Overpriced, overrated, and undercooked. Was served the stalest, driest, and coldest sausage roll, when asked to heat it up they said they couldn’t, absolute waste of money.

Been going to Fitzbilles for years, I think with the recent expansion to more sites has impacted the good customer service of the past. The coffee was good, it's just not the same when the person serving is having a terrible day and barking at the customers.

It's like a Tardis - once you get in to the main cafe, it goes back a long way, makes a slight shimmy to the left, then goes back a bit more. It can get very busy - I was waiting for about 10 minutes at about 11.30 on a Sunday morning, but I could see a steady stream of people leaving, so I knew it would not take long. The staff do a great job of keeping everyone happy, and obvious the Chelsea buns are everything you could possibly want.

The consistency of the buns is not great. Sometimes, they are too sweet , sometimes too dry. Today, they were both. We were staying in Cambridge and this (following recommendations) was one of the main places we ate for breakfast and lunch. The food is amazing. There are 3 shops - a cake shop, a main restaurant and a cafe. They dont really cross over between the shops. So know which one you want. We spent time going in the wrong door. The cafe the only thing i would flag is they dont clear up very well.

Fitzbillies is a Cambridge institution, and for good reason. While my scone was pleasant, the cappuccino was the real star of the show - smooth, rich, and enjoyable. It's the ideal spot to soak up the atmosphere of this historic city, whether you're people-watching King's college or simply enjoying a moment of contemplation. Don't expect quiet during afternoon tea time as you are on a tourist highway.

Staff were super friendly, but unfortunately we were not blown away by the food or afternoon tea… They also add a ‘discretionary service charge,’ but we were not informed what it was, nor that it was added… it’s basically an optional tip that the restaurant decides to add on your behalf. It feels very dishonest doing this and NOT telling the customer, as we didn’t discover this charge until AFTER we had paid… after some reading, this seems to be occasionally customary, but I’ve lived in London over 6 months and this is my 1st encounter with this… shame.

A very popular place, and for good reason! It’s not the most spacious inside around the counter area, so it’s good for there to be a menu displayed in the window outside. The staff are friendly and they take the time to box up any treats with care. The focaccias were large with a decent amount of filling for the thickness and pleasurably salty and garlicky. The blueberry cheesecake was exceptional, but a few tissues would have been welcome for the resulting sticky fingers! There’s a few other branches throughout the city and while it’s far from cheap I’d recommend here!

The saddest affogato of my life! They basically serve an espresso shot on a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream and charge you £6 to take it away! No chocolate or milk or anything else, just a single espresso shot and a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream, no flavour, too bitter and too tiny!! ps. I am a frequent customer, coming back for their cakes and pastries for years. Waiting in line for long on a hot day to be served this random thing was my worst experience. I hope the management improves or simply stops selling affogato.

Ordered pancakes with”whipped Greek yogurt”, I got “whipped cream”. I asked a waiter to check and yes it was whipped cream. I said I didn’t want it, he offered me something else which I declined. He took my plate to the kitchen and talked about me to his colleagues ( they made it obvious when they turned and looked at me). I spoke to a manager about this and the cream. He said he would not charge for the pancakes, and would have a word with the waiter, which he did while we were there. Very unprofessional under the circumstances. My husband enjoyed his full English breakfast. The toilets we’re disgusting, we will obviously not return. Do not put one thing on your menu and serve something else. Or at least tell your customer.

Unfortunately the service is a little mediocre - there are plenty of very young (likely Uni students) who don't really know what they're doing - for example one lad was just singing to himself for 30 minutes straight whilst walking up and down the tables and nobody really addressed us until we asked to order specifically.

I decided to give them another chance and recently I visited for a coffee and cake. Service was poor. The lady serving was nowhere to be seen and I had to wait an unacceptable time. After I had sat down and started my cake I became aware of a young man behind the counter who seemed lees than totally focused on his job. And then ……. The music came on. Who was the music for? I would suggest it was for the staff. It was a hideous and loud intrusion into the quiet. I had a rum truffle as they were out of cheese scones. Muy pocos clientes comer y el ambiente es muy tenue. La comida está bien preparada y el servicio es rápido, pero con tan pocos diners no sorprendente.

Awful meal accompanied by Flat pint, Bolognese ragu was slightly undercooked pasta combined with greyish mince, utterly bland, like black and white English cuisine from about 1974. Pint of Lager dead flat on arrival. I’d avoid eating here if you can. Massive dissapointment, I think under new ownership since I ate here last a year or so ago.
