Five Fox Lane in Leicester

Absolutely loved the place! Especially their fudge cake. Would highly recommend this place. I will definitely come back here again!

🥹I think I’ve just found my next favourite cafe🥹 My first thought when my sister took me down a side street in the centre of town was “ what dingy place has this Gen Z found?” But I couldn’t be any further from the truth. Truth be told I opened the doors to 5 fox lane and immediately I felt at home. The comfortable atmosphere, with its up-to-date interior decor, it felt like I was in Bristol- which if you know me you know I love my family run quaint coffee shops. This place would be perfect for dates and the warm and friendly staff make sure to go out of their way to help you. I completely customised my avocado on toast and had it with poached eggs and sliced avocado instead of mushed, on a brown seeded bread. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them as they made my sister a fresh plain cheese toastie which wasn’t on the menu! After having a delicious hot chocolate and for myself a mocha, our food arrived promptly. It was heavenly and absolutely perfect for a little cafe! The plate could have been decorated with a little bit of greenery ( finely chopped parsley or some chilli flakes and it ((the colours would make the food look absurdly good)) but I know that’s just me being picky as this would not change the taste of the food! They definitely don’t skim out on their servings and their stringy cheese toastie really satisfied my sister! I will definitely be back because there is nothing quite like Five Fox Lane. I simply did not have a room in my stomach for the sausage rolls or any of their desserts but being as cheap as chips are most definitely will do next time.

This coffee shop is a hidden gem, I really enjoyed my visit to the Five Fox, love the decor inside and great to take pictures. The service was excellent and lots of room for seating inside and outside.

Popped in with my mum for something to eat this afternoon. I had a cheese and ham panini with coleslaw a diet Coke and a peppermint slice for dessert. My mum had a cheese toastie with coleslaw tea and a mini sponge cake for dessert. The panini was tasty the diet Coke was nice and cold and the peppermint slice was delicious. 5* all round would recommend to friends

First visit here with 3 friends lovely place service was friendly lots lovely cakes my friends enjoyed bit sadly none gluten free has am am coeliac but I enjoyed my jacket potato.The place is spotless the staff was working hard cleaning tables and counters keeping the place so clean. Definitely will be back thankyou

I ordered a sandwich which unfortunately was not to my taste. However I would like to say thank you the manager for refunding me as I wasn’t happy . Being in business myself, customer service is really important for me. I will go back again and this time try something which I know I’ll like and be safe with. Lovely atmosphere

Very quiet seeing it was lunch time, but food was good and came quickly.

Excellent service from smiling happy staff great cakes and lovely coffee, chilled out atmosphere to spend an hour while in Leicester City.

After a couple of hours shopping in town, myself and friend Janice was ready for a very welcomed cup of tea and lunch , where else better than Five Fox Lane, staff are all friendly and welcoming, food is delicious.

Service was very slow, On a plus coffee was very nice

Visited for the first time today. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We had a cake and hot drink, all were delicious. I love the look and feel of the cafe too. Looking forward to coming back.

Really disappointing. Visited today for breakfast with our grandson, Looked really nice inside at first, accessibility for buggies very poor. The breakfast was really NOT good ,first plate served with time for eating the food before the next one arrived! They have no idea how to poach an egg, completely solid, all four of them! Coffee way too strong as well. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back I’m afraid. Not a good experience.

Went here in my lunch break, stood at the counter for nearly 15 minutes and was not served. The member of staff was serving the person in front me and preparing their drinks. Even though I could see 3 other staff members in the kitchen.. Doing what? Terrible way of working to have only 1 member of staff working at lunch period. Will not be going there again.

We are not from Leicester so this was a great find for lunch whilst on a shopping trip. Good food, cooked freshly and a reasonable price.

Not sure where to start, what a wonderful place. My best friend treated me to afternoon tea and from the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with exceptional customer service. The atmosphere was buzzing and attention detail spot on. The food was amazing, we wasn't rushed and had a booth to our self not just sat on a table for 2. If you would like somewhere special to treat a loved on I highly recommend coming here. Thank you to the team wonderful experience.

For was average at best,service was absolutely terrible, will not be visiting again,what looked like a promising breakfast place turned out to be nothing but good looks as service and food was unpleasant.

A nice peacefully spot just off the main street. Food is good with the sausage roll being better than Greggs in my opinion. The outside seating area is is nice to sit in

Went for a cheeky bacon crusty cob and coffee breakfast. Quiet when I arrived. Food gorgeous, as was the coffee. Staff friendly. Now I have seen the cakes will return for coffee and cake!

Service was good, did not like Very large glass cups,Normally love a nice carrot cake but their cake very sickly need cream or something with it.

I arrived at the location when it was going to close in 10 min. My daughter started crying because she wanted pancakes🥞 only from there. The owner let us stay and served us waffles. 🧇 Friendly and kind staff.

Was a lovely afternoon after a mix up with my booking the staff jumped into action and in 30 mins had put on a spread fit for a Queen. Food was fab and plenty of it. Made Shonas hen party a very special occasion.

