Flames Restaurant in Barnet

Google maps says open. Came here Sunday 12th feb at 2pm. People inside but doors locked. Rude security guard says it’s closed but no reason given. Avoid at all costs.

Very rude and arrogant owner, not only to paying customers but also to his staff. Food took hours to arrive and came cold. Very upset ruined my daughters 40th birthday. Avoid this place, never going there again.

Do not bother just the most awful experience ever. Arrived for booking just before 7pm and left at 10.45pm and still hadn't eaten main course of meze. The wretched manager knowing that he had a party of 50 coming tried to blame the fact he had only 2 chefs. When you tried to speak with him he kept turning his back on us!! Food was average when parts of it arrived at 45 minute intervals!! Never again 😒

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Rude owner/manager, he was very argumentative and disregarded anything that was asked or said to him. Service was extremely slow, we was waiting over 4 hours and still hadn’t received our main meat course (meze). We ended up leaving and not even finishing our meal. Worst restaurant I have been to by far!

Save yourself the trauma and eat elsewhere. We attended as for a 40th birthday party, approx. 60 people. Our meal was booked in advance (meze) and the booking was from 7pm. We waited over an hour for pitta and dips to arrive... a sign of things to come. We averaged 45 minutes between courses and our meal took almost 5 hours. Our plates were only changed on request and it got so bad that I had to collect the previous courses empty dishes myself and take them to the kitchen. The food was average at best, I also got to experience lamb sushi for the first time :/ it will be a miracle if no one in attendance wakes up with food poisoning. The owner / manager is awful and blames his staff for everything, this includes humiliating them publicly. I felt genuinely sorry for our waitress who bore the brunt of so many frustrations and was left in tears by the owner. Completely unacceptable and disgusting behaviour. Waitress (I'm so sorry I didn't catch your name given all the drama) you did a great job in a horrible situation. You have 60 witnesses who will stand with you at an employment tribunal if you need us. Tell a friend, to tell a friend, to tell a friend, to NEVER set foot in this poor excuse of a restaurant. AVOID

Worst Dining experience I've ever had!!! Under staffed and the owner taking out on young waitresses which brought them to tears. He grabs 1 by the arm and dragged her into the kitchen! Food was average at best and the hygiene was disgusting. A damp dirty rag was used to clean our table which left and awfull after smell. I had to request a form of bleach spray to be used to get rid of it. The owner couldn't of cared less. You asked to speak to a manager and he said he didn't know who it was. You ask where the owner is and he said I don't know. All in all it took 4.5 hours to receive our main course! This place should close its doors tonight and never reopen!

Been here previously for parties but we efore we got our starters for the meze which everyone was having except the children. This came out in drabs. I then went to the bar where the owner and 2 of his staff were. I asked for 2 drinks a beer and a latte the owner said to me it will take quite some time to make the latte. (Don't know why as it is a 2-minute job). I paid for the drinks and took the 3 drinks away I asked if he would bring the latte to my table he said yes. At this point, he said to one of his staff "You deal with this order" then walked off. I was waiting over 15 minutes and had to go to the bar and I could see the coffee in the cup at the machine just sitting there the bar staff asked if she could help me and I said yes I am still waiting for my Latte. She apologised and made the latte but at this point she was by herself behind the bar. The 2nd part of the food came out at around 2000 hours then the fish platter came out at about 45 minutes after this. We then never got the main (last platter) until 2215 hours by this time the birthday girl and family were speaking with the manager about the delay in the food coming out and the manager was trying to justify this by saying the fish takes long to cook. (The fish had already been served at around 2045 hours. He was then talking to his staff like they were below him with arrogance. Family members were getting frustrated with the manager because of his attitude and some of them had kids so they doggy bagged their food and left around 2230 hours because by this time they were very annoyed. Then a female who was pregnant was waiting for her food and her husband went and spoke with the manager asking where their food was as his wife was pregnant and hungry and by this point getting tired. The manager with an arrogant response said she will have to wait like the others and at this point the husband was so angry at the lack of respect and customer service wanted to fight him and rightfully so. In the end half of the family and friends had left before the birthday cake was cut which in my opinion ruined the atmosphere of the night. The owner needs to go for customer service training as he has none what so ever. The manager knew how many people were attending as this was booked weeks in advance so he should have had the kitchen staff to handle the amount of orders. I felt sorry for the poor staff as they were rushing around doing everything whilst the owner was dishing out orders to them and then belittling his staff infront of customers. Will not be going here again as it was not good value for money and the food was OK but for me customer service means a lot and you don't talk to your staff or about your staff in front of customers. These are the people that make your business run so have a little respect.for them

This is the worst place I have had the misfortune to eat in ...if you can call it eating ... food was average We arrived before 7pm left at 10.50pm and the main course hadn't even arrived!! The owner was a vile man who was argumentative and arrogant ..treated his staff badly too I cannot believe this place is still open Worst ever experience!!!

