Fantastic family restaurant. Quality Sunday lunch for 10. Great atmosphere, great wine and nothing too much trouble. Definitely be back.

A hidden gem in Shrewsbury this a lovely restaurant. The staff are attentive but not invasive and the food was excellent. We had a surf and turf sharing board. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, the wine which came with it was also very nice. All in all a highly recommended dining experience. Thank you Flame and Flute!

Don’t bother. We were but 10 minutes late for our 8pm booking when the restaurant called to say we couldn’t come anymore and that the kitchen closed at 8pm!? How can the kitchen close when we were booked for dinner at 8pm? We were also never told that the table would not be saved if we were late for our reservation when it was made. In reality, the restaurant was probably empty and staff wanted to go home which doesn’t say much about the place on a Friday night at busy dinner time during the Christmas lead up. Not sorry to say, we’ll not be bothering in the future. Very poor.

The sharing Surf and Turf was fantastic. Sirloin cooked to our liking. Desert Sticky toffee and Panacotta for dessert, Yummy 😋 Very polite, pleasant member of staff on duty.

We came for our staff party, the service was amazing and the food was show in that! We had several gluten free who were catered for and a gluten and dairy free who had their own separate board which was delicious! Highly recommend for their 5 star food and service, nothing but high quality. Thank you Liam and Mary-Anne

The service was friendly and the food absolutely first-rate. Can recommend the Ploughman’s which is loaded with cheese, really top notch ham, and lovely crusty bread. Would have loved to stay for cake but we were all too full.

we always try to come here when we can get in and don’t fancy cooking one ourselves. the meat selection is always good and very generous, their roast potatoes are the best - lovely and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. it is a carvery so can help yourself. they unfortunately don’t have any mash but we just add extra roasties! their gravy is lovely and homemade with the meat juices in. the staff are lovely and attentive. our favourite place to go for sunday lunch!

We booked for dinner as we knew the White Lion had reopened for food with a new chef. We were not disappointed the food was delicious, we had the rib eye steak, the sea bass special and the penne vodka. All were beautifully cooked and served. The service was great and the staff were friendly. We will definitely be eating here again.

We are regular visitors to the Red Lion in Myddle. We return every time because the food and service is second to none. We always receive a warm welcome and we know how hard Pete and Jackie and staff work to make sure that their guests are not disappointed. If you fancy a meal out around Shrewsbury (lunch or dinner) then look no further than the Red Lion. You won’t regret it.