The only thing that let you down today was the wait for the drinks, which I can only assume was a new person driving the coffee machine. As there was numerous other staff behind the counter. Failing that hiccup keep up the great work and my reason for today's visit ... my wife's lemon split bun !

Tables need cleaning more than once a day

Very nice food and drinks. We had Victoria sponge cake and hot chocolate. Cream can wasn't working, but did everything to fix it then hand whipped some Cream for our drinks. Very helpful Staff. Worth a visit

Had brunch here yesterday. Lovely place. Really enjoyedy sausage and egg sandwich and big cup of tea

Tea was possibly the worst tea I had ever had. Staff rude & unprofessional. Tea cake was burnt & tasteless. Toilet was dirty.

I absolutely love this place! Great food and amazing breakfast, quality ingredients! The crusty cobs are also delish as is the fresh soup and coffee. Always served with a smile. I go in regularly. X

Came for an afternoon tea treat for mothers day, thoroughly enjoyed our visit (our 1st visit to you) we will definitely be back! The selection on the afternoon tea was delicious. I've never had such fresh sandwiches anywhere before, the bread was so soft. The selection of mini cakes was ample, as were the scones. Presentation was lovely. Very accommodating with the extra plate of goodies you provided for my son as an extra besides our paid for afternoon tea. Only slight disappointment was being served with a pot of tea each rather than being offered a choice of tea or coffee with the afternoon tea, but that's purely because I don't drink tea! I ordered a coffee separately to have with my afternoon tea instead.

Me and my dad ordered two english breakfasts and lattes. Lattes were very nice. They brought out my dad’s breakfast and presumed mine was on the way but 6 mins passed he asked where it was and they said they forgot about it. Promptly came out with my breakfast, which was steaming hot (obviously cooked fresh!!!) and the lovely lady was so apologetic. I was given a free rocky road as a sorry. Best rocky road i’ve ever tasted!!!! The breakfast itself was the best english breakfast i’ve had. The eggs were perfect and the sausages were so delicious. Will definitely be returning. Lovely lady who apologised to me had brown hair, glasses and seemed in her 30s (sorry I didn’t get your name but you are so kind please make sure she gets the recognition she deserves!! We came in on march 4th if this helps) Everyone makes mistakes as we are all human, mistake was made up for in a positive and lovely manner. Great food, great atmosphere. Definitely try this cafe out! whenever i’m in leicester i will be coming to this place.

We came here for lunch, they had a whole plant based menu, unfortunately they'd ran out of the toppings for the jacket potato I wanted but offered beans as a topping instead. The potato was perfect, crispy outside and fluffy inside. Everyone was very friendly and the inside is gorgeous, absolutely our new lunch spot!

I come to five fox lane cafe whenever i am in town. The customer service is amazing. The food is delicious and fresh, the drinks made to perfection. The atmosphere of the cafe is warm and inviting. Its the best place to have an amazing breakfast, lunch and tea. Or even for a nice cuppa.

Popped in here for a coffee and bite to eat whilst Christmas shopping. I had the best cheese salad crusty roll, it was delicious. I will be going here every time I go to Leicester from now on. Such a fab place, a real hidden gem, but right in the centre of Leicester.

Went for midweek afternoon tea. Absolutely excellent service and food. The Victoria sandwich cake was the best I've had in years. Looking forward to going again soon.

Beautiful place, lemon split buns remind us of the previous cafe in the building. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only missing one star due to it not having disabled access so we had to sit outside.

12 august 2022 Came today for afternoon tea for my 50th birthday with mum and Aunty my 2nd time coming here absolutely fabulous afternoon tea cannot recommend it enough my mum and auntie are coming Again on Wednesday and me on the 20th

Online it says it closes at 18:30 and we came and sat for 5 minutes to be told it’s shutting at 16:30. Very irritated as I wanted to sit down and get some work done. Wouldn’t have come otherwise and staff didn’t tell us until they took our business. Disappointing

Lovely place for a coffee or snack and has fond echoes of the previous cafe that stood here.

This was a Brucciani many years ago. In a quite spot with plenty of indoor and smaller area outside. The tables were very wobbly the first time we went but seem to have been fixed now.

I didnt enjoy what they made me chicken salad wanst nice alot of lettuce no tomato or onion the stuff wanst friendly .only thing was good the tea .

Lovely secluded cafe at the site of the old Bruccianis. Lovely latte and a sumptuous bacon and fried egg bap. Delish. Lovely decor. Friendly staff. Indoor access via steps - only 3 steps but not wheelchair friendly. Has seating outside though.

Walked by and fancied the strawberry and cream frappucino labelled at £3.95 on the sign. Ordered and was told it was £4.30 before the lady walked away. Obviously I didn't pay and asked if it was extra for take away. She said no the extra charge was for cream on top which I was never asked about. I then said no cream please and was charged £3.55. I walked away with a just strawberry frappuccino, clearly i was no longer allowed the cream flavouring either. I think the staff need to read there own menu and learn better customer service. Charging extra without asking is disgusting. Will never visit again and I hope others take there business elsewhere. How many people who are unable to read the sign do they add additional charges to. All I can think about is the number of people they rip of each day doing this.

