Brilliant service phone up due to not receiving my order after ordering from just eat was told it was delivered but never received my order when I was on the phone they were very helpful trying to help me to resolve my issue. Than told me to come to the shop and they redone my order for no extra charge. I am so thankful for the help and support and my children enjoyed there dinner. All food was lovey will definitely be going again but in future will just drive and not go though just eat

Fish is generally very good, light batter that is golden and crispy. Chicken is OK, had it a few times but tends to be very dry. Chips always look anemic and undercooked, portion sizes seem to change based on how they feel like wrapping them. Curry sauce is lovely though!

Used to be good now overpriced. Portion sizes are small. Staff seem like they don't want to be there would go else where now

This is my go-to chip shop. I normally go on a Saturday lunch time and there is a lady who is super nice and remembers me. The cardboard boxes get a bit soggy on the trip home, but they have not collapsed on me yet and its better for the environment. Battered sausage, cod and chips all good.

Rude manager, ordered food and the order was missing half the food, no drinks, no dips and no salt and vinegar, Would not recommend. When phoned up told me theres nothing they could do even though over £15 worth of stuff was missing. The food that got to my house was stale. Brutal.

Great food but portions average and pricing, way too high.

A couple of years ago, I complained about the soggy batter and white soft chips. I was contacted by their head office and was sent a voucher which I never used because who wants to eat badly again? HOWEVER, three months ago we decided to check if things had changed. Been back quite often since and it is now back to a great Fish and chip bar. Portions are good and tasty , plenty of nice brown dry chips that even have some crunch to them. Credit to the staff who have brought about this transformation and thanks for giving us our local Chappie again.

It wasn't busy in the shop but very slow service. Plenty of staff so that's not the issue. I was informed the Fish needed to be cooked fresh and once it was ready waited another 5 minutes plus before asking what the issue was, only to be told they were waiting for chips. It should be almost impossible for a chip shop to run out of chips, but I can see how it might happen. However watching staff appear to ignore your order chatting, folding boxes, and getting delivery food ready which didn't seem to be delayed in the same way isn't good service. A simple interaction with customers on the chips wouldn't have saved any time but it goes a long way to service. Perhaps the steady stream of delivery orders adds to the improbable shortage of chips. On the subject of the chips, I'm not sure how the chips were cooked but all of them white in colour, cooked inside but rock hard on the outside. Now that's a combination I've never come across. Impressively disappointed with the food and service

Saturday 16/9/23 @ 18:25. Just fancied a large piece of cod without chips. What a contrast to lunch time fish. This was dried up & within the batter quite small and at £ 9:60 definitely not worth it.

Use alot, I was due chips on the loyalty card and it was blacked out by a member of staff so I didn't get them, no big deal but principle. Chips often luke warm, ordered heroes no offer of dip, twice. Had fishcake last 2 visits which was very overcooked and only good for the dog. Won't be using anymore, such a shame as local.

Fish was nasty!!! Chips were okay. Curry sauce was lumpy. The price was astronomical plus your paying through the nose for food thats served in a cardboard box that disintegrates due to the heat and texture of the said food. Wouldn't recommend.

Nice fresh cooked fish and chips

Started off as fantastic place but if you buy from them regularly you'll notice fiod quality is never the same, sometimes it tastes great and sometimes not. The fish varies in quality same as chips can be lovely and on some days very saggy.

For the price of the food not worth it as can look for better, they tried giving me a small chips which they say is one scoop and it looked like 10 chips on a paper plate and when I gone back in to ask what they where playing at, they all looked at me if I was mad,and started to laugh. paying almost 4 pound for it never going back or ordering online from them, very dirty in shop, not been mopped or swept in ages. Servers not wearing hair nets or gloves at times.

Way over priced food and poor service from children. How they won an award I do not know. The only award they should have is the dearest fish and chip shop in Basingstoke award. I mean when was fish n chips £10 - £20 per person!? I popped in at lunchtime and asked for a small chips and a small curry sauce and they wanted £6.30. Steer clear from these crooks.

Gluten free options avaliable on Monday and Tuesday, nice food and good portions.

I did enjoy the food, but customer service was lacking.

