Gokyuzu Finchley in Barnet

Absolutely lovely polite staff , one of the staff member guided me to pray area on 2nd floor ,Thanks so much for that. Cleaning standards are high and food is super tasty . Three stars given purely on Sharma chicken beyti portion size as is not even near to what was in past . Very pricey and small portions.

Food was nice but the service charge ruined it. They said more than 8 people then they cannot remove service charge but by law it’s optional in the UK. Clearly a rule for Gökyüzü only.

We group of 9 incl kids went for the dine in and joined the queue to be seated in. I spoke to Husein at the reception, who was quite approachable and welcoming. I specially requested Husein to be seated in the patio area, when the table is available, and we as a group were happy to wait as well. After a while, we were approached by a female wth curly hair and white shirt, advising us that the table is ready, and it was in the main hall. I advised her that we would like to be seated in the patio area reason being we are with the kids and it is less noisy in the patio area. The lady with the curly hair was quite rude reasoning why we cannot take the table in the main hall on ground floor. I approached Husein and requested if he can arrange the table in the patio area. Husein advised that the table is available and can be made available in 5 mins. The lady in the curl was quite annoyed and started whinging in non English language and making faces. Husein looked after us. The ambient and food was quite good. However the customer service wasn't the best just because of the lady in the curly hair. After the food, I went looking for Husein, but apparently he was finished for the day. Thus never got the chance to say thank you to him for his kind behaviour.

Excellent meal with as good quality Turkish food as I have had in any UK Turkish restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly. Will go back very soon.

The service was terrible from the restaurant manager. Went in to collect my online order. The manager finished serving the customer in front of me then completely ignored me. Another customer came behind me and the manager immediately acknowledged him and served him before me. I asked if I was invisible to him and he said he did not see me even though I was standing right in front of him. Needless to say, will never go back there again.

Very well welcomed , the service and food was top . We celebrated my little one's birthday . The restaurant has a great atmosphère , the only issue is the parking (very limited customer parking is available ) .

The food was delicious! I was disappointed in the service received. You had to hunt down the waiter/waitress to make an order, no one came to check to see if we wanted anything else or the clear our table away. I was very disappointed.

Went with family for dinner and my son found a hair on his plate. I told the waiter and she said she would inform the manager. At the end the manager couldn’t even bother to say sorry or apologise. The waiter came with the bill and told me she has taken off the “service charge”. I was really displeased 1st because they think I’m stupid, service charge is not compulsory therefore they did not recognise their mistake. 2nd manager couldn’t be bother to come to our table to apologise or even to ask if everything was ok, Really disappointed. I paid the bill but not happy with out come of the situation. That’s was really bad customer service despite of the food that was really good I must say. One of the reason I paid my full bill but not happy with the conduct of their customer service. I will not go back to this restaurant in particular. As they did not treat me accordingly. For this reason my review of this restaurant in Finchley rate 0 just for the fact that they didn’t even care. Also I must say the lady who came to clean was careless. Just a shame I didn’t take pictures

Very typical turkish restaurant.

This place never fails me to indulge in such amazing food & Turkish tea! A must visit for small or large groups & I would definitely recommend this for families. We dined upstairs on a Friday evening & it was a good atmosphere, & enjoyable meal. Our drinks (mojitos x5), starters & mains came relatively very quickly. Food tasted fresh, & drinks were amazing. Only downfall was parking. As it is such a busy restaurant expanding on parking should be considered in the future. Also that they toilets are only upstairs, I do nothing think this is friendly for those who have additional physical needs. But saying this, the toilets are clean! That is so much appreciated in a restaurant. But other than that, the views from upstairs dining area is great. Always a good time here.

This place is surprisingly packed which astonishes me Bad points: - Really poor quality food. My local Turkish kebab serves better food. - Some of the meat smells off. - The bulgur and rice is just awful - On top of that its quite expensive - Parking is small and when you go to the paid car park area its quite difficult to do Good points: - Halal menu - The fresh mint tea was the best thing - The vibe and atmosphere is quite nice

This is an amazing restaurant, the food is amazing, the staff are so beautiful and great at looking after us. Hulga is such a great waiter and always came to check on us during our stay. I really recommend this place, Huseyin is a great manager and he helped my friends celebrate their engagement party. We felt so much at home and the chicken doner and mixed grill was so juicy.

