Caffè Nero in Leicester

We were served by Dee she was very approachable and extremely kind, we ordered 1 latte and 1 cappuccino that was well made and quick. 👌

Great customer service in this coffee ☕️ shop & the other one on High Street from all the lovely 😻 creatures.

The place was closing in the next half an hour so the food we asked for wasn't available at that time. Wasn't that friendly.

I had a very nice experience today. The barista (the girl with scarf) was very kind, it was very refreshing to have a top notch customer service. Will visit again for a nice cup of coffee.

I went to get coffee on way to work. I scanned the app and paid. Barista said something but I didn't her so said pardon, then she took my phone and left herself a 5 star review on my caffe nero app, she gave my phone back and took the order of next person in line. I was shocked by this

Cleanliness is not great. The tables are sticky and often left uncleared.

Lazy staff would rather stand around talking to each other rather than serving customers or cleaning tables. They also let non-customers use the toilet all the time, not because they are being nice, it's because they don't care. After waiting 45 mins for a non-customer to exit the toilet I gave up waiting and went elsewhere

Difficult one to rate. I arrived in Leicester on the train and made my way to the centre. I stopped here and found a small queue but with only one lady serving. Two ladies had a huge order, and two men were in front of me. The lady serving was excellent, efficient with good customer service. I heard her say a colleague had popped out to a shop. She finished serving the two ladies, one man had left ostensibly because he'd been waiting too long then she served me and the other man simultaneously. At this point the other staff member bowled up and it seemed she'd popped to a handbag shop and recommended the other lady go there too for some bargains. I was served my coffee, sat down ate my food and left. The poor scores are no reflection on the lady who was in the store and served us all excellently. Quite obviously if two people had been in the shop the queue would have moved faster, and the other gentleman wouldn't have felt the need to adios elsewhere. Not great really.

I'm actually disgusted by how poor the service, cleanliness, and atmosphere were in here. Tables ALL unclean and sticky. Crumbs all over the floor. I waited nigh on 20mins for 2x Frozen Mango & Passion fruit drinks. Customers were very much an afterthought in here, and if I had my way, I'd be cleaning house on the staff and starting again. It screams complacency, and I'm merely picking up a salary.

I visited the store at 56 Gallowtree Gate, Leicester (LE1 1DA) around 18:05, 16 July 2024, to collect a TGTG Sweet & Pastry bag. One lady customer was waiting to collect her TGTG bag. Waitress A slowly packed the pastries and operating the cash/menu machine. She seemed waiting for messages from her phone. Another waitress B was flirting with a waiter C, while customers were waiting in queue. After waitress B finished flirting, she came to the till and took the order of the customer before me. I already waited for about 10 minutes. When it was my turn, waitress A told me that no bag was left. I asked her whether she gave the previous lady the wrong bag, as mine was a pastry bag and hers may be a sandwich bag. She said she checked. She insisted not her fault, but blamed the computer system. She said it used to be one bag left but three customers came, which meant this happened before but they never learnt the lesson and change anything. The waitresses could have prepared the bags before customers arrive. If no food left, just cancel the order to save customer’s time and trouble coming to the store. No problem at all. This only shows poor planning and poor customer services. Instead, waitress A insisted “not her fault”. No apologies at all for the inconvenience caused to the customers. The store manager is responsible to this poor management and staff training. This incident really showed how this store disrespects customers and customers' time. All these show the poor management and customer experience at the store at 56 Gallowtree Gate, Leicester (LE1 1DA).

Very cost effective Nice coffee

I walked in and upstairs there were no clean tables to sit at. When I approached the till the two workers were just standing and chatting (despite the dirty tables) The service from the staff was poor - no politeness, no glimpse of a smile -almost felt pressured into takeaway as it felt like she didn’t want me to disturb and sit in. I waited a while for my item to be warmed up - whilst your other cafe neros say ‘take a seat’, but I just waited as the baristas chatted. When it was done she just put it down in front of me, didn’t say anything, such as ‘enjoy’ - Would have been nice if I took a seat and they brought it over as I had shopping bags and a drink - not as if they were busy cleaning the dirty tables as they were just chatting!! They clearly don’t care about their job, even if you don’t it doesn’t take much to smile and be polite to customers. Not great service and made to feel unwanted. I also came the other day - at 9.10 am and doors were locked it says you open at 9. Your other stores in the city centre are way better.

I was there for coffee in the morning, the coffee wasn't tasty and the toilets were closed, there was a hole in the wall downstairs, it wasn't very pleasant to look at.

I drank it twice and both times the coffee was tasteless.

I visit Cafe Nero because the coffee is the best. However almost every time I visit this branch (or others in Leicester) I get charged for a large, when only ordering a regular. It's very annoying and I take the hit every time because I usually only notice once I've paid (and don't want to fluster the already-flusteted staff). I'm guessing it is something to do with the till, it's too regular to be a coincidence, however it seems to be the new staff or trainees that are doing it. I can't blame the staff, who are trying. The problem I feel, lies in the training.

Good place to chill out with your friends and family for a good coffee. Being a 3 network customer, I get one free coffee every week which is good. Place looks decent and the customer service is appreciable.

Staff awesome (the single person Who was on the till) but whoever owns this place is just after money. New Year’s Day, one member of staff serving - downstairs closed and we couldn’t get a proper table for ages even though there was an entire empty floor. Nobody to help to clean up, just a dump like high street. Will go to Pret around the corner, well staffed and clean. On the plus side, the barista was always pleasant, not phased by the busyness which is good service.

