Food Republic in Bradford

The lamb and bihari steak is tremendous, not too chewy fills you up nicely. Service is friendly but the place was as hot as a sauna - need to find a way to get fresh air inside.

I just had a food with my family food was lovely but service let them down our food came in three steps. I have still given 4 stars because of tasty food.

Passing by and decided to try the grilled chicken, like many grilled chicken places, the chicken is covered in sauce, here the sauce has a little kick to it, the rice it comes with is probably the right amount to help dampen the heat sensation, To be honest the spice is catered for the asian community so my taste buds probably find it spicy as I not a huge fan of really spicy. The chicken portion is good sized as was the rice, the service was good, quick food churned out, only criticism is the delay in getting the bill, not sure if its a staffing issue but there seemed to be only one person out front, considering its early evening is leaves a bit to be desired for.

I usually go for lunch somewhere quick, thought I’ll try this place out. First impression, very nice place and decor. However the food potion was small, I ordered fish masala on Naan and it only came with 4 small pieces, disappointed given that I was charged £5.50.

Amazing service, the waiters were extremely friendly, also brought out great quality food for us so that we could enjoy our experience. Xx

I have been here before and tried the chicken steak and i loved it. Thought i would try the steak combo platter which included chicken steak and lamb steak. And omg the lamb steak was absolutely amazing! 5/5. Definately recommend this place. And the customer service was one of the best i have experienced in a long time. Staff are very friendly and attentive!

Travelled all the way from Manchester to Food Republic, the Food is always beautiful and made to order. Everyone was intentive and especially Yusuf he was very charismatic and demonstrated great hospitality skills. Mashallah.

SO GLAD I WAS INTRODUCED TO THIS PLACE!!!! I never thought id be writing a review but am compelled too. 1st time i went i thought hmmm nice & cosy. Probably be lucky if the foods edible! Food arrived...fantastic! Waiters are all really welcoming & attentive without constantly being in your space. Some places ive been leave you feeling as if you have to eat quickly & go. Not here! You never get that feeling. Nothing is too much trouble. They really are a lovely bunch who make you feel like family. Ive recommended the place to everyone i know; and i dont do that lightly! Only thing id wish they d do is mocktails - & ive asked them to consider it...fingers crossed!! Forget the big boy restaurants with their processed food & clear the tables attitude...Food Republic's the place you want. Its a revolution that should have taken off LONG BEFORE - SO GLAD I WAS INTRODUCED TO THIS PLACE!!!!

As always Food republic was a good call for a family meal out- big thanks to yusuf who went above and beyond to take care of us. Loved the steamed fish meal and the chicken burger was great as always. Will definitely be back again soon!

I've been to many Curry houses when working away from home. This place is right up there with the best and I even go out of my way to have a curry here. Friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Try the Chicken Balti it is unbelievable my kids love it!

After some time away from visiting Food Republic, we went this evening and it delivered the quality we felt it had missed until tonight.

We have been here a few times but easy to forget cash only rule as this is the only place that only accepts cash!

i live in Newcastle and my friend took me to foodrepublic , the food was delicious i had a mix grill which i highly recommend also great value for money . The customer service was on point the staff are very welcoming and polite , the atmosphere was lovely definitely paying another visit .

One of my friends said let's go to this place off a list of places to eat in Bradford none of us had really heard of this place. From walking in the atmosphere looked welcoming and the waiters were helpful and advised us on how we went about ordering. We ordered our steaks and the food was actually really nice and tasty. The chips don't look that appealing but they're not that bad but the steak was saucy and cooked well so I'd give a high rating

Quite disappointed with this restaurant today. I love having my meal there and me and family often go to eat steak meal.

I took my children and the wife out for an evening meal, ordered grilled beef burgers which were still raw and half cooked, doughballs were very hard out of the oven and literally hard to bite, i did make a quiet complain to a member of staff who just didnt care and said, we cook everything ourselves and thats how it comes!!!

The owner Fawad clearly had a passion for food and there is a distinctly different atmosphere when he is around, although even when he isn't I have always found staff to be friendly and accommodating, such as on my most recent visit. The quality of food is excellent and clearly prepared with care. The fish and chips are very tasty and the quality has been maintained over time, which is not usually the case

Como estábamos cerca de Travelodge, decidimos probar este lugar en lugar de Akbars. No nos decepcionó. Pedimos unos hamburguesas, y tengo que decir que las mejores hamburguesas de Bradford, no es el tipo tradicional pakistaní me recordó de las articulaciones comida. Los precios y los servicios de atención al cliente eran buenas, sin embargo decepcionó que encontré en casi cada lugar fuimos a comer fuera en Bradford fue que no dan condimentos libremente (extraño? ? Incluso cuando pedimos), lo que hace que la comida, un poco seco. Sin embargo, este es un gran lugar para comer y no te decepcionará en la comida!

