Rocco Restrarunt in Wolverhampton

We went to Rocco after purchasing a groupon offer. My husband and I had been previously and had been impressed with our meal so when the offer came up we thought we’d treat the family. However, the groupon offer implies you’ll get over £90 worth of food for £50, but our experience was very different. Starters were all small, and very basic. One of our party had pizza for main. That was the biggest of all the mains delivered. Taste was good. I had Lasagne. Was quite small but was tasty. 2 out the party had the spinach and ricotta cannelloni. Well, it would have been a small starter. 4 mouthfuls and it was gone. They both said it was nice but just very little. We were glad we ordered 2 sides of fries which for £7 for approximately 20 was steep too. Sadly we won’t be returning. For a Saturday evening it was surprisingly quiet, but after dining we can see why.

From the moment we stepped into Rocco Italian Restaurant, I felt I was in Italy. The warm atmosphere, with the aroma of freshly baked garlic bread and pasta, which made me feel I had an unforgettable dining experience. Each dish I had was culinary masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavours and made with love and care. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. Whether it was the perfectly cooked pasta or the mouth-watering tiramisu, every bite was a celebration of Italian cuisine at its finest. I cannot recommend Rocco Italian enough – "it's a true gem for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Italy."

Firstly the positive, the staff are very attentive and welcoming. I feel that they are being let down by the food… I’m not Italian by an stretch, but I know that Bruschetta and cheesy garlic bread are not the same thing. I actually called the waiter over to suggest that he might have got the wrong table, he was very apologetic and said “it’s the right order unfortunately, it’s just garlic bread”… The main was Cannelloni that just appeared to be a soup of tomato pasata and cheddar cheese, no pasta was found. I had to use a spoon to eat it as it ran through the fork. The Tiramisu tasted nice but was clearly a shop bought frozen desert. The food was so bad that it was actually quite funny, the two tables either side of us were having a laugh as well. In some ways, this meant that we actually had quite a good time! However on reflection, we had actually paid for an authentic Italian meal and not Karen’s diner.

Our waitress was very nice but that’s the only good thing about this place. We thought as ran by Italians food would be lovely, have to say we both had pizzas ( one calzone) were worst pizzas have had in a very long time, just tasted real salty . Sorry wish I could say something more positive. We were hungry and off to a concert and yes we ate the food but wished after we hadn’t bothered and asked ourselves why!

Very bog standard, table and chairs not set out very well, overstaffed (multiple servers all asking the same questions throughout the meal) food underwhelming, i will say its a very cheap menu but you get what you pay for.

We were 30 minutes late for our booking. No problem. We asked for immediate service as we only had an hour. No problem. Food was delivered promptly and was hot, fresh and delicious on a very busy evening. We were made very welcome in a very busy evening. Service was friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend - a gem of a place.

Oh dear oh deary me! Awful food the worst I have ever had. Groupon offer a set menu, I had bruschetta 2 small pieces of a bread stick cheese on top with salad! I’m not Italian but Iv never had bruschetta like that before like an Aldi special ! Only Iv had better from Aldi ! Pizza well see the photo spinach and chicken hahaha ! Hardly any cheese just bread with something splattered on top ! Cheesecake was like they had cut a slice in half ! I’d rather throw £30 down the drain! Absolutely dreadful the worst meal Iv ever had In my 44 years of life! Service lady just laughing not listening to conversation, young girl very polite!

Went with a friend for an early dinner in a Friday night. Staff were friendly and attentive without being excessive. Food arrived promptly and we were both very pleased with our choices. Rich flavours, tasty combinations and nicely presented. We’ll definitely be back for more.

After deciding 2 go 2 this restaurant for valentines nite we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent. Service exceptional. And atmosphere was perfect. Definitely will return..well done Rocco.

