Fiume in Wolverhampton

Although we were late due to some roadworks delaying us the staff were very aware and had no issues with our delay. We were greated pleasently and taken to our table straight away. Its a cosy but elegent restaurant with lovely lighting and seating. We were impressed by the menu andnthe kind mannered staff too We orderd pork arancini CalamariCalzone Salmon spaghetti Creamy peas Fondue covered chipsFocaccia Chocolate soufflé AfagatoEverything was delicious anf the calzone was massive. Great staff great food great atmosphere where you could tell they had some regular customers who they made feel at home. We will be going again.

FANTASTIC! Myself and my husband had the most delicious meal, we ordered a pulled pork pasta dish and boy did it exceed our expectations! It was DELICIOUS. the service was really good. Staff are clearly trained and we loved the atmosphere. We have already booked another table for next month :)

We booked a lunch table today to celebrate our anniversary. We received a warm welcome and a table in the window. We both chose the set menu. I started with the pate which was much bigger than I had expected (I could have happily just had this for lunch). Following this, I chose the prawn and chorizo risotto. It came out with a lot of sauce so I was worried as I’m not a fan of lots of sauce but it was delicious. The sauce was divine and there were plenty of prawns and chorizo throughout. I will definitely be ordering this again - I just wish I knew the recipe!! The two members of staff were very attentive and friendly. All in all, a great experience and we will be revisiting.

Went here for our anniversary. Here is a fair review. Expectations were high due to the reviews as you can see. Seated promptly and politely upon arrival. Starter comes out and my wife gets pork in her starter even though she is did not order this, she ordered a vegetarian dish. Luckily she wasn’t allergic. This was pointed out to staff who replaced it immediately by a polite and apologetic member of staff. She then found a piece of plastic in her starter, this was pointed out to a different member of staff who said “oh sorry”. That was her solution to the problem. Starters arrived and my wife’s main was tasty and I tried some. Mine which was an Italian sausage pizza was horrible. No flavour on it at all. Advertised with red chill flakes and it had about 10 on a massive pizza. I asked for fresh chilli and they said they had none so have more flakes instead. Called for the bill as soon as possible and they did not charge for the starter they got wrong at the beginning which is the least you would expect with the prices they are charging. Summary - this place is massively overrated. Fair play to the people that like it but at least one of the staff members need more training. They also need more variety in their menu. Overall a bad experience for an important evening. Will not be going again. I would also like to add that since the management love CCTV they will see that at the end of our awful experience I told the waitress to box up the remaining food. This was because I do not like wasting food so I gave it to a homeless person on the way home.

I visited Fiume a few days ago when I was on holiday with my family. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. They had a lovely range of cocktails and mocktails! However I struggled to choose from the menu as I am lactose intolerant and nearly every single dish had some form of dairy (it’s an Italian so I guess it’s to be expected) but with the rise of vegetarianism and veganism I was a little disappointed at the lack of choice; especially when it came to dessert. I am a dessert person and was really looking forward to a lovely dessert but again every dessert was dairy based. When we asked about dairy free alternatives the it was a bit of a struggle to get an answer. Eventually the waitress returned and said they had a little bit of vanilla vegan ice cream. So I got one plain scoop. I think it’s a missed opportunity, if they already have vegan ice cream why not dress it up a little bit and have a nice dairy free option on the menu??

Romantic ambience, polite welcoming staff, best arrancini outside Sicily, pizza reminiscent of Naples - superb food and drink. Fantastico.

First visit to Fiume this evening after hearing lots of very good things about it… We did really enjoy our food and drinks but when the staff was speaking to the table next to us they were told of the day’s specials…Why weren’t we told of this??? As what was on specials menu would of been exactly what I would of ordered!! Tad disappointed to be honest, suppose we will have to revisit!! Haha!

Chanced on Fiume during our canal holiday. What a find. What a restaurant. I can honestly say ,it was the best and most delicious Italian meal I have ever eaten. We are well travelled in Italy and can honestly say nothing we have eaten there could surpass the meal we had.lovely friendly staff and atmosphere in a pretty setting. Kept us going through lock down ! Lovely family restaurant, staff are amazing and always provide a great service. Staff always remember our drinks etc… sometimes it’s the little things that count ! Great outside area also.