I like your Loughborough and Leicester Haymarket and nice clean and friendly staff and clean toilets and I. Like one high one street Leicester City center and give staff and place 10/10 for cleanses from garry whiting from Leicester

Visited Saturday pm, and there were a few tables free. There is outside seating to. Additional seating available downstairs and w.c. I think the drinks here are a little more expensive than other coffee shops but worth it as they seem a bit more luxurious. The shelves for food and soft drinks were well stocked. The Downside is slow service, and tables needed cleaning down with used cups collecting.

The staff didn't manage to clean the tables after the customers because they were really busy. Every time I visit your cafe I notice that the tables are not cleaned, they are full of used glasses. I don't consider this a fault of the staff because I see them working nonstop.

It's not bad, it handles the flavors.

Service was fairly quick, we had a latte and a hot chocolate. My son wanted a luxury hot chocolate bit they'd run out of Belgian chocolate or something. We had a cookie, which was pretty good, and some blueberry muffin cheesecake which was pretty dry, and was smaller than the pieces they had on display. Overall, it was ok, but overpriced

Walked in here twice in the last month and both times, staff have been ignorant and talking amongst themselves before asking for my order. When placing my order, both times get an abrupt response " sorry out of stock" which was quite rude. Also went to the caffe Nero near Oliva's bar and the staff there were the same.

Just asked for a teaspoon. They didn't have...they said. So there was just a wooden stick...checking the other customers...a few of them had teaspoons...

Lady with face piercings so unprofessional. Ordered salted caramel and pistachio frappe creme, payed for it and when we got drink it was not like in ad picture, so we asked why is like that, she said oh we don't have cream... So wait a minute... Maybe she need's to tell that before we paid, so we could adjust our order. Other thing all tables are sticky, many with left empty cups. Piercings lady just talked all time with her college and not doing their job. Other Caffe Neros are good, but this one better to avoid.

Come multiple times a day , my partner and I love the staff here, they are all friendly and it's an amazing atmosphere, ( large latte extra hot extra shot and my reg cappuccino with 3 sugar syrups😂) they work well together and help us try different things and not be boring 😂 see you tomorrow

Excellent, smooth and efficient

The lady with red hair, didn’t get her name was incredibly rude and aimed to show me up in front of customers in saying I can’t warmup your croissant as it’s just come out the oven. I then, started eating the croissant to find it was stone cold and that she could have heated it. Please Nero, let’s get your rules levelled out.

Order hot cappucino here, stay inside since a little windy outside. Sadly their air condition is too cold and makes my drink getting cold as well.. The service was good, fast and nice

Perhaps this place have seen better days. Today, unfortunately, the quality of the services offered by not well trained employees, isn’t a reflection of the high prices. And you must also pay that, and you have honor to take your own order by the table, wich is not clean at all, and all that happens in the old city center, a city filled with tourists all over the world.

Hygiene level at this store is below zero. Because they have only two barista which is not enough to server customers well. The attached drinks are ice mocha and ice latte, they were both horrible and we threw them to trash. Shame that nero reach this level.

Lovely coffee nice people and surrounding

I am a student who loves to come and study in town - we tried out cafe Nero today and we will not be back! Whilst the coffee may be nice, the service is appalling - with staff members being rude and dishing out dirty looks when you order something slightly more complex than a cappuccino. We were served with an eye roll and a rude hand gesture due to the till not working. Please don’t take your anger at the till out on your customers. You know who you are

I visited cafe nero on 9/3/22 at 2pm. I have been paying through O2 just because I got the coffee through promotions, the staff has issues regarding it. There is no proper customer manners and hospitality just because I paid through O2 promotions. I can just explain how they behaved with me but I can’t prove, here is the proof they served me coffee with just 70% of the cup just because I paid through O2 this has to be seriously considered and make sure it won’t happen and don’t show partiality on the type of payment, serve everyone equally that’s professional ethics and humanity pls don’t show partiality

Awful service. Made and order online wanted to change it, so I called them and the waitress was really rude, she said we can’t do that, I kindly asked why it was so difficult she just kept saying we can’t do that. I was ok to pay the higher price for what I ordered previously. Why staff can’t be a bit more kind? Just appalling…I use to like this place before but not any more cuz of this women who is working there she sooooooooo rude this women made me hate to go agin there

Prefer Caffe Nero to Costa or Starbucks. But the interior here is a bit run down. They also should take more pride in keeping it clean.

Staff too busy to stop beggar lady begging from everyone or from stealing a sandwich. No time to clear tables and ordering was full of confusion then the app didn't work. But the staff are nice ...but super busy

Used to love this place but they've changed the cup that they serve the hot chocolate in and it's really uncomfortable to hold :-( Saying that, it is the best hot chocolate you will get from a chain coffee shop. Also they do the best cakes and the staff are really nice!

Cafe Nero is my preferred option for my daily morning coffee. But unfortunately not this outlet. It is the most convenient for me, but always something not quite right. So usually I leave and find another coffee shop, often Costa Coffee.

Yes all very clean n tidy,it was a nice day so we sat outside to have our coffees,just opposite is a baked potato shop that was very busy,the trouble was,right outside the baked potato shop is a big bay for parking,only this bay is for disabled parking only and hears the thing,it appears that BMW,Mercedes and Audi drivers cant read !,or just couldn't give a f#@k about disabled people and parked there to "just nip in". Disgusting!

It's ok been to better Caffe nero before

For a generic coffee shop the coffee is well made and reasonable quality. The cakes I've bought have always seemed fresh - which is always a plus.

Gallowtree Gate outlet is fab Wonderful service coffee & staff

The manager refused to tailor my Chai to how I’d requested (extra Chai). Her reasoning was due to it effecting her stock levels (I even offered to pay extra!!) & higher management questioning stock against income (which should not be at the expense of the customer in my opinion) Not impressed. I felt the manager was being unnecessarily difficult.