Lovely Mother's Day afternoon tea.

Gorgeous little cafe in what used to be Bruccianis. Very friendly and welcoming staff including the owner. Went for an afternoon tea for a friends baby shower, very reasonable at 14 pounds and they threw in a complimentary glass of prosecco. Decor is beautiful too 💓 thank you five fox lane 🦊

I was looking to visit this place for a while (since the opening really) and decided to take my mum today for some pre Mother’s Day lunch. We went for an easy option - jacket potatoes and I need to say it was so disappointing. My mum had Cajun chicken and had to scoop the chicken to the side and eat plain potato as it was not very nice, there was also no butter. I had bbq pulled chicken which itself in a flavour was okay, but it was cold. I never came across a place that serves cold bbq pulled pork on jacket potato 😬. Coffee tasted ok, not froth but I can live with that. We have decided not to stay for the cake after that.

This coffee shop is a hidden gem, I really enjoyed my visit to the Five Fox, it was sumptuously decorated inside giving a feeling of luxury to my tea break unlike most of the other drab coffee shops around Leicester. There is an excellent selection of cakes and biscuits along with an extensive lunch menu. Lots of room for seating and some outside tables too, I will definitely be going again and recommending it to my friends and family.

Food was average at best but my coffee was nice. I had a jacket potato with chilli but there wasn't much seasoning in the chilli and the potato was very dry. The salad was a bit sad too.

Looks great from the outside. Plastic plants in the inside though, terrible music, disinterested staff, misleading signs and average beverages that are grossly overpriced. Glad not to have ordered any overpriced food. Highly unlikely ever to return.

First visit here. A few steps up to cafe so probably not suitable for wheelchairs. Very good refurbishment since Brucciani owned it. Very good selection of breakfasts and light lunches. The jacket potato was full flavour with a good side salad. Staff were very friendly and service swift. Can recommend this independent business - please support!

Best Ham salad cobs in Leicester!! Spotlessly clean, great friendly staff, rather eat and drink here than in Costa or Cafe Nero anyway!!

I used to go here as a child when it was Bruciannas and so have fond memories. The place has changed its name and decor but the feel is still the same. It's a great place to stop off for a drink and the cakes are lovely. The staff are friendly and the whole place has a welcoming feel and is clean and tidy

Had a breakfast- I won’t again. Bacon so hard! One mushroom , scrambled egg was such a small amount it must have been made with one egg ! But the thing that really gets to me was the lady taking the order. She was just so miserable. Please do not go into the hospitality business if you can’t even smile and say hello. I will never ever go in there again !!

Love this place, a great coffee shop. It would be nice if the noisy milkshake maker could be moved, it's impossible to hold a conversation when it is operating.

Lovely friendly team, nice coffees and cakes, fun decor and a gorgeous spot for some autumn sunshine.

Had a oat latte and oat flat white, both were awful, no froth and it is possible to get froth with oat milk. Only vegan option was avocado toast, and the pastry was dry. The place looks lovely but food and drinks were not.

Music a bit loud for us oldies.....

Pleasantly surprised. Went for lunch with mum and fancied a jacket potato. Came in and loved the layout as decoration. Ordered the food which initially seemed a tad expensive (£16. Something for two potatoes a coffee and a bottle of water) however, when the food came the price was well worth it. Food was great and most importantly mum loved it. Special mention to the coffee and the coleslaw, both elevated the experience today. If I had to clutch at straws to criticise the cafe is that i asked one of the waitress’ about the coffee and she said she would ask a manager and never came back to me. And they serve cutlery in wrapped tissue with is a personal bug bare or mine. But all in all would recommend.

I went in to grab a drink and a bit to eat before my sugar leave drop. I'm a vegan, Dairy free and wheat free. I ordered coffee and asked if they have any other milk besides dairy. I got offer soya, lovely but what happens when that doesn't agree with you. I ask if they had anything to eat for vegans. I got told they do a vegan sandwich that's it. I said great thank you..... however the bread was wheat. The ladies where getting Annoyed with me and my question. Wonderful.

Very disappointed - bad customer service . Received totally different thing that ordered - received cheaper meal then ordered and had to eat it cold and staff was very rude, and would not acknowledge their fault. Never coming again. Do not recommend.

Perfect place to go for a coffee and lunch. All the staff are lovely. The service is brilliant and the food quality is the best. I ordered the jacket potato tuna mayo with tea and it tasted lovely. I would recommend this litlle cafe to anyone it is in tge heart of town just on a quiet corner.

Great place to go for Lunch. Service was quick and friendly and food was lovely. I had the Jacket Potato Tuna Mayo was nice with tea. Everyone was on point and gave amazing food and service. I would definitely recommend. It a small cafe from outside but big decor in the inside.