Absolutey amazing experience!Always ordered takeout and never visited restuarant, was perfectly decorated indoors and had both outside seating and indoor seating. Toilets were nice and clean. Staff were super nice and helpful when deciding on what to eat. Ordered many different dishes but my favourite was the swordfish spaghetti with aubergine, it was one of the best meals I have eaten in 2021Overall defo recommend this place to all food lovers out there

Ambiance and location was great however food was not the best! Calamari was rubbery and not fresh, you could tell it was frozen prior and fried! Ordered the steak rare and got well done instead, the roast potatoes were burnt and hard, sent the plate back as it was inedible and got a sarcastic reply from the chef who stated that the steak was rare when clearly was well done and no comment on the burnt potatoes, asked for the prawn and tomato rice instead and when it arrived it looked thrown on the plate, presentation was not great and nothing like my other dinner guests plate which was the same, did not want to send plate back for 2nd time because you could clearly see the chef was insulted after we sent the first plate back with good reason, Really polite staff who even encouraged me to send plate back after I complained and agreed potato’s were burnt and steak was well done. However the chefs response was arrogant and it showed in the 2nd plates presentation and portions. I have eaten here before and was satisfied hence my return, however this time round was very disappointed in the food only. A great place to go however the chef really needs to learn to be more professional and I expect chef to come out and at least apologise as we stayed on for the ambiance and had a few cocktails after.

As a vegetarian, I requested the carbonara with no meat in as I tend to do at most restaurants. Initially, they brought me out a carbonara with meat in, apologised, took it back and brought me out a fresh one. I then found a piece of bacon (in the middle) of my food, which obviously isnt great for a veggie. When i informed the waiter, management suggested my friend had 'flicked the piece of bacon across the table and into my dish'?, and said they would 'check the cameras'? Laughable really and with no apology or offer to discount the food. Ive been here before and its been great, but the customer service was just poor on the visit

Great service from all staff. Very helpful and we didn’t feel rushed at all even in these current circumstances. Staff were always sanitising the tables and we felt extremely safe at all times! Food was just amazing! Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you Fiume!

Couldn’t recommend Fiume highly enough! We have been many many times, and never once had a bad meal, the staff are always polite, smartly dressed and in hand anytime you may need them (which can be quite often when you have a baby and toddler with you) nothing is too much trouble, it’s our favourite place to eat bar none! It’s a little pricier than your normal restaurant, but I don’t mind that as long as the food is exceptional, which it is! If I had to give some constructive criticism, I would recommend they could get some a/c of some sort as it can get a tad warm upstairs. 10/10 definitely recommend

The food here is amazing, one of the best places I've ever been to to eat. They do superb cocktails as well, so I'd highly recommend trying one like the Taiette or Espresso Martini. The staff are superb, being friendly, knowledgeable and providing great service to make your meal an event to remember.

The restaurant has great ambiance and very family friendly. The food was delicious, it’s what you would expect from an italian restaurant. However the waiting staff needs to be more attentive to their customers, it took them an hour+ to ask for our main and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Basic waiting skills such as serving dishes with cutleries, glasses with jugs of water etc. These are things we had to ask for! At the end of it, gave us two bills and almost forgot to pack our leftovers home. I would come back again, hopefully this review would help improve their waiting skills.

We booked last minute for my birthday treat in late October, undecided whether to go out during these restricted covid 19 times. I don't normally frequent Italian restaurants as I tend to find them either poor quality or overpriced. I have to say Fiume was an exceptional, pleasant surprise in terms of attentive service , delicious authentic Italian food at reasonble value in delightful spacious surroundings.It was our first visit and have to say it's by far the best restaurant we have visited in the Wolverhampton region and we've been to most in the 10 years we've lived here!We were welcomed, attended to by most pleasant staff throughout our evening. We paticularly enjoyed our creamy and tasty pasta dishes as well as as our 'bostin' chocolate melt in the middle desserts - most exquiste.Would highly recommend and will definitely return, possibly in summer months where you can sit outside by the canalside and enjoy the views.