Staying in the hotel and after a recommendation from the bar staff to order the kleftiko i did and wow, generous portions of tasty home cooked goodness. Would recommend to anybody in the area to come visit. Staff are friendly and prices are what you expect to pay. Gorgeous food. Thank you.

The food looked awful, full of parsley and the chips were full of oil. The waiter attitude was not welcoming and we had to wait for the food for 35 min. The only nice thing was the live music but the rest was horrible.

We were looking for somewhere to eat with easy parking and I remembered Flames. There was no one in there when I arrived at lunchtime. The starter was filo cheese parcels which tasted frozen as there was water inside. I sent my main back twice, moussaka, as it was just about warm on the inside but it still came back cold. I was two days old and kept in the fridge! I was angered by the response of the 'chef' who was laughing at the fact that I had sent the dish back twice, then she was shouting withing earshot about how it's not warm and going on and on about it. My friends fish was very bony and we were in there far longer than we wanted to be. I won't ever be coming back to this near empty restaurant.

This restaurant is truly an amazing all rounder. Excellent food and service from the moment we walked in to when we paid and left. I was in a large group and the staff were extremely accommodating making sure we had enough drinks and starters. Everything was very well priced and great quality. The chicken is halal which is a bonus as I’ve never been to a Greek halal restaurant - they are really changing the game! Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion

Made a reservation for my birthday and nobody got back to me. Called about 12 times and no one answered me. The food looked great but didn't even get to try it. Better customer service please.

So imagine my disappointment. I book a table with this restaurant online, only to receive a weird email days later acknowledging receipt of my booking...sort of. I booked a birthday dinner and have not been here before but thought I'd try. I called to confirm today. After trying 3 times after their opening time with no reply, I've been told there will be no food served....at a venue that has restaurant in the title. So no birthday dinner for me. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never waste my time trying to go here ever I future.

I had my birthday meal here with a few of my friends. All of my friends absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. Food was amazing , I had the Grilled octopus - the best I’ve ever had. The service was great. We will be returning for our Greek meze.

Can't wait to come again! Atmosphere was amazing, live music was the perfect addition to delicious food and welcoming staff. We had meze which each course was so tasty, great value for money. Waitress was so kind and helpful with our needs.

Very nice atmosphere, very friendly. Saturday set menu and live entertainment. Was first time there, I really liked it. The only problem for myself was they had pork as well within there set menu which I didn't know about. So next time I'll ask to have my menu without pork. Will go again.

Caro El personal es bastante desatendido. Comida muy soso. Entrantes de Halloumi increíblemente salados. Las hamburguesas Angus estaban secas y suaves con bollos quemados baratos. Las patatas fritas estaban poco cocinadas. Los pudines estaban congelados y carecían de sabor. No volverá.

The staff were lovely and the entertainment was good ,There were 7 of us 5 got the food served but the other two had to wait 20 mins before theirs arrived. None of us were happy with the meal and asked to see the manager He would not accept the fact Two people had to Waite for the food 3 of us had the lamb cutlets and they were ruined by being burnt Would not go back again

Este restaurante (donde no hay un cargo mínimo) se encuentra dentro del hotel Ramada en el complejo de entretenimiento Vue en Finchley. Se especializa en comida griega, pero hay opciones vegetarianas, especialmente entre los entrantes. Tomamos café aquí mientras esperábamos a un miembro de la familia que había ido a jugar bolos. Muy buen plato de aceitunas como entrante. Café bueno también y buen servicio.

No me puedo quejar de la comida y el servicio, pero lo que voy a decir es que estoy disgustado con el gerente de turno, un tipo bajito, la forma en que trató a una camarera fue increíble diciendo que la abofetearía si no lo entendía totalmente horrorizada .

Recently visited Flames Restaurant. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. All of the staff were extremely helpful and the service was excellent. Would certainly use this restaurant again.

Una oportunidad perdida con seguridad. Buen restaurante, buena música, pero me temo que eso es todo. Todos los ingredientes son para un buen restaurante, pero la comida era normal, el servicio era absolutamente horrible, las bebidas estaban mal, no entendíamos lo que pedíamos y ¡hablamos griego! No había cerveza Keo, aunque en el menú. Hubo una larga espera para todo lo que pedimos. Dejado con platos usados por siglos, tuvo que pedir que se limpiara la mesa. Tomó 45 minutos para recibir la factura después de preguntar 4 veces. Todo esto sería casi aceptable si estuvieran ocupados, lo que ciertamente no es cierto. Aprovechamos al máximo la noche ya que estábamos entre una gran compañía. Lamentablemente no volveremos.