The place was almost empty, only one person in front of me. The place smelled very fried, I think there was too much food already cooked inside the counter with no customers. My question is, what are they going to do with that fried food? Do they serve it to the customers reheated? I don't understand. I asked the guy behind the counter for mozzarella sticks and a small haddock. QQ pounds with something, it cost me, I found it too expensive as the fish is served on its own, with no simple potatoes to go with it. I mean, they put a fish in a super big box, I open the box and the fish is on its own, without any potatoes. Since it is a takeaway restaurant, I thought they should have cutlery so that we could eat the food we took with us, but there were only forks. For the quality of the food, in my opinion, from the point of view that I am a chef, everything tasted too oily. The place looked clean on the outside, but it smelled like fried food, so ..... In my opinion, I don't think I'll be back.

Ordered via click and collect and still had to wait 20mins. and when I got home found the order was incorrect. Complained to head office by email (twice), totally ignored!

I am so disappointed. Chips were rubbish. The fried chicken pieces tasted absolutely awful, revolting! The 'large' cod portion was tiny and overpriced. The only positive was the friendly staff. I will not be back.

Food is lovely, service is lacking. Previously had delivered and several items didn't arrive. Today, ordered curry sauce and 2 kids meals. Asked what drinks we wanted only to get home and have no drinks. Disappointing to say the least

Local fish and chips made in the traditional way. Nice batter and chips. The pies are okay. My wife enjoys the burgers and the slush puppies!

We have been coming here for over 2 year's and this is the first time we we're really disapointed. The fish was watery and soggy and the regular chip portion was really small. I know the price of food has gone up, but paying over £30 for the food I received tonight was not worth the money.

Ordered pie and chips and a portion of pigs in blankets. Meal arrived on time and was piping hot. A really lovely portion of chips too, very few scraggy chips. Really delicious. Delivered with speed and politeness

I appreciate they where busy but stood at counter for over 5 mins wasn't even acknowledged would have been nice to be at least told I'll be served soon walked out and went to takeaway next door daddy BBQ and had fantastic food and service.

Have been here in Brighton Hill numerous times in recent weeks and have gained a very good experience each time. Being celiac certain requirements are needed. Logan has been so knowledgeable and his management skills have been impeccable. Food is really good however the customer service wasn’t great..asked a simple question “how many pieces of scampi do you get?” No one could answer and one guy said “uhhh I dunno”..useless! Know the food you’re selling! Also the girls wear too much makeup and not enough PPE!

Food was great - service was a bit slow

well, so had this take away today, and do feel very sad of spending 40 pounds on it. Ordered 3x large cod, was given combination of small + medium cods. But worse was the actual quality of the fish, it was all dry, yellowish. So looked like kept in oil too long and been warmed up 5x times... So just really sad to spend so much money on such a poor food. (not sure if photo does justice how cr**p it was). 50% of food went to the bin.

Disappointed, haven't ordered for a while and though the food was of good quality the large chips which was an upgrade from the medium cod and chips was not a noticeable amount. Will try ordering everything seperate if I decide to go back.

I want to personally thank a lovely blonde girl, who served and helped my 2 children today. My kids said you were really nice. I wish they caught your name. But next time I will be in with my kids. You don't find many young people being polite and patient to young kids

Went there at 21:30 was told what was one display is what they had. Which was fine by me. Then I was ignored completely so the 3 people could talk between themselves. Walked out dreadful service. . Won’t go back

Called into shop at 20.20 hrs tonight ordered sausage and chips these were worst I've ever had from there,chips were luke warm, sausage was greasy,and no salt and vinegar although I was asked if I wanted it. Staff didn't seem interested, poor service and expensive for what you get especially when you can't eat it Shame won't be going back

Great little chippy, good food and service and can help out with telephone orders. Only thing, a large chips has now been reduced in size which is a shame. Used to get large chips in a box so would be a great size for sharing or families but now portion size is smaller. Apart from that, a good little friendly local chippy.

Ordered large cod, medium cod, medium haddock, chips, onion rings, mushy peas. Always had great service and good quality food, the same this time but ended up with 3 piece's of cod and all very similar size. Food was really good but not what we ordered.

