Friendly staff....nice cuppa and cakes but oh my dated!!!! Old fashioned!!!! Absolutely no ambience!!!! Wouldn't take much to upgrade Outside seating needs a cleanup including the cobwebs along the outside windows Make it more appealing it's in a perfect position

Popped in one morning for a beverage with a friend. Flora's is situated on the road between Westhill and Banchory so it is sort of out of the way but a lovely tearoom with a nice ambiance. There is a small shop with a range of handmade gifts and crafts. There was a good selection of tray bakes and scones and we were served by a friendly welcoming server. The restaurant and toilets were clean. Overall a relaxing place to have morning tea or coffee.

Flora’s have just started doing afternoon tea and it is amazing. They’ve always done delicious tray bakes and cakes so I knew this would be good and it exceeded expectations. I think you have to book the following day and let them know the sandwiches you want. Absolutely flawless - the sandwiches were very good, cakes divine and service was excellent. Great value for money £16.50. This surpasses many afternoon teas I have had in the past. Can’t say enough good things, I would go back again and again.

We nipped in past for a quick lunch, unfortunately we found the pricing on the board wasn't that clear, for example you pay an extra £2 for salad and crisps with a sandwich...for me that's too much. Even though we felt it was overpriced the food was ok, however even though I pass here every week I wont be rushing back.

I came here Friday lunchtime. The service was good. The food was delicious. The price was £4.90 for soup. It’s located on the back road between Westhill and Banchory… ideal for a stop if you’re on the road driving/cycling. I would highly recommend.

We love to stop here for lunch or coffee and cake when out on our bikes. A real find as the food is top quality with the best sausage rolls in the area. The cakes are delicious too. There is always a friendly welcome and great service.

Flora's was once a cyclists stop of choice. Great selection of cakes, big menu served all day. NO LONGER THE CASE. Food service stops strictly at 2:30. A matter of clock watching rather than customer service and availability of staff. Another customer was served their 'meal' as we arrived. I say meal but toasty barely counts as a cooked meal in my book. A real disappointing experience. Can't see it lasting- the old one was here for ever.

I've been a regular visitor to Flora's with my mum over the years who lived locally and we always enjoyed their Scottish dishes available from their menu. Their dishes are both tasty and having good portion size.

Stopped here for a late bite to eat. Not the friendliest of places. Had soup and a toastie but the soup was to salty and had to return it. Didn't seem to pleased when we said what was wrong with it. Asked for a glass of water and was charged 30pence. Soup and toastie was over £11 bit over priced. Used to be a busy cafe but only another of couple of people in.

Visited Floras for the first time yesterday to have a catch up coffee with a friend. Disappointed that only tea or filter coffee is offered - no latte, cappuccino or decaf. Selection of scones, tray bakes and cakes available - which were all OK. Felt a bit like a cross between a transport cafe and your grannies dining room with lots of nick nacks on shelves. Staff were pleasant. Been but won’t be going back.

Overpriced and disappointing! Ping ping food and at £10 or more a go! Quite dismal and dreary atmosphere in cafe although staff quite friendly. But food reheated from frozen and really pasta doesn't do well reheated... soapy. If the meals had been around a fiver and the place had been less dull and dreary I might have been more forgiving but no I won't return. Too dear and food reheated from frozen. Sorry folks, I will move on down the road for fresher food and better surroundings!😃

We prefer the Inverurie one to Elgin or the Inverness ones. Fast service, quieter, consistently lovely food & friendly staff.

We had quite a disappointing experience, we booked the room on the Thainstone house website, we paid extra for a larger bed "super king deluxe" and some extras like a fruit platter, when we arrived they gave us the wrong sized bed, was a standard double when we paid for a super king deluxe, there was also no fruit platter. We were confirmed on the booking for the restaurant, but the restaurant was closed. Instead, they served us in the bar on weird low lounge chairs. It felt a bit silly making us eat in an area that's designed as a lounge, low slouch chairs, etc. They gave 3 different reasons as to why we couldn't eat at a table, considering they have 3 other rooms designed for dining it seemed a bit of a bad decision, other guests came in and looked pretty cheesed off at the arrangements. The gym and pool were really run down. It's not the sort of place you expect when you pay well over £300 for the entire experience. For that price and the house reputation we expected something really nice, I had to pretend to be happy as I didn't want to stress my girlfriend out, we had driven down from the Highlands for her to have a medical procedure at Aberdeen hospital, I thought it would break the journey up and make my girlfriend less nervous to spend the night in a posh hotel, I was mistaken. The one thing that saved this was that the food was amazing, but be warned, a pint of standard beer is £12. I left feeling like I had been really ripped off, wouldn't mind paying more if the place met the expectations.

It is horrible to walk into as everyone smoking outside. Also, when the back door opens the smell of stale, smoke goes through the restaurant . Tables are a mess with leftover plates and never seem to have many staff cleaning. Like an old man's bar with smell and drinkers.
