I had a birthday party here and it was a great spot. A good selection of wines and cocktails and there were some very nice small plates for sharing. Staff were very accommodating and I would definitely return.

Visited this venue for Cocktails a couple of weeks ago to finish what was a fantastic evening prior to entering this place. Although my partners Cocktail was apparently very good , my cocktail ( and I can't remember the name of it , that's how memorable it was !) was a glass of ice , literally 3 sips of virtually any alcohol and it was gone. I bought this to the attention of the waiter who became very irritated, very quickly and told me I should have told him before I had finished the drink...what drink ?!?!? 3 sips worth ? Waiters attitude was appalling for this reason I would never go there again!ifrinas

We had a great time here. The food was good and the band and dancing were great. There is a mixed crowd all of all ages which makes for a great atmosphere and altogether a very enjoyable night out. It was crazy busy and so we were worried when we arrived that service would be poor and slow etc but it was fantastic. Our waitress was a girl called Brigita and she was without doubt the best waitress I have come across in a long time. She looked after us all night and helped make the evening extremely enjoyable. If you are looking for somewhere to eat and then to stay and dance rather than traipse all over from place to place then this is the place. It is not a 5 star review as I think it is maybe a touch expensive and the food is good but not great. But If I could give half stars I would maybe push it to a 4.5 star review for the overall evening.Message to restaurant owner - promote the lovely Brigita she is fantastic.

A group of 4 of us recently visited Floridita for dinner. We booked the 3 course set meal for £29 per person (£3 per person added for entertainment fees on the bill). The food was brilliant, each course had a choice of 3 items, so everyone could find something they liked. The 3 course meal is limited until 7pm, and if you do book this you do have to be out of your table by 9pm, but you are welcome to stay and enjoy the music and dancing. The picture I have attached is of my starter (so you can get a feel for the quality - which is not compromised by having the set meal!). We all really enjoyed out night and did a little dancing to the live music after the meal. Only let down was that there is no where to sit after the meal, so we didn't stay as long as we would have liked in the evening (there are around 6 tables but all were full). Service was also great!

The live music is great but food is a bit of a letdown. Set menu doesn't provide a lot of option and there are very few truly Latin dishes. The dance floor is a bit too small and you have tweeze past the crowded bar area to get to it. Nice venue but could be better for the price.

I wanted to take my wife somewhere different for her birthday, somewhere with a great atmosphere and food. We got that, it was somewhere different, the food was good and the cuban music and atmosphere great. It was a little loud if you're coming here for the food and atmosphere - it is definitely a music venue with a restaurant rather than than a restaurant with background music - so bear that in mind. The menu was varied and a good choice. It was all nicely presented and delicious.Service was efficient but a bit mass-market, unfriendly and brusque. And when making the booking, before the day and arriving at the restaurant they were unnecessarily brusque about the "dining rules" - that we had to leave within 2 hours.I don't mind restaurants that have these kind of "rules" however it is really down to them to provide decent service rather than shoving "the rules" down your throat at every opportunity which is what it felt like. That did somewhat detract from what was otherwise a delightful and entertaining meal.

Dinner & Salsa dancing, a must. Free entry if your dinning. Whilst eating there was a band singing some traditional music. Then later another band comes on, well that's when all the dancing starts. No room on the dance floor. So much fun.

This was my second visit and just as enjoyable as the first. The restaurant is quite classy and very lively. Table service was excellent but our meal was just ok. I really like the fact that it's a fine dining restaurant, bar and live music venue all in one. There was live latin entertainment on both of our visits, which was very enjoyable. Professional and amateur salsa dancers take to the floor and it's fun to watch or even get involved. Meals are very reasonably priced considering that live entertainment is included.

This place is quite overpriced for the standard of food served. Its pretty pricey too. Given all this I thought it was a little cheeky to then add a £3 charge per person for the live music (which played for barely an hour while we were there). I'd go back for a drink at the bar but not for the food.