Our first visit to Fiume. Perfect location, nice place. Considering the authentic price, food portions smaller than average, food was lukewarm, we had Lasagna al Forno, Pollo Cacciatora, Patatine DiavolaFries sautéed in a spicy homemade Chilli sauce, cold and stuck together. Tiramisu described on the menu “the most classic Italian Dessert”, finished off with squirting cream, not very Italian at all! I’ll stick to our authentic Italian in Birmingham!

As we hadn't been out for a meal during lockdown, my husband chose this restaurant for his birthday meal. This restaurant is tucked away down the Bridgnorth Road, and it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The interior is pleasantly decorated in neutral tones, and the tables not too close together (Covid?). I love Italian food, and although my husband isn't a fan, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My husband dish was pasta in creamy, cheesy sauce with sausage, and mine was shredded beef & pork with pasta. It was DELICIOUS. This place was a delight and we will definitely be returning. I'd say that this is the best restaurant in Wolverhampton, and I've lived here for 50+ years.

The food could be compared to a takeaway kebab shop pizza, the burger was burnt and the attitude of one of the waitresses was poor when we didn’t tip.

After being recommended to try Fiume by work colleagues I though I’d take the plunge and book a table for a special meal out.The booking process was quick and easy and on arrival was greeted by a friendly smile (even if it was hidden behind a mask, as all Covid resurrections were being followed). The staff were attentive but without being overbearing and were quick to take the order. It was clear that the food was made fresh, however despite this, it came out fresh and piping out. The flavours were intense and delicious, the perfect cure for a dark, wet and miserable October evening.Gemma deserves an extra mention for going out of her way to make the occasion special, putting a candle in one of the puddings. A small action but most welcome, a sign fantastic customer service (in my opinion). The bill was sorted quickly and for the quantity and quality of the food it was most welcome.I would urge anyone in the area to give Fiume a visit, I’ll definable going back.

A great menu with plenty of choice. Starters of Polpette and garlic pizza bread were really tasty and plentiful. We both had the fillet steaks - delicious. Could not manage a dessert. Plenty of choice of cocktails and wine.A great night out, we will be back.

You have to go here! Great location and parking, beautiful decor, friendly staff. Extensive menu with highly traditional Italian dishes. Enjoyed three courses of amazing tasty food accompanied by splendid wine. Front of house staff attentive but not intrusive. A delightful evening and I’ll definitely be back. Came here for my boys birthday last year was amazing the food is just brilliant service is so friendly and I can say the best Italian food served here the pasta dishes are amazing, they have started a takeaway service also bcas Of covid19, situated in a nice little spot in Compton.

I visited on Wednesday with my Fiancee and daughter. On arrival we were met at the door and received a very warm and friendly welcome. The service throughout by the staff was exemplary and you're treated and made to feel like a friend. The food was amazing, as usual. Good portions, very tasty and well presented. The ambiance in the restaurant was very good and we cannot wait to revisit.

The portions are small for the price that you pay, and there was dead insects and bees by the window we was sitting by.

Firstly given the covid situation, the restaurant felt clean and safe. The menu was extensive and the food was out of this world. Once we finished dining we moved downstairs to enjoy some excellent cocktails. The smokey old fashioned is amazing! The staff were all extremely pleasant & also very knowledgeable - they really made our evening very special.

Really enjoyed our experience here. The food I could not fault. It was delicious. The cocktails were fab as well! We had pizza and pasta for mains with a couple of sides and a pudding each.

After arriving an hour early, the staff at Fiume found us a social distance table without any hesitation for us to have drinks before our table was available. Great staff, great food and great atmosphere

Visited here with a friend for belated birthday celebrations. We pre-booked our table knowing how busy the place may be with the Eat out to help out scheme running. Upon arrival we were told to wait and get a drink for a short time as our table wasn't ready. We took a seat outside but it wasn't possible to get a drink. After about a 10minute wait we were seated upstairs at a table overlooking the stairway. A waitress offered us menus and took our drinks order. Drinks were bought to us relatively swiftly and menu choices taken. I ordered the calamari for starters and the pasta with chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce. Both were delicious and filling and bought swiftly. For dessert I opted for the chocolate fondant which was delightful. Overall for my first time visit I was impressed with the food received and the price. Dining out on the Eat out to help out scheme made the £57 bill for two three course meals and 4 soft drinks seem acceptable. The only thing that let the experience down for me was upon finishing our meal being practically kicked out of our table as they needed to reuse it. We had only been seated for a period of no more than 90minutes. The waitress said we were able to get a drink from the bar downstairs but knowing and seeing how busy it was this wasn't feasible. I appreciate having been shut for months the restaurant is trying to recoup losses but just tainted my first experience. Non the less I would look to revisit in the future if the occasion arose.