We had a family day out and went to flames for a meal as it is right next to the finchley bowling and vue cinema. It was ok. Very quiet. We ate outdoors. It was big portions which was reflecting in the price. Everything about the dining experience was very average. From atmosphere to the flavour. I wouldnt be in a hurry to go back

Estaba hospedado en el hotel Ramada mientras trabajaba lejos de casa la semana pasada. Terminé de trabajar temprano en la tarde y decidí tener una comida temprana aquí. Al entrar en el restaurante, el gerente estaba charlando con lo que parecían sus familiares. Pedí una pinta? pero al esperar media hora no llegó nada aunque lo vi sirviendo a otros. Le pregunté si había alguna noticia sobre mi bebida y él parecía desconcertado y luego la sirvió. Finalmente, después de estar allí solo durante media hora, llegó una camarera y luego ordenó una parrillada mixta. Cuando fue servida se sintió goma en textura y muy dura. Después de comer mi cena, tuve el disgusto de escuchar al gerente usar tácticas mientras conversaba con sus hijos sobre la competencia local. ! !Nunca he visto a un gerente de un restaurante usando la palabra cxxx o fxxx mientras estoy comiendo cualquier comida y tengo casi 50 años.¡El servicio repugnante terrible del gerente y nunca volveré allí en mi vida! ! ! !

Awful awful awful! Service 0/10. Asked 3times for a menu and was ignored by the waitress. Manager comes to us and says we HAVE to order a meze. I dont HAVE to do anything mate. He said we have to order a started because its Saturday. They make people order mezes so we can pay for their crappy Live music. There was a guy sitting behind us on a table and his chair fell apart. Very rude manager. Great place if you want to wait an hour for a menu and end up in A&E...; Awful experience.

My wife and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary by having a meal in Flames. The staff were very polite and attentive. Food, which was Greek style, was very good and at a very reasonable price. A very nice little restaurant!

Un restaurante es un lugar para ir y disfrutar de una comida agradable y un buen servicio, este restaurante no es el lugar para esto, falla en todos los frentes. Éramos una gran fiesta familiar y ninguna persona tenía algo bueno que decir sobre la comida, la mayor parte se dejó intacta y esta fue una Meze, así que muchos platos, incluyendo un plato de pescado y un plato de carne, habrían pensado al menos Una cosa hubiera sido agradable, por desgracia, no había un plato sabroso. Nos quejamos pero a nadie parecía importarle. El servicio es muy deficiente, con personal que no pudo entender una palabra de lo que dijimos. Además, la comida tardó al menos una hora en llegar, absolutamente ridícula.

Been recommending to come to this restaurant for dinner, so was looking forward to it. Our starters came and Pitta bread tasted stale and was completely stone cold almost raw dough. Our mains came and two out of three meals had hairs in and the meat was fatty and enidble. Had to go to somewhere else for food after as we’re still starving. Staff were unapologetic of our complaints, won’t ever be coming back.

Está pegado al hotel, por lo que es uno de esos lugares a los que va si se hospeda en el hotel y no puede caminar más de 5 minutos (aunque debería ...). This restaurant is run by a very rude individual.DO NOT EAT HERE.Hotel NOT connected.He prevented us parking in a space reserved for RAMADA guests & was very rude and confrontational.We did not eat there due to the upset caused.Plenty of other places within walking distance.

Superb, i think I passed driving this place and Google thought I was there. Well I don't remember so but five stars for passing by.

Visited for the first time following a visit at the nearby Finchley Leisure Centre as heard good things about it from Greek friends. It was before 6pm in Saturday so we were very early and at first the only customers there as zit’s very quiet apart from the good background Greek music.

Ordered a lamb kebab dish. The Lamb was pretty much inedible, the salad and rice bland. They charged me £3.50 extra for some yoghurt sauce I ordered in an attempt to give the dish some flavour. I questioned the bill but they said I had to pay it as I ate it all. I certainly didn’t, left most of the lamb on the plate but was beyond arguing. I work away from home very regularly eating all over the country. This was one of the worst meals in recent memory

I love the food at Flames, the quality is amazing and I am always happy with my meal! I've had many dishes and all are exquisite!

This is the restaurant of the Ramada Inn, Finchley. We are staying for a week in the hotel and, through laziness decided to give it a try. The food is a mixture of Greek and Mediterranean. The interior isn't anything special, but the food is superbly cooked and the portions are very generous. This is our second visit and my wife had a whole barbequed sea bass with huge salad for £18. I had a large Spag-bol for £9. Wonderful food; generous portions and very reasonable prices. These 3 things are what most holiday-makers seek unless they are looking for fine dining. The area has a large Greek population which often visit, but there are many hotel guests here. We do urge you to try this place (with free parking) if in the area.