Visited post theatre at 18:30 on a Saturday. Started to fill up after 7:00 and developed a real buzz once the band came on stage. Very enjoyable food and drinks with friendly and attentive service, especially from Brigita. We reserved a table for 9.15pm and had to wait some time until our table became free by which time we were very hungry and had been standing at the bar for some time. Several of the menu choices(lobster Thermidor, rib eye steak and sea bass were unavailable) which was a little disappointing. However, the service was good and there was plenty of bread.Other observations, not necessarily criticisms - the dance floor spills out into the tables around the dancefloor, it is quite dark and noisy so difficult to hold a conversation, the toilets were a little unkempt with water (?) on the floor, despite there being a member of staff in there filling up the soap dispensers. But the atmosphere is great and th e live music good.

I have been to this restaurant on at least four occasions and have enjoyed my evenings there, despite some patchy service and an occasional food lapse. However I have not been for a couple of years and I have a significant birthday looming, so I checked out the recent reviews. They seem to be quite a mix and the less good ones had the same valid points about the terrible service and the food etc. At the end of some of these less good reviews, I noticed the following response by the manager:Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you wish to visit the restaurant in the future and I will make sure that we live up to your expectations. Many thanks again for your time in passing on your feedback.Kind Regards,Colin Fitzgerald.General Manager"He sounds genuinely interested in making sure people have a good experience", I thought - so I decided to try to contact him directly to ask some questions in order to make sure the restaurant could provide what I needed. For anyone wishing to take him up on his offer to be contacted directly, I need to warn you that this is a near-impossible task. He seems to be guarded by an office of staff trained by Fort Knox. My first phone call was with a truly unfriendly (bordering on rude) and defensive lady - could I speak to Mr Fitzgerald please? No, he's not here, came the blunt reply. When might I be able to get hold of him, I questioned politely. "I don't know" came the response. I decided to try several hours later, hoping to encounter a different and more helpful person. Phone call no. 2 was with the same lady. No he wasn't there, she didn't know when he'd be in (it was now 3pm), so I left my name and number and asked if he would kindly call me at a convenient moment that day or evening. No luck. I tried again twenty-four hours later. My last phone call was yesterday morning with someone else, who was slightly more friendly but not much more helpful - I was asked why I wanted to speak with him and told bluntly that they had a reservations team if I wanted to make a booking. I explained I wished to speak to him and left my number once more, asking if he would please call. Two days later, I'm still waiting for him to contact me. In fact, even if he does now do me the courtesy of returning any one of the calls I've made, sadly I'll be taking my special celebrations elsewhere. Pity, as it could have been fun, but the process has been so off-putting and I'd rather go somewhere where I'm made to feel like a valued customer instead of a complete nuisance. Of course, it's possible he never got all my messages - in which case, a review of his team may be a good idea. If he did get my messages, then his attitude tells me all I need to know.

Drinks flowed all evening and the food was pretty good with a few positive comments from our friends, many of whom enjoy fine dining. Speeches were definitely off the agenda, no bad thing as everyone was on the dance floor.A salsa dance is a great solution to moving the parts that don't move so well anymore! i spent my birthday at floridita. The starters weren't great but the main meal was delicious!! while eating the music is a great tempo. If your in to salsa you may want to get up and dance in between courses i preferred to watch! After dinner we went over to the bar and hired the private room as the bar area gets very crowded. There was a mixed friendly bunch of people in and around the bar area. My only fault was drinks were quite pricey but that counts for everywhere ive been to in london! The decor of the restaurant is nice and walking in we got the latin vide we were looking for. The greeting staff was pleasant and helpful. However, the staff was visibly overworked(management needs to hire more people) and they took a long to serve us - at some point we where forgotten. We were given with a different menu than the one that was advertised on their website, when asked for the set menu options the gave us a different menu with different prices than the ones online and refused to give us the 2 course option that was also advertised online. This is terrible management and not the waiters fault, as there is no excuse for outdated online presence. Misguiding customers expectations when it comes to variety of food and prices is a definite no no. The food was at best mediocre as a lot of us didn't even bother to finish some of our dishes, and for that price I expected a lot more. Seriously the prices were off the chart, and my dish was half under cooked and half over cooked, I don't know how that is even possible. One of the reasons we went there was the live music to dance. However a) The place was so ridiculously overcrowded you could barely breathe, so we had to forget all about dancing b) The band took longer breaks than their actual performance slots, so half the time we were listening to a CD c) The band repertoire had no flow and the dance floor was filled with people that were just standing there (which in the latin dancing community is just bad manners - if you are not dancing get off the dance floor)d) We got charged extra for the music which was a first for us for a latin even.Moving to the bill issues, the waiter added the music charge on the food bill, therefore we had to pay a service charge for the music fee. After the bill was wrong and we returned it back, the manager noticed that the waiter had charged the music as part of the meal and he shouldn't as the system automatically adds it at the end, which made us feel that was a poor attempt for a bigger tip. Overall, we left a tad hungry, without dancing at all, a lot earlier than we originally planned as we weren't enjoying ourselves and the night costed us a lot more than planned. Value over money it wasn't worth it.

