Flames Kebab and Fish bar in Croydon

I placed an order using deliveroo and didn't receive it ,called this restaurant which as very rude staff who confirmed that they couldn't reach me as the call wouldn't connect and added I won't be charged and to contact deliverooo. When I contacted deliveroo they told me that the restaurant had confirmed the order is delivered. This place is a scam avoid at all costs

The option online says the kebab comes with salad , there was no option for sauce so if they didn’t put that in then whatever but the kebab didn’t even come with the salad which was described in the bio. No one eats dry kebab with absolutely nothing . We Will never order from here again. The pitta is also dry and coming apart. I paid extra for large for no reason. Next time sticking to pond kebab & chips take away or Croydon kebab centre! Extremely unhappy . Kebab is one of my favorite take away and I gave this place a chance. The man who answered the phone instead of fixing the problem tried to argue with me like I should have put salad in the comments when it says in the DESCRIPTION ITSELF with salad . Ridiculous . My family won’t ever order from here again and anyone in this area shouldn’t either. 0 customer service

The worst shop in London. They are rude...they don't have no customer service skills and if you are a person of colour they will treat you different. They pick and choose who they want to ask to pay before buying food and when I questioned it the guy wanted to fight me. Never ever going back there again. And I don't recommend that anyone else does. Terrible experience.

Flames used to do fish and chips cooked to order many years ago. The fish was freshly cooked to order and had decent size chips. When I got back they refurbished the shop and I was in for a rude awakening. I ordered the fish and chips from the meal deal menu. The way they cooked the fish was ghastly. The fish was frozen which they added to the batter and fried. The frozen chips looked like it came from a budget supermarket. The fish they cooked didn't taste fresh and the chips tasted like cardboard. It's not worth £10 and I'm definitely not coming back.

Take your order take your money then don't deliver and don't answer the phone. Then you waste ages trying to get your money back.

Charged £2.49 more than displayed price. Old fries reheated multiple times. No salad provided compared to other kebab shops in vicinity. I would suggest trying other shops.

Do not order a takeaway delivery. They took my order and i paid but I had to contact them after an hour and a half to find out what was happening with my meal i paid for. They said what I ordered was not any left. But I paid for it. It was only a Monday night too. THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN ME MY REFUND!

I ordered another order because it was “under new management” and it was even more worse ! Whoever took my order changed the prices so many times , then when the order came the driver was confused plus you charged me for items you didn’t include . The driver is amazing but whoever is answering the calls doesn’t know what they’re doing and just wants the money. DONT ORDER FROM HERE!!!

Would not recommend ! I had asked for a kids Burger meal plain only meat and bun with a strawberry Miranda they had seen my instructions as they gave me the drink I chose but decided to not follow the instructions as they had put cheese in my burger. Very disappointed I order quite a lot from this place but will not come back ! I also tried calling the shop 4 times and no answer this is not the first time this has happened ! I wouldn’t advise wasting your money on a kebab better off going to hazar kebab or even better German doner kebab. Worst experience ever I’d give 0 stars if that was an option it’s not worth the money at all I will be taking this higher

Never order through deliveroo. Youll never see your order and have to fight a war to get a refund. I wish i looked at the reviews earlier before ordering because they all make sense now. Cant understand why they would accept an order they had no intentions on fulfilling

Do not order from here!! Ordered via just eat; it didn’t turn up, tried calling several times when it was a bit late, and they don’t pick up the phone; got to 40 mins later than expected so about 2 hours after initially ordering and asked for a refund which wasn’t given.

It took the guy 30 minutes to complete my burger and chips order he was clearly having a conversation with someone and not preparing my food, the food was average at best i would like a somewhat decent tasting food for what I paid.

I can't believe the ignorance of this service. I asked for mixed Kebab with salad also dais all the salads with a lot of green chillies did I even get one chilli 'NO!' With a small portion of chips. To come home and find out I got a whole PORTION of chips and scattered chicken kebab only with onions!!! like come on!! Worst customer service. Everything was there to provide as I was right in front of them could of asked to confirm but chose to ignore me. Didn't eat one bite as unfortunately chips was hard and rock and onions were over powering and I really just wanted meat!!!

I called to complain about my £20 order not being refunded when I cancelled a minute after ordering on Just Eat, only to be told by a mumbling person that they refunded the money to just eat, which just eat told me didn't happen. They lied and kept my money, please save your money and don't bother with this place.

