Just SO good. Cod fritters were the best I’ve ever had and the ginger aioli was incredible. Also had the privilege of having a chat with the staff because my partner and I came between the afternoon and dinner. Very generous portions and will 100% be back xx

I really enjoyed my food here my only grievance would be the portion sitze of the curry chicken which for me was very poor compared to other dishes wasn't the best curry chicken ever it was alright so I would drop it to 3 stars had I only ate that. So if you want a good main avoid that so far I saw someone having the jerk chicken my sister had oxtail and they were definitely good portions. 3.5 stars if I could.

I went there they took long to serve us, the oxtail was a pile of bones & when I told the guy he just dismissed me, had to wait ages for the food also. Service was garbage, I dont recommended this place at all.

Terrible carribean food. When you know, you know. Jerk chicken was smothered in some sort of sweet bbq sauce, wasn’t crispy, wasn’t jerk, wasn’t authentic. Oxtail was not authentic either, and was a very small portion. Cod fritters were just OK…Not coming here again, and I do not recommend.

I'm very critical when it comes to the food I choose to eat. This place came recommended by a colleague whom I trust. They nailed it!! Delicious authentic Trinidad flavor. My word, I wanted more of the chicken roti and chickpeas 💥🌟🥰. My appetizer was the cod fish fritters with a creamy sauce that sent me swooning 🎯. I highly recommend if you're in Brixton

Great Caribbean food. The oxtail stew was too chewy but codfish fritters are amazing. So are the drinks. Service is friendly but extremely disorganized. You have to actively catch the servers' attention, who look overwhelmed themselves. Simple improvements, like taking orders on a device instead of paper, could make a huge difference.

DINE IN EXPERIENCE As tourists, we came here for a weekday dine-in lunch. Of the 11 “Big Tings” on the menu, only 3 were available! We had all 3. FOOD: The “Jerk” Chicken was good, though it’s really a tamarind BBQ chicken. The sauce was delicious nonetheless. The Curry Mutton wasn’t bad. Both meals came with a red cabbage coleslaw, and pineapple/mango chutney. These were super tasty, but the amount was miniscule (I’m talking a heaping tablespoon). The Vegetable Roti was fine. The roti itself (dhalpuri) was pretty good. I was about to compliment the chef, a Guyanese woman, on this when I saw a package of store-bought dhalpuri on the counter. The Cod Fritters were very tasty but as others mentioned, it had too much dough/too little fish. The Fried Plantains were good. Their home-made bottled Pepper Sauce was super-hot and very tasty. Home-made Ginger Beer was good. SERVICE: excellent. The young female and male servers (French? Spanish?) were friendly and served with smiles. INDOOR ATMOSPHERE: the indoor space is small with 4 tables for 2.

So I will start this review off on a positive note the waitress was absolutely wonderful can't fought her a tour she was a young French lady with a very French accent and despite this she still made every effort to pronounce all words on the menu and was really polite and friendly. The food here was not at all terrible but the portions do not reflect the price. Fish wings and Tings have recently taken over what used to be eats of Eden an all vegetarian restaurant which I felt was great value for money and the food was amazing this is where I was heading to back to my disappointment they were no longer there and fish wings were now the owners adding an additional restaurant called veg and tings. I was very hungry at this point so decided I'd give it a try I was immediately shocked at the prices on the menu all means are between 14.50 and 16.50 if I'm not mistaken, but didn't let the price put me off as I'm aware that things have gone up and some places have these kind of prices as standard. I decided to order from both restaurants and was ok with the food it wasn't terrible, wasn't great either, but I enjoyed it. I ordered a veg roti which I believe cost £14.50 when I received my dish I could not believe my eyes considering what I just paid I expected a better portion after eating my food I was still hungry so I went to order a bowl of plain rice just to fill the gap but again was outraged at the price £6 for some rice so this would have bought my meal to £20.50. I decided against it and went about my day. In my honest opinion this is not fine dining and the prices do not reflect the food.

The food was good but not mind blowing. It was affordable. But the service was not great. We ordered a starter that took forever to arrive so we assumed that it was just forgotten by the time the main came. The couple sitting next to us arrived much later than us and they got their starter which was fine, at that time we had given up. But then our starter arrived…at the end of the meal. When it came to paying I let them know as feedback for the future but not only they didn’t suggest to have it on the house, the guy just shrugged the feedback off. And at that point it genuinely felt like they were just wanting to get rid of us. Not very conducive of the vibe the place gives off, or the wider Brixton market which is very welcoming and relaxed on the whole. Not a bad experience - just one where the details were completely missed and left a bittersweet taste.