I visited recently for a friend's birthday and was immediately impressed with the atmosphere. There is a stage area and there was a band playing some Latin music. It was already very lively at 8pm.We were about an hour early for our table so said we'd wait at the bar and have a couple of drinks. We were served really quickly and enjoyed a cocktail while we waited. Around half an hour later, we thought we'd check if our table was ready as the bar was getting very busy. We were told it wasn't and that we should wait until 9pm (our actual booking time). Not a problem. We ordered another drink. Looking at the restaurant area from where we stood, we could see a few empty tables that seemed to be set ready for the next guests and joked that one of those was probably ours.At 8:55 we went over to ask to be seated and were told, quite rudely, that it was not 9pm and we should wait. So we did. At 9pm, we were taken to our table. It just so happened to be one of the table we'd joked about earlier that had been available since we'd arrived at 8pm.Clearly we were early and it was a long shot asking for our table before our booking time. But surely it would have been logical to seat us 30 mins early seeing as the table was free. This would free up space in the bar area for other paying guests and have left us with a good impression. We would have even understood if we weren't able to order food right away if the kitchen was busy. The food was lovely and the service was very good. The music was excellent and it added a fantastic atmosphere to the place. People got up and danced and we had a great table over looking the dance floor. The music, however, is extremely loud. So loud in fact that I could not speak with anyone except those immediately next to me. The music was fab and I wouldnt have wanted it to be taken away, but it was more of a club volume than a restaurant volume. Perhaps an idea would be to keep it lower before 10pm and the turn it up for the dancing? Just 2 small gripes for me, otherwise it would have been perfect. The volume would put me off coming again as it does defy the object of going for a meal with friends if you can't speak to half of them. I'd be more inclined to go again for drinks rather than a meal.

Really loved the food and the waiter service was the best I have ever encountered. Quick responsive and helpful. The set menu for 3 courses and a mojito is good value, the portions good and the food really tasty and well cooked. The place looks really good and the atmosphere pleasant. Although it was a little loud with the sounds of people chatting bouncing around in the underground area. There are a lot of rules around the reservations though, leaving a credit card with booking, not being more than 10 mins late. Having to have 2 course having to leave the table after 2 hours, ours wasn't even used afterwards. All of these things were quite off putting and I am not sure I would want to go through it again. The dance floor is very tiny and most people can't dance. The bar was very packed and there seemed to be quite a few groups of guys hanging about.Fab food but wouldn't go again.

First up I had an awesome night there for my birthday with a group of friends. Our waiter, Paolo was outstanding and incredibly attentive. The live band were great and the dance floor was filled with skilled salsa dancers who were fun to watch, but still welcoming to novices like ourselves. It's a lot swankier than I was expecting too, and decor is a bit hard to work out - sort of Vogue-Living-does-Cuba meets Liberace?Unfortunately, the night was let down by the events department and the whole booking process. They weren't very helpful, quite pedantic and at times passive aggressive. It was almost as though they felt they were doing me a favour by hosting my birthday drinks. Some things to be weary of if you are thinking about booking a bar package: the money is non-refundable and you must pay at the time that you book, which if you're a large group can be a fair while in advance of the actual date; they are built around groups of 5, so if you're not a group that's easily divisible by 5, you're forced to cough up for an additional package, or pay the normal entry fee for the surplus but then run the risk that the events dept will get narky and threaten that your friends 'might not be able to stand next to the rest of the group' (seriously!), even though it actually suggests you do this on the booking form; and even though you're paying a considerable amount of money, any friends arriving after 9pm will still have to pay an additional £10 entry! Some feedback for management: it would be nice if rather than paying the full sum upfront it was just a deposit, so you still have a bit of flexibility if people get sick/can't make it at the last minute; it would be a lot more straightforward if bar packages were based on a per person fee rather than bundle of 5; and it's a bit cheeky charging an additional cover charge for guests that arrive late!