In a nutshell this is the best Turkish restaurant I've ever been to! This is also my favorite turkish restaurant. Customer Service is always top notch and the food is great and always keeps me coming back for more. The dining facilities and toilets are all very clean. Also the restaurant decor looks really stylish. The food portions are also decent considering the prices and you get a complimentary Turkish tea at the end of your meal :) The waiters are all really attentive, nothing is too much to ask. There is free parking outside the restaurant but when it's busy it can be a bit difficult to find a space. Thank you Gokyuzu I will be back when I'm in the area.

Was a bit noisy on Saturday night, but food / service was amazing! We were warm welcomed to sign even thinking it was super busy there, but waiters found a great table for us. As starter they brought bread, tatziki, and salad free of charge. Was delicious. Food was really great! Parking a bit small for this size of place but there is paid alternative option. In general it’s a great chain. Will recommend it!

I attended this place for a Birthday meal.after looking at the menu because I don’t like Rice I asked if it could be exchanged for chips. And was told by the manager this would not be possible however he explained that I could buy chips on top of the meal separately. I was born in the Uk and often eat out And never have I come across a restaurant where you cannot exchange something on the menu which you don’t like or allergic to. I will never go back to that restaurant again, and the food was not that nice anyway. Lovely waitress name Aveva who was powerless to help even though she wanted to. She remained professional and kind though out the night.

The desert ( chocolate cake)that I finally got to order was delicious, as was the Turkish coffee. However, I had to wait for ages to place my order. They were busy which is why I waited.

The food was tasty but I couldn't enjoy the food properly because of the staff keeping walking around us and watching us if we finished the plates or not to take the empty plate . it makes me feel uncomfortable because they kept watching us. They made me feel like they wanted me to go back home. We ended up finishing our food quickly and then left. It's so bad i will never go back again.

Food is alright, customer service has gone down drastically. Too busy to effectively serve customers. Ordered a takeaway and had to wait 45 minutes without any feedback whatsoever. It appears they only started preparing the order after I waited at the premise more than 30 minutes without any input and then informed they had made the wrong fish! Not what it used to be and can’t be recommended anymore. They seems to give priority to Deliveroo orders than anything else.

Food is good and our initial waiter was fine ….. BUT in general the waiting staff were rude, indifferent and didn’t understand or speak English … at one stage there were a line of them looking at the diners …. Not really what you want when you go for something to eat … we had to ask for a lot of things including more serviettes… and the unfriendly waitress brought one …. Seriously sort it out!

It was our regular place to go on weekly basis but tonight deserts were cold we ordered konofe and in one off them we have find hair wich was discussting but the bigger disappointment was when we asked to change the deserts we been told its always like this and that's how they serve hot desert and the manager in charge instead off been polite and apologising in such rude and bad way just asked the waitress to take the plates back and cancel the order without even saying sorry or apologies unbelievably rood very very disappointed and will never visit this restaurant again, not recommended at all .

I visited Gokyuzu and it was a huge disappointment. We ordered a full platter expecting a hearty meal, but instead, they gave us leftover bulgar mix with rice. It was clear they were cutting corners to save money. To make it worse, the mix kebab, which was supposed to be part of the platter, wasn’t even included! The portion of chips was ridiculously small, not what you'd expect when ordering aide dish, it felt like they were trying to stretch out the food as much as possible at the expense of the customers' experience. Honestly, I’d recommend avoiding this place. If you want great food and proper service, head to the Wood Green or Kentish Town branches. They know how to treat their customers right, unlike this disappointing visit. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere!

Grill section offers great food. We tries lamb shish, lamb ribs and mixed platter. Red meat food was perfect but the chicken in the mixed platter which was chicken shish and wing was not tasty. The Adena kebab was great! We also ordered Ayran as a drink which was good. Before serving the food they will bring a salad, fresh bread and yogurt mixed with cucumbers on the house to every table which a great starter. BUT the rice is really bad! Really!! We didn’t order any, it was on the plate as a side. The first time that we went there staff was not that friendly, I am assuming because it was kinda late and they were tired because the second time that we went there they were good and friendly. There is also parking space available. I just didn’t like the atmosphere that much, not the restaurant’s fault, people were really load ! I couldn’t hear my husband talking to me and he was just sitting in front of me ! We went there on a Friday night.

