them anymore.

As we were on holiday, we were not familiar with local restaurants, so took a chance on ordering for delivery. So glad we did. The chap taking the order was very friendly, the delivery driver charming, and happy to bring to our caravan site! The food was exactly as ordered, hot and very tasty, and generous portions. When we return to Christchurch next time, they will be our first port of call. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant
