Excellent food. Piping hot and large portions. We had steak and lamb shank. Staff friendly and welcoming. All in all highly recommend

We called in for food whilst in Alnwick. We had the roast beef stottie which was lovely. The wainwright's cask was also great. The guy behind the bar was a really nice guy and the welcome was very warm. We would recommend this place to anybody around Alnwick.

My husband and I have been to The Fleece three times in Feb/March. We love it - the food is excellent, the atmosphere is great. Met the owners and they will be doing a refurbishment very soon. Lovely people, lovely staff especially a young man called Marcus. We will be back there soon.

This was a last-minute stop. So glad we did. Alnwick Stout was amazingly light and smooth for a stout. Gammon steak was spot on. Chips were spectacular, and the onion rings were flavorful and crisp. A spot to visit again.

An incredibly Good Time on the fleece dance floor

My time at the Fleece was amazing! the food is comforting and delicious, the staff are kind, funny and wholesome and the whole atmosphere of the pub is incredible! i would highly recommend anyone to go!

Just wanted a refreshment stop while walking outside the town gates. The menu outside the door looked so appealing and reasonably priced, we decided to have our main meal here. My husband and myself had steak pie with hand cut chips, peas and stout gravy. Haven't had a pie as nice as that for a long time. My stepdaughter had halloumi burger which was also enjoyed very much. Staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Nice pint of holy island bitter to wash it down too 😉

Very friendly, traditional pub, tasty food and good selection of drinks, and very reasonable prices.

Went in for some food before a pub crawl this evening and we were incredibly impressed! £12.95 for a packed Steak and Ale pie, peas and incredible home cooked chips! Cheap and cheerful, great traditional pub grub, will definitely go back… get yourselves in and try it out!

Great friendly welcome on arrival, great atmosphere, great food, nothing was too much, had a fun night on Sunday at the quiz night, feel like locals, will definitely come back for a visit.

What a phenomenal staple in Alnwick. We had our company Christmas party there this week and the buffet food was SPECTACULAR. The bar staff were quick and professional and can belt out a tune. We had the pleasure of AnB Karaoke also hosting the event - what a fantastic night. Highly recommend stopping by the atmosphere is loads of fun this Christmas.

What a fabulous night at The Fleece. We booked a party night with buffet for approximately 30 people and the food was top notch! Nothing to fault whatsoever. Definitely recommend a visit here as the staff and atmosphere was also outstanding ❤️

Beautiful buffet - mini Yorkshire puddings with roast potatoes and pigs in blankets and gravy was a big hit! I’d highly recommend the Fleece for private events (birthdays,christenings/wakes)

A very appealing and delicious fare of buffet food was served with plenty of vegetarian options. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. Excellent.

Stopped in for a meal with my partner and 2 dogs. Very friendly staff welcoming and they all love dogs. The place is nice and clean and warm lovely traditional pub. Had gammon steak with peas, chips and onion rings and a cheese and onion pie with chips and beans, both were delicious and well worth the money. If your looking for a nice drink or some lovely food I highly recommend.

Had a weeks holiday in Alnwick, fantastic food,chips are wow!! We ate in the pub 3 times, quiz Sunday night, great atmosphere, friendly staff,landlord Bobbie looked after us, definitely worth a visit for the food and a good all round crack.

Old traditional pub, maybe in need of a small refurb to tidy it ip a bit but don't lose its charm. Service good 👍 & drinks reasonable prices. Would visit again 👍 and excellent location on the high street.

Great young staff behind the bar food is nice and filling, the karaoke is upbeat with an amazing atmosphere with a range of songs for all ages.

Ordered and paid for food, waited 45minutes and asked where food was, they forgot the order! Got my money back for the food and weak apology from the disinterested staff.

A friendly welcome and a tasty meal. We both had pies, cheese and onion and steak and ale, delicious. It was a quiet Monday so can't comment on atmosphere, but staff are attentive and really friendly.