Nice kebabs and good quality meats, chicken kebabs are a bit dry. I had much better grilled chicken breasts. Rice on the side was cold and not to my liking. The rest was perfect( side dishes and Ayran drinks,ribs and kebabs) Not very well trained staff. You can even say they are a bit rude. They will hover around you and stay by your table and chat and showing not much respect overall.

I cannot understand the good reviews. It was a horrible place with no sense of customer service. Never seen such indifferent service. The food looked ok but was bland, lukewarm and underwhelming. Where we sat was not very nice, the redeeming feature is a couple of pleasant waitresses but there are so many waiting staff and most of them are unpleasant and arrogant. The parking is unclear and not great, we got a ticket the first time we enquired about eating here and the so called manager did not give a toss. We were careful second time around as it's nearer to us than our usual place, but it's below average with horrible staff. We will not be back.

A whole family of 13 of us went for a celebratory meal. It was absolutely awful. The staff were rude, slow and not attentive. They also had no idea about allergies, so it felt very risky to eat anything. And the other customers were just rude and obnoxious. Never going there again.

We ordered Mediterranean breakfast it was terrible. Too much oil in everything. It is not healthy and even nice to eat. It was a waste of money. Even when complained about the oil the personnel gave us a cold shoulder without any respect!!!! Such a waste of time and money!!!

My favourite Turkish restaurant Food is tasty , the service is excellent and prices are ok taking into account the current price madness that we live in. Free car park too. I like the complimentary salads, bread and the traditional Turkish tea they usually offer with the bill. For all Turkish food lovers this place should be on your list. 🥗🥓👌

The food is great! a true meat feast! There is plenty of parking, the staff is efficient. And I love their orange juice.

Booked for wedding reception, but the booking had not been recorded correctly so staff were not ready for our arrival. But after the initial disappointment the staff were quite quick to get food on the table and our cakes displayed

Great place with an extensive menu of great Mediterranean cuisine. I stopped off for a quick early evening meal to quell the hunger pangs, which is exactly what my meal did. Great venue, wonderfully tasty and sumptuous food and friendly/attentive service from the staff. A must visit place.

Excellent as always. Love the ambiance and helpful staff. Would recommend to all Turkish Mediterranean food lovers. The only thing I would say is that parking is limited and had to park next door hotels parking, which is paid parking. Long winded process of registration and setting up account for parking. Other than that everything was good.

Standards have considerably dropped. Taking advantage of their previous reputation. Having ordered takeaway and eaten inside many times, standard of food dropped but not prices! Always order fish dishes , always came with fresh mixed salad. Now, no salad or just a pile of old lettuce leaves! Fish dishes/prices a little higher than other places, which is fine if the standard delivers- it doesn't anymore! Also, on occasions prawns, fish badly cooked! The sign of a good restaurant is consistency...this place does not have that , and also take advantage their success and tey to take advantage of the customer. There are better places to go...I would advise people do a little research.

This is a big place that is more impressive from the outside than it is from the inside. Service is woefully bad, staff are poorly trained or simply don’t care. The food is poor. It lacks taste and is presented by rude staff who show their contempt for the job by banging down the food in front of you. Visially the food is not too bad but it’s poor value and lacks taste. There are a couple of friendly waitresses but this is not enough to justify a return visit. Overpriced and tasteless, food in a chilly restaurant with rude staff makes for a horrible experience and we wont be repeating it. If you fancy good quality Turkish / Mediterranean food, this is not the place.

Definitely the worst Turkish meal, we’ve ever had. We decided to treat ourselves to a meal out after a long week. It was a horrible mistake. The ambience is totally off. You get the impression they’ve set up to make money and delighting customers is not even an afterthought. The food was the first disappointment - tasteless and greasy. We couldn’t believe how only parts of the starter was edible. The main mixed platter was full of slimy tasteless meats with hardly any taste. The bulgur was soggy and unappealing. The bread was cold. It didn’t help that they blasted air conditioning on to the max and it was uncomfortably cold. The waiting staff were cold, indifferent with poor manners. There were two of the waiting staff that are pleasant but they didn’t remain near our table. We were served by a rota of rude and cold staff plonking food down with no niceties. Clearly they do not want to be there and I don’t know if managers are willfully oblivious to all the shortcomings or it theyre trying for a warped notoriety with rude staff to see if customers will stick it. Food looked ok but the taste and everything else was horrible. We had to ask 3 - 4 times for the bill. The prices are high given the awful service and terrible lukewarm food. As we left we noticed the floor was filthy. Staff didn’t even bother to say goodbye or acknowledge us. We were grateful to leave this horrible place and glad it was just the 2 of us! Don’t know how they attract customers. It’s an awful place. There are much better options out there!

