Fizz & Pearl in Edinburgh, City of

Let me preface this by saying that we did have an okay time at this establishment. We were greeted and seated quickly, told there was table service and the server checked in on us fairly quickly. After his shift ended, it kind of all changed for the worse. There was not a lot of people there, and quite a lot of servers, however it almost seemed like our table was avoided. While the wife went off to do a bit of shopping I figured I could have a drink and enjoy a bit of sun on a day where the forecast said rain. After finishing my drink, my empty glass was on the table for 40 minutes without anyone coming by even though they passed by frequently. I finally flagged someone down from a group of servers having a conversation, and I got a new drink. After this happening a couple more times, we decided to move on. Getting the check was also basically the same thing, a group of servers having a conversation so I went up to them. Most of them didn't even react when I asked for the check, but one very nice lady helped me out. Really hope this changes as I enjoyed the location, music and selection.

Really disappointing. Went in this afternoon for a drink, we were seated very quickly and told that it would be table service. There were barely any filled tables in there but many staff, yet we didn’t get served. After about 20-30 minutes watching the staff chatting amongst themselves we decided to leave. Will not be returning.

My friend and I had lovely cocktails in this venue. The fact that the area is "covered in" for the cold weather made it exceptionally inviting and comfortable to sit in. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Would thoroughly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Drinks were astonishing and the food was great especially the arancinis. Definitely worth another visit! Thanks!

Security guy at the 'door' was fab, staff were useless. After at least a 20 minute wait and seeing other tables who arrived after us get served first we left. Bad craic when security are having to tell wait staff how to do their jobs so he could get people seated!

Staff are lethargic and unaattentive despite their being tons of them leading to a cold and unfriendly service.

We got to Edinburgh and needed somewhere to eat before going to our AirBnB. This was right beside the Waverly Station and we were allowed in without a reservation. It's big on alcoholic drinks but I don't drink and I was with my teenage daughter, so can't comment on the drinks but we had the loaded fries and it was so good, we went there a second time. They have an extensive food and drink menu but that was what we had both times. Affordable too. Also seems quite popular as it was always busy.

Went here on our last of our vacation. A very popular place. In a central location. Located on the roof of the Waverley Mall. Opposite Princes Street and next door to Waverley Train Station. Bus and Tram Stops located within walking distance. Great way to see Edinburgh is catching a Bus with Edinburgh Bus Tours. They start and finish from St Andrews Square. Which is 5 to 10 minute walking distance from here.

Dropped in here for a couple of drinks. This bar is outdoors, near Waverley Station and Princes Street and a great place to watch the world go by. We were quickly shown to our seats but table service was pretty slow. Drinks once ordered were typical city centre prices and there was lots of room between tables. Unfortunately had to visit the toilets, which are portacabins between two bar areas and were grim to say the least. They looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned for an age. Not a good idea in these health sensitive days. This bar is in a great location, but more effort needs to be made to tempt customers back.

My friend and I had two gins and tonic here. Lovely relaxing peaceful place to sit and enjoy. Staff exceptionally friendly and professional. Would thoroughly recomend.

Wanted to sit in the sun (a rare occurrence in Edinburgh) was told its too much work to change tables! Not chuffed!

Called in for a few drinks, it was a really nice place. We spent a couple of hours here, drinks are a bit dearer here, but the venue was great. Track and trace on entry, as per every venue these days, don't know why they use a private company for this, and not the NHS Scotland track and trace that most other venues use. Overall a fab few hours here.

Great place to sit with friends on a sunny day and enjoy a drink. Not the cheapest of bars but certainly a place to enjoy the sun and relax. The on line check in & out is ideal

I would imagine a new bar/restaurant providing outside (only) seating during the pandemic. Right beside Waverley Station and the Scott Monument. Nicely appointed throughout. Good social distancing and all staff in masks. It was a delight to sit out in the sun (I know!!!) on a cool August evening enjoying an enormous rhubarb Edinburgh Gin and Tonic. Pricey but you pays your money and takes your choice!

My friend and I wanted to go for a cocktail at this venue, but the sign at the entrance said had to use an app. As neither my friend nor I have a smartphone, I asked a member of staff (Colin) if there was a way round this. He said there was, and just saw us to a table and took our details. We then enjoyed two cocktails each. Thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back. Would thoroughly recommend.

This is an excellent venue to relax in while enjoying one of their delicious cocktails. Staff very friendly and professional.Would thoroughly recommend this place.