Barbadian owned restaurant with a really nice vibe. Our server (the owners son) was knowledgeable and very friendly, and the service was quick. Unfortunately, our mutton roti and cod ball meals both had too much pepper, even for our jamacian palate. Also, the Roti is served on the side, rather than rolled up with the filling within, and the inside of the Roti has a dry loose grain.. so a little different from what I'm used to. They have a good vegetarian/vegan option. The sorrel lacked ginger but was quite refreshing. There is plenty of seating, and good disabled access. Approx less than 10 minutes walk from the high street, which is served by lots buses, tube and train. Parking is not free until after 8.30pm. A little pricey...1 roti, 1 small side, and 1 non alcoholic drink @ £31. Please be aware that they only take cash, and there is no sign up to advise. There is outdoor seating, which is partially covered. It has air con that will quickly chill your food if you're a slow eater!

Personally found the jerk sauce a bit too sweet, compared to others I've had which I prefer. But I ain't no jerk expert, so going purely based on what my taste buds prefer from experience!). Aside from that the chicken was nice. The prawns were OK in its own but I guess are meant to be eaten with the sauce it comes with because that really gave it the flavour burst. The sauce is veeery very spicy though...so take note before dipping a whole prawn in like I did!

The service was terrible. Had to order a second time after 45 minutes when our order was lost. The owner pretended there was no issue and when we were served (well over an hour after our original order and after several tables had been served within 25 minutes). The food itself was bland and expensive. The curry goat lacked flavour and the rice was plain. We asked the owner for some discount because of the awful service and bland food. The owner was defensive and refused even a 5% discount. I would never eat here again and would recommend everyone else avoids it for fear of disappointment.

Super cosy place with indoor and outdoor seating in Brixton Village. Now with Veg and Tings next door the seating area has now doubled. The plantains were super freshly fried, sweet and soft. My prawn roti, the prawns were super well cooked, the chickpeas could have had a bit more depth of flavour, but the tamarind sauce went super well with this. The roti plate was massive and super filling. My husband liked his jerk chicken but found it a tiny bit too spicy. We paid £41 for the two plates, plantain and one soft drink.

Service really wasn't great as they were so busy and clearly short staffed. We had to find our own menus; we waited 15 mins before placing our order, another 15mins, before the meal arrived. Not great for canteen style food. We then waited 10 mins before the bill arrived. I could see they had a lot of customers, and were also doing takeaways. Our waiter was very nice, I just felt very sorry for him having to juggle so many customers. They also didn't have a lot of things on the menu - my first food request was not available, and the 2 drinks I wanted were also not available, so we ended up having tap water. I would have ordered the salt-fish fritters to take home, but they were going to take another 15 mins.

Amazing Caribbean food and friendly staff, we were told there would be a wait but waited only about 15 minutes, food was lovely and portion sizes are great - highly recommend :)

Food lacked flavour. Chicken tasted like package Tesco product. Drinks are overpriced and sickly. We had to wait for a very long time for our food, only to realise that the kitchen had forgotten to make our meal. Not sure this is an impressive reflection of Caribbean food. Older male (who I believe is the owner) also far from courteous. Won’t return.

Placed an order via Deliveroo. Ordered and paid for Curried mutton and rice and peas as main meal and a side order of fried fish balls. The food was tepid upon delivery, so I had to heat in microwave. The mutton and rice and peas was a childlike portion. 2nd occasion unhappy with quality of food. I will not be ordering from them again.

Top notch jerk chicken. Tamarind bbq sauce is the stuff of dreams. Nice rice n peas, good slaw and nice mango. Highly recommend. Washed down with a rum and ginger beer, the ginger packs a punch! Visited late last year.

The portions have become so small compared to back in the day but the rum punch and the cod fritters with the delicious ginger lemon sauce keeps me coming, which I love! Also service is great, Thankyou

I have to say the jerk chicken was fantastic. However, they are a bit pricey for what they deliver. The rum ting drink is not worthy of a tenner. I watched as they pour a small shot of wray & nephew in glass & then filled up the glass with Tings and lots of ice.

Excellent food from their street treats van. Especially for the neighborhood in which it was parked!

I was raving to the owner about the mac &, cheese, it was so delicious😋 it's so cheesy, soft and creamy! The festival is lovely too, it's not too sweet, it's just right and has a great blend of nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar! Their jerk chicken and peppered steak are both full of flavour, it's well cooked and juicy, you can't go wrong!! 10/10 customer service and food, they make you feel right at home🥂

Don’t understand the negative reviews, always enjoyed big mikes from the jolly farmers to boxpark. Great food, and even the frozen fruit punches are lovely too.