We have been going to this restaurant for sometime, but last night the food was not as good as used to be, with 2 jumbo platter we paid around 280 pounds but unfortunately the meat quantity on jumbo platter was disappointing, we can compare it well with out previous experiences Thanks

always saw it when going into the retail park in north finchley but finally decided to try it out. the customer service is impeccable as you’re greeted with wonderful smiles and attentive staff who bring free bread and vegetables with your delicious and filling main meal, it’s also finished off with divine turkish tea. lovely place and would definitely come again!

We visited with family on a sunday and it was.very busy, they found a seat for us in about 10 mins and when we.ordered the food came very quick, i believe because they were busy and were wanting us to.finish asap. I don’t like to make negative reviews, however, the service was the worst I have ever experienced ! How miserable are the waiters! Seriously if you don’t want to work there, then don’t ! Everything was too much of an effort for them. Food however is excellent.

I've been here a few times but my last visit as a group of 7 was a disappointment. It wasn't a busy night, the majority of the staff were miserable, no friendly talk, no eye contact, no smiles. This was from start to finish. We ordered the £100 platter with meze, this came with half the kofte missing, no problem. The waiter dealt with this and we were given an extra one, good service on that part. No on to my main complaint, the platter. (£80) Whilst more than edible and tasty it did not meet the standards of any comparable restaurant where you're paying that much for a platter. The chicken shish and the wings were both dry and overcooked and the wings were slightly burnt in parts. My other main issue was the size of the lamb chops and ribs that were much much smaller than usual. How is this fair to customers to be so inconsistent? Others have mentioned that there are better restaurants near Finchley Central and certainly the gold standard for London are some of the spots in Green Lanes

Definitely class and the platter portion, leaves for plenty left overs. Large windows, so one can look outside. It was a very happy atmosphere.

£99 for a jumbo platter, smaller than other branches of Gokuzu. Parking is near impossible, paid £6. They charged for everything even the Turkish tea. For s jumbo platter the doner was literally a spoon full, Service was horrendous, asked for water 4 times, no waiters came to check or ask we had to try to get their attention every time. Plenty of other turksih restaurants. Very disappointed. I was surprised by how quiet this place was especially on a Friday night but by the end of the night, I could understand why. Rubbish service.

I had breakfast today at Gokyuzu restaurant Finchley) and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The lady who served us was not very welcoming and came off as quite rude. When my kids asked for extra jam, which we were willing to pay for, she seemed unhappy about it. She complained that she didn't know how to add it to the bill since it was a set menu, so she reluctantly said she would just give it to us. Later, when we asked for some butter, she was visibly annoyed. By the time she finally brought it, which took quite a while, we had already found some butter on one of the plates. To add to the frustration, she had charged us for both the extra jam and butter. Overall, the service was very poor, and the staff was unfriendly and not welcoming at all. It was a disappointing experience.

Went in for Dine in last Friday - first time with friends and it was very jolly good experience! Amazing food specially their grill platter ! Mock tails are unnecessarily experience were not so good! So wont order next time.

Quite nice place, but IMO overhyped. Restaurant is quite big, with loads of tables and sitting options. But each time I visited it - there were lots of people, with quite long queue to enter. To their benefit, restaurant handles the load quite well, with still quick service even despite being full. The menu is good, mixed platter seems to be very popular. It's generous and tasty. Not the best I've tried tho, and quite expensive.

Ordered the jumbo platter was a bit disappointed as there wasn’t too many variety of meats a lot of ribs on the platter. The service was very good, tried to get a Turkish tea at 1:30 pm but they stopped serving it as it was busy which is a very strange thing to do as they clearly prioritised the more expensive options. I did go on Eid Day but they should have been prepared well in advance. The dessert was very nice I ordered a Knafeh. Would I go again? I think not as it’s a lot of money for something that doesn’t stand out.

My soap came after the main dish so I asked to cancel. Half of us had a stomach ache( Everyone ate from their full platter)after finishing the food. I will never go again.

**** BEWARE NO PARKING **** The car park at Gokyuzu is not theirs and the Manager stated it is nothing to do with them its not their car park. I recieved a £100 fine. Management if you read this make it clear to your customers this is not parking for Gokyuzu.