Walked in thinking Turkish you know *kebab* realised quickly it was Afghanis didn't get dettered I should have I got a large lamb done with chips the chips was at least 2 days old taste like oil squeezed out oil and horrid the doner was days old worst I've ever had and I'm 30 years old I have had my fair share of kebab the chili sauce is literally tomatoe paste and hot water.. AVOID AVOID across the road there is hazar kebab (also afganis) but at least the done is fresh and there chips not as bad.. this is the worst food I have put in my mouth for th3 last couple of years I am literally put off meat 😫

Their number is out of service and delivery never came, no way to contact them at all. STILL WAITING ON RESPONSE FOR REFUND. Do not chance it like i did.... doesnt matter how late and hungry you are

MISSING BULK OF ORDER AND RECIEVED MOULDY FOOD Ordered at 22:45 and got here at 00:20. Missing sausages that were the main part of the order and received beans instead of mushy peas. Started attempting to eat the cheesy chips and curry sauce as that was all I received. That was until I found mould on the chips. I thought no way at first, but after smelling it was definitely mould. Terrible place, avoid like the plague.

Placed an order via Uber eats- they delivered drinks and no food, I paid £24 for 2 drinks and only got £12 back for refund. Not good enough. Have to reorder from somewhere else and spend a similar amount again. Very poor.

Masood and nozad were amazing. Would return for their service. I'm quite picky about having onions in my food and they didn't make me feel silly about it. Ended my birthday night on a special note. Thanks guys!x 😘

I ordered food from here at 2 am, came in 20 mins, and was very hot and fresh. Taste was amazing and it was a great 2 am feast - will be coming back again, lovely owner too, takes great care of his customers.

I ordered a large Chicken Kebab with chill sauce and jalapeños and only the jalapeños were good. The chicken was really dry and there was very little chilli sauce added.

Staff very friendly and nice delivery was very nice and hot and on time and when I went to the shop to get food the staff very respectful and friendly and the food was nice and tasty would definitely recommend for people who likes fish and kebab id definitely buy from here again

Ordered through Uber Eats. The prices and the fact that the option for Cod was in the meal section of the menu, I assumed that it would be fish and chips together. Turns out no. Spent over £20 on two tiny Cod :)

If I could I would give this takeaway zero stars. Got taken over by Turkish people that can not cook properly. My kebab was not cooked but cremated and burn behond belief. I won't be buying from here anytime soon

Ordered scampi - got..fish fingers? Not sure as they were not fully defrosted and tasteless. Miserable looking chips. My husband had fish and got a stomach problem the next morning. Places like this should be shut down.

To my surprise I received this on Saturday 19th March 2022. Old, cold, black hard re fried and all different style fries in one box. I wasn’t able to eat them at ALL or feed my children them so just ate the small/medium fish that came with it which was supposed to be large. To top it off they even forgot my drink…. Not impressed and won’t be ordering from them again! This was not my first time being disappointed with the quality of my food. I also had a burger which was edible ish, soggy but we ate that. Not even a bird would eat these stale chips. Horrendous. They won’t allow my pic to upload so view pictures section to see chips only.

Been coming here since they opened. Best priced and tastiest Large Chicken Shish in Croydon. These guys rely on return business and always cook fresh. They deliver hot food that is still hot on arrival too. Also, one of the cheapest large battered sausage & chips for miles, in my experience only one place is cheaper but their sausages taste horrible in comparison.

Chips are not very nice, my boyfriend gets the kebab and he loves it wont get one anywhere else. I only get the grilled chicken wings if i can. They very rarely seem to be available which is frustrating.

When the food arrived it was nothing what we ordered, tried calling for a refund and they made out we didn’t make an order and we have tried calling them but they won’t pick up now, wouldn’t recommend this place, place should be shut down.

If I could give 0 stars I would… second time we’ve ordered from here the first time took over an hour and a half for the food to get here and there wasn’t everything as specified on the menu. Also today delivery was quicker but came with no salad, no onions, no peppers no mushrooms and we ordered a childrens meal and there was no drink or chips with it. We paid the full amount and expected to get everything that is written on the menu for the flames special. We called them numerous times and they were rude on the phone said they would send the things with free drink cans. When they arrived again the remaining items of the order that was missing was still missing they just sent chips and drinks. We called again and they said that the drinks were free but if we have paid for the full order and the items didn’t arrive. So we called again and they said they wouldn’t give us the rest of the food because we got a free can of Pepsi. (Which we didn’t ask for) Don’t bother ordering with these people as they just steal the money and don’t give you the food. Food was was shockingly bad too it was Cold and the chips were dry.

