Ordered 4 meals today, large cod and chips, small cod and chips, battered sausage and chips and finally savaloy and chips. Unlike normal chip shops Churchill chain has moved to boxes rather than wrapped paper and the volume of chips is very small. Boyind this process issue today's offering was poor in terms of quality of chips and fish. Tasteless/oily batter and tasteless fish. Altogether poor. Avoid more for the systematic portionissue but quality today was shockingly bad.

The service was perfect and the chicken and chips were the very best I’ve tasted in a long, long time. I can’t recommend this place enough !

Deliveroo order and items missing. Called the shop to be told part of the order was still sitting in the warmer and nobody able to deliver. Therefore one person had no food. Embarrassing and very poor service.

This fish and chip was recommended & boy did it live up to its reputation! Quality food, generous portions, smart clean décor. What a change to see a modern fish & chip shop where it is immaculately clean with staff presented in clean smart attire. We ordered at the counter, took a seat in the restaurant area and the food arrived promptly. Churchill's is a chain and I look forward to trying many of their restsurants

Fishnchickn have been pretty consistantly good over last 6 months or so but my last 2 visits have not been good. Tonight, the haddock was luke warm and the chips were really soggy and heavy, we threw about two thirds in the bin. When a fish and chip treat for 2 is now just shy of £20 it needs to be good everytime.

First time i have been here for a Long Time, will NEVER Go Back, First of all the Guy behind the counter took a dislike to me, and called me " Dagers " Apparently i was given him a strange look !!!!! Asked for Rock, which they don't do, it's a Endangered Species ? same as Skate Apparently ? Anyway, Ordered a Small Cod, 2 Cod Roes, and a Portion of Chips, Got Home, Shoes off, warmed my plate and then opened the Order, Had NO COD, But 2 Portion of Chips along with my Cod Roes, back to the Shop, and they tried just given me a Piece of Cod, I said I Wanted it ALL FRESH PLEASE, Which they did...... Now the Worse bit, i don't know what they done to it, but that Night, I got the Wake up Call in Bed ( You know what I mean ) And Yes I was on the Toilet for most of that Night !! If You do Decide to Eat from this Fish and Chip Shop, I Wish You All the Best . Bob Irwin

We enjoyed a cod and chips 4.99 meal with tea in restaurant. Staff so friendly and attentive. Exceeded our expectations. Recommended.

Cheese burger with no cheese, no salad no Mayo!! £5 for burnt beef in bun!! Excuse was, we deliver ahead of agreed time!! Next time just do your job!!

Have started to use during lockdowns - wished I had done sooner. Every delivery the food has been piping hot, fresh and so tasty. Would highly recommend

This is by far the best fish& chips in the area, our favourite always- never had a bad meal and staff are friendly!

The chicken was sub par but the worst part about our customer interaction with this establishment was the staff attitude and knowledge of products, they never offered salt and vinegar for our chips and when asked about having the condiments they were unsure of what we were asking Terrible customer service, terrible food Don’t use this establishment

Visited here last night for take away and queued along with several members of the older generatio, disappointed that we had to wait whole priority while was given to just eat orders, surely if you come in person you should take priority..... fish and was delicious though

I really like this fish and chip shop the food is nice always fresh and the staff always seem happy and friendly. I am not personally Gluten free but I know a few people that are and I really like that they do special Gluten Free days in the week so people who are gluten free can eat there and have no worries

Really disappointing...only went here because my usual in Queens Park was closed. Ordered a medium haddock which was cooked to order, more like over cooked... it was very dry and only just warm, i had to use a steak onife to cut through it...the chipsxwere not much better. Again only just warm and the potato inside was really dry and almost powdery. Not a pleasant experience and not somwhere i would either recommend or return to....

located in high street , the fish and chip shop does take-away , delivery , has a seating area and is bright , clean and often very busy , which is always a good indication that the food is good. we sat down and ordered two medium size skate , thank goodness we ordered medium , because the fish was served on top of the chips and covered most of the plate. the fish was excellent quality , the batter crispy and of course , hot and all very enjoyable --- there are other items on the menu ,plus during school holidays there is a special offer for children accompanying adults and a senior citizen special offer , all worth investigating.

Best fish and chips around, there is a bus stop outside, also two disabled parking bays. They have a system, that each time you purchase, they give you a sticker, which after 4 stickers you can free mushy peas or 8 times free fish and chips.

Don’t often have fish and chips but when I do this place is always my first port of call great fish and a good size portion of chips. Would recommend!!

This used to be my regular Fish & Chip place but something has changed recently. The batter isnt the same, its not crispy like it used to be, it has a soggy uncooked ( often) layer of batter between the outer edge & the fish. Its really nasty & the fish on the last two occasions was not cooked in places. The stiff card trays have been replaced with lightweight paper which bends & is two small for the fish. The trays are OK for chips. The fish is not drained properly, so the paper tray is full of cooking oil its just very disappointing, so we had to go to another fish & chip establishment.

