Might have changed it name from fish and chicken but still the same old poor quality food. Over priced soggy fish and chips. Don't bother.

Called in about 6pm waiting area full. Only 1 young lady serving felt sorry for her kept apologising for the wait. 2 customers ordered and said call back later when less busy. Clearly the staff rota needs seriously adjustments to make sure staff on duty at busy times. Management need to address this situation

We ordered for collection for 6 people, as we were visiting family nearby. Everyone loved the fish and chips. Great crispy batter, even after several minutes drive to get them back home. Portion sizes were perfect, we got medium fish and chips for normal appetite and large for those who wanted it! All freshly cooked and ready to pick up at the exact time we wanted. Would definitely use again.

Was 3p short and they wouldn't let me pay it next time. I only come here 2 times a week..... unbelievable

Really poor sausage was like rubber chips not cooked no carry sauce hair on the chips cold keep away

Absolutely pathetic portion and massively over priced, will never visit again! Never left a review before but I was so annoyed by this I thought it deserved one! Avoid

Went in here tonight for the first time since it been taken over, wish i never brothed. I ordered one small chips and one large. The chips were absolutely awful, did not taste like how chip shop chips should. Didn't even put salt and vinger on them and then charge me £7.80!. Wow rip off. Will never use these again , how they are still going charging that amount for awful food , I will never know.

very expensive, small portions (smaller than a childrens portion) , the food is ok, but I shall go to the chippy dwn the road

2 stars as the fish was tasty. I agree with most of the current reviews, small portion like a child's size meal. Service wasn't much better, not even asked if I wanted salt n vinegar. I wouldn't come here again, shame as the fish and chips were cooked well.

First, let me start off by congratulating Churchills for still being open... With the prices they charge, I am genuinely surprised that they have not gone bankrupt. The chips are nice but the portion size is terrible, it's so small, like a small child's portion. And the price they were asking is a joke, £3.50... Cheap as chips, I think not.

This has been the worst Fish and Chip shop in Cambridgeshire for years now I live there and I give it a try once or twice a year and it is still the same.

Firstly the bad part, batter on cod was sparse, mostly see thru, more a very weak tempura batter, seems like they decided to give me the left over chips, the last of the batch, mostly crispy, thin end bits, the 2 stars were purely for the fish itself, nice white, flaky fish, however not worth the £16+ I paid, will NOT be using you again, had you have been better and cheaper then it would be different.

We decided after a very busy day Monday 5th July at 6:45pm, to grab some food from here for our dinner. We both wanted the advertised deal 3 pieces of southern fried chicken which comes with 'free' chips. I started to order but didn't even get the word chicken out fully before the young guy serving barked I've only got two bits left! So I asked if we could get half a roast chicken - there were a couple of whole ones in the hot cabinet - no we've sold all of those came the terse reply! No offer to cook some more while I waited or cut a whole chicken in to two halves. No apology. No alternatives offered. So I went elsewhere and will avoid!

Disappointed. Fish is fatty and it was defrosted - not fresh one. Chips big portion but soggy and soaked with fat. Fish and chips we had there were not tasty juicy fresh - avoid this place guys. Unless you like food soaking in fat (not fresh fat - used for minimum few weeks)

Very hit and miss on quality and service depending much on the attitude of Management and the capability of frying fish. Chips are good though

I got some food which seems quite overpriced and only average quality.The chips had now risen in price to £2.40 and were greasy.They have stopped doing Just Eat home delivery service after a short time. 5 /10

We came here early one Friday evening, the shop was packed with a queue out of the door. There was a mix up with the orders after quite a long wait. The staff acknowledged this and gave us a voucher.The food here is always tasty and freshly cooked. The kind of chippy you want on your high street

Had fish chips x 2 lots Fri 27.12.19 fish mostly thick piece skin chips huge ,not cooked too well ,won't go there again ,this is honest review,you Gita take more care sawston fish n chicken ,won't buy again,far more care effort needed.

It is a Great fish and chips in Sawston. Nice friendly staff, always a good service. Nice portion sizes.

They do salt n pepper squid here and it is delicious. Good service and polite. Good sized portion too

The gluten free fish and chips here are brilliant. We visit this place every 4-6 weeks and we’ve never been disappointed. The batter for the fish is light and crispy and the chips are great. This is a super treat for a coeliac. The medium portion is more than enough for an evening meal.

What a great find, an actual proper chippy that does a FULL gluten free menu two days a week! Fish, chips, battered sausage the works! The batter was thin and proper crispy, proper chips and all cooked fresh to order!

Had a few takeaways from here, though the battered sausage and chips was pretty good have found that the fish and chips is average at very best. Getting served can be a very slow affair at times too! Certainly better takeaways about.

good staff very polite when busy at times need correct numbers of people on duty to avoid waiting . maybe need to vary menu from time to time

Monday and Tuesday nights they provide a great selection of gf options if you ring ahead they will even put your food on. Great customer service

Bardzo dobra ryba z frytkami. Frytki specyficzne- zwolennik Mac'a się zdziwi. Ale posmakuje. Porcja do najedzenia. Frytek nie dałem rady a rybę i owszem. Nie bardzo znam cenę bo bylem gościem, ale nie sądzę by była droga. Jak na tutejsze warunki oczywiście.

A good local chippie. Very good fish and chips. Gets busy on a Friday as you would expect. TIP: if you want chicken nuggets shout out this request whilst you are in the queue to order as they only cook these to order

Great chips and very friendly staff. I am vegetarian so haven’t tried any of the other options on the menu however this place is always busy.

