A quiet little solo fish and chip outdoor snack in the wintry sun overlooking the sea. Aiming for the higher end of the market, prices are a little higher but quality is better too.Possibly best in Whitley Bay but they’ve proper competition in Seaton Sluice (North) and South Shields (South).

Quay Taphouse

23/07/2020: as I had Potted Crab withdrawal symptoms that only this venue could cure. Filled in the visitor book on entry then was quickly seated. Tables rearranged to comply with guidance and waitress service rather than ordering at the bar, also hand sanitiser on each table. Staff were fabulous as always as was the food. In addition to the crab we ordered the king prawn with lemon butter special of the day and the smoked haddock patties with curried mayo which went down very well. Cliff and his staff made us feel very welcome and we will be back very soon.
