Arrived very late after travelling from London and so hungry. Cod was fresh cooked and delicious and chips acceptable. Staff were friendly and let us eat in despite late hour. Very grateful.

Not a bad chippy. Had there new katsu chicken curry and chips in a box for £6 was very nice. Been there and had it again. So I would definitely recommend it

Really don't get the serving system they have in place. Potter St is far superior

Batter was crispy on the battered sausage, the chips was great and the curry sauce was very enjoyable! Nothing was greasy but the portions and price have stopped me from giving 5 stars, this was nearly £10

So I normally order from potter street shop but tonight I was out and thought I’d try the stow shop as it’s the same chain. How disappointing was I… Ordered large cod and large chips, and a kids meal. The cod was more like medium the large chips where medium at best.. The kids meal was missing the drink. Plus not that hot. As they are the same chain as potter street there’s a big difference Very disappointed…

Enjoyed our food but what stood out most was the service. As we waited for our order we couldn't help but notice the two young girls at the counter. Both took time to smile and engage with each and every customer. I hope their employers read this and give them the pat on the back they deserve. Evening of 22/2

Only one other customer in the shop, and I was stood there for 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged. I was seconds away from going somewhere els. Other shops say hello as soon as you walk through the door, and if busy they will apologise and say I’ll be right with you. From any other chip shop I have visited in my life a large portion of chips will easily serve 2 people, so I was either given a small (having paid for a large) or you are taking the mick out of your customers, because the portion I got wouldn’t have even filled up one person. Sort out your customer service, and sort out your portions . This was my first visit and definitely my last.

Asked for cod and large chips .. got cod and regualr chips . Asked for chips to be wrapped separately, they weren't. We were asked if we wanted salt and vinegar.. none on it (probably for the best lol) . Food great but attention to detail on that particular day... not so much . Wouldn't put us of off but just a note that's all :-)

Since my usual chippy started closing on Sundays we have been here a few times. Staff are always friendly and we cannot fault the food at all. However you would make my week if you would start to have gluten free options at the weekend. No other chippy in harlow now does gluten free on a Sunday and there is limited options Friday and Saturday. Seems like Tuesday every chippy in harlow does gluten free but that doesn’t help us to have a normal family takeaway at the weekend like everyone else does. Please think about offering gluten free at the weekend?

Chips: Quality are a bit hit & miss because they often taste stale, hard and dry as if they are either from the day before or had been pre-cooked and allowed to go cold then reheated! On this occasion I purchased at lunchtime so would expect them to be fresh!

We had three sausage and chips the sausages were ok but the chips were disgusting they were full of black bits some were not cooked properly and the rest were sggy and horible we threw all three portions away. The service was not great either there was one person on the till and while i was there waiting 3 people came in and got thiers and left even though the sausages were in the hot place when i got there. I will never use this place again its awful and expensivei.

I was waiting for just chips 4 people that come in after me got their food straight away when I asked the lady she said she forgot. I got large chips and was charged 4.45 and I only received about a handful of chips

Shame on evening cheating team. I did ordered regular fish and chips, back home, opened the box and found small portion fish and chips. Sadly had no time to go back to the store and complain about it. Would highly advise reveryone check your orders before you walk out the door.

Tiny portion of chips in a roll with curry sauce. Food was lovely but for £5.90, I won’t be going back as too expensive.

This is a white right wing rasict edl chippy . More than one occasion I have paid for a large and got a medium if that . Knowing if I say anything they can use the Teddy boy police . Excuse is boxes are for delivery but they do delivery's. So why else restrict a customer other than the fact that they do not like black people buying chips from there shop. I will not be going again and say if you disagree with what has happend continuesly to me don't got there . No surprise being in Harlow 🤬

From ordering to 1.5 hour to be delivered and when received was cold. All I got was an apology and blame on only having 1 driver and heavy traffic. We live about 10 mins drive so the food should at least travel been hot. Will not be using again

Fair quality food, the price is a little high in my opinion, and it has deteriorated since no longer being Luigi's. Portions are smaller, and service is much slower.

Gave my 4 year old daughter food poisoning not happy at all. Stay clear.

£30 cod and chips twice, fish was dry the chips was small even though ordered a large and was frozen chips into a fat frier to cook. Will not be using this place again feel mugged of. Oh and £3 for a tub of mushy peas is the biggest rip of, glad I opened a tin at home. This place must be hoping to close down because the price against the food they are provided tonight I no I won't be the only person not going back.

Great shop, delicious food! Fish cakes are definitely my favourite, burgers are top notch, the chips fresh and tasty. Price can be a little high but you do get quality food.

Potato surprise only just cooked still hard no surprise. Only surprise is a full cooked one if your lucky or seasoning on. Staff to busy chatting or making boxes .

This place is really going down hill fast! The price is way too high for what it is a med haddock and reg chips over £11.00! Don't mind paying anything if food is good but Medium haddock was soo small was dry and had no taste. Chips were reheated as they were rock hard, dry and hollow. I'm local but won't be ordering here again, nor would I recommend to anyone! No wonder why there quiet in there.