I was very pleased with the service here. They serve their gluten free menu on a Monday and Tuesday. I was told it would be 8 minutes for my gluten free fish and I was happy to wait as it was cooked to order and the quality of the fish was excellent. I ordered a gluten free medium cod with regular chips and then a normal cod and chips. He said his was delicious too. The service was very good. The portion size was big and I left some but I will definitely be returning. Well done for offering a gluten free menu.

A couple of time, I had chips from here that were mediocre but edible. The other times, however, they've been disgusting - hey guys, I know peeling spuds is dull, but make a bit of an effort to pick out the green mouldy ones, eh?

Went here to simply get sausage and chips. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes for food to be cooked not good if your just trying to get something quick on a lunch hour. Food isn't actually that bad. But only go here if you have plenty of time on your hands.

Half hour to get sausage and chips!! Ordered food with the very happy looking sales assistant (not) did not even tell the person cooking what I wanted until a local had there food cooked and had left the shop. This is very poor would not recommended going here at lunch time unless you have plenty of time on your hands. Will Not be returning

I can't wait to go for fish and chips whenever we go to visit family in Sawston. It's one of the highlights of my visit, especially for my kids who (as Americans) never have really experienced the wonder and greatness that is fish and chips from a real chip shop, let alone a battered sausage. God, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Went here on a Thursday evening got fish & chips and scampi. The chips are normally good and the fish and scampi were good on this occasion. Good service.

The chips from here are not very tasty although the fish is satisfactory. I remember in days of yore when this was a first rate chippy but then 40 odd years ago quality was key. Not so these days.

I always used this fish shop for many years after I moved to Sawston. It also had a wet fish counter I those days.

Maybe my rating is a bit harsh but the chips I had were just dry and tasteless, the burger was gristly and comparable to a value Tesco burger.This was a while ago and I haven't gone back since, possibly they've improved and maybe their fish is better.

Excellent food and friendly and efficient service. This place has (in various guises) been thriving in Sawston for decades and it is easy to see why. They don't store loads of stuff in the warming ovens which means the food is usually very fresh and hot ... although sometimes you have to wait a few minutes.

The chips are always cooked and served up fresh. The staff are always helpful and the Service is quick

A clean, quick efficient chip shop. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you are only after a small portion as I am these days I just discovered they offer senior citizens / pensioners sizes. A good portion for someone who is trying to be good with calories !

the food was quick and freash. It was quiet and had a nice atmousphere. This is a good place to go if you are on a car journey in the evening.

Not keen on big chains, but they seem to make this feel like a real local chippy, with proper cooks who know their regulars and care about what they're doing, and enthusiastic local youngsters as staff. The food's pretty good too! We use it regularly and have never been disappointed.

Being able to eat fish and chips with no gluten is fantastic. They use a different frier Monday and Tuesday so they can provide freshly cooked GF fish and chips. The fish was massive and the batter was light and crunchy. Only cost £5 for the fish and £2 for the chips. The chips weren't very nice but the fish made up for that

I used to live in Britain - I now live in Finland. believe me....these fish and chips are REAL British Fish and Chips. A good solid portion - no polite portions - this is real British Quality food.

We use this as our local fish and chipy. Service always good fish full and meaty so much better than most southern chippys but NO GRAVY!Been from Whitby I know good fish and chips and the chickens not bad either!

Fish was freshly cooked and the chips were a decent portion. They also serve Chicken and the usual selection of pies. Staff were friendly. Parking can be a bit of a challenge so it's best to park in the big car park and walk 100 yards!

The chips are never cooked long enough tried several times but have given up and started going to winners in shelford much much better such a shame as we live in sawston

Great, friendly local fish shop. Plenty of choice and they'll always cook fresh for you. Even later on ! Popped in several times after a fishing outing with the lads and it just finishes the day off perfectly!

I had a battered sausage and chips from here. A decent standard, not too greasy, chips could have been a little crisper on the outside. A good local chip shop, I will return.

Historically this place has always had a good reputation for fish & chips. A recent lunch time visit today has not shaded my view. The chips were well cooked and crisp (not the usual blanched offering you get in most take away fish shops) and a sizeable portion was served. The accompanying sausage was cooked to the same standard too. For those of you travelling north/south on the M11, it's 10mins from the Duxford junction & well worth driving past McDonalds for!!

Proper fish and chip shop. Clean welcoming and cooked to order. Best fish ever. Moist with no hint of dryness. Great tasting chips.

I always have haddock, which whoever is behind the desk has apologies for me for the wait. No I really don't mind having my food cooked to order, in fact I prefer it that way. My kids have the chicken nuggets (which are the best chicken nuggets by far, of any takeaway).

Never been disappointed by the fish or scampi from here. Especially as you can phone up and order in advance so you don't have to wait when you get there. The loyalty card is a good idea too and it doesn't take long before you get treated to a free fish and chips.

Having just moved to the area from London, i thought I would try the local Chip shop, On first notice I was amazed at the prices of this place, it was much more than most chips shops in London then secondly the portion sizes are too small especially given the price.I had the Haddock and chips, both large which was good, but as I mentioned I could have eaten more,, Please Fish n chik'n sort it out, you have the potential.

Always good quality food. Often seems to run out of particular things I like to order (e.g. half-chicken) so maybe some stock issues. But when you get what you want to order, it never disappoints.

The Fish'n'chick'n in Sawston is a great little chippy, just like every Fish'n'Chick'n I have visited. The staff are friendly and polite and helpful. The food is of high quality and very tasty as well as good value for money. Thoroughly enjoyable.