Served by Marcus, who was a friendly, welcoming host. The menu is traditional pub grub, but the quality is more like a gasto quality without the diminished size of portions. If you're staycationing in Alnwick, check this place out. Good wines and beers. So great to find homemade trad pub food

Called in the first night on holiday about hot meal .To late for hot food stopped serving at 7pm recommend other pub for food still serving. Very impressed with that following night we went back to the Fleece for food earlier. The steak pie made on site 10 out 10 plus a good blonde beer wainwright. The all staff made us feel welcome. So if your looking for a pub in Alnwick this got be one of the best .I don't work or have any connections with the Fleece Alnwick

Fantastic meal. I had the Steak and Ale pie and it was amazing and the gravy was perfect. The chips served on the side great too. Cozy atmosphere inside. A darn good pub and meal.

Went in 3 days in a row for food. The first 2 days were very good. Delicious food and great service by the young man. On the 3rd day (Wed 5th June) the service wasn't so good and the food wasn't as nice

Top service from Marcus... Very friendly and polite to all the customers. Town center pub with no on site parking, serving great food from Matt in the kitchen. Hand cut chips were too irresistible for me... Had to buy some for the long journey home. Matt runs a tight kitchen using quality ingredients. Very pleased on this visit... Thanks guys

In from the states for a week and found this gem. Absolutely amazing Atmosphere and the food was even better. I recommend this to anyone looking for a pint and a laugh with the locals. I will be coming here every time I'm in town.

Generally we love the fleece and have often visited as part of a pub crawl to use the pool table and the juke box. However, it’s seems the latest owners for this week have removed the jukebox. More than a little disappointed as it sucked the fun and atmosphere out for us a little bit. We usually stay for more than one round of pool and one drink each. This time, the lack of music kind of killed the atmosphere for us. Hopefully the duke box will make a return soon. :)

The food was excellent, the Steak and ale pie didn't have the best presentation but had more Steak than I've had in one before and was tasty enough to more than make up for it.

First visit in about 16 years when we spent a week in Alnwick for a walking holiday. Good pub, I even remember where we sat near the fire. Two real ales on handpump. A Wainwright Gold and a collaberation beer from three NE breweries which Ic n Flic chose. 3 Rivers.( Aln, Tyne, Wear.)Very good. Nice central bar with three rooms wrapped around. Back room is a pool room.

Our family all came to this pub for my dad’s 60th birthday at the weekend….. the pub is under new ownership and the new owners could not be more welcoming and fantastic! We ended up staying all night…. We had a fantastic evening here, drinks were a great price and everyone was friendly and our dad had a great 60th birthday (until the following morning😜) hahaaa…. So we recommend this place to everybody visiting Alnwick 😊 it was also karaoke night and it was fantastic!!!!

Good pint, friendly bar staff. Quiet when we went in which was early afternoon, but I'd imagine it would be busy in the evening.

Visited on a Sunday evening whilst there was a quiz on and fortunately someone won the jackpot which was great, only it wasn't me. It was the busiest pub by far on that night. I only had a drink, no food. Good prices, pleasant staff, good crowd.

Needs a bit of money spending on it ..

Took far too long to get served (it wasn't busy) and had local women crying we had sat on 'their table'. Walked out after 10 minutes.

Lovely local pub, fast and friendly service. Pool table and dart board available as well with a jukebox (think it was 50p for 2 songs).

We were in Alnwick for a couple of nights celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. We popped into The Fleece for a beer & ended up staying for a few more. It's a traditional, cosy pub, friendly landlady behind the bar & the nicest pint of John Smiths. I've tried a few in many different places & they don't all taste as good as this one. We'd definitely pop in again if ever we're in the area again.

Popped in for a meal, unplanned. Staff and food were really good. The Cottage Pie was top notch selection of veg cooked to near perfection and the Steak Pie was really nice as well. All in all will come back again when in Alnwick. Big thanks.

Whilst visiting the town decided to go for lunch , food was very nice and alot of it at a very reasonable price ,staff friendly and helpful will go back here if we visit town again.

We came up to Alnwick on a holiday and I already miss this place as my local. The manager is amazing, such a good laugh and had some nights with her. The drinks are amazing and cheap, can not fault this place at all. Can't wait to come back soon

Got to be most expensive pub in Alnwick £9.50 for 2 pints lager everywhere else was about £6.50 use to be a good pub but won't be back as better and cheaper pubs nearby.

The barman is the best in alnwick I no this for a fact cos its ME!! Ha ha 😂
