Five Rivers in Erewash

I have been to many restaurants in the years and have never found one that cooks close to my own in terms of quality and quantity. The food was very flavourful and piping hot on arrival. We were very happy with the food and will be returning soon.

Wouldn’t order again. The food tasted really bland and wasn’t what I was expecting from a 5 star establishment. I was particularly underwhelmed with the madras which was labelled as ‘hot’ but was tasteless and the Punjabi Garlic Mushroom which did not look anything like it was described. The garlic & cheese naan did not contain any cheese or garlic.

The Biryani is not what we got. Frozen peas and carrots, rice it's like a soup or casserole. Tasteless and like a biryani

The chicken in my korma were huge pieces!! Quite small portion of rice. Everything was very very tasty and hot!

Very disappointing food!! We ordered 3 different curry's between us but the sauce was exactly the same in each one. We won't be coming back, that's for sure 👎🏼👎

Very nice. Arrived right on time, but it was an early order time wise. The Dansak had a nice kick to it, and it was nice and hot too..

Food was luke warm and sauce was a bit watery, tasted nice enough once I reheated

The food was horrid the rice looked like it was sat in the container for a long period of time , the Nan was like a brick because of it was stone cold , I’m sorry but I will definitely not be ordering here again as for having over 4 star lol I wouldn’t give you even one !!! So disappointed most of the food went in the bin

I pre ordered our family meal and it arrived absolutely on time. The food, as always was exquisite, piping hot, perfectly cooked, the lamb was juicy and tender, and the meat in all dishes was plentiful and delicious. I am very fussy about Indian food and it was second to none. The staff are helpful, polite and friendly. Had cause to call them back because of an error (on my part) and they were great and so helpful and round on a flash. Couldn't recommend more. 10 out of 10 as always 5 Rivers 👍🏻

We rate Five Rivers its the BEST Indian food (not only in Ilkeston) we have had. Its very easy web site coupled with Just Eat Delivery is fantastic. Could not fault the food but if I could change one thing it would be the Curry Sauce that comes with the Tandoori Mixed grill. (it would be nice to have a choice).

The tandoori mix grill was very tasty and a large portion. The food arrived hot and well cooked.

Great food and very tasty. Excellent service as one of our rices was missing and we didnt even realise before a second driver turned up and delivered it to us.

Visited for the first time after a trip to Nottingham, short walk from the no 2 bus stop. Can't believe we've not been here before. Great service, staff fabulous, good food and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend lamb tikka which came with curry sauce, rice and nan bread. Oh last but not least, the pickle tray! Will definitely be back, thank you!!

Prawn masala was salad prawns just a handful I expected king prawns not salad prawn more sauce than anything so I think it's well over priced for what you got for £7.95 will not order that dish again if I was eating in I've of returned it but due to a hip replacement I can't get about yet

Just visited here with my work colleagues. There was 17 of us altogether and we were well looked after by Steve the owner and his wife. The food was excellent as always and everyone really enjoyed their various dishes. Will be returning very soon can't praise this place enough.

A great place to start or end your evening. Always great food, made how you want it. If you like flavours they have the food, or if you want heat too they'll happily oblige.

A very enjoyable meal. You can tell that the curries are made from quality ingredients, with big chucks of tasty Chicken breast throughout. The flavours were interesting too. Full marks Five Rivers, and thanks for the extra chips too.

Garlic chilli lamb served in what can only be described as gravy. I’ve never had Indian food this poor. The naans we’re indistinguishable and we ordered garlic and cheese and the house special. Absolutely no taste in the whole meal whatsoever. NO EXAGGERATION. Not a happy customer.

Taste wise it was great, a lot of chunky meat but both dishes were extremely watery, they leaked off my plates. I have ordered a chicken tikka masala from a different place and never had that issue. Garlic Nan wasn’t garlic flavoured at all. I also had some random poppadom bits inside the delivery bag but did not order any. Shame really

Very disappointing. My mushroom puri had a distinct lack of mushroom but an abundance of chicken... Which I can't eat!

I really wanted to leave a better review but can`t .On a plus note food was piping hot and delivered on time ,however I chose a biryani which are usually mild ,today it was so spicy i didn`t enjoy it,the onion bhajis were flat and soft not like the crispy ones we get elsewhere .My husbands tandoori was tasteless ,something we could have got at a kebab shop ,just feel it was overpriced for the quality ,sorry

First time and last! Both curry dishes was watery, chicken didn’t taste nice at all. Rice was like basmati with turmeric, not pilu. Could do a better curry out of a jar, very disappointed

Cold main meal,missed off a rice

Decided to try this after reading all the good reviews, really disappointed - chicken tikka masala was watery, rice was clumpy and looked microwaved. Naan and popadoms were ok. Might be better when eating in.

Worst Biryani we’ve ever had, cold frozen veg in the most disgusting sauce.

Curry tasted a bit strange, not as creamy as usual. Everything else was perfect!

Came in to eat a few weeks ago food was amazing orders the same food online food came nothing like what we had in the restaurant biriani was nothing like the sauce looked like baby food samosa soft chips cold tryed to call several times no answer worst food ever ordered will keep food and expect refund

No apology for delivery being nearly 25 minutes late, curry’s tasted bland and looked like it had just been microwaved. Shop bought would have been better.

Unfortunately I ordered a bottle of Cobra, but it didn’t arrive with the order. I questioned it with the driver who looked at the receipt and said it was missing, he said he’d try and drop it off for me, but over an hour has passed and still nothing. Im a bit disappointed, but you owe me the cost off the next order at least.

Order lots from this place and never had a single issue. Yesterday, the food arrived cold, not even warm, I mean stone cold. Restaurant is only 2 mins away too. Hopefully this is just a one off.