This club is rated one of the top salsa bars in London. I beg to differ! The live music was amazing, but there is no space to dance. Just a pathetic little strip in front of the band, which was packed full of people! We were made to feel unwelcome by the staff who on three occasions told us to "don't stand there", "move away from there", "you can't dance here". It was a very hostile and unpleasant experience. This place should not promote itself, as a salsa destination when it is clearly not set up for dancing! We'll be going to bar Salsa next time!

This is not a good place to have a sit down dinner. It's too loud to talk to anyone over dinner because the bar/club/restaurant concept means that music is played in the eating area at exactly the same volume as on the dance floor!

I went here for a Christmas dinner with colleagues from work and had a great experience. The day we went the restaurant was completely full but the service was absolutely amazing. The food was served on time, it was well cooked and tasty and the staff were very attentive (despite being constantly harassed by a large group of 20 or so diners sitting next to us). There's a bar on the ground floor and the basement floor. And there's a live band that plays from around 7PM onwards.

So this is a weird one .Have never been to Floridita and when some friends from out of town booked we were intrigued to go.First there ,nice welcome if a bit chaotic go to the bar and order mohito and that ladies and gentlemen was that !It was cold in the basement bar and a waiter said someone had been smoking in the loo and something set the fire alarm off there had been smoke not that it could be seen and the cold was the door left open to get rid of smoke ."Everyone out the building immediately "we were told . And that was that the staff were all outside smoking and smiling that they now had a night off and we the punters were given no explanation and no plan B." Come back in half an hour everything will be fine " we were told by one of the staff so rather than eat elsewhere that's what we did .1 hour later fire engine still there no fire no issue but health and safety gone wrong or management wanting a paid night off and venue officially closed for the night ? what I can tell you is 6 hungry punters then had to scrabble around and find somewhere else at 10.30 pm not ideal but what a shame .will we be back......we shall see

As you walk down the long curved staircase your hear the live Cuban band playing which automatically catches your attention lots of people drinking cocktails dancing eating . My wife and I ate here early on a Saturday as a deal with a theatre booking. As such we had a limited menu, but both found a starter & a main we fancied. The quality of the food was excellent and the waiters were very attentive even though we were on the cheap (two course) deal. The wine prices were on the high side - we managed to find a reasonable bottle for £25, but most were North side of £35. We could have paid extra for a sweet, but at £15 a time gave it a miss.Overall a very good meal prior to seeing Miss Saigon which was also excellent. Would book again through the theatre deal, but a bit expensive for us just as a restaurant. We missed out on the live music which hadn't started by the time we had to leave.

Spent the evening on Saturday with a group of 4 friends. The atmosphere is really relaxed with a mix of ages and the music was fantastic. There is a big selection of cocktails and the bar service is really quick considering how busy it was. The meal was delicious and the Argentinian beef steak was fantastic ! Its quite pricey but the quality of the drinks, food and the overall atmosphere makes the prices worthwhile.

Disappointed as heard good things about this place. Arrived on time as had a reservation but they had no record, even showed them the email confirmation. Sent us to bar to wait with no apology or offer of drink. Managed to squeeze us in far corner, very tight space. Also, very nosiy couldn't even have a conversation. Will not go back in hurry

I came here in December for a girl's night as I had read a lot about it online and liked the idea of practising some Zumba moves to the Salsa music. We decided to book a table as well as we'd heard that you have to pay an entrance fee if you're not eating, so figured we'd rather spend our money on food rather than to just walk through the door. We knew the place wasn't cheap after reading reviews here but we'd seen the 'weekend mojito menu' advertised online so thought we'd be paying £30 for 3 courses and a drink but ended up paying £38 for 3 courses off the a la carte menu as it was the only option available that night apparently. We were disappointed with that but what can you do once you're already there. The food was nice so it helped but I have had just as nice meals for less money. We only had our table booked for two hours and thought we'd have to rush through meals but the service was really well timed (couldn't fault the waiters) so we had enough time to breathe and chat between meals and still had enough time to relax after the meal before having to leave our table at 9. That was when the night really got going as the band and the dancing started. All in all, we had a great night and really enjoyed the music, dancing and atmosphere in the bar, however next time we'll have food elsewhere where you get better value for money, and might just come here for the dancing.

