Visited this restaurant for the second time for a takeaway fish and chips meal. Service efficient and friendly, food cooked whilst waiting. Excellent choice on menu. Very good portions. My partner and I both had cod and chill. Chips not greasy, fish had lovely light batter. Some fish and chips have a greasy after taste but not here. A very good meal and will definitely be back often. Will enjoy returning for food in the restaurant which unfortunately is closed during Covid restrictions. Small cod and chips available at £5.50 but we had the regular at£7.80.

Encouraged to go here by a money off deal as opposed to our usual chippy we were certainly not disappointed. We ordered by app and were given a collection time. We went at that time and found them ready served in the hot tray. I thought that they may be a bit old, but no. They were delicious, fish was appetising, looked good and tasted fab. Portion of chips was large. Curry sauce was good as well.Only suggestion, alter the app so that you can place an order several hours in advance and specify a pick up time.We will abandon our previous chippy for this one.

Quay Taphouse

06/08/2020: Visited this week first time eating out since lockdown, great food, great srvice ans felt so safe also a good atmosphere, cant wait to return xx
23/07/2020: as I had Potted Crab withdrawal symptoms that only this venue could cure. Filled in the visitor book on entry then was quickly seated. Tables rearranged to comply with guidance and waitress service rather than ordering at the bar, also hand sanitiser on each table. Staff were fabulous as always as was the food. In addition to the crab we ordered the king prawn with lemon butter special of the day and the smoked haddock patties with curried mayo which went down very well. Cliff and his staff made us feel very welcome and we will be back very soon.

Wheatsheaf Inn

06/10/2020: Came in for a belated birthday meal with the mrs without the kids. We had Curried parsnip soup and chicken liver parfait. Mains we had Venison pie (hearty portion) with potatoes and veg & slow cooked rib of beef with red wine sauce (amazing). For after we had the white chocolate and oreo cheesecake & raspberry and coconut tart. Staff are helpful and friendly, service was spot on.Defiantly return in the future.