Excellent food and staff were brilliant

Lovely place to get a quick bite at lunchtime. Food was really home made and fresh. We were the first people in, at that time but when we left it was getting busier. Will go back if I'm in the area. 👌

Went the for a outing ordered cheese garlic bread pizza hardly and cheese just tasted like I was eating normal garlic bread found a hair on one of the garlic bread informed a member of staff no apology and was just like we will get a new one even when the second one was brought out still nothing won't be coming back there again But guy with long hair was really nice and very polite

We had a party of 22 with children included. The whole of the Rocco team was amazing! So accommodating and professional and most importantly the food was excellent. One member of the party had a steak and he said it was the best steak he has had. No complaints from us, 5* all round!!

I went to Rocco Italiano for a work Christmas lunch and I have to admit that I’m not the biggest fan of Italian food but I’m always open minded! I opted for the calamari starter, salmon main and tiramisu for dessert. The calamari was good - served hot and crispy but the dipping sauce was a bit bland. I enjoyed the salmon, that was cooked well as it was flaky but not dry but the tomato sauce was not to my liking at all and there was too much of it. The tiramisu was good but it could’ve done with more coffee! The staff were great but the venue is a bit dated and could do with modernising.

Gorgeous Italian food. We booked online but we have eaten here before a few years ago.we ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and a Lasagna plus dessert of a Panna Cotta and a Strawberry Cheesecake. Food was served quickly and piping hot. Everything was delicious Service was excellent very welcoming and friendly Would recommend

I bought a groupon for my son & his girlfriend and they really enjoyed it. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. They enjoyed the food & would definitely recommend.

After looking forward to dining at Roccos..what a massive disappointment..the place was cold ,dark.we were sat by the window on small table next to other diners,very close.we ordered wine,then we ordered starters..I had garlic prawns,my wife had mushroom.Mine was just ok,my wife's was awful a over loaded plate of wet salad with a Luke warm mushroom with barley melted cheese,it wasn't very nice.so when the plates were moved,within a minute our mains arrived,we barley finished starters.i had fillet steak,it was nice,my wife had chicken and prawns in white wine sauce,omg she had to saw through it..it was so so dry and had a hard skin all over it like it had been in the microwave... absolutely terrible...I way could she eat this.Beleive me or not we never normally complain,but for fine dining this was a joke.we had planned a nice night out.We thought we were in for a treat...we would of had dessert and coffee as you do,but couldn't wait to get out of ther..what a shame,we got taxi there had a meal and taxi home in 90mins..what a shame... hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else..very very disappointed.

Best Italian ever!!! The meal was beautiful and great value for money! Atmosphere was great and the service was impeccable. Staff couldn’t have done enough for us.

The owner Rocco couldent do enough for us started of with homemade soup than a had great pasta followed by cheesecake great surroundings

Had a lovely meal last Friday evening before going to the theatre. Nice window table and tasty food. Prices are really reasonable and staff are very attentive. It's a good option if you're in the city centre and heading to the theatre or the Halls.

5 of us ate here yesterday which was a last minute arrangement and we are very pleased we did! The staff were great, service was great and food was excellent! They couldn’t have been more accommodating. Will definitely return!

Had the place to ourselves for a midweek date day lunch. Don't let the outside put you off, turned out an excellent Groupon find. Cannot fault either the food or service. Along with a game of bowling and a rogering the Mrs was happy

Not our first time visiting this restaurant. We came for lunch it was a lovely sunny day we were sat by the window which was perfect,the atmosphere and music made us feel like we were on holiday. The set menu is excellent value for money and the service is very attentive. Definitely will be coming here again soon Thankyou :)

Just had a fabulous meal here. Lovely surroundings and attentive service. Very reasonably priced for the fresh flavours of the dishes we chose. Seared tuna and fish risotto, both delicious. Would definitely recommend.

We went for dinner with a Wowcher which was quite cheap. However that reflected in the quality of food served. The tiramisu is an absolute disappointment especially when the menu said homemade, it was at best a defrosted piece of tiramisu. The decor is very busy with lots of plants thrown all over the place. Although I have to praise the staff for being quick, responsive and very friendly. I could see most regulars coming back, knowing the staff on a first name basis was a pleasant sight. Not sure, if the food would be that different if we ordered from the main menu by paying full price.

Disappointing. Poor quality. Supermarket ready meal, should have stayed at home. Will not return or recommend.

