We came across this gorgeous place whilst visiting Turtle. We only had tea and cake but it was lovely. There was a little wait but so what, we’re on holiday so a good time to chill. Would definitely recommend

A little hidden gem in a quiet little haven on the edge of Abersoch away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks to Becs and her lovely helpful assistant. Enjoyed a light lunch and cold refreshments. Unfortunately we didn't have enough room for one of the lovely home made cakes - maybe next time. Very highly recommend a visit xx

Fabulous, quaint little tea house with the most amazing homemade cakes! The smell of baking when you walk in will make you want to buy everything on show!! Definitely recommend visiting here if you’re ever close by!

Had been searching for a cafe around Abersoch that was quaint and offered a vegan option. I had contacted the cafe the morning before our visit and was informed that they had a vegan chocolate cake, candied nuts and soya milk. We arrived a little later than I had hoped, so I feared I would’ve missed out, but the lovely lady had saved me a piece of the chocolate cake and even gave me some of the candies nuts to try. I was so grateful and the cake and nuts were delicious!! Such a lovely find and just out of the hustle and bustle of Abersoch.

Glorious day so sat outside with the dog had chaii latte, tea and hot chocolate with flapjacks ... all scrumptious.. we had called in a week ago and had toasted sandwiches and scones jam and clotted cream .... all fabulous. You are made very welcome and it's nice and peaceful to enjoy the food and surroundings. You can sit upstairs as well with your dog -- bonus. 😃🐾😃or outside. All the food is excellent. Read the menu and noticed they make there own pies which you can take away , which we did and cooked them at home ...cheese and onion pasty , tasty and pastry best ever also a chicken, mushroom and tarragon pie , this was excellent too. Everything is made with love and care and the quality of the food is second to none. Very impressed as we are quite fussy and appreciate good food.

After discovering Flipside last year we made a point of popping in for a treat after browsing the lovely artists/craftspeople elsewhere in the building. The calm atmosphere in the converted barn is welcome after the hustle and bustle of Abersoch's main street and one way system. There is no room downstairs to sit so you order then go up the staircase to grab a chair or, in our case, the sofa. There is outdoor seating too. Very quickly 3 lovely shakes were brought up with cookies while I opted for a Macchiato. This was a double espresso with a little milk in a tiny (and pretty) blue cup. It was strong but not bitter, brief but intense and satisfying. The milk shakes were slurped and cookies chewed enthusiastically.

Run by a friendly couple and staff, this place and the craft centre it is part of are worth seeking out! The cafe is in an old converted jewellery workshop and is a really cosy space. There's outside seating too if the sun is shining. But most importantly there are great cakes, scones and tray bakes baked by the female half of the team to be had and good coffee too from local roasters Dwyfor and the cafe is reasonably priced which is an added bonus. Flipside was so good we went twice in one day and will definitely return.

We called in here on Friday for a cake and a coffee. The cake was a striped orange and chocolate colour with variety of layers of flavoured cream The diet went out of the window as soon as I saw it. I don't for a moment regret having a huge piece and a great cup of hot coffee and my friend had the same. We sat upstairs in the main seating area and the lady brought it up to us. We were joined a few minutes later by a lady and her daughter who had different cakes. It was gone 5pm and I asked the member of staff what time they closed and she said 'Ten minutes ago but don't worry'. I felt a bit guilty but we certainly were not rushed. It was absolutely pouring with rain outside and this was a welcome shelter. The cup and plate and cutlery were spotless - and as cleanliness is one of my main bugbears it was really wonderful to see hygiene was a high priority. The price was very reasonable for a huge slab of cake and the staff were really nice and friendly. There is some nice seating outside in the Courtyard at the front but wheelchair access would be difficult to the building. The place is very child friendly. I wish the place was a bit bigger and I wish it was nearer to my home. I will certainly call in again when I am back in North Wales.

Flipside cakery is a small unit which is one of several in some converted farm buildings which make up a small art and craft centre. It is a short walk (maybe 10 mins) from the heart of the village. There is plenty of free parking so driving would also be an option if you didn't want to walk. As well as running the small cafe the proprieter also makes celebration cakes in the workshop. The indoor seating was cosy with a great view of whatever cakes creations were underway in the workshop. There are just a couple of seats on the ground floor and some more upstairs (we didn't look at these). Most of the seating is outdoors at picnic benches with substantial unbrellas. We had coffee and cakes. My wife is a good cake baker so we are sometimes disappointed when eating out when the cakes don't live up to what we could have at home. This was not the case at the Flipside cakery. My wife had rocky road and I had a scone both of which were clearly home baked and every bit as good as my wife's. The other units housed several art and jewellery galleries which were interesting to browse. In conclusion if you want somewhere quick, central and conventional then this probably isn't the place for you, but if you're willing to go a tiny bit out of your way for great home baking and a personal touch then head here.

We always visit flipside cafe every time we come to Wales, the cakes are homemade and delicious. We have had lunch here a couple of times which was freshly made, great value and yummy. A great place to share a coffee with friends. You can either sit outside or inside depending on the varied Welsh weather! We also enjoy the jewlerly shop next door where my engagement ring and wedding rings were made. Great friendly service everytime. Thank you Becs and Simon. See you soon

Visited with friends after trying a piece of carrot cake to celebrate a recent wedding in Sicily and Flipside made the nicest carrot cake ever. We had Americano Latte & Cappuccino together with huge scones butter & clotted cream & jam and lemon cake. It is a little out of the way but on a bank holiday sitting outside in the sun it was perfect. Now our friends have been they said they will return as one of their favourites in Abersoch. There is a car park if you are driving and take your purse/wallet as fab craft shops
