Was in here today this kebab place is so life less 🤮

Worse kebab ever 2 bits and threw it 8n tbe bin outside. People avoid this place awful.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Reported to Council food agency to investigate I had a chicken shish wrap last night, the chicken was half pre cooked and left on the side when I ordered he placed back on the girl! How long was it left on the side half cooked out of a fridge I’m not sure for how long then placed on the grill Got confirmed food poisoning Had constant Diarrhoea meet tasted weird but I kept eating it not sure why I did Reported to food agency to be looking into conduct how the food is kept and stored

£11.50 for a Chicken kebab Horrible. Salad was all red cabbage no lettuce, tomatoes or cucumber, giant lumps of onion !! Worst of all the chicken was so over cooked and dry I couldn’t eat it YUK !!!!! Never going there again

Avoid at all costs. Absolutely over priced and disappointing for what it was. Tried charging me £5 extra. Two small donners and a burger £32. Won't be returning.

Second awful takeaway order in 2 weeks, (gave them a second chance) Food was stone cold (kebabs), flames is 2 minutes walk from us , 1 pot of tiny salad for 2 kebabs, hardly any meat, bone in chicken, asked for no pitta but still given to us, and tasted awful, never going to order a take away from flames again .

The best kebab in Hoddeston and the portions are very genorous. The price is really cheap compared to other kebab places ive been to. 100% would recommend

This guys are extremly tight with the portions. I said extra lettuce, he put about four strands in , then took two out😂

£14 kebab ended up in the bin. Didn't like the garlic or chilli sauce and the meat was bland, the chicken was cooked well but I didnt enjoy it, salad is fresh but bland. Pitta bread isn't nice either.

I ordered our diner from flames as a delivery, we live 1 minute away, but could not get out , and it arrived very cold ! Cold burger and chips ! Just not a great service, when normally a great service.

Food quite good although I asked for pitta bread to be separate from the kebab.The pitta was missed off completely.

Lovely food, cooked quickly and just what we wanted. Having a laugh with the staff. My husband has been in here many a time and told me and my sister to try it out.

Flames and my family have a long history, going back 30+ years. I had one of my birthday parties there as a kid, and my sister worked in the bar at the back many, many years ago. Still to this day, Flames and George's are my two favourite places to get a kebab from in Hoddesdon. If I still lived there, I would frequent it more often. The food is good and the staff are friendly

One of the worst kebabs I've had. Ordered a chicken shish and chips. They put the garlic and chilli sauce in pots instead of on the kebab itself?! It was as if the pita had been double toasted, half of it was rock hard and almost broke my teeth. Chicken was tasty but dry. Chips were very average

Rude staff, ordered a kebab was disgusting had no taste, asked for salad gave me very minimal! Avoid unsure how this shop is open !!!! Rip off prices too !!

One star if I could ! Not the first time I’ve had ordered from them. But this time it was an absolute garbage!!! Ordered for delivery 2 large chicken wraps with chips inside and two large chips and I have mentioned JUST SALT !!! My guy over there has decided to play with my chips and to splash a spoon of homemade chilli sauce on the chips. They are literally like a hospital food. The chicken is not even cooked because they are probably busy so they are not waiting for the meat to cook properly. Used 2 meters of paper to cover my wraps. What?! Paid £35 for something that I would never pay even £15 if I was there to see how they prepared my food! Stay away from this place !

Disappointing. Chicken kebab was dry and overcooked. Salad was primarily onion. Soggy chips. Shop service not very friendly. The only plus is that it stays open later after other better kebab shops have closed.

Had chicken doner kebab. They put a lot of spices in the meat because it is not fresh. I went before, and I felt this, but I thought it was a one-time only thing. Unfortunately, it was not.

The kebab is disgusting I took one mouthful and gagged it’s now in the bin and £11 down the drain. Go to Cheshunt the kebabs are delicious!

Was hungry after a night out, granted it was late however they do not close until 12:30am (aparently), walked all the way there with half hour to spare before they shut, just to find a closed kebab house even though they're still saying open online, not happy at all, didn't even get to try the food and already giving a 1 star!

