Five West in Argyll & Bute

One of the friendliest cafes I've ever visited. Very warm welcome and great service - we only popped in for a quick coffee and left with some free takeaway baked potatoes!! Looking forward to my next visit.

Stopped off and what a great cafe, very warm welcome, great service and the decor is really cool. Home made soup and baguettes where fresh, quality of the meat and fillings was very good. Highly recommend.

Wonderful little cafe but only open at the weekend seasonally. It has a quirky feel to it but the drinks and food are excellent, and the staff outstanding. All you can ask for in a small I dependent cafe

We have used Five West a few times in the last few years and always had a great experience. Sadly yesterday wasn't so good, we ordered takeaway salad boxes and the boxes were overpriced for the poor quality salad inside. Compared to previous salad box take aways from here which were always fantastic we were left hungry and disappointed this time.

We had such a lovely lunch here at Five West yesterday, it's the most perfect cafe. Delicious home cooked food and such a warm and cosy place with the friendliest people. It's beautifully decorated as well, very quirky. We loved it and will definitely be back again. Thank you!

We had lunch here a couple of times whilst holidaying in the area. Positives: nice home made soup, coffee from Argyll Coffee Roasters and cakes from Wild Kitchen - yummy! Negatives: some tables are very close together, a large area of the main dining area is given over to children’s play (can be noisy), took a long time to order and receive our food, menu quite short, even for lunch There are not many other snacky lunch options in Tighnabruaich so you will probably find yourself visiting Five West. I think it could do with some competition to help raise its game.

Visited twice over one weekend, extensive range of food, coffee not bad. Friendly service. Good for children and dogs so some very noisy playing with toys going on

Had previously enjoyed coming here. Poor experience today. The server looked completely unenthusiastic and it took some time to have our order taken and then for the food to be prepared. Behind counter staff were off hand and not welcoming. A pity because previously this cafe has been impressive.

Must have gone on a bad day!! Tables too close together for comfort in this day and age. Cappucinos were cool. Toasted sandwiches tasty but sitting in fluid from salad dressing so quite soggy. Waitress seemed quite harassed. Not a welcoming atmosphere. On expensive side for what it was.

We visited the area, whilst on holiday. Came across this lovely cafe! A very friendly welcome, even dog friendly, so our Cockapoo was able to join us. They cater for GF too, which was great for my Husband. We all had lovely toasted sandwiches and amazing cakes with coffee. Would definitely visit again, if we are ever this way again!! Thank you for making our day so lovely

A lovely, friendly atmosphere ran by very helpful and joyful people. We ordered soup and a Caesar wrap and they were so delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again if we were in the area.

What a lovely place to eat.Food was very tasty,fresh and excellent hot bowl of soup.Great value as our sandwiches were well and truly filled with plenty of ham and cheese.Icing on the cake was the high standard of service from the two young and pleasant servers.

Gerne hätte ich eine Bewertung zu Tee und Sandwich geschrieben, aber nachdem wir zu einen nur rasch entkrümelten Tisch geführt wurden haben wir das Lokal nach weiteren 20 Minuten verlassen. Der Bedienung war wohl ein Plausch mit der Küche wichtiger als eine Bestellung aufzunehmen. Schade…

Excellent friendly service. As I had ordered hummus they checked I wasn’t vegan as the pesto accompanying it wasn’t vegan. Food was tasty and fresh.

What a wonderful place. Don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere where the staff are so nice. We brought our wee dog in and sat in the window and the lady serving us was so lovely. So lovely Inside. Food was really lovey. Just a prefect little place. I’ll be back.

Nipped in here for a takeaway whilst staying at Portavadie campsite. Was lovely! Nice, friendly staff. Really nice menu choices - not somewhere if you want a bacon roll ;) Tomato and basil soup was tasty and the tuna rolls were lovely. Would recommend.

we came across Five west by accident looking for a coffee break coming from the ferry heading for Bute. Superbly situated on the Kyles of Bute, with excellent service and delicious coffee and cakes. What really sets it apart is the eccentric and quirky decor with lots of shabby chic. Corporate it is not!!!

What a gem! Very family & dog friendly & had the most delicious, wholesome, homemade food. Reasonably priced too. I’d highly recommend

A lovely place to stop for a coffee or some homemade lunch. Lovely hosts, excellent coffee - the best decaffeinated coffee I've ever tasted - apparently they blend it themselves directly from coffee procured from the Argyll Coffee Company. Lovely space for families with young ones. Lovely loos too.

This is just the most lovely cafe, with the most wonderful friendly staff. The coffee is great, and the soup delicious. They also do cakes, sandwiches and salads. Highly recommended.