Myself and my husband have been here 3 times in the last 18 months with a Groupon voucher. Always met with a warm welcome and the Italian gentleman who I think is the owner is always pleasant and friendly. Not huge portions with the offer but enough for a lunchtime without being too full. Nice cocktails too. Will continue to come here and maybe try on the evening too. Lovely place to dine. Thank you!!

Best Italian restaurant in Wolverhampton. I went here last week with my friends on a Friday, the place was absolutely packed and had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Was worth the wait as the pizzas was the best ive ever tasted and my friend had the vegetarian cannaloni whitch was incredible. I recommend rocco italiano to all.

Great freshly cooked food at a great price. Pleasant friendly staff. Easy parking opposite or park free for 3 hours at Sainsbury's car park couple of hundred metres away.

The food i have to say was excellent, the staff were fantastic, one of the mains was forgotten but soon sorted, it did feel we were being kicked out at 930 on a Saturday night which was a shame.. the one shocking thing for a classic Italian restaurant to discover the £23 bottle of Chianti was in fact Lidl wine.. that was very dissapointing

Great place good trattoria style food. Will definitely use again. Easy parking over the road and good to use as a meal before theatre as opens 5pm do a relaxed meal. Waitresses all charming.

If you're looking for great Italian food at decent prices, then Rocco's is definitely the place to go if you're in Wolverhampton. A good selection of dishes to suit even the fussiest eater. Great homemade dishes and desserts. A good wine selection and beer on tap. The service is very good. I booked on the night and arrived to be welcomed like a friend. There was a lovely birthday party going on which showed they cater for all. Despite being busy when we arrived we were taken very good care of. Three courses and a couple of drinks. The time went quickly, and the table service was better than some top London establishments I've visited. All in all, it was a great experience. Best italian food in the area. Definitely recommend and will certainly be visiting again.

We really enjoyed our 2nd visit to Rocco. The food was excellent, the place was packed and there was a great atmosphere. Staff very attentive and friendly. The prices were good, to. We'll be going back next time we fancy an Italian meal in Wolves.

Lovely meal and service but portions a bit small.

This is a wonderful place for date night. I came here with my boyfriend. The staff were so friendly and I loved the overall atmosphere. The manager was very accommodating, I wanted the meatballs as a main instead of a starter and he was more than happy to do that for me. I got garlic bread as a starter, spaghetti and meatballs for my main and a cheesecake for dessert. The food was flavourful and delicious, we had a wonderful time.

We came here on Mother’s Day for lunch and we had such a lovely experience. The staff were superb and very attentive. The service was spectacular and the food arrived very quickly! Booked a meal through groupon...starter we had ciabatta..not the best...main chicken in a white sauce and partner had spaghetti bolognaise...no offer of any parmesan or ground black pepper and portion size great if you are a child...can cook much better myself at home...atmosphere.. there wasn't ..very dated place full of plants..won't be visiting again

dreadful restaurant. 2 of ordered a pizza each and it was the worst pizza Ive ever had in my life. one bite and it was sent back. soggy dough base not cooked. and it was no way made to order. it was clearly a £1 pizza from the super market then they thrown on a few olives etc to make out its made specially. the decor is dreadful. cheap and tacky canvas wall prints. plants all over the place. its real mess of a place. the table clothes are filthy and the menu's are are so tatty. sorry but this place is really poor and we won't be visiting again.

Visited on the two course groupon. We both had the pate to start (pate and salad nice but the toast was stale) then lasagne. The lasagne was one of the tastiest I have had and was piping hot but tiny. From looking around clearly the full price payers got considerably bigger portions and smart crockery. Staff were nice and the service was good so I would go again. The prices are reasonable so I would recommend but if on a budget forget the groupon and just go and enjoy a main course.

Had a woucher to use from Christmas ,had lasagne which was mostly sauce on its own, if you wanted chips it was extra 3.50 per portion no salad at all

Went as a party of 4. Groupon voucher. Starter Pate very poor toast was stale. Main was small could have cooked better at home. Chicken and pasta was poor. Cheesecake was okay base was too soft. You get what you pay for voucher wasnt too expensive. Shame as impression was poor.