They put the prices up but the food was disgusting chicken was slimy and not fried properly battered sausage was pink and not cooked properly they should be ashamed if you put the prices up make sure your food is good

0 stars if i could,we ordered from them, we did click and collect, left waiting no acknowledgement, girls hair was all hanging down as well from her hat- should have been tied up( very unhygienic) laughing away between themselves, no customer service. Finally recieved my order, fishcake chucked in the box not even in a wrapper ( really bad for allergies as should all be seperate). We had ordered a large portion of chips there was barely enough to feed 1 person!! They have completely cut down their portion sizes not worth the money at all! Offered a refund and still waiting! Its been well over a week now, not happy, and I definately will not be going back. Avoid avoid avoid. Food not bad but not enough of it, terrible customer service and not worth the wait or price.

Lovely chips used to love the save lots but quality of food has gone down in last few months need better staff. Husband has food poisoning from chicken.

Just had the worst fish and chips, I think ever. Served at around 5pm. Almost nine quid for a portion of chips that were inedible, hard brown and dried from being under the heat lamps for how long? Standard cod the same. Batter baked hard and dried, fish dried out and chewy. The fish was maybe a fillet of 1/4 inch thick, a rip off. Total waste of money and mostly went straight in the bin. How can you knowingly sell fish and chips that have been under the counter heaters for probably hours that you must know are not going to be edible. Shame on you.

Yesterday teatime (02/02/22) I went into shop and ordered small fish & chips and curry sauce. I took my order to work across town, and then found they had left out my fish. Very disappointed to say the least.

Always freshly cooked, never in old oil, great portion size, and the pickles are most excellent too! Great service whether ordering at the counter or click and collect.

Very disappointed with the service, staff messing around and laughing. 35 minutes to get my order but only after I complained about the time I waited. Won’t be going back.

Generally it's very good. Collection is always running late. No advantage over walk-in orders.

Very disappointed with the Plaice as the fish was wet and opaque in colour so I threw it in the bin. On the plus side the Scampi was very nice and there was a copious quantity of chips.

Very good service from here today. I was there at the same time as a very rude girl who kept changing her mind and trying to confuse the staff. They handled her very calmly and politely. 10/10! Well done!

I've just found out that if you have a delivery, to a dwelling ,that £2 is charged on each order, whether it be 4 orders at one address making it £8 in delivery charges let alone the order on top of that before you start .If that is the case, then I am Afraid my services with the company will cease from now. A delivery charge is fine if its included with whatever you order but each item I'm afraid that is taking P..s.If it's not the case then accept my Apologies .

Chips were very gritty. I assume the potatoes hadn't been washed well before frying.

Pretty disgusting I've ordered many times and about 70% of the I've had issues with my order starting from hairs then rubber bands in drinks.. The staff don't know how to fry a chip either. Undercooked greasy mess is what you'll probably be served I've had to report this several times very unprofessional environment too

Place was being run by two teenagers. Ordered Lrg cod and chips in a fish and chip shop at 8:55 on a Sunday night. Boy took my money. Then decided at 8:58 that he couldn't make cod and chips in a fish and chip shop. Apparently they ran out of batter!?!? In a fish and chip shop!?!? Find that hard to believe. Also couldn't fulfill the order of the girl before me? So got a refund but no fish and chips which is what I wanted. Would love a reply from management

Great fast food, cheap and tasty!

The chips are quite nice, however over priced and portions are smaller than other chip shops in the area. I find the staff rude, they barely acknowledge you or say thank you. This evening I waited in a queue for 15 minutes to purchase my two children a star slush. The machine was on and appeared to be working. A male member of staff looked at me to take my order, without saying hello or smiling. After politely asking for two star slush drinks, I was then informed its not working with no apology. So I walked away with two disappointed children.

Fish and chips isn't the cheap takeaway it used to be is it. The OAP portion I received, a pitiful 75g piece of cod, was cold, dried out and chewy - like it had sat under lights on the counter all day. The cook should be ashamed of the quality of food he is putting out there!

The Haddock was lovely, the batter was perfect. The chips were nice too. Customers were not sticking to the 2m guidelines though and I feel they should have hand gel on exit

Food always good - nearly always a wait for food but it never disappoints

Original delivery time given was 50 minutes. Half an hour after delivery was supposed to be made we finally got an answer on the phone (took 20 attempts). To be told the driver had just arrived and would be with us shortly. 90 minutes after placing our order it arrived!!! Two large and two medium meals ordered. All arrived exactly the same size yet still charged for what was ordered! Definitely do not recommend and will not be ordering from here again!