This was our first visit to Fiume - despite living less than 10 minutes away and it won’t be our last. Our evening consisted of amazing food, attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be returning and with so much on the menu, we will never run out of choice. Special thank you for going the extra mile for my husband’s birthday too. If you are looking for amazing, tasty food with high quality ingredients and excellent service- look no further!! You won’t be disappointed!!

I have never been to this restaraunt, but my partner has many times. So, he took me here for a treat and I really enjoyed the food (I find it hard to pick food because I just want to eat everything) and the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. I've not been before, so not really sure if this is usual- but for a small place, it seemed very busy- bordering on chaotic (eat in to help out). I know what it is like working in busy cafe's and restaraunts, and I know the staff were probably really stressed out. However, they handled service professionally and kept very calm, and managed the space, customers and incoming orders resourcefully, so that, from my observations, no customers seemed disappointed with their dining experience. Thank you for a great time.

Struggled to put an average score but thought Poor would have been to harsh. Went with my parents for dinner (parents have dined here numerous times), I was disappointed with the food, not to a good standard. Pizza to start, had far too much mozzarella (authentic Italian pizza should have a thin base with a nice doughy crust) this was over powering and came out like a deep pan pizza. I had the carbonara for my main - very bland and pancetta tasted sour (never had pancetta taste sour before) but I was corrected by a staff member that this is normal - unfortunately what she didn’t know was that I’m the head chef at a Michelin star restaurant in the West Midlands - food is about chemistry - never in all of my culinary career have I had pancetta taste sour unless it’s off.Never ordered dessert as the main and starter was poor/average. Also the restaurant had a large amount of flies - this needs sorting.Staff were friendly.

This was my second visit to the restaurant with my partner. On this occasion it was for our anniversary dinner and the experience was even better than the first time.All of the staff were very welcoming, attentive and genuinely seemed enthusiatic and happy to help in any way they could, which is very refreshing when compared to the kind of service you get in a lot of other restaurants.The food was excellent in all ways you would expect - very well presented, tasted amazing, portion sizes were good, and of course looked and tasted very authentic.Would definitely recommend to anyone in the local area and would argue it's worth the longer journey for those further afield.

We booked and paid the deposit for 3. We asked to be seated upstairs but were seated downstairs which is not a great environment with the entrance door being open, people collecting orders, other guests arriving etc. Food was nice but my meatball starter was luke warm and was sent back, and then my daughter’s meatball main course was also luke warm! The deposit we paid was not then taken off the bill which all seemed to make us think we were not recognised as pre-booked guests. We like Fiume but tonight’s experience was disappointing.

Came for some food with my partner as we’d been previously to meet friends for drinks and we were not disappointed. From the delicious food and drinks to the superb waitresses. No complaints.

On our visit with family members last week food was ok! not alot left on menu to order plus manager had said if we wanted lobster or mussels they had to be asked for when made bookings!! but how would we know this has wasn't made aware when called to book!!!...Cocktails just wasn't wot ordered but when told manager she wasn't very helpful or didn't ask us if we would rather something else so really disappointed as was our first visit with family

A nice little Italian restaurant that is in a nice location by the canal with plenty of parking spaces. The mushroom crepe starter was exceptional. The main course offers many different pasta dishes and it was a little difficult on first glance to distinguish between them (in terms of their descriptions) but what was served was of a high quality and most enjoyable.Nicely decorated interior, a very pleasant place to eat!

The most delicious, authentic Italian food you’ll eat in the West Midlands. We use this restaurant for birthdays, anniversary’s, date nights (any excuse we can think of to be honest). Not only is the food to die for, the extensive drinks and cocktail menu takes this restaurant to another level. The staff are so friendly and considerate, they always remember our ‘usuals’ and little details about me and my partner that make the experience so lovely. Pricey but the price reflects the quality of the food, you get what you pay for and it is perfect every time. Would recommend to everyone, make sure you order the chilli cheese fries!

