Took the kids up to see Greyfriars Bobby then stopped for breakfast in this lovely cafe. The staff were great and treated the kids so well even though the wee guy finally opted for cheese and toast. We had all day breakfast with a mixture of things we like replacing the food we were not so keen on. Nothing was any bother and the food when it came was fab. So nice to be served good food at good prices by staff who are child friendly. Will be back and will be telling all my family and friends to go too.

Great wee place to enjoy breakfast, coffee and cake or a bowl of delicious homemade soup. And all served with helpful, friendly staff with a smile.

I had lunch in this airy cafe with my daughter, we ordered a mini breakfast, with fresh orange juice and cappuccino. A glass of water on arrival was a welcome and thoughtful detail. We were presented with cute plates, full of delicious, fresh and pleasing looking food: fried egg, sausage, 2 slices of toast and butter, hash brown and a thoughtful separate mini bowl of baked beans. The cup of coffee was huge and so was the fresh juice, albeit diluted it was just right. I paid at the end and asked if they would do a student discount and immediately was offered 20% off the bill. We felt this was a very friendly cafe, visited by regulars and tourists alike. A great place, and across from the museum, a gem worth discovering.

Popped in with friends on our trip to Edinburgh, a great little place with attentive staff. Home made soup, fresh coffee that kept us warm, great panini's and finished off with warm apple pie.

We were warmly greeted at lunch in this little cafe. Only room for about six tables. Promptly served with drinks and food wasn't far behind. We both ordered Panini's which were fresh and hot. Very delicious. We treated ourselves to some dessert too which again was very nice and fresh. Delighted with this little find.

Looking for somewhere to spend an hour or so between engagements, we popped in here for coffee and cakes. The coffee was delicious, and in a good-sized cup; the cakes were tasty. Pleasant staff.

Hungry, we ducked out of the Edinburgh rain into Cafe Florentine. With several vegetarian options, we decided to stay for lunch. Spiced vegetable paninis with salads hit the spot. Inexpensive and fun. A great neighborhood restaurant with a local feel.

The menus were a bit dog eared, but the choice was huge. The coffee was very good.I stayed in Forfar several years ago, so I was tempted when I saw that they had Forfar Bridies on the menu. Oh dear. This was a stodgy unlovely thing. Puff pastry (not shortcrust) which then had gravy poured over it. It was more like a sausage roll in the shape of a bridie. We had been in Florentine before, and the food was good. Has it changed hands? We will not be going back.

I had the tex mex burger and it was excellent. A juicy burger that came with a sauce that packed a real punch. It was served with a lovely garlicky dressed salad and a huge portion of chunky chips. I loved my meal here and it only cost 6.50. Superb.

Popped in for a coffee with my wife. The service and atmosphere was amazing. The two girls serving were a delight and their names are Julia and Stella. Plus the coffee was excellent.

My mum and son visited the restaurant on 6th July. Unfortunately, my mum took unwell and an ambulance had to be called. My son was extremely upset to see his grandma unwell but said the staff were absolutely excellent making my mum comfortable and supporting both him and my mum. They actually closed the restaurant whilst they waited for the ambulance and refused to take any money for the meal they had started eating. I want to say a massive thank you for the kindness shown to my mum and son, it really meant a lot. From what both my mum and son fed back, the staff were outstanding, fetching my mum cushions to make her comfortable and making cups of tea. You are all an absolute credit and so compassionate. Thank you so much.

We’ve been coming here every week for more than two years now so they must be doing something right! Great coffee, delicious sandwiches and home made cakes and friendly and efficient staff. Can particularly recommend the New Yorker sandwich, croque monsieur and the fudge brownies and carrot cake.