I love the "food republic special kebab " - a seekh kebab cooked in nan. Food is tasty here and worth the wait of cooking on a slow grill.Also , the grilled haddock with spicy rice is worth a mention. Limited parking outside .Staff are very courteous

Went here today for thee first time with a couple mates, the food was brilliant. The chicken burger I got was particularly very nice. The chips are also them fish and chip chips so it was quite nice of a meal. Nice restaurant, highly recommend it and will be back in the future

Have visited Bradford three times and each time we have been to Food Republic for dinner. Nice food, with lots of flavour. Service can be a bit patchy but the staff are pleasant.

Food was well cocked and presented nicely but asked to choose my seating but was refused even with the place empty then another group of girls where allowed to choose.

Fresh off the grill steaks and chops and mouthwatering curries. Perfect every time. The prices are very low compared to other places and great customer services too.

Visited with wife and five children and were looked after very well by the excellent staff. Food arrived 15 minutes from order with some lovely nachos brought to us after a few minutes. The lovely waiter looked after us very well making sure we were enjoying our food. We ordered Burgers for the kids with wedges and the Fish dish for us served with mash, lovely rice, roasted veg baby tomatoes etc. Wedges were served in lovely small bucket type tins. When the kids are enjoying the food they usually go quiet which they certainly did for a good 5-6 minutes eating till they were full. I liked the fact the staff were constantly cleaning and spraying the toilets which I have to say were very clean indeed unlike many other Bradford restaurants which are just foul. Also what hugely impressed me was the fantastic prayer area which was unlike any other I've seen anywhere! Mood lighting and fabulous decor which was so relaxing and refreshing. Will definitely visit again very soon.

Came to food republic a few days ago, service was good , chips were undercooked but rest of the food was lovely, nice atmosphere.

I used to visit Food republic quite often as I was a fan of the Lamb steak and Grilled chicken burger but I was very disappointed with my visit last week I went 8pm on a Saturday with my husband we were seated straight away was very cold and the atmosphere wasn't very pleasant.We had to call the waiter to order drinks my husband got a chocolate milkshake which is priced something silly as over £4.00 which I wouldn't mind paying if the size of the glass was somewhat acceptable but this was literally a small tumbler we were told the pricing is due to the amount of chocolates that go into the milkshake ok then.I then ordered a gourmet beef burger which I expected in a soft gourmet bun but nope the bun was hard the burger itself was raw told the waiter no apology and was told that's the way it gets made well not a couple of months ago it wasn't as it was lovely!Husband got a chicken burger dry limpy salad and hard bun yet again Got to the till to pay no one asked how our meal was just got told they only accept cash not even with a smile Not pleased with the level of professionalism in this establishment shame really as it does look like a nice place to eat

Went on a social visit. Food was average but good place to visit if you don't want to be stuck in long queues in other restaurants. Good quick service.

Let me say this place is awesome for grill stuff.last Sunday we went in evening it was fully packed but we got food in time....service is good and also the chef Harri , he has a time to listen to me and prepared our food like we want....thanks food republic

This is the second time this month IVe been to food Republic the first was with a large party lots of hyper under 7 year olds and I must say the staff were very patient with us very friendly and the food was spot on! I said I'd go back again and I did lol the second time was with my husband and kids we Orderd a lamb steak kids fish finger meal and 2 burger meals we all enjoyed our meals and service was spot on again

Started off good, however service from staff was very ignorant and rude they mixed up are chips and wouldn't rectify it by providing fries and said we have to pay as it show on the menu. Food was mediocre at best. Not recommended.

I went with my wife to food republic. we got a lamb steak this was spot on. The service was good a meal definetly worth having and price is decent too.

