What a disappointment again. Two coffees, an undercooked brownie and a stale scone costs £16…….overpriced and very poorly delivered. It is such a shame that this place cannot step up and deliver good produce. Whilst I am sure as a “bakery”, the items are produced on site, but I am pretty certain that they are not made from raw ingredients, rather baked from bought in commercial packs!

Went for breakfast with some friends, the waits were very long and what I got served I wouldn’t even serve myself at home. I ordered poached eggs on toast which cost £6.85 and additional avocado which somehow cost another £2.40!? What came out was two pieces of bread as thick as a brick, smeared with avocado like it had been blended up and was butter, with two overcooked poached eggs on one of the pieces of bread. I wish I took a picture because I hardly believed it had just cost me the best part of £10, it looked like a child had made it, in fact I think a child would’ve done better. Coffee was ok. Service was terrible. Won’t be going back.

We arrived Sunday 11th of February for brunch, sat at the window table which needed clearing of dirty plates. Waited for 10 mins then had to ask to have the table cleared. During this time 3 staff behind the counter 1 making drinks the other 2 doing nothing. We waited another 5 mins for our order to be taken after the table was cleared but not cleaned, still no one came over and still 2 staff not doing anything. Decided to vote with our feet and leave. Such a shame to witness such a lack of basic customer service.

Have been about 3 times in the hope that things might improve but the last visit was quite mediocre. We called in for breakfast and I had a bagel with eggs. The bagel was so tough and chewy as tho it had been over microwaved. My husband had pancakes which were tasteless and rubbery and T resembled a low quality supermarket brand. Overpriced and disappointing.

We popped in today for a light bite & a coffee and it was very nice. A welcoming place with friendly staff members and a good choice of food. Will definitely be returning!

My Husband booked a table for breakfast as a celebratory start to my special birthday. This was especially poignant as it was the first venture out after major surgery. On arrival I was so disappointed that the staff had failed to reserve our table, despite a note of the booking being visible on the shelf. We had no choice but to leave feeling utterly disappointed. This has totally ruined the mood and spoilt effort my Husband went to, to make my birthday special. Getting up and about early was a challenge for me and all for nothing. I will never recommend or give my business to this place in the future. My advice is don’t bother !

Massively disappointing and over overpriced. Food was like cardboard, staff were stood on their phones at the till while tables needed clearing and other customers were complaining about the poor service. When our food came the chef brought it out and asked ‘this for you 2 yeah?’ Also wasn’t very clean, coffee machine needed cleaning everything was messy and staff were almost gormless took about 10 minutes for her to actually put my order through the till. Coffee was average. The cafe itself might as well be in the back of a van. Wouldn’t recommend and will not be going again

Was busy when we first walked in and we waited to see if we had to be seated. Staff passed us on numerous occasions and didn’t even acknowledge us. Eventually I managed to ask a staff member and she just said just grab a seat if you can find one and we will come to you. We then literally sat for 20 minutes and not one member of staff looked at us let alone came to take our order. We only wanted coffee and cake! We got so sick of waiting we just walked out. Places like this need to remember that you may serve the best food in the area, but if you treat customers appallingly, they won’t be back. We most certainly won’t be and will warn others to avoid!

Really gone down hill! Waited 40 minutes for poached egg and avocado on toast, to then be given it in a takeaway box…! Eggs were so over cooked, avocado old and grey, bread was far too thick. Really poor.

I have popped into to flour and co a handful of times and each time the staff have been disinterested and or rude and this occasion was no exception. For a cafe a thought there was a very limited amount of coffee flavours/variations available. As my first choice of chai latte wasn’t available I opted for a hot chocolate. After a few minutes I was told there there was no whipped cream, so I again changed and asked for the spiced pumpkin latte. I opted to take out so it wasn’t until I was on my journey that I realised they had either forgotten to add the syrup or it indeed had 0 flavour. My friend had ordered the same but with different milk and she too was unable to taste this. My friend had also chosen the chicken ceaser salad, after another few minutes of waiting we were then informed that there was no chicken so she ended up leaving with no food. I had a blue cheese sausage roll which as a sausage roll on its own was nice but there was absolutely 0 flavour of blue cheese. Unfortunately this was disappointing from start to finish and for the quality of food and drink, I would say that this cafe is overpriced.

Popped in here on whilst travelling through the village. A decent enough place with the usual grey and wood decor, and ample comfortable seating. It was a little cold when I went and I don't know if this was because the door was open (it wasn't a hot day). Whilst eating I was plagued by several flies, so obviously the door open policy has a couple of downsides. Coffee and cake were delicious. However, there is definitely something missing from the ambience of the place. The staff were polite but didn't smile or engage in any conversation with me. I felt like I was surplus to requirements, which is not a great feeling when you're the paying customer. I thought it may have been me but I watched as others were treated exactly the same. It wasn't busy when I went but the place felt dead and soulless. I left feeling nourished food wise by deflated spirit wise. As nice as the food was, I would visit again. I find it sad in this current economic climate, when a little more input from staff would have made all the difference to my being a returning customer, putting money into the business.

We were very happy to discover this cafe. The lovely bread made on the premises tasted great. We enjoyed a sausage sandwich and the poached eggs. We would have tried the cakes if we hadn't been eating out in the evening.

I stop off at the bakery for my morning pastry, wasn’t too keen on the coffee before. But heard they changed their blend and all I can say is, it’s the best coffee I’ve had in a long while - keep up the good work

Disappointing visit to Flour and Co I ordered a pot of tea and ham sandwich costing just shy of £10 A tray of brownies and a full Bakewell tart were uncovered on top of the glass display counter. I observed a customer placing an order spluttering all over them. This immediately turned my stomach, so much so I asked for my order to be changed to a take a way and pointed out to a member of staff behind the counter what I had seen and that the practice of open food displayed contravenes the food safety act for this very reason. I was met with a CBA unprofessional reaction. On opening my lunch box I had a sandwich with non of the sides offered on the menu. Prior to posting this I have contacted the owners to allow them to rectify I was told these practices won’t happen again and eat in or take out is charged at the same rate and we don’t add the sides I won’t be visiting again and have noticed on trip advisor other negative concerns.

Called in to have a breakfast and was impressed with the choices on the menu. Decide not to opt for the Eggs Benedict as they can often be pretty poor if not done well. Ordered a small breakfast and a tea. The quantities were ok but everything lacked flavour and seemed to be using cheap ingredients. Sausage seemed overcooked, the beans were swimming in sauce and the tomato very bland. Add to that a cheap version of brown sauce and tasteless tea made the whole thing disappointing. Not cheap…..

Wow what an absolute disappointment my visit was today! The two unprofessional, unfriendly and rude girls serving the customers need to be sacked. I have never known such bad service! I ordered a jacket potato and it was totally raw - freezing cold, it hadn’t been cooked!! No apology or anything! This place is an absolute shambles and I would never ever return or recommend!!

The Shrewsbury Arms is one of those traditional pubs with lots of nooks, crannies and little snugs. Add a roaring, real fire and it is cosiness at its best. There were the ubiquitous tellies on the walls for sport but, in much more traditional vein, there was also a large selection of board games for those of that persuasion. We were happy enough just to enjoy our beers by the fire, which felt particularly luxurious on such a freezing cold evening. Service was nice and this is a really good pub.

Not eaten here for a while. However, we decided to give it a go. Two lattes and shared a fish n chips. Absolutely superb, crispy batter, moist fish and crunchy fat chips. The coffees were piping hot. Excellent food and good value. Staff friendly and obviously take pride in their work. Positive changes here 👍