We ate in the restaurant a few times before lockdown, and thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Despite being so local I have no idea why it took us so long to visit!The staff have adapted to lockdown brilliantly and their takeaway service has become the weekly highlight in our household!The food is fantastic- absolutely delicious. Team it up with an efficient, prompt and friendly service and it’s a great combination.I’m grateful we can still eat their food in lockdown and can’t wait until we can eat in the restaurant again. Recommended by friends - finally an authentic Carbonara without the cloying double cream. The pizza was the best I’ve tasted. Will definitely book a table once the pandemic is over. The best celebration we can have for our golden wedding anniversary. Thank you so very much. Stephen & shelagh.

Great meal! We have visited on a few occasions and the food has always been amazing so this time I thought it fair to write a review. I had the risotto balls and lasagne which was cooked perfectly. My son had the crepes for desert which next time I will definitely have. Great choice of wine too and superb, attentive service - highly recommended!!! Will be returning!

Service is always friendly and welcoming, they cater for my gluten free diet without fuss and offer a wide range of choices for me. Plus gluten free tiramisu is amazing!!

Food was good but a little over priced. Venue was inviting and modern. Suggest you ask for seating up stairs. Staff were attentive and professional. Some of the menu choices were not available, our table booking was for 8:45 on a Saturday evening.

Food was very good, the staff were amazing and hospitable also. I booked it for my 40th birthday and even my friends who came as far as Cornwall and Norwich were impressed. Will come back very soon.

Very rushed d. Staff were polite however we felt very uncomfortable as we were constantly being stared (by the staff) through our whole meal . We didn't ask for the bill but it was brought over by the waitress which we found very rude. A member of staff then told us that they need the table back friend address the fact that we were being rushed and the manager was very dismissive and didn't even have the courtesy to apologise. The place is small and we found that people were pretty much sitting on top of us as they were waiting to be seated. Food was ok but i was expecting it to be better being an Italian restaurant. Apparently if we had a later reservation we would not have been hounded to leave, never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. Customer service is key. Deffo wont be returning.

Me and my wife went to Fiume for a lunchtime treat and what a treat it was!! The hostess (Gemma) was very polite and extremely knowledgeable. The food was wonderful and served at a very hot temperature and it tasted wonderful. If you want great service and more importantly amazing food - I can think of nowhere better in the city than Fiume.

We visited on a Saturday night with a voucher a friend gave us. We skipped the starter and ordered the main course. I went for the pasta in brisket which arrived fresh and my wife had rissoto with prawn and chorizo and a garlic bread side. The food was plentiful and filling ,so we were glad to have had just the main leaving room for the sweet. The only problem was getting off the CAR park two cars aside mine parked closed and one behind caused problems even with reverse parking sensors.. Fortunately a kind gentleman helped us and after many manoeuvres we were on our way.

It was my first tine at Fiume, Restaurant was very cosy, nice music, staff was very friendly and polite and the food was delicious and big portions, I defenately recomend it and will be returning again

My husband and I have been going to this amazing family restaurant for many years. The food is excellent and the service is excellent. We always take family and friends and recommend to everyone we know. You won’t find a better Italian restaurant anywhere.

We've visited here twice in the last few months, first in a large party and second time a smaller group. Both times the service and food was fantastic. There's a really varied menu and the wine is reasonably priced. We'll definitely be visiting again.

For an Italian restaurant i was not too pleased with the quality of the food. Most of it tasted very bland and i had to add loads of salt and black pepper to make it edible. I find that the Italian restaurants in Bham are much better

Just had a fabulous lunch in Fiume. The food was excellent and Gemma our waitress was superb. I booked a table for 2 on Valentine’s Day on the back of today’s visit. A must visit.

The meal was a present for my husband’s birthday and the restaurant was recommended by a friend. We weren’t disappointed. We were met at the front door and shown upstairs to our table. The service was very attentive and soon drinks were served and our order taken. The food was delicious and attractively served. Service was prompt, efficient and very pleasant. We will defiantly dine here again.

We recently came here for a friends birthday. We each had three courses which were all delicious. The setting and location is beautiful with very attentive servers. Recommend the prawn and chorizo risotto!

Bland and tasteless , bones I’m the chicken breast main . Instant mash used .. don’t waste your money !