Me and friends thought we would try this place. Everything seemed ok with the food arriving in good time. Eaten some of my meal when I discovered a hmc sticker on the chicken I had cut to eat... Told the staff whom kindly told me they would "discount a can of free pop". Considering I ordered a £20 share platter, I didn't think this was reasonable amount of consideration... Almost insulting

Me my wife and my mother enjoyed our meal on mothers day. The food was great freshly made and cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and polite towards us. The owner sorry dont his name is a very polite and a gentleman he always chats to us and makes us feel welcome in the restaurant. We will definitely return

I went with some friends and i must say the service was impecible. A waitress named Sana was brilliant and she really made me and my friends feel really really welcome. The food came out in decent time we had nachos as a starter and that came in decent time as me and my friends were really hungary. We were nearly at the end of our nachos serving when Sana asked us if we wanted our food. It was really busy but evenso within minutes the food reached our table. Hot and appetising. It was smashing. The atmosphere was so good liked the different types of music. Not just the typical new tunes that are everywhere they also had some older songs that bought back some good memories.The food was epic MASSIVE EYE POPPING servings honestly my eyes were bigger than my tummy. I really enjoyed the chicken steak burger. My sister however devoured her beef burger she had finished hers before i was near half on mine. I was so wanting a dessert but was so full. Sana Then asked if i wanted to take it with me. So i got the peanut butter stack and was really impressed with her service. Honestly 5 stars isnt enough if i could rate out of 10 itd deffo be a 10. Good work guys at food republic.

Really nice food, friendly staff and always served very quickly. I think this place is underrated. It may not look like much but actually serves great food and large portions.

I'm not really a big fan of restaurants with jazzy names, because usually the food doesn't live up to the names expectations but on this occasion I was recommended Food Republic by a foodie friend of mine to try out, so that's exactly what I did...!!We turned up on a Monday evening and yes it was quiet (as expected), in fact only one table of five were dining before us at 7.30pm.....we were warmly greeted (on a cold night) by Usama and shown to our table by the window.....Menus were promptly brought over to us and after a careful read the order was placed ranging from a mixed grill starter to share, Lamb Karahi with nan and roti, two house chicken burgers and fries and the house signature specialty Lamb Steak, oh and some nachos too...!!The food was served to us about 20 minutes later all together, the mix grill starter was exceptionally tasty and fresh, the Lamb Karahi was more or less as I expected, good but with the same default taste of most Asian restaurants in Bradford (it would have been nice to have been served a complimentary side salad with the dish)....the chicken burgers were very generous in size and portion and very good in taste, impressive quality.....now to the Lamb Steak, well it came on large plate with a steak knife (good to see, although no mustard was offered..?!) the accompaniments were mash potato, house cut fries, corn on the cob, array of vegetables and a small pot of gravy......the Lamb Steak itself was a very generous portion and yes it was excellent, succulent and delicious, in fact one of the best I've had and that coming from an Asian restaurant...!! Yep highly recommended...!!The highly efficient young waiter Hamza offered us deserts but we skipped desert as we were really full......the bill total wasn't wallet breaking!!Food Republic is an unusual name for a restaurant I must say having dined the globe over, but nothing was unusual about the food, in fact it was simply delicious....!!! Visited with family,ordered a variety of food. The burgers were made from fresh mince. The chicken steak and biriani were generous portions, all very fresh and tasteful. The staff were very attentive, atmosphere and decor was great. Overall a excellent service with good food, very positive experience.

I love their lamb stakes. The food is excellent here, the decor ,atmosphere and service friendly . I would recommend trying a meal here. Every tuesday I have a lunch there ....every thing right on top from chef till waiter both are really helpful i making my visit special....HATTS OFF

Visited after the movies and the food as always is good quality, tasty and generous portions. The steak is always a winner but the biryani and burgers are also good. Service is slow but I think that may be because the food is fresh.

The staff were very helpful. The prices are reasonable and the quality of food is good. There are varied options on the menu from gourmet burgers to curries. So it caters for many. The decor and layout is modern. It was a good experience and a place i would visit again.

I have been here several times always with family and on each return their service just gets better. You can tell they really appreciate your custom and go above and beyond to keep you happy. The steak is fantastic and kids meals are excellent value too. Can't recommend them enough.

Me and my partner choose Food Republic when we are wanting something quick, cheap and satisfying to eat. And it is all of them things. Fast service, appealing and warm environment. Can see most of the food fresh. Good menu with an array of foods from authentic curries, spiced chicken/lamb to fish and chips. Me and my other half ordered drinks, starters, main and dessert all for under £20 which is fantastic especially for the quality of food, which has always been spot on. Never had a problem. Will continue to visit this place and I recommend anyone else to give this place a go.

Why is it that so many restaurants let themselves down with some of the most stupid but so annoying and avoidable things?I have been around a half a dozen times since last November. It would have been far far more but for one thing which to me says they don't give a monkey about customers. Their coffee machine has been out of order since before we visited last November, still not been repaired. That is lousy management. Either sort the machine and give coffee or take out of the menu. I have now stopped going and will not go back again.Shame really add the food is usually very nice apart from the last time when the chicken want cooked properly. They were very good about it and cooked another portion for us without delay and apologised.Sad that despite all the good food I remember the negative as for me a coffee finished nice meal and every time at Food Republic I have left without having enjoyed the meal.

