Fishy in East Staffordshire

Ordered meals for 18 people for a family gathering. All came boxed and named. Delicious food, friendly service and a great price!

Dreadful service. Two staff trying to manage waiting customers and fulfil online corners. Left is waiting 35 mins for an order of chips. When we finally got them they were dry and tasteless. Would not use again.

The food is nice (average) but the recent price increases don't reflect the taste of the food. Never quick service either so don't bother if you are in a rush

We have been visiting Fishy Business for the past couple of years and have always had a fantastic experience. We are served freshly cooked tasty food and there is always a good selection on the menu. The owners and staff are lovely and have a chat whilst the food is cooking/ being bagged up. On our last visit we decided to have two chicken tikka kebabs on pitta with salad. The meals were delicious and full of flavour. We regularly have fish cakes, battered sausages and chips. All excellent! Fantastic chippy that is a credit to Uttoxeter. We love Fishy Business!

We ordered on the website in advance which was very easy to do and the food was ready to collect as expected. We paid cash in collection. The portion of large fries was huge, enough for a family of four! They told me that they fry in sustainable palm oil. Would recommend.

Just had a donner kebab on a nan bread off their new menu and it was absolutely lovely. Not greasy fresh salad and tastey meat. Use this place a lot and the new menu looks really good including more vegetarian options

This used to be our chippy of choice but after a couple of very long waits we have decided to go elsewhere from now on. Our most recent visit was a weekday evening when we fancied a portion of chips to go with a home cooked pie. That was all we wanted - 1 portion of chips. Having arrived there was 1 person in the chippy in front of me and a few staff standing around behind the counter. Plenty of food in the trays on display. Instead of wrapping some chips up so I could be on my way I was asked to wait outside. A bit strange I thought when it was just for a portion of chips but I did as I was asked. There was a lady already outside who had been waiting for 10 minutes. I ended up waiting for 20 minutes outside. Apparently they are prioritising online orders now however a few people turned up having ordered online and their orders weren’t ready. They ended up waiting too. Really disappointed with how this has gone downhill in terms of speed of service. It was no better on our visit before but I put that down to it being a bit busier. Like I said, we shall now be going elsewhere. As will all the people who were stood outside on both of our visits who were also saying how terrible the wait was. If you do choose to use this chippy, give yourself A LOT of time to get ur order as speed is very slow.

The food at Fishy Business is always fresh and delicious. My preferred chippy in town, the staff are always fast and polite. You can eat in for no extra cost- if you do then you are provided with plates, knives and forks... very good for the environment! The portions are very generous and the building itself is always very clean. Lots of variety on the menu (e.g. popcorn chicken/ chicken nuggets , scampi, wide range of pies etc). Kebab meat is to die for! Also free lollipops for children, keeps them happy while waiting.

We chose Fishy because of its excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. We were served beautifully fried dry chips with soft centres and equally crisp battered cod, as good as any we’ve had in Whitby or Scarborough. This chippy has 4 tables for customers to eat their meals inside but it isn’t a restaurant, so we were pleasantly surprised to be served our meals on plates and given proper cutlery at no extra charge - better for us and far better for the environment, as there was no packaging to dispose of. The young staff who served us were cheerful and polite. I wish we had a chippy as good as this near home.

To be honest I have been before and really enjoyed them but this time is a big no to going again.. We sat in and had fish & chips, chips were horribly dry and fish tasted rubbery as if they had been standing for a while, peas were horrid we had bread & butter which was stale bread..... left my meal and also didn't fancy eating stale bread. Almost forgot to mention that the salt and vinegar sit on top of a serviette which was filthy with all stains on it.. Won't be going there again EVER

Always fresh fish and chips... large portion.. price is reasonable... best in Uttoxeter..and also open everyday including bank holidays

Long journey home with our American friends who fancied fish and chips to celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary! We couldn't have found a better and more welcoming place. The food was great and the service was cheerful and friendly...even if they didn't understand when my husband asked if he could have a wally! 😁

Popped into Chippy for lunch, short wait for freshly cooked chips, not from area but when next here will be back

Was the only chippie I could find in Uttoxeter that was open on Bank Holiday Monday evening. Certainly not disappointed, large portion of well cooked, non greasy chips and a much bigger pie selection than the average chippie offers. Well worth a visit

Still advertising food on the ALL DAY SPECIAL board but apparently some items aren't actually available all day, false advertising! The staff were un friendly and not welcoming at all I walked out and went some where else. Won't be going there again.

Went for a job here when I was out of work and they said they don’t want men just women to me. Plus there food is terrible. The chips are mushy and the curry sauce is lumpy fish tasted of oil best place to go Is CODS CORNER

Best fish and chip shop in Uttoxeter. Love the southern fried chicken they do. Always fast efficient service from friendly staff. Food is well priced.

The chips are usually cooked in small batches and therefore very fresh and crispy, the fish portions are generous, whole fish and not from frozen pulp.

Just had the fish and peas, and they threw in some free chips on the side. What a great little business. Quality

Mejor pescado y patatas fritas en la ciudad, en mi opinión. Grandes porciones de pescado, patatas fritas y mini 3 es suficiente para nosotros 4, dos adultos y dos adolescentes.

Excellent food. The place is a credit to itself. Fresh fish every-time and in my eyes no other chippy can touch it for quality spot on.

They only cook limited numbers of chips at any one time, so they are always very fresh, they give generous proportions and the fish are big and fresh, no frozen white pulp.

Dos mini Fish&Chips; para llevar en un plato con guisantes blandos por £7,20 incluye dos cafés. Excelente relación calidad-precio, excelente comida, buen café. ¿Qué más se puede pedir, la relación calidad-precio y calidad, volveremos cuando pase por otra vez.