The food was over 1 hour 20 minutes late (ordered through deliveroo and fulfilledby the restaurant directly) and was honestly disgusting. The chips were solid and cold and the fish tasted very stale as if it was 1 day old.

This place was on Just Eat menu for a little while, however, recently they've removed themselves I think because of distance to my location but its an absolute shame because this place was my to go food place regularly. There not may food places which I enjoy these days so when these come off and stop delivering i was really disappointed. Please reconsider delivery to the Sutton location!

Lamb doner here looks and tastes meaty not bland and anaemic, salad nice and chunky, prices low and staff very friendly. Pop in on my delivery round frequently as its the best one around here!

I'll level, I wasn't expecting much at 1am but surprised. Battered fish and real chips, battered sausage. Hands down tasty, delivered early. Can't fault anything apart from my choice of portion size.

If i could give this food no stars I would -under no circumstances order fish and chips.. its took over and hour and a half from order to delivery. Food was stone cold as it has been "out for delivery" for nearly 50mins and the chips were burnt and the fish was dryed out and swimming in oil. Utterly horrific. Had to go in the bin.

A while ago Flames Kebab and Fish bar was called Blue Sea specializing in fish and chips. This joint is now Flames Kebab and Fish bar. As they only accept cash, it took me a while to finally visit this place because everything is card these days and I do not shop at the market. Overall, the chips were comforting because there are virtually no chippies in Croydon. The next nearest one would be Castella.

Very tasty fish and chips. Good portion size too. I watched them deal with a couple of very difficult customers today and was impressed by their professionalism. Very friendly staff! Also they apply vinegar with a spray bottle so it gets great coverage on chips... never seen that before but its brilliant.

Fancied Fish 'n' chips tonight. The new fancier place on Beckenham Road was closed so we went here. It was amongst the best I have ever had, hot, fresh, crisp batter, perfectly cooked fish, classic chippy chips. Proper chip shop chips large and not fried in ancient old oil so they taste of potato rather than rancid fat. Plus the fried chicken is as tasty as KFC. Delicious.

Nice decent place with a range of foods for sale, a meal price can vary in cost but in average it will cost between £6-£8 depending on what you order. The portion sizes are decent but I found it to be a bit small for what I ordered and paid. A large cod and large chips, costing £5.50 & £2.30 respectively. See image attached for the portion size I got. It could be that I'm used to portion sizes larger for the price range from where I usually go to. Customer service and experience I had was good friendly staff and place was clean. They offer the ability to eat in, with knife and fork provided with a large plate. Other: they do offer card payment including contactless cards transactions.

Ask for largest box of chips, paid £3.50 and to be honest same amount of chips when I paid £3.00 yesterday. Does 3 scoups and thats it. Chips are very tasty no argument there hence why I returned a 3rd time in 3 days, but I have gone to other chip shops in Croydon and paid the same price and I get so much more for £3.50 You would think I would be a valued customer after spending a few quid there this week on chips..

Ordered through Uber Eats. Didn't take long to arrive. Fish & Chips arrived nice 'n' hot and very good portions. Struggled to finish it. The chicken burger isn't the type of burger I usually like but it was hot too and a decent size. I like fried chicken fillet burger but this was like a breadcrumb flat round burger that you get in the supermarket and that's what gave it 4 stars for me. Never mind. I am likely to order again in the future. Thank you!

Called up to ask if they could resend, extremely poor attitude from staff, told us to come pick up the food instead of them sending someone, after telling them we couldn't do that, they then got angry and hung up and blocked our number. Not exactly customer service 101. Don't order from them.

Nice to find a Fish and Chip shop that sell Rock Salmon.... We ordered take away.... The service was excellent... The batter on the fish was light, crispy and non greasy.... Just the right amount of chips... Good mushy peas..... Will order again...and again.....and again

Friendly staff. Food is fine, with small portion of chips being rather large. Fish is well cooked and tasty. Unassuming exterior, and rather tired interior. Reasonably priced. Will go back.