I was staying at the Ramada this week and enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant. Service was great, a went for the chicken skewers with rice and salad which were superb. Super tasty and very reasonably priced. Beer was decent price as well. Service was good and they also had the football on the tv which was a nice bonus. Couldnt have asked for a better mid week meal out.

The four stars are for the staff. I only had a bowl of wedges as s snack, very nice they were but cannot comment on the iverall food quality. I read the reviews as i was staying in the hotel, and couldnt quite connect the reviews with the restauraunt as on both Thusdsy and Friday it was very quiet. My biggest issue was the notice requiring you to spend a minimum £10 if you were paying on a card. I had used my cash up on drinks and had to scrape together £3,50 for the wedges. We are in a contactless age, my children and others don't carry cash. Come on join thd 21st centuary. Oh, and don't ask to take your drinks to the room you cant as the owner takes the cost of yhe glass out if the staff wages if it doesnt come back.

I have been to this restaurant on many occasions and it has never failed to deliver on both quality of food and service, make sure to wear your dancing shoes on a friday/Saturday evening as the live entertainment will help burn of those extra calories you have just consumed.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant several times over the past few years. The food, atmosphere, live entertainment, and most of all the owner Tony is absolutely charming. The food is freshly cooked and never fails the disappoint. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Friday & Saturday nights when we usually visit the place is packed. So definately book in advance. This place is great for friends and family. There is a great buzz around the place. The customers can dance Greek Style and its very fun. The sea food is highly recommended.

It all started yesterday when manger tony said he would showing the Chelsea game on the kodi box connected to the tv in the bar.

The food and the atmosphere were great but our night was spoit by the two female waitresses who were very rude and arrogant. The only beared waiter was brilliant. Shame that they spoilt our night.

Decidimos almorzar y unas copas en el restaurante griego en el hotel - llamas. Fue fantástico y popular con huéspedes del hotel para no fumadores. La comida estaba preparado a pedido - así fresca y sabrosa y muy buena relación calidad-precio. El camarero era precioso y las bebidas eran baratas, especialmente en Londres. Teníamos dos enormes comidas, pan, patatas fritas, aceitunas y 6 bebidas, todo por 53 libras.

Second time we have used this hotel restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food is very good - we chose the Greek options and we loved it. Kleftiko and Moussaka very good. Service good and friendly.

Louis, Natasha and Micha are so friendly and welcoming. Travelling alone can be a bit daunting. But staying at the Ramada and having a great restaurant and staff like these guys you soon feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble. I dont know about the person saying on other review that they didn’t get enough time to enjoy the starters but I had a lovely experience my starters were amazing I had calamari prawns and spanakopita (spinach pie) and a T-bone steak which has cooked to perfection .

Do not order a starter and a main as you are given no time to enjoy the starter before the chef is shouting out for waitress to take your main out to you, we were only half way through the starter the first time she done it second time the waitress asked if it was ok to bring it out to the table as it was getting COLD in the kitchen as we were taking to LONG to eat the starter..

Stayed here for 6 nights. Ate here for 5 of them. The food is the best Greek food I have ever tasted, amazing selection of starters, well washed salads and great mains and myself and my Apprentice ate quite a few during our work stint a few miles up the road in Southgate where it turns out that there is a Travelodge within 0.3 miles of the site we were working at (So glad we did NOT realise!!). The 4 course platter for two (or however many) is fantastic value for money but do not eat during the day if you order it! The Ramada Hotel is made a far better place to stay by this great authentic restaurant run by a great set of people. Would stay here again just because of the restaurant. Great authentic Bazouki live music aswell at weekends. Thankyou for everything but mainly the food.

Like many others we used this restaurant as were were staying at the Ramada hotel. Popped in around lunch time for a few drinks and light snacks, was bought out some olives to nibble on whilst looked over menu. Everyone ordered their food, i asked about one of the starters, was explained what it was, and was then given other suggestions of what i may like. Stuck with what i orignally wanted and was bought out something completely different. I questioned this and the guy looked puzzled and still kept suggesting other starers instead of the one i wanted, in the end i just went with the tzatziki since it seemed like too much trouble. We came back for dinner as well, had the swordfish shashlik which for £14 for a few bits of fish was abit pricey, but tasted nice. All in all it was pretty mediocre, nice... just nothing special. Or maybe greek just isnt our thing. There was live music on the saturday that we were there... female greek singer.... again not our cup of tea.

We're a party of 10, and just had a lovely meal, we totally confused ourselves when ordering but the waiter got it spot on! Young children were made more than welcome. Would definitely recommend

Visited again for a birthday meal.The food was excellent as was the service.We were located in the back section of the restaurant do to a late booking.When booking ask to be seated in the front section, the atmosphere there is first class.