FishnChicken is a fish and chip shop. And a good one at that. It is located centrally in Billericay High Street. It is very clean inside and the staff seem scrupulous in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene behind the counter. We have another fish and chip shop just around the corner from our house but it's not a patch on this. We generally order cod or haddock and chips to take away. The fish is cooked while you wait (the best way, IMHO). The batter is crisp and not too greasy and the fish is very good. The chips are as good as those anywhere else other than triple cooked designer jobbies. The staff work quickly but are friendly enough.There is a restaurant at the back of the shop, which looks perfect in a fish and chip shop style. I have never eaten inside though.Currently, the best fish and chip shop that I have found in Billericay!Recommended

We’ve been coming here now on a Monday or Tuesday for around a year as on those days they offer a safe, gluten free menu. My son has been GF (and other allergies) since age 3 so he’s never had fish and chips - he absolutely loves it in here. He’s tried the plaice and the haddock and both are delicious. The GF batter is light and crispy and the fish is always lovely and soft as white. Family members say the normal is lovely too. Waitress service is friendly, easy parking nearby. I would urge you to take anyone who is coeliac here as they’ll love it. Reasonable prices.

We had a takeaway from here, 2 haddock, chicken nuggets, steak and kidney pie and chips. All cooked to order and tasted really great. I thought it was good value too

I came to this fish and chip shop whilst visiting my Grandma. I had a pie, my Grandma jumbo sausage which were both pretty standard. My Dad had a c99ked to order haddock which looked good and he said tasted lovely. The chips were nice but a large portion would have barelynfed one person, we had to really stretch it to serve 3 adults. I was still hungry when I'd finished!

I was walking down the high street and saw this place and so thought would give it a try

Have used this takeaway many, many times and beginning to notice a deterioration in the standard of food, as well as missing items in the bag. However the past few times something brilliant has happened and they've really raised their game again. Hot, tasty, fresh and plenty of it. Glad we have stuck with them as it's paid off again. Didn't know they had a loyalty card so will ask about that next time.

We decided to have a fish & chip meal tonight. Our last purchase was two weeks ago & although I had to pat off the grease from the fish it was crispy batter & tasty.

Good opening hours sometimes car park by the chip shop, price are OK the food is good and hot. Have used them a few times all ways good sofar.

As a lover of skate which I have eaten in many high class restaurants ( and paid highly for the priviledge ) you can imagine my amazement when the finest quality and best cooked piece of battered skate was served to me in a fish and chip shop!

Almost everytime i grab a takeaway for my family i have found the wrong items in the bag when i got home. This is not a one off and happens very often. My advice is that you have the counter staff show you each item before it goes in the bag. These guys cannot be trusted to get simple orders right.

Move to Billericay recently and was recommended this place for delicious food. Had chicken and chips one night it was great will definitely use regularly.

Lovely clean friendly Fish shop which has seating to eat in too. Chips are always cooked fresh. Fish is tasty. Would definately recommend this Fish & Chip Shop to everybody.

Used to really like this place when it was Codfather which then moved to South Green which until recently was my favourite. I decided to return to the Fish n Chickn & was pleasantly surprised = Excellent fresh fish & chips & a fine return to form !

We recently visited Billericay & whilst we were there we noticed that there was a FishnChickn restaurant. We have been in the restaurant in South Woodham Ferrers & found that this one was of a similar high standard. The staff there were very friendly, there fish was of a similar high standard as were their chips & all freshly cooked & all purchased at a very reasonable price.

I popped in and ordered fish chips and curry on Sunday afternoon. ...all I can say is fantastic. ......lovely chips great tasting Haddock and batter cooked to perfection......and the curry sauce was also spot on......we will definitely be back for more.

Used this chippy a few times before and was okay.

Never ever had anything but good fish and chips from this chippie Always fresh and hot. You may have to wait for a few minutes but it's worth it!

Go there every Friday never let me down all these bad reviews are from the other chipy that are rivals lovely fish and chips

We have been coming to this fish & chip shop for years as they definitely serve the best tasting chips in Billericay-however, their portion sizes are getting smaller & although the young staff in the till are polite & friendly, the main chef is so miserable! He always seems to be annoyed about something. I wish I could find a better chip shop nearby, but the quality just isn't the same. It's either bite the bullet & have a grumpy man serve you smaller portions or go elsewhere & get more for your money, but less taste...ummmmm!

Very good quality fish and generous portions. We normally rely on the takeaway, but had a lovely meal recently; tasty cod and the chips are way above average, really good.

Exceptionally busy as Good Friday, but food was spot on. Pleased to see stayed at high standards despite the crowds. Was worth the wait.

Went to pick up Cod & Chips. Fish was greasy and chips soggy. After a few mouthfuls it left a horrible taste so threw it away.

As my favourite Cod Father was closed over the Christmas period I decided to give this one a try... I was disappointed with the food and also the portion sizes in comparison to my local chippy the large chips was only enough for one person.

Do like fish n chips on a Friday. And tonight ( 8th) whilst in Billericay we tried FNC in the high street quite busy (good sign) but just had to wait for fish to be cooked so was nice and fresh. Chips perfect too. They do a gluten free batter aswell.

Often visit this restaurant excellent food and service, all cooked fresh when ordered and served with a smile. Reasonable sized menu and reasonable prices.

How this Fish and Chip shop won an award is beyond me, the staff new or not do not listen to orders clearly.

Discovered by chance, saw a big sign in the window re GF being offered too. The cod was superb, and the Gf batter superb. They are also SO careful and polite to ensure the GF rules are adhered to 100% Heavenly.