11/10 points for the customer service. Good food. Sharing plater available. My guests were well attended. Good value for money

I went in to flames and asked for a small Donna. No one spoke to me I had to say what I wanted with my Donna I was not told the price before I handed over £20 I received £12 back. £8 for a small Donna that was Luke warm anaemic and not very nice at all .

Thank you to flames kebab for an exceptional 2 Kebabs, chips and 2 drinks which only cost £1 as it was prize they donated to the Marie curie charity, working at the Hoddesdon St George's fate. Top guys, Top food 👍

We don't often have a kebab, and won't be having one from here again. Meat: anemic. Bread: rubbery. Salad: huge chunks of onion and tomatoes, cucumber well past its best.

My go to for a kebab, always good food and great staff.....

Very small portions. Ordered a large lamb doner kebab from them for £7.20, now I've finished it I need to get something for dinner. Disappointing. Only reason it isn't a 1 star is because I was in and out in 2 mins but it probably would have been nice if they actually put the gas on to warm the meat for me. My 2 minute experience made me realise how tight the owner must be

I have been going to Flames as one of my preferred take away places for more than 30 years now and I can't fault them. They offer a large range of kebabs and burgers, all cooked while you wait and served with freshly cut salads and a range of sauces and dressings. (Their chilli sauce is genuinely awesome!) There is also a small dining area and a bar for those who prefer to dine in, but it is predominantly a take away. I have always found all of the staff to be very friendly and the prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. If you haven't tried them yet, I would recommend them to you without any hesitation whatsoever.

I visit Hoddesdon every once and a while and Flames is always my go to place for a bite to eat. Great food, great prices and great staff who are always there to go the extra mile.

Prices made up on the spot. Paid £5 for a few chips. £1.80 on menu.

The food and service is exceptional they dont hover over you and the food oh my god the food I no they do deliveries xx

I have been in flames kebab shop quite a few times, & I think the food in there is really nice and tasty, u can either eat ur food in there or take it away, the staff are ever so friendly in there, it is ever so clean in there, & u get served really quick in there,

Massive chunks of halloumi - not the best. Chunks of tomato, onions and cucumber - prefer it to be chopped finer. Meat looked ok.

Won't be going here again..for some reason they keep doing me out of money..a kebab and quarter pounder with chips for 23 quid.. don't think so..they can do one from now on

Very good for takeaway food. Service pretty good bearing in mind how popular it seems to be. Thought I saw a local celebrity chef actually getting a takeaway!

We have eaten from this place a few times due to the lack of nearby kebab restaurants and it never ceases to surprise us how rubbery and overcooked the meat is. They really have a knack for extracting every ounce of moisture from their shish! It is also overpriced but the owners know that ultimately it doesn't matter as in this town there are no other decent competitors.

Excellent chicken kebab very tasty. Only things they wasnt too hones about the portion or side inclued with. ridiculous charge for eating in £1.50 per persons. Doesnt take card payments.

Been going to flames for 10 years. The guys behind the counter always welcoming and friendly food is cooked very well and tastes great. Maybe not the healthiest option but as an occasional cheat day well worth it.

Lady was very rude, food bland, chilli sauce was poor. Did not feel welcome, the worst kebab shop I've been to!

As far as kebab shops go this is a winner. The food is great and the chips were crispy; the staff were on point and did everything to make our there awesome - and the guys even remembered some from our 'late night, post-party, need a kebab thing' party from years and years ago.

Chips were missing from order, even after I asked them to check it was all there. Then nearly chocked on a bone in my shish

Came here for late night food, was quiet in here but service was efficient, food was tasty but burger could have been cooed slightly longer but maybe that's personal taste rather than rule of thumb. Prices are reasonable and competitive.

Called to ask for delivery was told don’t do delivery, asked why as people have said on reviews you do, then repeated we don’t do delievery. Before I could say ok can I order to collect he put the phone down! Very rude manner that’s a customer you have lost! This happened five mins ago!