Absolutely brilliant service (very friendly and welcoming), it is very clear that the staff and owner care about their food , customers and business. The food was incredible, I had the Fresh Haddock with lemon and Parsley sauce and it was Devine. Definitely recommend and will definitely be returning! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Friendly staff, good selection on the menu. Food has deteriorated over the years. Although my fillet steak was okay, 3 meals were sent back. Frozen vegetables and Pana cottas that were inedible. Few of the pasta dishes were okay but unfortunately won't be returning. Cannot even compete with Fume and Bella restaurants. Such as a shame as the owner and staff are great

Visited on a Thursday prior to the Grand theatre on a Groupon deal. Friendly welcome, good service and tasty food, what more is there to say ... great value deal that we would definitely recommend.

Mixed feelings about dining here... It promised a lot ......the staff were attentive ...and worked hard...food was variable from delicious risotto (seafood) to overcooked seabass! We enjoyed it until ...we queried why the bill included the latter meal....but worse for me .....and not forgetting that old fashioned mantra that the customer is always right.......the restaurant closed at 9.30pm on a Saturday night!!!!! Walked past Bella the other side of Chapel Ash......at 9.35pm....Still busy..... Not somewhere I wish to visit any time soon at the moment!

I am the type of person who can't even eat pastas.. but these are made with soo much love that even I might become addicted 😂 And the pizza?.. soft, well made, with great taste, the only problem is to try hard to behave yourself while all u wanna do is dig in like an animal 😂😂. 11/5 ! See u next time, I'm coming back with my friends..

Amazing host! First time visiting here, as we found it on Groupon. The atmosphere is very relaxing, clean and a lovely ambience. Nice food. Would recommend if your looking for a clean, homely, romantic meal. The host went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, had a warm aura and did not rush us. Will definitely visit again.

Great tasting food here. We had the Quattro Stagioni pizza and it tasted very fresh and authentic. We will definitely be back here and the owner is very pleasant and friendly.

Took my son (who is a chef) there as a surprise for his birthday, there was 17 of us and I communicated with the proprietor before hand, a friendlier man than you can ever imagine. Very easy to speak with. The staff are 100% friendly /helpful /approachable. The restaurant is clean with a lovely atmosphere, and the lighting added to the atmosphere.

What a lovely welcoming clean place this was. The little Italian owner was truly lovely and so hospitable. As was the young front of house Lady. The tasty creamy linguine was gorgeous and pizza was filling. Definitely a works night out or a family meal...

Went today Wednesday September 7th we like it …and we will be back again …just one fault …can we have more ice cream as 2 tiny scoops isn’t enough but we will be back next time for the cheesecake …many thanks Rachel

First time at this restaurant for a mid week family lunch. Excellent authentic Italian food. Nothing fancy but just enjoyable and great value. We will definitely visit again. Rocco the proprietor was extremely hospitable and clearly enjoys the provision of a well run restaurant.

Eaten twice i one week afternoon and evening. Had to go back a second time to see if what i thought was right the first time. Sadly not fresh food would say supermarket brought. No Italian wine just cheap Chilean wine. Pasta is brought mot made. Please dont get me wrong the food was OK But when going Italian you expect fresh food to match the prices. If i wanted supermarket food i could have got the same and cooked it at home for a fraction of the price

Absolutely terrible experience at Rocco. The lager was terrible and tasted as if it had been left in the keg way longer than it should have been. The staff needed lessons in table service as they continually reached over us whilst taking our plates. The food was utterly lack lustre and had obviously been pre-prepared and heated up. We ordered calamari, which had been fried up from frozen, instead of being made up from fresh and was basically like rubber. The mains were massively sub-standard with the risotto tasting claggy and chalky and had obviously just been reheated and the calzone extremely hard and nothing special whatsoever. As quite a bit of an amateur chef myself I like to go to a restaurant and eat food that I feel I couldn't cook better at home. In the case of Rocco's I immediately felt I could take their chef to the cleaners. With much, much better Italian restaurants in Wolverhampton I seriously feel that Rocco's really do need to up their game.