We came on Friday night as a group of about 20 for a work do. We had menu B and the food was great - most people got the steak which looked fantastic and was a very generous portion! We had a few cocktails pre dinner which were also amazing....especially the floritini (hope I've remembered that right?!). The atmosphere is electric - the band were fantastic and there are some amazing dancers in there which was great to watch - and we all had a little go ourselves after dinner. 5 star evening. We've all said that we'll be coming back (maybe after some salsa lessons!). Thanks Floridita! xxxx

Amazing atmosphere and everyone was so happy. such a shame that there was such a silly waiter that tried picking fights and made the stay very unpleasant. Bar staff are very good at the cocktail making and serving quickly just need to learn how to smile and customer service skills. Place is 5* apart from these facts.

We visited on a Thursday evening for a work event. There was around 60 people and we had the semi-private Havana area. I cannot recommend Floridita enough...the staff were amazing. Completely on top of all our little requests and very professional. We had a drinks reception by the bar and the bar staff ensured that the cocktails were made fresh so no-one had a cocktail with mainly melted ice. When we sat down at the table, the waiters made a note of everyone's food orders to ensure that they could serve the correct dishes to the table without having to continually ask who was having what. The food itself was delicious and all came out at good time intervals. The live music was a great touch, and only a couple of people mentioned that the volume was a tad loud when we were by the bar after dinner. Overall though, everyone gave great feedback on the venue and staff so all round a great evening was had! Thanks to everyone involved!

It is with great disappointment that I am writing this review. On Friday evening my boyfriend and I were there for a drink, and the service wasn't exactly delightful. Not at all.The first waiter welcomed us very friendly explaining all the bars within the building and the drinks menu. Then a different waitress took the order. Let's say that her English wasn't perfect, but well, we've all been there. Once the drinks arrived she ask us if we wanted to pay straight away or "open a table" which I deducted it meant to open a tab.I order a Presidente cocktail and my boyfriend a rum crusta. It wasn't till he was midway through the drink that we realized the colour wasn't the expected. How can a cocktail that has a dark rum and sweet vermouth be clear? And clear like a classic daiquiri or a light lime colour. That didn't seem right to us.Then the hostess came asking us to change the table and we said about the cocktail. When the manager came and we expose our concern she started explaining something abouth UK law about quantity of alcohol allowed in a cocktail, that us not the same amount if alcohol if you had a cocktail here or in Italy or Spain, which didn't explain the colour. Then when I said it had sweet vermouth she said the cocktail only had 10ml and if I know how much 10ml were. I didn't like the tone she used to say that because it kind of insults me "you know how much 10ml are ?" Answer is, I do know how much 10ml are, I am a bartender myself but that is not related with my complain.I felt like I couldn't express myself cause she was talking all the time and saying staff about the kind of rum, that it wasn't the same using matusalen 15 years or Zacapa 23 bla bla but I wanted to say, if you are using Santa Teresa gran reserva and 10ml of sweet vermouth, your drink has to has a colour, not light/pale but never got the chance. It is true the cocktail was half way through, but it was then when we realise the colour of the drink and re read the ingredients to make sure.We then decided to pay and leave. Drink wasn't right, explanation wasn't right and we didn't feel comfortable there. Once the bill arrived, we ask to remove the service charge. The 1st waiter appeared and ask us not too nicely why we wanted to do that. That we cannot complain for a cocktail when is half way and that it wasn't his fault. Then we said that the service is optional and we choose not to pay for it for a number of reasons. We paid. And when we were almost climbing the stairs the waitress with the poor English appears and in a not nice manner asked us "Do you pay?" Which I answered, yes, I have paid but I can wait here for you to check with your colleagues. All in all a very unkind and forgettable evening. I went there very excited about the place, having colleagues that have worked there and... The result was far from good.Worst of it all, I send this concern to them by email and haven't heard from them. I guess only way to get an answer is by making it public.