Only been in there a few times for take away but recently went late night and ate in WITH A BEER! Didn’t even know they sold it. The staff were ever so nice and the food was great, even on a Sunday night when you’d think it wouldn’t be so great. 5 of us ‘grown ups’ are and got extra chips for being there at the right time! Best bit was, I didn’t know it would be open that late 12ish on a Sunday.

Very good kebabs here.Not the cheapest but the best in the area.Very good meat used and tenderly cooked.

After visiting a few pubs in Hoddesdon, I fancied Flames for something to eat. Ordered my food and what a disappointment. Warm, small portioned n got all the ends of everything. Never going to get another one. Stick to who n what I know. Sorry fellas but must try harder.

Some people love this place I only go there last minute and last choice have onlyvthe burgers since the mode scull incident a few years back staff are not great.

Lovely helpful staff in a cheap and cheerful interior, which doesn't advertise how amazingly tasty and excellent value the food is. Great Turkish kebabs of all types, carefully cooked with complimentary rice and salad. Also good takeaways. Always fresh and tasty food.

Always have a shish kebab when having a takeaway and at this place the chicken always seems quite rubbery. pot luck on the salad too as they often seem to run out of cabbage and chillies. other half has chicken donner which is the most unhealthiest of options. always seems so greasy and fatty but i suppose thats what you expect if you order off the a meat turntable! if your not pushed for time order somewhere else

Arragont non friendly staff, slow service and poor quality food both portion size and taste. Very bland expecially the burgers. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

My girlfriend came down to visit for the weekend so popped in here for a quick take away as I have been here a couple of times before. It was empty so service should have been almost instant but instead I was just ignored while they were grilling something and speaking in their own language. Took two attempts to get there attention and when I did it was as if I was an inconvenience to them. Then I asked if we could have a couple of drinks while we waited , couple of beers or summit , I had to ask twice but still ignored cause obviously my English in my own country isn't good enough for them , so I proceeded to say **** u I don't want ur kebab and left without paying and the chicken sizzling away nicely. Popped to one down the road opposite the Doghouse night club and was respected for spending my money in their shop , tasted lovely too.

I went here very late at night and the staff are still very happy to serve you. The food is tat a very reasonable price and is done very quickly and still at a good quality.

Had kebabs from Waltham cross to Hertford and Flames is one of the best, well cooked meat, nice chilli sauce and friendly staff what more can you want from a kebab shop

We always have our kebabs from here....admittedly it's a chicken shish every time. Always fresh cooked, fast service and friendly staff. Never eaten in, but why woukd you ????

we have had good and average kebabs from here as mentioned in title, midweek usually good salad and freshly cooked kebabs and chips. thursday to sunday, salad seems smaller, meat tougher and chips soggy. makes sense that this is due to being busier at these times but when you pay same price midweek or weekends, seems bit disappointing.

Last minute decision to get a take away having returned to live in Hoddesdon after 27 years. Thought we'd try Flames. Decent kebab except for the chef who was sweating profusely from his forehead. Prices are steep! Much prefer Mega Grill Kebab in Cheshunt: cheaper too!

Their chicken shish is lovely and is always a favourite take away. Not the cheapest for kebabs but they are the 2nd best in Hoddesdon. The staff are generally helpful and the food always tastes fresh.

Been going to flames for years never had a bad meal. Until last night I asked for a large chicken shish, got all the way home opened my kebab to find 3 small bits of chicken cut in half? and cremated, a rock hard burnt pitta bread and one shrivelled up pepper. I went back to the shop and politely said this is not a large and the chicken is so dry and over cooked and there is 1 tiny bit of pepper? so they started speaking in their own language (this is very rude to do this in front of a customer) and then said in a rude tone 'what do you want then' I wasn't going to ask for my money back as I thought it was rude so I said please can I just have another one and then I asked if you get more than one small pepper and 3 small bits of chicken and the man just held up a skewer which was no way a large and you get 1 small bit of pepper?? for a large kebab for nearly £7 what an absolute rip off and what rude people so I asked for my money back and the guy slammed it back in my hand. This must have new management as this place was the best in town...not anymore its horrendous!!

After a late night out its nice to pop in to get hot food kebabs and burgers very tasty chips all things that are bad for you. But are so enjoyable to eat. You just want more
