Delicious food, wide range to choose from and large portions. The music and vibes was great and the staff were lovely and easy to talk to. I will be coming again!!!!

It was a private birthday party. Large venue. Friendly staff.

This is a club that fits the bill as described and has good music with a good vibe. It could do with a bit of freshening up but essentially its a good place for a nice night out. The security team were great and made the experience of getting in run smoothly. The co owners Debbie and Ras Debo were great too. Will definitely go again.

What a beautiful Saturday evening I had at the Alchemy Such lovely staff, and divine atmosphere. The music was the icing on the cake f0r me, I enjoyed every second. And i didn't want the night to end 🎶 Truly lovely place to go, and enjoy some good reggae music - maybe you'll see some ole friends or possible u will make some new ones 😀 🍸 🍷 💃

Very poor service when it comes surfing customers at the bar. I personally think they need to be trained on how to deal with customers when it gets busy. I was standing at the bar for 20min minutes and no came to me at all. Second problem was there is No Air conditioning. You can not hold a function knowing that there is no air conditioning. That definitely has to get fixed before they have a never function. Train your bar staff and get air conditioning. Other then those two things its ok.

Alchemy has a relaxed comfortable atmosphere, Mr Kennedy welcomed my guest in person and was attentive throughout our party 🍾🥂 music was great, entertainer was Mystic Messenger who did a showcase of course we joined in 😆 and a Q&A. Debbie served at the bar, the table service was polite, and informative about menu and drinks, Chantell and DJ Stylee played great reggae music 💃💃 My guest requested Rare Groove tunes and we all had so much laughter. Best the Jamaican food was delicious, waiting was not in vain, curry goat, jerk chicken, sticky chicken, breaded prawns, rice an peas and vegetarian stew peas food served hot and freshly prepared. The hospitality attentive and music was cool. Alchemy a Relaxed and Easy place to be. NB: The Graffiti shop shutters next door a great back drop for our fun quirky birthday photographs. Big up Mr.Doodle my sister loves ya art! Alchemy is a good social space I will be returning for karaoke 🎤 roller skaters and weekly social community events. I recommend 🦁

Welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Good selection of drinks and pool table made for a great time had by everyone that came. The food is cooked to perfection and I was blown away by the sticky chicken! The menu can be ordered from as a main meal or we order different dishes to enjoy like a tapas style. Would recommend to everyone!

I found this restaurant on face book and have been desperate to try it, so last week me and my friend travelled all the way from lewisham to try out their buffet. We arrived and it was closed 😞, we called and no one answered, we visited a few shops to see if maybe they opened later but was told they don't open much anymore through the day. Disappointed to say the least but through walking round Croydon we found a pop up place to eat so at least we got to eat. I think this should be advertised that you are not open to avoid others being disappointed

Great night out for a 50th birthday party

Came in for lunch today, good authentic Caribbean food, oxtail stew was delicious.

The food is nice but I was surprised being served. Why call it a buffet? And you have to ring the bell to get the chef to come serve you.

My brother held his birthday party 🎈 here, food was on point taking into account we were catering also for children. The party after dinner was excellent. We really had a such a good time. A massive ‘Thank You ‘ to all the staff on duty that night. We had a very good night.

Very disappointed to learn 4 days before our celebration that this Company double booked and therefore had to cancel our booking. Very unprofessional, no apology from the outset. Attitude was very bad by the Manager Debbie I had to keep chasing her with phone calls after she assured me she would try to sort something out and get back to me. in the end she just told me "its a no no babe"!!!...I was lost for words. Due to her lack of her professionalism, we had to try and find an alternative. Thank God we found something much better with great food, great atmosphere, nicer environment, great music, professional staff and management. Mango Bottoms in Balham. Highly recommended. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his 50th celebrations it was great. Thanks Alchemy for letting us down.

Great Night Out, With The Right Dj's Playing.

Held 50th birthday celebrations there had the whole place to ourselves for a resonable price great food great atmosphere good music.

Was sceptical about the quality being Jamaican myself. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. Definitely will be back with the family!

First impressions when walking in is that it is spacious & very clean cut. The staff are friendly & greet with a smile, polite and quick. Offering a Caribbean buffet which is excellent value for money & does not disappoint serving a delicious mouth watering selection. Great for lunch or early evening meal.

The venue is great . Suitable for a range of occasions and easy accessible.

Great buffet lunch - the chef piled my plate high with a large selection of tasty dishes, with all the Caribbean favourites included. Washed it down with a bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. Would like to see more hot pepper sauce, something hotter than Encona or a Bajan one, and Guinness Punch would be perfect. The staff were very welcoming and although the place is a little frayed around the edges, the food, music and friendliness of the place has put it top of my places to eat in Croydon.

Uno de mis lugares favoritos para comer. Estilo buffet, comer tanto como quieras, si puedes! Como la comida es tan fulling y sabroso, siempre estoy lleno después el primer plato. Un montón de comida diferente en oferta e. g curry de cabra, pollo estofado de pollo Jerk pollo rabo pegajoso, y mucho más. Gran lugar para comer y se obtiene una calidad de comida fresca para un buen precio. 👍

Family lunch and regular visits to restaurant and bar; never been disappointed by neither food nor service. Friday nights are a blast as after dinner there is a DJ playing; that's when things really get nice in there. :)

I have been here for lunch several times and this place always has the feel of an empty nightclub at lunchtime!! However at £7 a head including a soft drink it is well worth a visit. The food is buffet style and the containers are quite small, so the food is always hot. Good selection of Jamaican food, plus some fresh fruit for dessert. All the staff make you feel very welcome and they encourage you to keep eating!!

Went to Alchemy Bar and Restaurant in George Street Croydon Surrey on Friday with my sister for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Quite small but very clean and cosy. Staff were pleasant and courteous. We had the buffet which is authentic Jamaican cooking. It was very good indeed and would definitely recommend it. My only gripe was, the drinks at the bar are so expensive I think I will pass on those next time. Long may you last Alchemy, I will be back. DROP YOUR BAR PRICES!!