I'm wondering whether the management realise that if they had enough staff to serve people within 30 minutes, they'd actually make more money. The staff that are there are very relaxed and friendly but surely the cost of extra bar staff will be dwarfed by the extra drinks they'd sell?

Down in London for one night, so was looking for something close to the hotel, providing something different.. after some research Floridita seemed to hit the mark.Staff were fantastic, from the guy at the top of the stairs, to the person doing the eating, and our waitress, the lovely Eleanor. The set menu is a bargain £24 for 3 courses and a Mojito. Food was good - I had the Pork Chop and it was soooo tasty. Music was good, but not quite as advertised ... I was expecting some hits from across the decades, but it was two blokes with guitars playing fairly modern stuff - It was very good, just not what I was expecting. All in all a great experience

I booked a table (and got a confirmation email) for two on 14th Feb through open table as there was a good offer advertised 3 courses and a mojito for £29.50 on Fridays and saturdays there was nothing to suggest that this offer was not available on that date. This morning I got an email from the reservations and group events manager advising me that the price for the time I booked was £59 each! Double the price on the listing and they wanted £20 per person paid in advance! I replied to the email explaining that we'd booked based on their listing on open table and that since making the booking we had booked travel and accommodation and could they please honour the booking. The reply was simply " The offer is not available on this date. It is advertised on the website for all other dates but not on Valentine. Please let me know if you would like to keep this booking." I replied " I would like to keep the booking but at the original price of £29.50 the listing does not specify that any dates are excluded." Which was correct the only exclusion mentioned was the times at which the offer is available there was also an offer end date but this was in April.I'm now waiting for the reply, if they honour the booking I will delete this review, if you're reading this assume they didn't!

My son had his 21st party at Floridita on Friday night. We came after eating so used the place only to chat, drink and dance. The place was open to the public which meant that we had the benefit of the great Latin music and atmosphere though we had exclusive use of Salon Rojo private lounge just to the side of the stage and dance floor. The maximum for this space is 40. We were about 50 and we were also given a cordoned off area just outside the lounge, though most of the time, all our guests squeezed happily into the lounge. The atmosphere, music and service were all excellent. We were especially impressed with the waiters who did a great job and kept me informed how much of the pre-set "minimum" tab had been used. To ensure that guests could enjoy drinks without selecting unnecessarily extravagant ones on us, they created a drinks menu for us which worked well. The drinks weren't cheap but the music made it worthwhile. I hadn't heard of the place before but have heard since from two knowledgeable sources (one South American) that Floridita is the best latin music club in London. I have no reason to disagree. BTW initially we were offered a much bigger space - Constante - also off the main club and another space altogether - Carom. The essence of the club is the music so you definitely need to be in the main place - so if you want the great music, stick to the main space, not Carom. And if you're not eating, Salon Rojo for up to 40 (or 60 including the extra space) is much better than Constante which though much larger, has little atmosphere and is a long way from the dance floor. And Salon Rojo has a much lower minimum spend!

Came here to celebrate my wifes birthday. We were in Key West last March and the food was amazing with Cuban influence so booking the Floridita was a no brainer. The venue was modern but not clinical, and there was a live salsa band playing. The menu was majority fish which is not my cup of tea but my wife loves everything and it was for her not me!I had pumpkin soup which was truely amazing. The flavours were so vibrant. My wife had the meat selection which she said was also fantastic. We both had serloin steak which was cooked to perfection. It was succulent and just so lovely. Im not the biggest fan of steaks but this was one of the best I've had. The ONLY negative would be that there was no chicken dish. I love chicken and would've liked an option on the menu. However we came away extremely satisfied and full!