Been here a number of times as the food is very cheap n service is great..there is a variety of food n it can b catered to be made to ur taste..I always perfer less chillies n the restaurnat caters to that..seating area needs improving but its a small factor .. Would reccomend for family events as cost would be kept low...I always get offeredthe first time I visited Shipley aagrah I knew it would become one of my favourite places to go to..recently I visited with work colleagues n the service I received was beyond outstanding..we arrived late for the afternoon buffet but they still kept it open to us n kept filling the food up..the staff were polite n helpful. I enjoy gulab jaman n ice cream which isn't on the afternoon buffet but the staff were quick to accommodate my choice.. Friendly attentive staff n awesum atmosphere..would reccomend for friends n family events.. Desi tea or coffee on the house at each visit by the owner..friendly atmosphere

The staff here are absolutely fantastic. They are very friendly and approach the customers. They are very attentive and accommodating to customer demands. I ordered the cheeseburger. It was lovely. It came with chip shop chips rather than fried which made a refreshing change. Portion sizes are very generous. They have a very wide selection of food and the deserts looked tempting but we were too stuffed to order any! The staff looked after us throughout our meal and were asking for feedback. Good value for money also. Will definitely be going again!

This is a restaurant I visit at least once a week. It is like dining with family. Staff are friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. Service is quick and great value for money. A hidden gem in Bradford

We came into Bradford and ate at Food Republic on the Leeds Road. we ordered lamb chops and tikka boti which were delicious and cooked fresh. I then had grilled chicken with rice which was juicy and full of flavour and my partner went for a lamb steak meal which was cooked well and came with proper english mash potato. service was excellent and food turnaround was impressive. best thing though was the value for money which makes Bradford such a magnet.nice layout and ambience. Will def visit again.

Service was awful, waited 45 minutes for the food and the order was still wrong. Took another 15 mins to sort out and then another 15 mins to sort the rice that was missing. Because of the delays food was cold and dry. Had to ask for sauces, cutlery and napkins. 2 waiters running round like headless chickens. Took 15 mins to get a replacement bottle of water. The night before we went to mylahore and the food was cheaper, far better quality and service was great.

I had chicken curry and fish for starter. The food was good but nothing special. I think it was average in terms of flavour and price. The seating was modern and lovely.

I visited this place with a group of friends all the way from sheffield to try out. But im afraid it was a waste of time in one sense. Food was ok nothing special, the only thing with the food that i was dissapointed by was the strength. We ordered the food to be xtra xtra hot but sadly it was only medium strength. Before i rebuke the mentioned ...the brand itself works well.. contemporary in style and a far cry form the usual fast food hangouts in Bradford . however shackle me in chains if food offering are anything to go buy .. I frankly didn't give a brown M & M about the design layout .after waiting almost 25 minutes for our food order. The anticipation of Lamb chops ordered and massala fish was taking its toll on my two young boys.. Ignored thru out our wait.. my child did what all children do.. run around the restaurant exercising free will.. it's my sons choice to take the necessitated option.. well it was hardly busy.Adam took full advantage, as only another table was occupied by someone who resembled the Fat Controller who was gripping a whole chicken unlike his wife/ partner who assuming had never being able to wholly grip him ..moving on .so the food arrived eventually . accompanied by rice and salad .., uncle benn has been pre occupied with some other sauce ..(me thinks ) .as the rice was stogy and pale .I looked around thinking a waiter might acknowledge us and explain / justify or possibly Prostration before us ...about the foods lack of inspiration ... I eventually caught the waiters attention ...without sounding judgmental he looked like a dude who keys peoples car !!i asked why the lamb was overcooked, and how I could not keep silent about the lambs.. not sure he shared my sarcasm... and why the fish was not smothered in any type of massala as claimed.... although we agreed the fish was dead and probably had seen better days in the Ebola river .. he proclaimed in a heavily northern Bradford patwa ... ''bruder its meant to be dis way '' you get me ....'' we barely ate the meat when my twitter app updated me on the Ebola virus out break...after feeling my stomach making a noise i never heard, we left urgently with the thought this is just another banana republic .A Cautionary Tale. Wash yourself thoroughly after reading this one, though that may not suffice. A colonic might be more appropriate.
