Ford Fish Bar in Shropshire

We use this chippy back and forth to Wales never had a bad experience, always friendly staff and reasonable prices would recommend.

Went for portion chips to eat with my sandwiches in the car.Chips worst I have ever taste.Cold MushyRancid taste old oil.

We visited Wales and on the way back looked for somewhere for food on a Sunday evening in August 2024 - this was the only place without a queue. The food was hot. The staff were just about understandable - whatever #Chippies are? Took three goes to understand what was meant. Other staff attentive. The place was a tip - the tables needed cleaning and the litter bins were full to the brim with rubbish from I am not sure from how many days. Cleanliness was like 1 out of 5

Such a shame. The food looked delicious. I had chicken and mushroom pie with chips. My wife had mini fish and chips. Reasonably priced Great service friendly staff. Everything was going great until I got home to eat. The pie was delicious but sadly the chips and my wife’s fish tasted awful The cooking oil must have been way past its best Real shame as the time I previously went there the fish and chips was excellent

I went there with my mother as we were passing… My mum had Cod and chips and the batter was soggy as were the chips 🍟 the fish itself smelled like it was on the cusp of going off! I had battered sausage and chips which were also terrible… Avoid at all costs

No because its a fish and chip shop which closes in late evening in a village which doesn't have any nightlife

Never use again, chips used to be tasty, think they using a cheap potato.pity really as live in the village but my family live chips and these are horrible

Had a roe, fishcake and chips. roe and fishcake were "OK" (not great). Chips were awful. As noted by other reviewers the cooked in oil that tastes bad, are greasy, soggy and clumped together. i picked through them hoping to find a few crisp ones but there were none so they all went in the bin. 2 stars rather than one as they did have a reasonably clean toilet.

Brilliant portions and food was amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were so kind and lovely.

Ordered fish, chips and a fishcake while in the area on holiday. Back at the bungalow, the chips were soggy and stuck together. The cod was a battered mush and the fishcake was like cardboard. Called at the fish bar the following day to complain. No refund was offered, only a free portion of fish and chips. I think not !

Huge price hike since last visit, poor quality fish, chips cooked in odd tasting oil, I would be happy to pay £7.40 for mini fish and chips curry sauce + can of pop, if it was done with a lot more passion

Everything went in bin, old reheated food !!! Had to wait 20 mins to get served this rubbish , what a waist of time and money !!!

Soggy chips, absolutely awful peas, the pie was nice but wasn't warm and the whole lot got drowned in vinegar. All this for £7

Fantastic non greasy chips, and good size portion. Restaurant area was immaculate and staff were very pleasant and constantly cleaning and sanitising. With ample parking spaces i will be stopping more often .

Worst fish ever.. sorry to leave such a damming review but the fish and chips was dire. The fish seemed as if it had been cooked many, many hours before and was so tough and rubbery that it just could not be eaten. Convenient take away / diner but one to avoid.