I ordered large haddock & chips with a gherkin but no gherkins so I settled for a onion which must be more expensive than gold a marble sized onion cost .75p, I also bought a buttered bun/roll which I've also learnt not to order at 6pm as I throw it out for the birds providing I didn't knock them out with it lol I thought it was a cricket ball it was so hard The fish was delicious if not a bit small but all in all a very expensive meal but the fish was extra special.

Very expensive. Changed from chips to potato surprise because the chips are disgusting, full of bad bits and crispy bits and very dry. My partner went to the shop about 4.30 pm today (4th July 2022) purchased scampi, a sausage and 2 x 10 pieces of potato surprise. When he got home he had 17 pieces of potato instead of 20. Rang the shop and was told he could have 3 extra pieces if he went back up there. He was not going to walk all the way back. It would have been nice if details had been taken and offered extra next time or a refund of missing potatoes next time. However he was told sorry there is nothing we can do. Shop is always empty , no surprise there!

Without doubt the best fish and chips shop in Harlow,. have tried them all, just can't be beaten,when I posted this, it was still the CJ people, so can't confirm it is still as good, CJs is closer to me, and they are consistently top class

£25 on food to be told its being refunded ironically 20 mins before closing time after waiting 2 hours and then your told you’ll have to wait three days for the money, ended up waiting 7 days for a refund always have issues ordering with fish n chick won’t bother again

My wife and I tried Fish’n’Chick’n at the Stow for the first time this evening since the replacement of Mr Luigi’s. We had two large haddock with large chips and mushy peas, and it was absolutely lovely! Everything was cooked fresh to order, the portions were a good size, and I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the shop and the friendliness of the staff. A great experience all round, we’ll definitely be returning 👍

I’ve lived in Harlow for 20yrs and Mr Luigi’s was the BEST I always loved how fresh the food tasted and how warm and friendly the staff were. A couple months ago I had covid and after I got through it I fancied some fish and chips I went online to order and saw they changed their name to FishnChicken the first thing I thought was I hope it’s only the name that’s changed and not the quality of the food! Anyway I ordered my usual fish and chips it was awful 😞 greasy and didn’t taste nice so I put it down to the fact I maybe still having some taste issues from the covid. Couple months on and tastebuds back I decided to place an order for myself, my son, my niece and granddaughter none of them have had covid so no issues with tastebuds. The 1 star is for the fast delivery it came very quick but that’s all that was good the food was just horrible the fish was soggy the chips looked half cooked and everything tasted like old oil I hate wasting food but none of us could even force ourselves the chicken my son and niece got tasted like vinegar and I specifically chose no salt or vinegar but my fish and chips also tasted of salt and soaked in vinegar we ended up throwing £35 worth of food in the bin 😤😞 and I won’t be ordering from here again. What a shame. Mr Luigi’s was NEVER like this

Was in the area so tried luigis for the first time in years, chips were very nice but the cod didnt taste like cod, not sure what fish it was, will give them another try.

Beautiful fish - as good as shops by fishing harbours. Small chips is more than enough as a match, in my opinion. Nice, acidic wally - complements the fried food perfectly. Just a few too many chips for me, but others will think perfect amount!

Work in the area 5 days a week and try to get here when I can. By far the best chip shop I’ve been to!! Those chips 😍and the staff are really friendly also. I can’t speak more highly for this place. Writing this with a chips and hot chilli sauce sat infront of me

It was one of the worse meals I have ever ordered and got on Wed 24th Feb from a take a way and now it has been taken over by god know who will not be eating there again after 9 years such a shame the place has gone so down hill but still called LUIGI and they don’t own it Disgusting

Internet order for collection in 15 minutes. Queued up for additional 10 minutes upon arrival, only to receive overcooked Cod, overcooked Scampi, undercooked chips and burger appeared to have been slung together. Appeared to be all different staff so perhaps under new ownership? Hopefully they'll get it together soon!

apparently you are under new managment i can tell my burger was slopperly made and poorer quility then useral the scampy was burnd as well as the chips and fish while you are ther i will not be coming back

I have always used this Chip shop , BUT NO LONGER ,##This is No longer luigI's chip shop ##. Chips where under cooked , boneless s/f chicken was hard and tasteless and cold , and to top all this they have put the prices up . TIME TO GO ELSE WHERE ### HAD TO GIVE THIS A STAR RATING OTHER WISE YOU CAN''T POST IT .. IT WOULD HAVE GOT NONE

My Favourite Fish and Chip shop in Harlow. My only Complaint is that they don't do leg Quarters of Roast chicken like most other chip shops do. My 10 year old Daughter Adores this place and insists on doing the ordering and paying when we visit. (my money not hers)

Great service, great food and good prices. I did particularly enjoy the jumbo cod. When going to chip shops, you usually find that the cods are either greasy, loads of batter and less fish. But their cod are really juicy and with loads of actual fish. We'll surely visit again.