Special thanks to Brigita and one of the Spanish waiters (we didn't get his name!) for doing everything they could for us to have a good night. The music was admittedly a bit loud, but it's the whole point of the restaurant so it would be a bit silly if it didn't take centre stage! We arrived 9:20 and were told that our table wouldn't be available for another 20 minutes so we hung out by the bar. We decided to go for their 3 course meal which came with a complimentary mojito. Each course had a choice of 2 for us to pick from. Portions were a bit on the small side but meant that we had space for desserts. Service was really good and attentive, we had two servers throughout our meal. Would recommend.

Food and music very poor very bad Christmas night out experience. We had originally booked at the excellent Dover St Wine Bar sadly this closed late November. They called us to apologise and recommended we go to Floridita. Near Christmas we didn't have much choice so duly reserved a dinner table. Arrived on Saturday night shown the table which was right by the cash till. We asked for another table and was given a good table by the dance floor. The house music was very loud so difficult to have a conversation. Ordered scallops and lobster at supplement to the menu. Scallops arrived cold and rubbery these were sent back my wife's lobster arrived which smelt off and was way over cooked so sent that back too. The Latin band arrived and they were very poor so we left. To Floriditas credit they did not charge us for the food but it was a ruined night out. Floridita need to provide much better food and live music. The Dover Street wine bar did exactly how it should be done. RIP Dover St Wine Bar.

All the atmosphere is by the bar and music area, the restaurant area is a little dead. Staff couldn't liven up a little as well. Overall not bad would go back

This is my 5th visit to Floridita. I have to say that the food this time was the best of all five. I was very impressed with the new selection (which is no longer just a Cuban Cuisine). I ordered for the main course the Lobster Thermidor and it was divine! Juicy, tasty, simply perfect! The scallops for the apetiser were over-cooked, so the texture wasnt that great. The dessert was a warm brownie with chocolate which was enjoyable. The service I must say was exceptionally excellent as well this time. Our host was very attentive, his name is Gytis. He ensured that what he followed up on our requests, he was culturally sensitive in giving us the right suggestions on meals. He gave us more attention that I would expect on a busy night like the one we have been to. So again, another positive point for the restaurant. Now, why I keep going back to this place was simply the ambience and the live Latin bands(which is always superb and you can never go wrong with!). But now I will go back for the food as well and the excellent service!

Myself and my guests were very disappointed with our evening hereFirstly, when we arrived we were herded in to a small area next to the bar for our champagne and canapés which could only seat six of us – the rest had to stand up, which was very poor considering the bar area was already very busy so there was not much space for the other 13 guests to stand. The ‘champagne on arrival’ was also very misleading considering I had to ask for our champagne to be served, as the staff didn’t seem to realise we had it as part of the package. After asking for this they still then proceeded to go round taking drink orders for drinks which were not included in our package before we had our champagne, which I specifically told them not to do until we were seated for our meal. The quality of the food was probably the worst we have ever had in a restaurant – very cheap quality and extremely small portions. For example; the pear tart which the majority of us had was too hard to eat – obviously frozen and reheated, and the veg served with the main course was soggy and overdone. Most of my guests could only eat half of their meals and therefore left hungry which is unacceptable. What I found very odd was that we were handed our bill for the evening at the end of our main course - not only did this disrupt us during our meal (and especially my manager who was paying for the event) but it made us feel like we were being rushed and not cared for as a customer. When we were approaching the end of our meal, we were told very abruptly by the staff 20 minutes before 8pm that we had to start leaving – most people hadn’t even finished their dessert by this point. The staff after that, came over to us every 5 minutes reminding us that we had to leave – which was very rude and unnecessary. By 8pm we had left the table, we then proceeded to move to the bar area when we were told that there was no space left in the bar so we had to leave the venue. Therefore our night concluded by standing outside at 8pm with a group of 19 people not knowing where to go or what to do, which was very poor service on your behalf because we were hoping to stay at the venue for the entire evening.Considering the amount we paid – I thought we were very poorly treated. I would not recommend Floridita’s to anybody I know. As advice for any other Christmas Party’s that you hold – do not treat guests as though they are on a conveyer belt, respect them and make them feel welcome. If you’re rushing people because you’re too busy – don’t over book the venue (you’d of got more money out of us if you hadn’t of shifted us out so quickly).
